Week 6 / Assignment 6 / Wikisun1952
1. The article I added was "Food Addict Anonymous". It explains how people deal with food addiction and how to overcome it.
2. The link diff:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Food_Addicts_Anonymous&type=revision&diff=1055258544&oldid=1002477332
3. I learned how to cite a source correctly on Wikipedia. Wikisun1952 (talk) 20:53, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
- Wikisun1952, I strongly recommend you reply to the editor who undid a number of your edits due to copyright violations and review the training you completed on using sources. Just like in my course, never use sources word-for-word as that is considered plagiarism. Always restate in your own words and then cite your source. Revise the ones that were undone as part of this process and then ping me for each of them and I will again review them. FULBERT (talk) 02:47, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

1. this is my article linkhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_impacts_of_lithium-ion_batteries. I had assigned it to my homepage.--Amber MWY (talk) 08:31, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

- FULBERT, Hi professor, actually, I put the diff link in the Week4/assignment/Amber MWY, but I can not edit it, so I just ping you here. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Environmental_impacts_of_lithium-ion_batteries&type=revision&diff=1052829465&oldid=1052659979--Amber MWY (talk) 10:36, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
- Amber MWY, This is fine, though starting this week we should also add a sentence or two in addition to adding the citation itself. Can you add a bit to it so we know how you intend the citation itself to be added and then ping me here when done? FULBERT (talk) 20:46, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT, I added two citations for this article. The first one is that the author showed us"This type of battery is also referred to as lithium-ion batteries" but it did not show us what evidence is. And another is "Most commonly used for electric vehicles and electronics" and it also did not show us the idea to support it.--Amber MWY (talk) 02:58, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Amber MWY, OK for now. Current with Week 4. FULBERT (talk) 21:23, 27 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 6/ Assignment 6/ Nenenie
1. This article is Shen Congwen's novel. I have added some of Shen Congwen's views on the life of the peasants in the story. This story is about the beauty of human nature and the defeat of feudal customs. There is no intrigue between people in the story of Xiangxi, simple and innocent.
3. If only the content is one-sided, it is difficult to find the author actually wants to express the meaning. This story describes a feudal place, but through the author, we can find the beauty of the human nature of this place. --Nenenie (talk) 23:20, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- Nenenie, Part of this assignment involved adding a citation, which you did not do. Please add a citation to a credible source and ping me here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 23:31, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 7/ Assignment 7/ Nenenie

2.The diff links: The Golden Cangue: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Golden_Cangue&type=revision&diff=1056864212&oldid=1048426361

1. 1) I added some port information to Shenzhen transportation part to make the statement of Shenzhen transportation more complete. 2)The mascot is a significant symbol of the Olympic Games. 3. 1)I know that Shenzhen’s economy is booming. Although I grew up in Shenzhen, I never realized that Shenzhen’s ports are so busy, and the throughput of containers is so large. 2)The Beijing Winter Olympics is approaching. Before that, I haven't paid much attention to the appearance and meaning of the mascot. Through this editing, I better understand the Winter Olympics and its mascot.--Cecilia haha (talk) 07:54, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Manhattan_Bridge&type=revision&diff=1057377517&oldid=1056550276
Describe what your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia extra credit assignment:This experience gave me a new understanding of Wikipedia. Before that, I just looked at the content of Wikipedia to understand what I wanted to know, but I never thought that I could edit it myself. I believe this is an exciting experience.
Discuss what you learned: I learned how to edit Wikipedia and insert pictures. In the process, I realized that even if it is a short edit, the content must come from an authoritative article. The wording on Wikipedia also needs to be rigorous and logical.
Why / why not do you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia:I might continue to edit on Wikipedia in the future because I think this is an exemplary process of learning and sharing. I can share knowledge that others don’t know and help others understand a topic better. At the same time, I have also deepened my understanding of this subject. I think this is a win-win operation.--Cecilia haha (talk) 07:29, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- Cecilia haha, Nice addition that was then edited further. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. FULBERT (talk) 16:20, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Week6/ Assignment 6/ Beccabubu
1. This week the article I chose is "Flexible work arrangement". The COVID-19 pandemic placed flexible work arrangements, especially for telecommuting, to bring profound advantages for both a company and its employees. According to Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), there is evidence that more women than men have been asked for flexible work arrangements in the past few years. I added this fact to the article.
2. Link to the difference: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Flexible_work_arrangement&diff=1055329026&oldid=1049493816
3. One thing I learned from last week is: all information should be cited and verifiable by reliable sources. --Beccabubu (talk) 06:59, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- Beccabubu, Nice edit. Current with Week 6. FULBERT (talk) 18:12, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Week7/ Assignment 7/ Beccabubu
1. I normally drink about 3 cups of coffee and get bubble tea at least once a week, it's way too hard to get rid of the sugar rush, so this week, I chose "Bubble tea" and "Coffee consumption in China" these two articles to continue to discover the fun of editing the Wikipedia. I added some data on each article to support the consumption growth of bubble tea and coffee in China in recent years.
2. Link to the difference

