Please stop this bot!!
It is making a series of bad and unauthorised edits. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 17:43, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- You need to be more specific. I operate multiple bots doing a number of different tasks. — JJMC89 17:49, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- JJMC89 bot III. It keeps moving Category:Australian military personnel of the International Force for East Timor to Category:Australian military personnel of the International Force for Timor-Leste, which is an error and unauthorised. I have asked for the bot to be blocked. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 18:15, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- It is doing exactly what it is being is instructed (and authorized) to do. As stated at the top of the page, you should bring your issue up with the admin that the instructed the bot. Also, you should stop edit warring with it – it won't get you anywhere. — JJMC89 18:21, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- The bot needs to be fixed before it can be run again. It should not have attempted to override my edits, it should not ignore the nobots template, and it should remove the request when completed and not go into a loop. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 08:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Not all bots are integrated with the nobots template (this one was approved not to), and you shouldn't be trying to use the nobots template to override a bot from making changes that it has been authorized by an admin to make. Photos of Japan (talk) 09:52, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Nothing needs to be fixed since the bot is functioning as intended and approved. I'm not aware of any bot that is exclusion compliant for page moves. (Nothing using pywikibot is, unless implemented additionally by the operator.) This task has not had exclusion compliance for page moves since 2015 (as Cydebot, my bot's predecessor). Your opinions on how it should function are noted and will not be implemented. You should not abuse your page mover permissions to reverse administrative actions – you should discuss them with the relevant admin instead. — JJMC89 19:47, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- I did bring it up with the relevant admin - yourself. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 05:27, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

ANI protection
Noticed you protected ANI due to Persistent sockpuppetry
until the 15th. Just wondering if that 50* was a LTA, because there's been a fair bit of productive IP contributions on ANI lately, so was curious how come one socking/proxying edit qualified for protection. Thanks! - The Bushranger One ping only 07:58, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- The IP is MidAtlanticBaby. Nobody (talk) 08:11, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Animation assessment template
Just wanted to ask if you could double-check your recent edit to {{WPANIMATION assessment quality work group level}}. While the changes you've made to other WPFILM templates had the intended effect of moving them from "articles" categories to "pages" categories, that one template specifically is still autogenerating and transcluding the old "articles" categories instead of the updated "pages" categories, leaving them as non-empty category redirects even though all of their other siblings with different templates on them have already moved over — so I just wanted to ask if you could review whether there was an error in your edit to that particular template. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 13:45, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, Bearcat. I don't think there is an error, but there could be a category that was missed. Do you have an example category? — JJMC89 01:48, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Downgrade Magnolia677's talk page to Autoconfirmed Protect
Can you downgrade User talk:Magnolia677 to Autoconfirmed protect? I need to leave them a message and its preventing me from doing so. JonTheSucculentDude (talk) 01:40, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- I can, but I won't because Magnolia is the target of harassment. — JJMC89 17:52, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- ( If they use wikimail is that also blocked for us non extended confirmed users? JonTheSucculentDude (talk) 18:34, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- They don't have an e-mail address associated with their account.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:39, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- Then how can I propose a "Send a talk page message" for those extended protected talk pages that can be posted once like a admin approves it or something. THere should be a way users can still post there while being moderated JonTheSucculentDude (talk) 18:53, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not going to address your general question, but as far as Magnolia is concerned and without knowing what you want to tell them, post your message on your own Talk page pinging Magnolia. Not a guarantee that they will see it, but they should.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:59, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
