Welcome
[edit]Hello, WANGYIZHE1124! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you are here to participate in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we highly encourage you to go through our training page that's specifically created and catered for students such as yourself:
If you need help, check out Wikipedia's page for questions. You can also ask me by visiting my user talk page and leaving a message, or you can ask your question on this page by editing it and placing {{Help me}}
before your question. Please make sure that you sign your messages on discussion pages, which is done by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the very end of it; this will automatically insert your username and the date. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for students page.
Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.
Here are some more pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page (editing policy)
- Introduction to Wikipedia
- Help pages index
- Visual editor tutorial
- Wikitext tutorial (if you're choosing to edit pages using the Wikitext source code instead of the VisualEditor)
- Wikitext cheatsheet
While editing:
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Be bold, but do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- Provide reliable sources to the content you add. If you are adding biomedical information, please follow this guideline.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay with us as a member of the community - even after your assignment is finished. Your time, energy, and your contributions will be highly valued and appreciated among us.

[edit]Hello, I'm Denisarona. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Chinese virus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Denisarona (talk) 11:27, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ok,thanks! WANGYIZHE1124 (talk) 02:17, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Chinese virus, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. — hhypeboyh 💬 • ✏️ 11:53, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Chinese-style virus (November 18)
[edit]- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Chinese-style virus and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- I made this Wikipedia article differently, do I need to change the title? WANGYIZHE1124 (talk) 06:13, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Wikishovel As the instructor supervising this translation (a student assignment), I'll note that this is not anidentical topic.Did you read it?
- Zh wiki has three separate articles on this: xenophobia and racism related to the COVID-19 pandemic - Wikidata , Chinese virus - Wikidata (those two got merged on en wiki and I think you may be thinking of them), as well as https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/中國式病毒 which is the one being translated here and which is quite distinct; it is related to China threat theory - Wikipedia but arguably has stand-alone notability.
- Now, you are correct about the circular reference problems. The student did not ask me for a review here yet, but I'd tell them that they need to correctly translate and format references (from 中國式病毒 - 维基百科,自由的百科全书 ). They are currently not translated and used correctly.
- Feel free to review my students work and offer additional suggestions. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:00, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
