- talk page for the article "Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant" (filter log)
- Description
- I just commented that the talk section "Needs Fundamental Rewrite for Accuracy and Clarity" is excellent, and noted that while I'm not a hydro expert, I have a great deal of personal and professional knowledge in forming that assessment, and I recommended that this talk section be incorporated in the article by someone who knows how to do that well.
I'm at a loss why any of my comment is not constructive. If it was deleted because someone is challenging where I grew up or my degree or my general competence, then they need to provide details and proof where I have misrepresented myself. Better yet, provide details that prove the content I was complimenting is incorrect, and heavily reference those details as the "Needs Fundamental Rewrite for Accuracy and Clarity" is detailed and referenced.
This kind of arbitrary, capricious deletion is exactly why I'm not wasting my time on incorporating the excellent content in the wiki article. My fear that some kind of wiki cop with an agenda will wipe it all out just got substantiated by having some kind of wiki cop wipe out my innocuous-at-worst comments. If wiki leadership intends to gradually hand wikipedia over to the hands of zealots, do nothing in this case and stay the course with such deletions. Ironically, if someone deleted my comment with the mistaken belief that I was ranting, then that unreasonable action has triggered this completely justified rant. Anticipating someone blaming a robot for the deletion, that would be shameless avoidance of accountability.
Good luck with wiki in the future after you drive out all the reasonable participants. Any thought I had of getting an account and working on articles just vanished, permanently. In the wiki world that looks increasingly Orwellian to me, I wonder how long this "false positive" report is allowed to exist here. (Sincerely, "wiki unperson")

- Remove the messages for this retired user.
I decided to look at my old user page (so shoot me, sometimes I go onto Wikipedia to read it) and I've discovered a lot of silly people are sticking templates (often very aggressive templates, I might add) to my user page. What's wrong with these people? Are they so busy slapping templates on pages that they don't notice the retired notice? Or the fact that they've stuck a message on a user page and not a user talk page? Anyway, can you please remove these? If you don't I suppose I don't care that much - but given that I've not looked at my page in over 6 years or so, surely they might get a hint I'm not coming back, as requested by Brad? Thanks.

- The filter doesn't check for whether there are links, but rather common text patterns in general used by spammers (who don't necessarily insert external links). This account happens to be a young one; after it makes a few more edits the filter won't affect it.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:16, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Solomon ben Aderet states that we don't have any books by angel's and that such a thing never happened, yet this book Maggid Meisharim is credited to an angel... therefor it is proper to keep this page as controversial.

- Talk:Trolley problem (filter log)
- Description
- I tried to start a discussion whether a link to an SMBC parody of the trolley problem should/could be added to the page Trolley problem. The parody does mention Hitler several times, so perhaps this triggered the mechanism.
But if not on the discussion page, where should this be discussed?? A simple "no, SMBC is crap" by an actual person would have been impolite, but at least I would know what others think of my suggestion, and why. Having the discussion prohibited by a robot that does not even give a reason for the rejection is much worse than impoliteness, it is degrading.
Here is a version of my edit. Previous versions had more mentions of "Hitler" in them.
The following parody appeared recently on SMBC. I wonder if this is significant enough to be added to the article.
- H (Adolf Hitler) is lying on the tracks. If you do nothing, the trolley (or train) will kill him.
- But if you pull the lever, the trolley will run over 10 Hs. This would remove more evil from the world, so it is ethically better.
- On the other hand, by not pulling the lever you maximize the number of remaining Hs. This will prevent any single H from rising to power.

- Povestea lui Harap Alb (filter log)
- Description
- "Povestea lui Harap Alb" was incorrectly translated as "The Story of Harap Alb", while the correct translation is "The Story of The White Nigger". While trying to correct the page, I got the error saying that my edit is "potentially not constructive" and therefore I reported it. "Harap" means "Nigger" (black slave in a derrogatory and racist manner) and by no means the Romanian "Maur" = English "Moor"(The Moors were free people and not slaves), while "Alb" means "white". There never were black slaves in old time-Romania, so the only slaves were in fact either white or Rroma. Some scholars tried to euphemistically mask the real meaning of the words because of the communist censorship, that forbid some subjects to be discussed. Therefore their explanation is not necessarily the best.

