License tagging for Image:Aparnapopat.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aparnapopat.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:04, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Nidhi Razdan
A tag has been placed on Nidhi Razdan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of Indian Raga Project
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Indian Raga Project, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ArbCom 2019 election voter message
The article Ravi Venkatesan has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Cryptic Canadian 03:23, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Ravi Venkatesan moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Ravi Venkatesan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. John from Idegon (talk) 17:22, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- @John from Idegon: Greetings. I just saw your post above re: Draft:Ravi Venkatesan.
- Needed some assistance on the next steps here.
- I see your note that the article doesn't meet the guidelines for Notability with not enough independent sources. I would like some assistance in identifying enough independent sources. The only reason I say this is that as a Business Executive, I have no doubt that someone who is the Chairman of the board of some of the leading companies in India (Infosys, Bank of Baroda, and formerly Cummins, and Microsoft India) should qualify as notable. If I am doing something wrong in identifying these independent sources, please let me know.
- For now, I have some leading newspaper articles, citations from foundations such as the Rockefeller foundation etc. While I think that these should qualify as independent sources, I am happy to work on identifying additional sources.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

The article CB Insights has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Per WP:NCORP Nothing significantly notable that distinguishes this platform from similar platforms.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Comatmebro (talk) 04:02, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Comatmebro: tried writing some notes to help drive home the context for this article to exist.
Context
CB Insights is one of the top three (by usage and revenue) market intelligence platforms for tracking venture capital, and funding activities for private companies. Link from one of CB Insights' competitors here.
The company is considered a leader in its domain and a simple test would be searching CB Insights on Wikipedia and seeing the number of articles, particularly in the private equity, venture capital domains. Link here.
Sources
Sources for this article are quite diverse
1. Newspapers and Media: E.g. New York Times, TechCrunch
2. Market Intelligence Trackers: E.g. Crunchbase, Linkedin Company Intelligence
3. Other Advisory Firms: E.g. Pricewaterhouse Coopers
The company is quite a significant one in the private equity / venture capital domain because it fills a void that very few can fill. i.e. market intelligence / venture capital information for private startups. Currently, they are tracking an annual revenue of ~$50 million, and have ~300 employees. Kaisertalk (talk) 04:32, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello. There's no need to disambiguate draft articles with "(WIP)". All draft articles are works in progress. Thanks. 82.132.212.194 (talk) 08:14, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- It's also important to tag the resulting redirects in mainspace for R2 speedy deletion. There's a tool available to automate this at user:Evad37/MoveToDraft. Thanks, 82.132.212.194 (talk) 08:26, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- @82.132.212.194:. Thanks for this note. Most (almost all) of my moves do not have WIP. This one had one because of a conflict at the landing namespace. That said, the script that you shared is great! Thanks for that. I also realized that in my moves, I had not been removing the categories on the landing page. This script should take care of that. Hello Ktin. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Author's Mandatory Response to the question.
- I absolutely assure everyone that I have no Conflict of Interest, on any of the topics that I edit. My edits typically fall into these categories - Startups, persons of prominence, Coffee, and current affairs. I am not affiliated, related to, nor do I have a COI with any of the articles that I have edited.
- I further certify that I am not paid for any of my online actions, including edits to Wikipedia articles.
Thanks. Ktin (talk) 14:33, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ktin, Thank you for your response. Perhaps you understand that the nature of the articles I have seen has led me to this conclusion. I see references that are promotional and articles that do not assert nor verify notability. It depresses me seeing so much of you work at AfD. This should not be happening, but it is down to the quality of the work Fiddle Faddle 15:50, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent,
- Thanks for the note. Is there anything else required on this front? i.e. the COI / Paid editing charge. As you can imagine this is a serious one, and questions my integrity, even if not intended to. If there is nothing else required on this front that is good.
- Regarding the AfDs, I am happy to work article by article and type out my response. It would have to happen over the weekend, since today is a workday. But, I will definitely get to it over the weekend. Ktin (talk) 16:18, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- There is nothing to do. It is not so much an accusation as my presenting a suspicion and your telling me and the world that I am not correct. I accept your assertion, freely given.
