Sworn In (band) 'a newer band has deleted our page but we were there in 2002 and are reforming, please reinstate'
Because a band that came several years after ours has decided to delete out page that was up for many years on Wikipedia. and then click the "Save page" button below —Storieshollywood (talk) 16:34, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) There do not appear to have been previous incarnations of Sworn In (band) prior to its creation in 2014, but Sworn in (band) existed and was A7 speedy deleted in 2010. (The apparent creator of the latter article appears to have no other undeleted edits.) Sworn In was created as a redirect to Oath in 2015, after a previous article with that title was A7 speedy deleted in 2007. Not being an admin, I have no access to the deleted content to see if either of the deleted articles referred to the earlier band mentioned above. --Finngall talk 20:09, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
- The deleted article is unrelated. The existing Sworn In (band) and Sworn in have no deleted contributions. The lead sentence of the deleted Sworn in (band) starts out "Formed in early 2001 members included Del Jae, Buddy Hell, Steve Meader and Alex and Matt Smith and were known for their abrasive live shows and certain members for their distinct fashion sense." The article has zero sources. The article claims the band released one EP under two different reasonably-notable indie labels, Bridge 9 Records and Reflections Records. If it were restored, it would be deleted again because WP:BAND requires two albums released under a notable label. Therefore, this request is Declined (and it is ineligible for restoration anyway due to being deleted as WP:A7).
- @Storieshollywood: I suggest you start over in draft space, say Draft:Sworn In (punk band) or something similar, then submit it for review via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. You must do it this way because you have a conflict of interest. And be mindful that the article won't be accepted unless it meets the guidelines in Wikipedia:Golden rule as well as criteria in WP:BAND. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:35, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Storieshollywood: I've changed the Sworn In links on the record label pages above to point to Sworn In (punk band). If an article on your band makes it to main article space under a different title, please be sure to update those other links accordingly. --Finngall talk 21:53, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

- It was deleted because it was counted as a recreation of what was deleted as a result of the discussion in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Ramy (2nd nomination). Everything I said is true.
It doesn't matter if it is about myself - I used a completely neutral point of view.
Like I said previous, I have read numerous articles about surfing in India where my projects in the Andaman Islands, Andhra Pradesh and Diu Island were completely uncredited - very annoying.
Even MORE annoying is when people take credit for things I have done - ?
Isn't that what an encyclopedia is for? To be a reference of FACTS?
That's is exactly what I am doing - stating FACTS.
Restore the deleted material from "Surfing in India" immediately, please -
I am not doing anything wrong - I did read the guidelines. Read what I wrote and posted - before you automatically delete it.
Thank You

- JohnSeatonCallahan the page has not been deleted. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 16:00, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Dodger67: I believe JohnSeatonCallahan is complaining that his edits got deleted. This was a blatant violation of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, so it was correct to delete the material, regardless of how factual it was. John, an encyclopedia's purpose isn't to be a reference of facts. See WP:INDISCRIMINATE for guidance on this. There are many facts available, but not all of them are encyclopedic; that is, not all facts are suitable for inclusion in an encyclopedia. Furthermore, because you have a conflict of interest, you should propose your contribution on the talk page rather than attempt to add it yourself. Continued attempts at self-promotion will result in your account being blocked. Also read WP:BURDEN. If something you want to add is removed, the burden is on you to gain support for your addition on the article's talk page. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:09, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Timeline of Facebook
The page was speedy deleted under WP:G11. I was a major contributor to the page, but forgot to make a local backup. I would like the wikitext (before any possible large removals from the page; the page as of 2017-03-01 should be fine) emailed to me. —Riceissa (talk) 23:26, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hmm. It seems that the same administrator JzG deleted Timeline of Twitter, Timeline of Instagram, Timeline of Pinterest, Timeline of Snapchat, Timeline of LinkedIn as G11, without anyone proposing them for deletion. I'm wondering if this was an inadvertent slip of an automated tool, since there isn't really a precedent for long-standing articles to be deleted suddenly without community review. ~Anachronist (talk) 04:54, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have just restored Timeline of Facebook at this point, and we can ask JzG to reverse the other deletions. Checking the content of the articles, they do not appear to be promoting these platforms. Deletion also looks to be controversial for these timeline pages. It started with the deletion of Timeline of GitHub and then a bunch were deleted in two minutes. Timeline of Monsanto was deleted at 13:15. And it looks as if Twinkle was the tool doing the deletes. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:05, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, why not. It's not as if someone paid for these advertorial timelines to be created in order to boost their SEO or anything. Wait! That is EXACTLY what happened! I am mystified by our current determination to give spammers what they want. Guy (Help!) 11:52, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- @JzG: so this was deliberate, and not accidental? Since when do we delete long-standing articles that have contributions from established editors without proper review? AFD would have been the better venue. If you objected to Riceissa's recent changes, you could have just reverted them. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:47, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have a problem with characterising someone a a long established editor when they are part of a paid editing pyramid scheme. The fact that they got away with it for a long time does not make them anything other than a spammer. I admire your good faith, but I am afraid it is misplaced. Guy (Help!) 07:53, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Victoria Yeates
Article was twice deleted for notability, although an AFD resulted in Speedy Keep. A week later, an administrator User:DragonflySixtyseven appeared to have arbitrarily ignored the outcome of the AFD, decided it lacked notability and deleted it. I'm here because it doesn't seem right to ask for an AFD Review, as the AFD resulted in Speedy Keep. She definitely meets the notability criteria as a star of a hit show who has received sufficient coverage about her life and career. I was just going to create a new article but I think it would be more fair to the original editors to simply restore the deleted article and update with additional sources. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] ——МандичкаYO 😜 01:43, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- There really isn't much to restore, honestly. The only content was "Victoria Yeates is a actress who has been in several shows. She has a following as well with her fans." I suppose it could be restored just to show the person that originally launched the article, but it was in pretty poor condition. You'd be doing so much work on the article that you would essentially be writing it from scratch. There weren't any sources and the only link on there was to the IMDb listing for the actress. I'm going to assume that DragonflySixtyseven didn't see the AfD, but I do think that a search would've provided enough to show that Yeates would have passed speedy criteria at the very least. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 01:46, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- She's gotten some attention for performing in The Crucible, so that would help soothe any concerns about her only being notable for CtM. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 01:50, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info @Tokyogirl79:. As long as the original author(s) is in good standing, I'd like to please undelete it out of principle, so their efforts, however small, are not erased. Having valid articles deleted off Wikipedia (especially after a speedy keep AfD!) is the kind of thing that drives good editors away. Thank you! —МандичкаYO 😜 06:27, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- WP:CSD specifically prohibits this kind of deletion. "If a page has survived its most recent deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations and pages that meet specific uncontroversial criteria", which criteria are things like G6, F8, and other stuff that definitely doesn't include A7 or other content-related reasons for deletion. IAR exceptions can arise, of course, but "notability not asserted" isn't an exceptional circumstance that needs IAR. I've undeleted the article. Nyttend (talk) 03:01, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Request for undelection of Victor Ike
Hello, I've been trying to send a message to Northamerica1000, but when i click on "Talk back" or {{You've got mail}} on his page, it directs me to a different page. I wrote here some weeks ago, about the delection of Victor Ike Article and did'nt get no response, which i think was'nt faire. I also wrote to John of Reading & Κσυπ Cyp about the delection of the article i'm still working on and they told me that it was Northamerica1000 that delected it. Please can you explain your deletion of that article "Victor Ike"? It was a soft redirect and was created using the appropriate template for such. I'm still working on it and It did not qualify for a speedy or any other deletion since we having pages like that is very normal. I would appreciate if you can restore it. Best Regards, Tracy

