The Battle of Batu Pahat was a naval battle between Siamese and Malaccan in the 15th century and the battle was led by a warlord named Awi Di Chu. Hearing this,the Sultan immediately ordered the treasurer of Melaka, Tun Perak, to expel the Siamese troops from the Malacca territory[2].

When the Siamese army began to retreat, Tun Perak saw an opportunity to launch a counterattack. This sudden attack surprised the Siamese army, the attack forced the admiral Awi Dichu to send the Siamese fleet to retreat to Singapore. The retreat of the Siamese fleet, gave the Sultanate of Malacca a victory.

The Siamese fleet was forced to retreat towards Singapore due to heavy losses and defeats.

Aftermath

After the great defeat of Siam at Batu Pahat, Cau Pandan was ordered by the Borommatrailokkanat to attack Melaka again. However, while Cau Pandan's army was preparing, Cau Pandan was killed by an arrow from Tuan Sayyid. According to the Malay Chronicles, after the death of Cau Pandan, Borommatrailokkanat canceled his intention to attack Malacca[3][4] .

The victory at the Battle of Batu Pahat in 1456 strength the position of the Malacca Sultanate, both politically and militarily. The victory also boosted the morale of the Malacca people and strengthened their faith in the kingdom's leadership. In addition, this success also helped to consolidate the sovereignty of Malacca as a major power in Southeast Asia at the time.
