AWB

[edit]

Hi matey, hope you are well. I've seen you've been making a lot of changes due to a page name (like Special:MobileDiff/1063942136. Have you thought about getting access to WP:AWB? You can set up a find and replace, load up the list of items (in this case, any page that links to the target page) and run the changes per page. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:41, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

hiya @Lee Vilenski:, i haven’t thought about doing that tbh. I probably should! I’ll take a look at the page and see what the rules and regs are about using awb. Thanks! CitroenLover (talk) 21:52, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

re: edit revert

[edit]

Regarding User talk:Mrloop#re: edit revert: The status parameters should be used when group play is still ongoing, but not when the group is finalized. You will see the same on Wikipedia pages for other sports. In the current case it is not immediately obvious that Stuart Bingham has already qualified for the next phase of the tournament, but this is indicated with the (Q) next to his name. When groups are finalized, the parameters are no longer useful, since the result of each placing in the group is already specified in the group table. Other people might do it in other ways, but that should then be corrected, as two wrongs don't make a right.

Yes, blanking/nulling the parameters is the same as removing them entirely. And they should be blanked, when group play has ended. If you want to remove them entirely by then, it won't make much of a difference I guess. The only thing is, that you make it harder to create the page for the next tournament.

Mrloop (talk) 09:48, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, wouldn't be too much of a problem not to include the parameters on the articles going forward. Just as it wouldn't be too much of a problem letting them stay as they are. As I told you, it is common use on Wikipedia pages for other sports as well, and there is no reason to have different for snooker. Yes, it would need a discussion on the talk pages. —Mrloop (talk) 21:06, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2022 European Masters (2022–23 season), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sean O'Sullivan. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

snooker season 2022/23

[edit]

Hi can you help me out please ?. When i view the above page the results go into double lines and when i see the changed you made every result of all this season's finals is neat on one line. Why can't i view the table like this please ?. 178.167.156.154 (talk) 18:35, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@178.167.156.154: the way the table formats itself on the page is dependent on your device and screen resolution, there is nothing the wiki can do to make things flow in one line because doing something to improve the experience on desktop will invariably cause a problem for mobile users. — CitroenLover (talk) 23:55, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seniors 900

[edit]

Hello there how are you ?. Can you add the above event to the 2023/24 snooker season calendar please ?. Can you place it in the World Seniors Tour section please ?. It was the first event of the seniors season. It was live on Channel 5 in the UK. It was similar to the Snooker Shootout but these matches last for 15 minutes hence the name The 900(each match lasts 900 seconds). The event was played on one day 29 December 2023. It was staged at Epsom Racecourse in Epsom, England. Stephen Hendry beat Jimmy White 1-0 in the final. Can you add this final result in the World Seniors Tour section of the calendar please ?.
