SpongeBob S5 reception summary

Hey Mediran, wanted to drop you a friendlier note about my edit here where I removed the introductory sentence in the Reception section. Summaries of critical response should be left to companies like Metacritic.com, who specialize in looking at critical response and reporting on that response. "Generally positive", "Generally negative", etc. The attitude at WikiProject Film, for example, suggests that summarizing critical response may be construed as synthesis, because a conclusion is drawn that is not expressly stated in the sources. Now if the introductory summary was supported by a site like Metacritic, I don't think I'd have any objection. Okay, I'll shut up now. Just wanted to explain a little better why I deleted your sentence. I still think you do very good work! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:20, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

I noticed you put this article to WP:GAN. However, it is graded at a List-class. Was it transformed into an article, or is it still a list? If it is a list, then it will unfortunately need to be quick failed. But, perhaps it can become a featured list candidate . Hi Sportsguy! Whilst it is list-class, it is still an article. BTW, you may have been mistaking it as a stand-alone list that is when GAN-ed, will be quick failed. Season articles, like this, is not regarded as a stand-alone list. There are many season articles that are also a good articles. GAN December 2013 Backlog Drive

Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days!

In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00.

At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge.

Proposal for the Creation of an Animation Barnstar

Hi, Mediran. I noticed that you are a member of the Animation WikiProject and wanted to share a proposal with you. There have been several times that I have wanted to award an Animation Barnstar to a fellow editor, only to be disappointed that one still doesn't exist. The closest thing that we have right now is the Film Barnstar, but this is only applicable in certain situations, since animation can be found in both film and television. I would like to see an Animation Barnstar become a reality; especially since one already exists for the sub-topic of Anime and Manga. In order for this to become official though, a consensus will have to be reached.

If this is something that you would be interested in supporting, then please let me know on my talk page, as I am sending this message to all of the members of the Animation WikiProject and will not be adding each editor's talk page to my watchlist.

Stephen Hillenburg ephemeral information

Hey Mediran, I saw this edit and I was thinking that it might be best to avoid specific episode totals like "The show...has since aired 356 episodes." These types of statements are ephemeral, that is, they are only accurate for a short time, which require that editors be ever vigilant and update these numbers, and they also create another opportunity for vandals to sneakily mess with the article data. I'm not a big fan of these ongoing tallies in article infoboxes (but that's another story) but I certainly think they should be avoided in article prose. Would you object if we said something more broad like "The show...has aired over 350 episodes"? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:59, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

GOCE December 2013 Blitz wrap-up and January Drive invitation

The December blitz ran from December 8–14. The theme for this blitz was articles tied in some way to religion. Seven editors knocked out 20 articles over the course of the week. Our next blitz will be in February, with a theme to be determined. Feel free to make theme suggestions at the Guild talk page!

The January 2014 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on January 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in October and November 2012 and complete all requests placed before the end of 2013. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in October and November 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there!

Coordinator election: Voting is open for candidates to serve as GOCE coordinators from 1 January through 30 June 2014. Voting will run until the end of December. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.