- Well, nobody is going to put nigger (a clear pejorative) in the article... I'm also inclined to prefer the "White Black" translation ("Black African or Negro" is the 1st meaning given in the foremost Romanian dictionary, DEX, for harap/arap, but it's not indicated as derogatory); this translation is already mentioned in the article... albeit it comes in second there, even though as far as an English audience is concerned, the self-contradiction in the name would be more obvious this way. Regarding the translation of [h]arap as moor ("Arab" is the 2nd meaning in DEX): the analogy with Rroma in [stereotypical] skin color is the probable venue of this name/translation choice rather than the status of the moors as [non-]slaves... although you probably won't find this [skin color analogy] stated explicitly in the sources that prefer this translation. Also, the title of this story is usually left untranslated/as-is in English sources and only an explanation is added... which is already reasonably sourced (and mostly explained) for the above (non-pejorative) variants. 86.121.137.150 (talk) 01:01, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

Reportedly film production has been cancelled so perhaps the entire page needs to be deleted? I haven't found any precedent for keeping a non-existent movie page online on Wikipedia. If you look at the movie's official social media accounts, they stopped updating on 6 September after regular updates, which confirms that production has at least been delayed if not outright canceled. - Talk:2014 Russian military intervention in Ukraine
- Description
- Shame on you !
I wrote this : -
This is problably the worst article I have ever read on wikipedia. The scale and scope of the errors are beyond the work of idiots and ideologists.
The "factual" basis of most facts would not stand up to the critical standard of this page itself. All I can see is fashioned half truth manufactured from viable primary sources and outright lies fabricated from non viable sources. For example - quoting a woman in murmask as fact when she herself presents no facts, simply an appeal to certainty is made to which there is no further analysis.
My concern is that this article has no intention of being factual. Its intention is to collate all the points of pseudo-fact so that those who wish to engage in the farce that is western journalism can harvest what they need to perpetuate this fiction. And yet there is no way to make an edit to the text. An example of gross bias that would not even be considered for inclusion if a russian analogue was used is the "Ukrainian public opinion" which uses as it's only source an institution headed by Senator John McCain and part paid for by the US House of Representatives. (100% of ukrainians are russian speakers and vice versa - if you ever bothered to check ! you would know that the ukrainian 'language' variant is using the old russian alphabet which was revised in russia by the bolsheviks)
Other than having to log in and therefore hand ones identity over to 'rectal feeders' ( and thus there is a genuine aspect of violent intimidation dissuading contrary jurors from arguing the factual veracity of this articles content ) the core problem is that this article is a massive propagation of falsehood and i contend that it is intentional in its origin to be so. This leads those would would be inclined to counter the lamentable problem of disproving a falsehood, which of course can not be done by resorting to fact, only by qualifying sources.
So how is this to be - death to dissent - or worse death to dissenters ? Whoever it is that cares for the institution of Wikipedia itself should consider that there is a now a belief that the penalty for challenging the US narrative may lead to ones own demise.

Now I may be inclined to agree with the fact that the tone and style of his response is less than ideal, but that does nothing to nullify the validity/legitimacy of the points he is making. I also disagree that one should "confine your suggestions to concrete improvements to the article, backed up by sources", as that seems rather stifling of proper discussion. It is a talkpage after all, not a suggestions page. Why is it that we should be averse to discussion? The details of the edit in the edit filter seem to unfortunately have been deleted, so I can't take a look for myself, but if what 58.120.104.2 said is all true, then there is literally nothing wrong with his edit. Not a false positive at all, Cartoon network freak. What would make you think that charly1300.com was a reliable source? The message you received when you attempted to add it very specifically said "Wikipedia sourcing policy does not permit introduction of material from anonymous blogs such as charly1300.com", and you were attempting to introduce material from charly1300.com. Is there something I could add to the message that made it clearer that you aren't supposed to add material from charly1300.com?—Kww(talk) 23:29, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

- Description
- Add "The decision of the Court of Appeal (coram judice: Nettle, Neave and Osborn JJA) in Rich v The Queen [2014] VSCA 126 was published on 20 June 2014. Despite the High Court in Dietrich v The Queen (1992) 177 CLR 292 refusing to recognise that “due process of the law” has any force or effect in Australia, this Court of Appeal mentioned the concept and found that Rich had not been denied it (whatever due process of the law may mean in Victoria, Australia)."
"What now for Ollie Dietrich, now known as Hugo Rich? Before he can take this matter to the UN Human Rights Committee, he has to obtain the perfunctory refusal by the High Court of Australia of Special Leave or otherwise face a challenge that he failed to exhaust his legal remedies in Australia. The High Court of Australia only hear less than a dozen criminal cases a year and the refusal of Special Leave is now so routine, the UN Human Rights Committee might usefully allow Petitioners to come direct from the Courts of Appeals of the States, without imposing upon them the additional burden and expense of the High Court exercise in futility. - pedophilia (filter log)
- Description
- The biological arrested development theory, presented by homosexual psychologist James Cantor at the University of Toronto, is completely wrong,
since it is based on averages (slightly lower iq in the mean, left-handedness, lower height, etc) that at best apply to some but not to all. Psychologists typically have little to no formal education in biology, medicine or neurology. MRI scans reported are also misleading. The subjects who volunteered for MRI showed no difference in IQ average, no lower white or grey matter was found on an individual, yet averages where somehow found again from the group. The arcticle also says beginning in 2002, yet all these associations where done several decades before by other teams, sometimes finding contradictory data to what is presented here. There is also mention of MRI scans by a German team, yet these do not correspond to James Cantor findings. Also, the level of damage to the brain observed by the Germans mostly correlates to drug use, not uncommon in inmates. For a biological theory like this to hold, the "born this way" previously applied to gays, we should see all pedophiles exibiting the same traits, yet there are those pedophiles who are tall, smart, right handed, skinny, etc. 190.23.9.238 (talk) 19:46, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

