Categories
Will you let me place "List of Gargoyles episodes" under Category:Lists of Disney Channel television series episodes. The Disney Afternoon shows are also included due to being reran on Disney Branded Television (Disney Channels Worldwide).
That other category Lists of Disney television series episodes will be altered Disney Channel-related lists. MegaSmike46 (talk) 22:43, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Nothing in that article supports the assertion that the show was broadcast on a Disney channel. If you want to add that category you first need to add verfiable content to the list article to support the inclusion of the category. Even the main Gargoyles article only supports that category via statements that presently aren't sourced properly. DonIago (talk) 02:55, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Can we at least remove it from that category, until further evidence? MegaSmike46 (talk) 00:49, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Evidence of what? It belongs in the category as it's currently named because it is a Disney television series as discussed in the lead of the article. It does not belong in a category for Disney Channel series because it doesn't currently appear to be one of those. Your speedy renaming proposal would change the meaning of the category.
- I would also note that you don't appear to have properly requested the speedy rename. I looked at the notice and you provided no rationale for the renaming, nor did you add it to the list of speedy renaming requests. DonIago (talk) 02:07, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, I've made those rearrangements now. So in the meantime, can we remove "Category:Lists of Disney television series episodes"? That category is no longer prevalent for that subject. MegaSmike46 (talk) 23:56, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- Per the ongoing CfD, there doesn't appear to be a lot of support for that. If you feel that category should be deleted, you need to make an argument for it. DonIago (talk) 00:31, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
- Well, there doesn't seem to be much support against it either. It's currently linked to multiple articles. MegaSmike46 (talk) 16:01, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- It looks to me as though two people opposed your rename, while two others have favored a split rather than a rename; I'm not really seeing anyone supporting your original proposal. DonIago (talk) 13:47, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

Cover art removal
Hey, just out of curiosity, could you point to the MOS guideline that supports this edit, where you removed the cover art from the infobox at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (film)#Music? Throast (talk | contribs) 18:19, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- I can indeed! MOS:FILMSCORE. Please let me know if you have any questions! DonIago (talk) 18:30, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Reversion by rollback Comment
Greetings Doniago; I hope these comments find you well. Aside the fact that I disagree with your recent reversion of my edit (attempting to hyperlink "plot line") I am not here to debate whether the term is ubiquitously understood or not nor the pros and cons of flexibility vs. "hard rules" and rigid enforcement. I am here because the manner of your reversion indicates the use of rollback which, of course, should only be used for edits strongly resembling vandalism. Failing to identify my edit as having been given in good faith causes me to wonder if in fact you interpreted my edit as "bad faith vandalism"? Respectfuly given (FWIW).--John Cline (talk) 17:17, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi John, per WP:ROLLBACK - " It is used to undo problematic edits such as vandalism." The use of "such as" here means that it's not used exclusively for vandalism, but can (and in practice is) used on all kinds of edits deemed problematic, such as what I would argue (with no offense to you nor suggestion that I want to argue it) is the linking of common terms. I certainly don't believe you were editing in bad faith or I would most likely have warned you accordingly...nevermind that with the number of edits you have under your belt, I would be disinclined to believe that you would commit "bad faith vandalism". If you'd linked multiple common terms (or I felt that you had), I might have left you a message about overlinking. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 03:33, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Reverted edits on The Perfect Storm and Andrea Gail
It doesn't seem unnecessary linking at all to me. I linked the definition simply because I didn't know what "lost with all hands" meant and I had to search it. It's a technical term in nautical jargon. I'm positive most people aren't familiar with that jargon. Granted, it can be deduced from context, but that's not good practice, Wikipedia should provide clear tools to find answers, not promote guessing. If the linking to Wiktionary is annoying for whatever reason, then I suggest to change the sentence to "lost with its entire crew" or something similar. There's no reason to use that technical term to begin with, since it's never repeated again in neither of the two articles, it's not used in the film, and to my knowledge it doesn't refer to an official report. Kumagoro-42 (talk) 04:18, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- I've known the term (or could infer it) since I was a child, so I'm not sure what to tell you regarding how unambiguous it is. Obviously it seemed unambiguous to me, or I wouldn't have delinked it. I recommend starting a conversation at the Talk page for one of the articles and mentioning the discussion at the Talk page for the other article. That way we can get feedback from other editors and build a consensus. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 15:00, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Cars
You may be interested in serveral Cars-related redirects at WP:RfD: I'm not sure my ping worked. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:36, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up! I did get the ping, but really I was just a hatchet-man for the List of Cars characters article, or whichever one it was. I've not seen any of the films and have no plans to do so, and I'm content to leave the fate of those redirects to the consensus of editors other than myself - though personally I don't think they should be listed in the article or have appropriate redirects unless reliable sources are included to establish that the characters received some level of real-world attention. Thanks again! DonIago (talk) 13:16, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Not going to re add
If it’s easier for you to delete what I added than to flag the citation, it’s easier for me to drop it and not bother re adding a modified version. 209.161.229.9 (talk) 05:32, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