- With the articles, each of those that I have seen needs to be improved substantially. I have not commented on all of them, or I don't think I have. You've been around long enough to know that these cannot fly as written and referenced. It is the same with one I returned to Draft space, which is how I came across your work. I spend a great deal of time reviewing AFC drafts, and none of these woudl have passed muster. Even the merest stub must have an assertion and verification of notability by significant coverage, independent of the topic in WP:RS to remain an article or to become one Fiddle Faddle 16:23, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent,
- Good deal. As you can imagine, I operate with an integrity above all else approach. Hence, this left me a tad shaken as I started my day.
- Re: the AfDs - I totally see where you are coming from, and I will work on my notes making my arguments for a keep, or accept the recommendations as made. As you can imagine, between the two, from my perspective, the former took more mindspace than the latter.
- Cheers and have a good day! Ktin (talk) 16:34, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- I was hesitant to drop this template on your page. Then I considered that none of us is immune to being asked to state our business. So I have asked and you have answered. Most important, we have not fallen out.
- With AfD articles my advice is to make the article beyond reproach, and then advise the discussion that you have done so. I have no idea of the expiry dates, but it seems to me that you have a clear run. Advise me on any where I have expressed an opinion ad I will form an unbiased view and either reverse or confirm my current opinion. I'll drop two comments I use for drafts at AFC below:
- (for things) We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
- (for living and recently dead people) For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and is in WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
- Those may be of assistance now and in the future Fiddle Faddle 17:02, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent,
- Can I ask you for some guidance here -- CB Insights. This article has a "paid edit" banner plastered on top. Please can you help me with the required actions there.
- I will definitely work on a response to the AfD discussion for this article post my work day.
- Thanks, Ktin (talk) 17:42, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- I have removed the banner as a direct action following your declaration Fiddle Faddle 17:45, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent, Thanks. Much appreciated. Ktin (talk) 17:46, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Technically I am sure you could have removed it, though that is quasi-wise. I felt it proper to do on your behalf. Normally one might ask the editor who placed it Fiddle Faddle 17:47, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent, Hey, this is fine. You do it or I do it, it's the same thing. Besides that, our lookout is... he/she follows your guidelines and do not deviate. - Hatchens (talk) 03:11, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hatchens, Timtrent - Hey folks. I see a {{paid-edit}} banner on two of my other articles Mark Vanhoenacker and Skyfaring: A Journey with a Pilot.
- Not sure what is required now to remove this banner. My COI and Non Paid-edit self-certification is still active on my page. What else is required now? Ktin (talk) 16:20, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ktin, I am nowhere near any pages you have edited and have not looked. I think you must discuss this with whoever placed the templates. May I point you quietly at WP:OWN? Unless you are the sole editor there it then it may be aimed elsewhere Fiddle Faddle 16:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Timtrent, not sure I followed the sole-editor part. Is there somewhere else that I need to post the self-certification? I fear that having a Paid-edit banner on an AfD nomination does not send the right signal. Let me know, thanks. I appreciate your inputs. Ktin (talk) 17:22, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ktin, What I mean is that if there is more than one editor of an article then the banner may be for another editor.
- AfD ought to pay no heed to a UPE banner Fiddle Faddle 17:55, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Timtrent, Got it! Unfortunately, I am the only significant editor on both pages. hatchens - please can you help let know if any other information is required on that front? Ktin (talk) 18:08, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

I have noted something you said at AN/I
I note that you are concerned about discrimination. It is a matter than concerns me, too. I wish to tell you clearly that in all our interactions all I have been concerned about is fairness. I think, though your comment was not directed at me but at another, that I have also given you cause for concern with regard to discrimination. I wish to apologise that I have given you that cause for concern. I will work hard to eliminate that fault in my behaviour. Fiddle Faddle 16:22, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent, None taken from your side, Tim, nor from any of my interactions with you. I continue to remain appreciative of our interactions. We do disagree on a few things (e.g. that LiveMint interaction), but, we have been handling it extremely civilly. Regards. Ktin (talk) 16:31, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ktin, I am pleased. Nonetheless it has given me something to think about.
- Pure disagreement is fine. With Livemint I have started the discussion at WP:RSN as you know. Our disagreement has been worthwhile if it creates clarity. I don't mind which way the decision goes and have not checked, nor will I for a while Fiddle Faddle 16:45, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Timtrent, Totally agree with you there. Now, back to work. Regards. Ktin (talk) 16:46, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
