Typo redirect Alexandru Lonescu

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Alexandru Lonescu, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Alexandru Lonescu is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Alexandru Lonescu, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Awesome!

Hi, I went and got a copy off of Amazon since I figured, who else would bother improving the article? It would be awesome if you would clean it up since I don't know the exact form that Wikipedia wants for cites (probably not APA...) and you probably do! Also, I'm out of the country for a few more days (but clearly I have occasional Internet, just I'm not on vacation so am kinda busy). I also hope to look through some old Underwood material and take a photo or two of an older logo or two, if I can figure out the dates of them. Thanks for the teamwork and assistance!--Wmjames (talk) 23:12, 24 May 2008 (UTC) PS: You have the Goldblith book... Interesting! Not something many would have... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wmjames (talkcontribs) 23:13, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Chris -- if I (by ignorance) didn't quite do something to Wikipedia standards with the copyright tags or image placement and size, I'd love it if you could point that out (I'll fix it though -- ignorance is no excuse). Yeah the first image seems a bit small.... I'll go read the Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Displayed_image_size oh that doesn't give a ton of guidance.... Huh, I wish Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Image_size gave the syntax to change the size (honestly hunting for WP syntax is like pulling teeth, and HTML knowledge doesn't help). Thanks for the pointer! Nice work on the citations, wow, though, that is some ugly citation list (speaking as an APA academic).--Wmjames (talk) 23:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, that's how you do it (resizing). Nice! I hope you approve of the size for the lead image (350), I think it is approximately what Wikipedians have decided is good for a lead image. I am glad you pointed that out, I just used the default syntax and thought that was the way it had to be. This is much better, good call.--Wmjames (talk) 23:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Italian communes

Just FYI, the likes of Pocol are not Italian communes, which refers to a specific administrative unit at a higher level than small villages like Pocol. I know, because I've just made sure that we have articles for all 8,101 comuni, so was a bit surprised to see you creating a new one. ;-/ And just in general, there seems to be a bit of a consensus to redirect Italian villages to their "parent" comune in the first instance and talk about them in the comune article until they outgrow it. I've given Pocol the benefit of the doubt for now, even though it doesn't even have an article on it.wiki, just because of the potential to talk about the cemetery - you might want to incorporate some of the stuff in it:Sacrario Militare di Pocol. And I've wikified it a bit - feel free to expand. FlagSteward (talk) 13:25, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

templates for articles without citations

As important and helpful as putting a template on an article for not having any references (and not as important and helpful or good for your brain or the article to find the references for it) -- it seems to me like when an article gets the reference, the person (or bot) that placed the template on the article should be astute enough to remove it.

I put a reference on an article that you very thoughtfully placed a template upon, I patiently waited months and months to see the same thoughful removal of the template and I am wondering when it is going to happen....

And by the way, Happy Clean Up Your Mess, Please day! -- carol (talk) 02:49, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Olympic Templates

First, I want to say good job on re-jiggering the templates at the bottom of the "sport at the Summer/Winter Olympic Games" pages. I was wondering if you could show me how to break some of the templates apart. For example, the bottom of the Baseball at the 2008 Summer Olympics page has the OVERALL Olympic template that shows the dates and everything. I think this is REALLY redundant and not necessary for specific sport pages to have this template. For some reason I can't break apart those templates without screwing the whole thing up. Any help would be appreciated. Perakhantu (talk) 04:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

50 Albums that Changed Music

I love your list that you have posted on your website, but I had to make a correction on your list. On #20, you had Sweethearts of the Rodeo instead of Sweetheart of the Rodeo. The former was a country duo from 1986 to 1991 (discolsure: I am a fan of theirs, having owned three of their albums) while the latter was The Byrds' 1968 classic album. Just wanted to let you know of that. Chris (talk) 13:48, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the correction! That list is part of a long standing plan to make appropriate references to some of these lists in the appropriate articles. Under copyright laws we are not allowed to have articles (or lists) which simply copy the information. I am wondering if a Category would be acceptable - but I'm not sure, and I haven't yet got round to checking it out. SilkTork *YES! 16:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Flatwater Racing World Championships renaming

Why would I mind if you rename that article? I'm not particularly interested in it. John Anderson (talk) 22:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

However, when thinking about it, isn't it an unnecessary renaming? There isn't any other world championship in the sport of flatwater racing than the ICF one, is there? Well, now since you have already made the change, let's let it be as it is. John Anderson (talk) 23:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Redirect to non-existent page

Hi there. I noticed you created Tim Weiskotter as a redirect to Tim Weiskötter. That page doesn't exist yet, so a bot or admin will probably be along shortly to delete the redirect. I don't entirely agree with that, but I'm just letting you know why this might be done. One way to avoid this is to create the page Tim Weiskötter first, and then create the redirects later. Karl Brunner (luge) + Template:Footer European Champions Luge Men's Doubles

Hello, I saw you just reversed my contributes in Karl Brunner and in Template:Footer European Champions Luge Men's Doubles.

Just to avoid a edit-war, please note that Karl Brunner quit in 1982 and it was a different Brugger to win in 1984.

György Kolonics

Hello,

Thank you very much for your additions to the György Kolonics article, it is very much appreciated. Very sad news for all Hungarian sports fans :(

Just one minor correction about your edits: he was not present at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, and the ICF article is apparently wrong on that Beijing would have been his sixth olympics. Please check the following page, which lists the Hungarian participants on the 1988 Olympic Games: http://euro2004.nemzetisport.hu/cikk.php?cikk=58416&oldal=5, "kajak-kenu" section (though it's in Hungarian but it can be read well)

So I am going to revert this one, but once again thanks for your contributions.

regards, Gruen (talk) 14:24, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