the article was fully referenced. As the deleting admin noted, the author is an author of some notable works and therefore is notable by connection to those works. Hello, I am having trouble understanding the exact reason why this page was tagged for deletion and eventually deleted even after I edited the text. I do not work at this company, have carefully researched Wikipedia posting rules before doing it, and I truly don't think the text was promotional. I had included only 1 link to the website of the company (the link led to homepage and was in infobox and external links, no link in text), but would still remove it without an issue if that was the reason. I had also researched similar topics on Wikipedia and tried to keep the style consistent to them. Moreover, I have specifically refrained myself from taking ANY kind of information from the company website or blog. All of the information I included, without exceptions, were sourced from external sources, not related to the company. So, apart from the default paragraphs of the possible reasons why the page was deleted, can you please indicate the exact parts of the text that looked promotional to you or the exact reasons why the page didn't deserve to be saved. Please understand where I come from, at this point I still don't understand how I could have possibly improved the text and it is hard to progress and make other edits/create other pages not knowing why the previous one got deleted. I would really appreciate the help, thank you. Poster11 (talk) 21:14, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- The deletion clearly states it and it followed our main policy WP:What Wikipedia is not, however, I will note that anything still suggestive of a business profile will be deleted; focusing only with the basics and also major independent news is what helps in articles here. SwisterTwister talk 22:10, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- As I recall the article was for a local chain of print shops. The article relied heavily on claims of WP:INHERITed notability from its client base rather than any claims of notability of its own. To be fair, the first admin to respond declined the CSD. It was only because Poster11 restored the CSD that the article was in consideration for deletion. If the article is restored, and there are no verifiable claims of notability I will take it to AfD. Cabayi (talk) 21:37, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- The reason it looked promotional was the use of marketing style words, such as prestigeous, exclusive, awards, expertise, recognized. If you didn't retore the delete tags yourself it mya have survived till this day. The way ahead is to ask User talk:Deb to restore it for you. You can tell her that you added the delete tags by mistake. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:02, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hey everyone, I want to say thank you for all of you replying, this really did clear up things for me. I don't think I will ask to restore the tag, I might just rework the information, make the necessary fixes, and then maybe try again. With these comments, I don't think the previous text will work even if I edit it. Thank you again. Poster11 (talk) 13:25, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Accidentally deleted —Ugatdos (talk) 12:37, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
The reason why Low Roar was merged with Audrye Sessions was because of insufficient notability back then. However, Low Roar is releasing a third album, and according to Spotify has 185,000+ monthly listeners. I don't see how that is insufficient notability, considering an artist like Azure Ray only has 39,000+ monthly listeners. Low Roar is a separate entity which is gaining a considerable fanbase, while Audrye Sessions is a thing of the past (534 monthly listeners last I checked). Surely, Audrye Sessions should not have their article deleted since they did enjoy a period of notability, but Low Roar should also have their own page since they have reached a sizable amount of followers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edmondduong (talk • contribs) 18:08, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
- Since it did not get deleted, we don't have to restore. Instead you can see previous version at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Low_Roar&oldid=619543177 and edit from there. Though I have seen some controversial editing recently, so a discussion on the talk page would be wise. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:30, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
