How to make redirects appear green to you

Here is a trick to make redirected wikilinks stand out by turning them green instead of blue! This is especially useful when working on navigation aids like lists and outlines, where you need to be sure a link leads to where it says it links to. This quick and easy solution uses customized CSS:

Go to your Preferences, click on the "Appearance" tab, and click the "Custom CSS" to the right of the skin you use. It opens a page to edit, and you can add the following code (just copy and paste it):

	.mw-redirect {
		color: #006633;
	}
	.mw-redirect:visited {
		color: #009900;
	}
	.mw-redirect:hover {
		color: #990000;
	}
	.mw-redirect:active {
		color: #990000;
	}
Save the page, and reload (bypass your browser cache) and/or (Purge) the Wikipedia server to force the new CSS to be included. All redirects will now show up as green links! If you prefer a different color, you can modify them by using six-digit hex codes.

Fair use rationale for Image:2006_AVMeiyappan.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2006_AVMeiyappan.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. AfD closure for A M Nair

Hello, I was just letting you know that when you closed A M Nair's afd discussion, it wasn't closed properly and broke the formatting for the day's afd log page. I redid the afd page using the at and ab tags which made it work properly. I think what happened is that when you accidentally used the at template at the bottom, you corrected it by adding the ab template but did not remove the code that the incorrect at template left behind. I took this picture personally with my own camera. I have stated under licensing that: I, the copyright holder of this work, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide. In case this is not legally possible,I grant any entity the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law. Request for Oversight

Hi!How are you? I just wanted to make a request . Would it be possible to remove the edits with the abusive and racist language used by NisarKand's sock [2], [3],[4], [5] and the related discussion on User:EncMstr's talk page [6],[7],[8],[9],[10],[11],[12],[13],[14],[15],[16],[17]. The issue, I feel, is very much resolved and User:EncMstr has archived the discussion. So, I feel that there is no reason for these edits to remain. Also, the exchanges I had with EncMstr and NisarKand appear in Google Search results [18]. I never wanted such a thing to happen. I also wish to mention here that NisarKand's activites are prohibited as per IPC and PPC sections 499 and 504.-RavichandarMy coffee shop 02:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't see how they fall under RFO, it's just a person swearing. If you are worried about google can you ask EncMstr if he can blank that part of the archive for you. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 03:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of T. Muthuswamy Iyer

Too many capitals

Please. See my recent edits to Randor Guy and T. Muthuswamy Iyer. Wikipedia:Manual of Style clearly says there shouldn't be so many capital letters. The first letter in a heading is capitalized; so are other letters if there's a proper noun or similar reason to capitalize, but you shouldn't make an initial letter capital merely because it's in a heading. Cool. I'm doing OK and bogged down with work after I took one more reponsibility. Porbably an excuse for not contributing enough to wiki. All I do these days is to check my watchlist and revert changes or comment on them, if they need such actions. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC).
