Hello, Trafford09. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Evan Bird, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Evan Bird to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.
If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Clever folks, could you make this edit work? Trafford09 (talk) 11:29, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
- It looks OK for me, what's wrong/what are you trying to do ? Nick (talk) 12:46, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
- It does work, but the little box it produces is treated as an image, and put over to the right under the infobox. I think {{Wiktionary-inline}} will do what you want. JohnCD (talk) 18:25, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks to both of you for checking. I'd not noticed that (as John said) it had put it over to the right under the infobox. So I've changed it to use John's suggestion. Cheers, Trafford09 (talk) 22:19, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
Turns out that they've renamed it to the 'Rainbow List', so I went ahead and created the article there. It's pretty basic right now, but let me know what you think! — Sasuke Sarutobi (talk) 09:46, 26 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Trafford. It makes sense that Wikipedia already has an official stance on gender-neutral language. I should have realized I wasn't the first person to realize this was an issue.
The Wikipedia style guide asks us to use gender-neutral language where it can be done with clarity and precision, but I agree that writing he/she/they is clunky and distracting. The singular they is just as inclusive, and much more natural to employ. The page defining gender-neutral language says that there is no consensus either for or against the singular they, so I'll make that change to preserve the flow of the original article. Sorry for making things more complicated than they needed to be! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:6:8080:2F5:21D8:906E:B349:8C16 (talk) 04:07, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

"BBC covered the event on its Newsnight programme" Do you have a citation for that, even just a youtube video?Dairyfarmer777 (talk) 15:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry; at this moment, no. I watched the programme though, and indeed 'borrowed' several screen-shots where they used painted Go stones as analogies for, say, parts of the Sino-US economies. The 30-minute article played on the Obama gift throughout, to examine Sino-US relations. It's very frustrating that, up to now, I've had no success on web searches, Newsnight & indeed my own pc archives. I've not given up though. Maybe I can search my own pc better!

Speedy deletion nomination of Prussiate
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Prussiate, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- The page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. (See section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Tuanzebe
I understand what you were trying to do – Axel Tuanzebe redirects to Manchester United F.C. Reserves and Academy, so the logical thing to do would be to bold "Tuanzebe" in the article per WP:R#PLA. However, I don't think WP:R#PLA applies to text that comes halfway down the page; it even says "insignificant or minor redirects can skip this". The only reason Tuanzebe redirects there in the first place is that he's not notable enough for his own article yet. Furthermore, bolding Tuanzebe's name and not doing the same to any others makes the reader wonder what's special about Tuanzebe; the answer is, nothing. – PeeJay 11:05, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, and I've just noticed per the above link to Axel Tuanzebe, that article doesn't even exist, let alone redirect to the reserves page... – PeeJay 11:06, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Tom. I'm glad you understood what I did. Btw, it's not Axel Tuanzebe that redirects, it's Tuanzebe. What distinguishes Tuanzebe from all other Academy players is, I think:
- he's United's incumbent Young Player of the Year, and
- he's been selected for the first team bench, for a PL game.
- Hi Tom. I'm glad you understood what I did. Btw, it's not Axel Tuanzebe that redirects, it's Tuanzebe. What distinguishes Tuanzebe from all other Academy players is, I think:
- But it's prob. not worth falling out over an emboldening, so I've taken the bold off. BW, Trafford09 (talk) 11:47, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello
Hello you recently reverted some changes on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nolan_Bushnell
The user had corrected Nolan Bushnell's number of children from 7 to 8. Text on the actual wikipedia page already supports this, so unless that text is incorrect (in which case that should be updated) this is a correct edit and I feel you should re-implement those changes.
The text on that page supporting this is the follow: "Bushnell's first marriage was to Paula Rochelle Nielson with whom he has 2 children. Bushnell's oldest child, Alissa, worked with him at uWink. His second marriage was to Nancy with whom he has 6 children."
The text currently contradicts what is in the personal information box so I'll leave it up to you to decide which you change, but as it stands it's worse than the edit you reverted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZZZIMAWAKE (talk • contribs) 13:11, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

- Good catch, that original move certainly looks like an error. Patching it up, without losing any of the edit history that has taken place in the meantime, is likely going to take an admin to do histmerges. Once the original page was recreated, which happened shortly after the mistaken move, it is no longer in the power of non-privileged editors to put things right.
- We hope to find someone who can help fix this soon. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:34, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
