Any member of WikiProject Malaysia may assess Malaysia-related articles by following the guidelines and instructions. If you aren't sure about an article, ask about it on the assessment talk page.

Any individual editors may rate stub, start, C-class or B-class for quality of an article. An A-class is the highest scale, assigned after a formal review by the project as a whole, rather than at the discretion of individual reviewers. Request of an A-class is possible through an A-class assessment request. The final assessment (rejecting/granting) is given after all reviews are taken care, especially for objections/oppositions.

Good Article (GA) and Featured Article (FA) are quality scales that are awarded through peer review outside the WikiProject. Guidelines and rules on how to nominate an article are given in the corresponding GA/FA pages. Usually, an article of B- or A-scale from the project has a good chance to pass the Good Article criteria. Furthermore, a GA-scale article has a good chance to pass the Featured Article criteria.
