Hey Luigi, do you remember me? It's Mr. Inox, I'm back. How have you been? It's been over ten years and we still didn't manage to find the last airdate for I Am Weasel. I've been watching and improving the article for all these years as anonymous. I'm the one who improved it in 2017. It's not perfect, but it's way better than years ago. Lord Zaxor (talk) 07:31, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mr. Inox/Lord Zaxor. It's good to read that you're still around. I just finished rereading the old thread about the I Am Weasel broadcast on November 26, 1999, from the ccffreak YouTube video. I can't believe that it's been this long and there's still no conclusion on the matter. Thank you for your contributions to the article. Hopefully we will get this issue resolved some day! — Paper Luigi TC 02:32, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So, this thing has been around for such a long time, I was even thinking about asking David Feiss himself. lol He was recently interviewed by some YouTube channel, by the way. Lord Zaxor (talk) 05:49, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article List of Shout! Studios releases has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTCATALOG; WP:INDISCRIMINATE. All lists of this nature have previously been deleted: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Criterion Collection releases (2nd nomination); Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Powerhouse Films releases; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of British Film Institute releases; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Twilight Time releases; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of BBC home video releases, the list goes on...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --woodensuperman 12:23, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and@Woodensuperman,
I DpDd it. Feel free to redirect it to the Shout! Studios if you think that solves the problem. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 15:57, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've sent it to AfD. --woodensuperman 16:07, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hi Paper Luigi. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 17:33, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

[edit]

Hello Paper Luigi,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Reminders:

CS1 error on Donkey Kong 64

[edit]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Donkey Kong 64, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 04:13, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Message from Belko05

[edit]

I would like to thank you for actually looking at the source I put for the article, "Christine Cavanaugh", I just wanted to make sure you guys were actually looking inside the source. It was a test and I was just trying to make sure you guys weren't just looking at the title and making assumptions. I wasn't trying to rush my sources and mess up the article. Belko05 (talk) 14:16, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No harm, no foul, Belko05. I've seen some variant of cancer added and removed over the years, hence the hidden comment. It's excusable this time, though I would advise you not to repeat your test in case you get different results next time. I'd also like to welcome you to the site! Is there a particular subject that sparks your interest here? — Paper Luigi TC 04:39, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No not really. Just random. Belko05 (talk) 18:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you added List of sundown towns in the United States to hundreds of US city articles. Unfortunately, many of the articles you added this list to make absolutely no mention of being a sundown town in the text of the article. I have tried to remove your error from some of these articles, but as I said, you added it to hundreds of them. Could you please review your mass edit and remove the erroneous placement of this list? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:11, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That is indeed my error, and I will fix it. Thank you for going through the articles that make no mention of sundown towns. I added every location in Category:Sundown towns in the United States by state and its subcategories, which was naive in hindsight as it's apparent the category was bloated. I appreciate that you removed the category links from those articles as well. I'll start going through the remaining ones right away. — Paper Luigi TC 02:24, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed all the locations on the list and removed categories and most see also links for articles with no specific mention of the sundown town practice. All locations not categorized as sundown towns on WP have been removed from the list article. For towns with historically racist attitudes lacking the sundown town characterization, I have removed the category from the town's article but kept the see also link. — Paper Luigi TC 04:48, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BLP - Carl Thoma

[edit]

Hi Paper Luigi, I drafted an article for Carl Thoma, an art collector and businessman originally from the Oklahoma panhandle, whose Thoma Scholars Program offers scholarships to students from the Oklahoma panhandle, the Texas panhandle, and eastern New Mexico. I noticed that you worked on the Oklahoma panhandle article, and thought that my article might interest you, as well. Additionally, as you are a new page reviewer. I would appreciate your expertise in reviewing my article - if you agree that it's ready for main space, would you mind moving it? Thank you very much.
