The removal can easily be undone if need be, with the addition of an appropriate reliable source. It's overstating the matter to claim the reversion of a single edit imposes a significant burden upon anyone.

Also, please note that with your edits to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive743 you were not only making changes to an archived thread (as indicated by the name), but were responding to comments left ten years ago.
