Arbitration case request declined

[edit]

Hi Silver seren. The Wikipediocracy-related conduct case request has been declined. While the arbitrators were closely divided, there was not an absolute majority to accept the case. For the Arbitration Committee, SilverLocust 💬 06:40, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed some of the linked articles to Sonya Friedman appear to actually be for another Sonya Friedman. I think she may meet GNG. Thriley (talk) 18:28, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That'll be...interesting to try and separate out the sources. Maybe adding opera as a keyword will be enough. I'll add her to the list! SilverserenC 21:46, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Did I ask you before if this actress meets Wikipedia standards for notability? FloridaArmy (talk) 23:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if you did, but she seems like a good option. I'll add her to the list! SilverserenC 23:32, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments

[edit]

Hello, Silverseren,

I have a great respect for you as an editor and your many years of contributing to this project. But I'm concerned by some comments you are making at Wikipedia:Administrator recall/Fastily. I understand that you are a vocal proponent of this process. As for my own view, I think there should be a recall option but I'm not a fan of the current form of it.

But my point is that it seems like a few people have managed to push your buttons and you are making sweeping generalizations about our administrators. Yes, there are some who object to recall even existing but most admins have chosen not to participate in the process and are leaving it to editors to consider. I myself have only commented in the discussion section and that was general comments on being an admin, not on Fastily. This is only the second administrator recall, most administrators weren't following the discussion of this reform, were surprised when it appeared and they are reacting rather predictably under the assumption that they could be next to be recalled. It's hard to be an active administrator and not make enemies along the way, it's the nature of the job. And the feeling that you could be next to be recalled not a good feeling to have, even if I acknowledge that there has to be a system to remove admins who don't meet our standards for competency and civility. But everyone, editors and admins, is still getting acquainted with the whole recall petition process and it looks like it is going to undergoing even more changes in the near future, too.

I just hope that more longterm editors and admins don't take the bait when reading comments and they try to desescalate the emotional intensity of this experience which exists, not just for Fastily but for others. You have valuable feedback to make but please, let's not take criticisms of the process, which are valid, be taken personally. This recall process is probably the biggest change in our system of administration since I've started editing, even bigger than the admin elections and there are bound to be strong feelings about it. That's all that I wanted to say, thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 08:07, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Sonya Friedman

[edit]

On 14 November 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sonya Friedman, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that psychologist Sonya Friedman recommends that women create a totem, a collection of objects that represent important turning points in their lives? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sonya Friedman. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sonya Friedman), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
