Rangers were not dissolved
Good morning. You reverted my correction which was removing "dissolved" beside Rangers. The page is about football clubs, and in dozens of other examples on that page - most recently Bolton Wanderers, but many others - the football club exits administration operated by a new company that has acquired its business and assets, whilst the old company is liquidated or dissolved. In none of those other cases is "DISSOLVED" added to the exited administration column as it suggests the football club itself was dissolved. Please respect consistency and accuracy on the page. Thanks. Gefetane (talk) 08:15, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
I've seen the edit you've made to the Administration page and it is still incorrect and inconsistent with the rest of the page. The old company hasn't been dissolved. Just like "dying" is very different from "dead", "being dissolved" is not "dissolved". Why you insist on this factual inaccuracy is very odd. Especially when literally dozens of other football clubs listed on that page, that exited admin via a Newco, had their Oldco dissolved/liquidated and it is not specified at all, as you insist on doing with Rangers. Will you be adding 'old company dissolved' to Leeds United's entry, or the many other examples? No, and we both know why. Quite sad from an experienced wiki editor. Rowspanning in international goals tables
Hi
Thanks for updating Martin Boyle's international goals.
Just a note to say that the consensus is to not rowspan stadiums, competition (or any other column) unless multiple goals were scored in one game - otherwise, it's purely coincidence that this happened and rowspanning is not the best way to present this.
This has been discussed at WT:FOOTY - see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 144#Rowspanning in player international goals table.
Cheers

Yeah looks like a typical half arsed effort from the SFA. Would not be surprised if it takes years to update that site. I mean Australia is mentioned twice - but we played them 3 times. Are they really classing the Canada thrashing as a full international? Joe Harper scored 5 in that, is this now a new national record?? Not that it is necessarily a fully reliable guide, but the Canada men's national soccer team results (unofficial matches) article doesn't even mention it. Look at the effort that has gone in here to try and gather even basic information on that match. And as you said, why not Israel if their FA already recognises it? I'm all for the players being more fully recognised for taking part in the tour, but not convinced that its matches should count. And if they're now insisting some should - 54 years later - they could at least be clear which matches they're talking about!! I'll try to keep an eye on it and let you if there's anything further. Wonder if they will upgrade some of the earlier matches that other Federations also class as full - or is it just a Sir Alex PR exercise? Crowsus (talk) 14:04, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- Just to add, I've found these: EEN article stating it was a Canda Olympic squad we played (maybe they saw that here or at London Hearts, RSSSF just states Canada but it's stretching all credibility, the goalie who made lots of saves didn't even get a full cap at any point), and Scotsman article stating Israel is included and also suggrsting all 3 Oz games are, which at least makes sense. Also mentions Canada tho which would be a huge cringe to include. Definitely think we should wait until there's better clarification before changing much more. Will need a lot of annoying wee adjustments to the results lists. Crowsus (talk) 19:33, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Ways to improve 1964–65 Kilmarnock F.C. season
Hello, Jmorrison230582,
Thank you for creating 1964–65 Kilmarnock F.C. season.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the article may not be suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}

The article George Hunter (footballer, born 1996) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not notable. Hasn't played at a fully professional level.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello - thanks for your message on my chat page re an edit you reverted on the Scotland in Union page. I believe that Twitter is a usable source, given that there are regular mainstream media uses of politicians' and celebrities' tweets as sources. I would also suggest that Keith Brown is not a disinterested party, and thus it is unbalanced to quote his (unevidenced) opinion without having a counter-view. I did actually delete the Keith Brown quote for this reason, but when you re-added it I thought the best way to improve the article was to add an alternative view rather than potentially to get into a debate over Keith Brown's biases. Always good to discuss these things, and thanks for your engagement. Hope my note helps the discussion. User: BillFinder20 — Preceding undated comment added 10:31, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again - seen your other message. I did then look at the Wikipedia sources page, and concede that they do say Twitter isn't a reliable source - I am a bit surprised by that, but fair enough then! No dramas with doing without the John Rentoul on that basis. I still think it's a bit one-sided only to have an SNP view, but as you say it's in a newspaper so that makes it OK source for Wikipedia, and I guess most people will realise that Keith Brown has an agenda (insofar as anyone is actually interested in this niche subject).