- Description
- There has been an influx of external editors to a page created for the conference who have been constantly removing and falsely scrutinizing the content of the page. The information provided has been confirmed internally by primary sources and thus is not a source based upon external resources. In attempting to restore this valid factual information the trigger was tripped due to the inclusion of a video of one of the conferences speakers speaking at a past conference as a reference to confirm the conferences existence. I would like my edit approved to restore the page to contain the valid factual statements it once contained before the unwarranted destruction of the content of the page. Thank you. - Prince Michal Radzwill (filter log)
- Description
- I have made several attempts to provide a more balanced biography of this person. I wish to point out that I am retained by the Skorzewski Radzwill family as their lead international lawyer. In that capacity I have access to the family archives etc. The problem with the current entry is that the two principal sources used by the first authors are both newspaper articles which are largely based on rumor and innuendo. I do not want to white wash the entry. On the contrary, the current generation of Skorzewski' are even more scathing of Prince Michal than the newspaper articles cited. The simple fact is that the current entry is factually inaccurate and plainly incorrect on some details. For example, Prince Michal's first wife Maria, was never a Greek noble. Her father had been a Privy Counsellor in the government of Tsar Nicholas II but this did not make her of the nobility. Until she married Prince Michal, Maria did not have an entry in the Gotha. The oft repeated assertion that Prince Michal gifted Antonin to Hitler has never been proven. I should know. I am involved in the restitution claim to Antonin. Even if Michal had made such a "gift" one gets into that problematic area of whether the gift was really coerced. I have not touched any of the allegations that Prince Michal's second marriage was validly dissolved. I am waiting for details of a Polish Court Judgment published in the 1930's that determined the second divorce to be valid. I do have copies of the Probate of the Will of Prince Michael's third wife. The Court never doubted that her marriage to Prince Michael was valid. The point is this. Prince Michael deeply offended other members of his family. They were patriotic Poles. Prince Michael was not. They were pious Catholics. Prince Michael's religious beliefs are open to question. They were sober in their habits. Prince Michael was a rue'. But as Prince Michael deeply offended the Poles, to the extent that any reliance is placed on Polish sources, unless those sources are factually based or independently verifiable, they must be subject to suspicion. This is why I have attempted to tone down the entry without removing any references to Prince Michal alleged failings. I AM OF THE VIEW THAT THE CURRENT ENTRY IS MORE ACCURATE FOR THE CHAGES I HAVE MADE.

- Trying to edit a (404) ref to http://www.spinner.com/2009/03/10/propagandhi-take-on-pigs-and-hockey-announcers/ (which redirects to a homepage) with the text:
"(404, but an archive copy exists at a Wikipedia-blacklisted archive site)" and edit summary: "http://www.spinner.com/2009/03/10/propagandhi-take-on-pigs-and-hockey-announcers/ is 404 and not archived on archive.org, but is... elsewhere" I had first tried to find a copy on archive.org, but there wasn't a non-redirect copy. I previously attempted to directly link to the archive-dot-today site, but an alternate error came up informing me that direct links to the archive-dot-today site had been disallowed. So I thought the above wording would be acceptable rather than needing to remove the ref altogether (as it wouldn't be verifiable, ne?). But then I got the error: "An automated filter has identified this edit as potentially unconstructive, and it has been disallowed." So... was that an 'unconstructive edit'?

- Description
- This article describes the solo song as possibly depicting pedophilia. "...the video featuring Shia Labeouf and Maddie Ziegler, which sparked speculation that the visual portrays a pedophilia theme". This article then goes on to state that the imagery may have induced triggers to victims of pedophilia. "...naked adult and child dancing together, being accused of depicting images that may induce triggers to victims of pedophilia".
There are no victims of pedophilia. It's legal to be a pedophile. Pedophilia is not a sexual act, but a sexual preference. One dos not have to be a pedophile to be a child molester and pedophiles aren't intrinsically child molesters. This article is confusing child molestation for pedophilia. Pedophilia is not child molestation. src: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedophilia.
If this article depicts pedophilia, as the article states, than the triggering is by 'anti-pedophilia activist'. src: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-pedophile_activism
The phrase 'victims of pedophilia' needs to be changed to 'anti-pedophilia activism' to be accurate.

Slimer5Buster has been blocked for vandalism I see. However, this is a valid concern. I created the article for Power Rangers Dino Charge a couple of hours ago (it starts on Feb 7), so while mentioning the show isn't an issue, using the correct page name for the episode list is - it should be List of Power Rangers Dino Charge episodes, but that name is blacklisted. Someone needs to remove it from the blacklist. Digifiend (talk) 13:09, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