Coffee consumption in China: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Coffee_production_in_China&diff=1055882819&oldid=1009067062
3. It is fun to improve information on a particular topic of interest, whether a focus of study or a favorite drinks --Beccabubu (talk) 11:45, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Beccabubu, Both of these were reverted by other editors as your source, China Daily, is not considered reliable per WP:RSPSOURCES. Please edit for better sourcing and ping me again here and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 18:17, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 8/ Assignment 8/ Beccabubu
1. This week, I made some adjustments to two articles, "Operations of KFC" and "Food delivery". I added the specific time when KFC offered food delivery service in Malaysia. And under the section on Chinese food delivery, I added some functions of the food delivery app, including ordering restaurant food, supermarket products, vegetables and fruit, cakes and flowers, etc.
2. Link to the difference: Link to the diff - Operations of KFC Link to the diff - Food delivery
3. This week, I cited peer-reviewed academic journal articles as references that are highly credible sources when editing Wikipedia; compared to last week, I used two sources with little credibility. An editor needs to determine the quality of the sources carefully. --Beccabubu (talk) 08:32, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- Beccabubu Nice edits. Current with Week 8. --FULBERT (talk) 18:19, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Week9/ Assignment 9/ Beccabubu
1. Last year I visited the amazing Jiuhuashan (Mount Jiuhua), one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains in Anhui Province in eastern China; that was a terrific experience. The tour was so much more than I expected. I took a pic of the 99-meter statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and inserted it into Wikipedia "Mount Jiuhua".
2. Link to diff - Mount Jiuhua
3. Every editor has to make sure it’s permissible to use the image to start with. You absolutely cannot just grab whatever you find on the Internet and use it on Wikipedia.
4. The whole process of being an editor of Wikipedia is fun. It helps me learn about new things. Sometimes I want to write about something that I'm not familiar with, so I have to learn it. I have to open books, go to libraries, find references, dig up things that don't come up as the first Google result. It helps me enjoyably spend time. My favorite aspect is when I see other people building on my work and finding that our knowledge, skills, or access to reference materials are complementary.
What I have learned from this process is as an editor, you have to be responsible for everyone; you have to summarize information from independent, reliable sources.
I may continue editing on Wikipedia because I would like to share my knowledge with others. Wiki gives me the platform, and when I find an interesting piece of news on something, I feel an urge to share the material to give other people the opportunity to read it. --Beccabubu (talk) 06:42, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Beccabubu, Nice addition and thanks for sharing your perspectives on this assignment. I hope you continue! FULBERT (talk) 18:20, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Week 6/ Assignment 6/ Gdaymate011
Hello
1. The article I picked for this assignment is a science fiction novel by the Chinese writer Liu Cixin. The title refers to the three-body problem in orbital mechanics, and the name of the article is called " The Three-Body Problem".
2. The diff link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Three-Body_Problem_%28novel%29&type=revision&diff=1057658813&oldid=1057608816
3. The citation I added to the novel is going to make the background of the article more detailed. Then I learned that the background of the article needs a lot of references to support it. Gdaymate011 (talk) 18:58, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
- Gdaymate011, I undid this edit due to WP:PLAGIARISM concerns as the text is too close to the source cited. Please redo this in your own words and ping me again here and I will review. As a reminder, all edits must be in your own words, as copyright violations are serious problems that can potentially leave you blocked on Wikipedia. FULBERT (talk) 17:01, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
