Your submission at Articles for creation: Air India Flight 829 (April 7)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected and cannot be resubmitted. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Sohom Datta was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Wikipedia is not news. A aviation incident that was forgotten relatively quickly does not meet the barrier for being included in the encyclopedia.

Edit on Airbus A330

[edit]

Hello there, I saw your message on my talk page. The edit you reverted was not a test, it was a correction based on the final report on the accident (check page 2, or 7 in the pdf), which only says there were 6 causalities on the ground. I applied this correction to as many other articles as I could find as well. ThatFlyingSquid (talk) 16:22, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that revert. I was looking at the wrong sources. CreatorOfMinecraftHerobrine (talk) 17:07, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why'd you remove the (initially X) notations from Air Florida flight 90's infobox?

[edit]

My understanding is that it is common practice across multiple plane crash-related articles to use such notations where the mortality and injury counts change after the crash. Removing them could be disruptive editing. Ellenor2000 (talk) 20:54, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How quickly people die doesn't change the ultimate number of people dying. It doesn't change history does it? Therefore, its redundant stating the "initially X" notations. It says all of this in here, "to summarize" info. CreatorOfMinecraftHerobrine (talk) 13:08, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 15:42, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Use infobox plane1

[edit]

@Aviationwikiflight@Midori No Sora@Ivebeenhacked@Maungapohatu Should we use infobox plane1 on articles with one aircraft as US Airways Flight 1549 or American Airlines Flight 77 ? I think use plane1 then the image will be in a more visible position. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 14:41, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I agree with this. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 16:05, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, Template:Infobox aircraft occurrence is against this. We could only use plane1 if more than one aircraft is involved. Let's see what others say. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 16:08, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just Asking(Don't Mind)

[edit]

Can you please name your favourite(fav) aircraft and fav airline? BuddyHeigh (talk) 14:42, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Favorite aircraft is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and favorite airline is Qatar Airways. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 14:46, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You must have seen all-time fav aircraft being the Boeing 747. Since I was a child, I had fascination in the aircraft. I first flew in it with Air India in 1986. After that, I flew in it at least 5-6 times. And the most recent one was in 2022, when I rode with Lufthansa, and their blend of classic seating and modernized seating made it my fav airline. BuddyHeigh (talk) 18:39, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the Boeing 747 (Boeing 747-800 specifically) is my Top Five favorite aircraft. The 747 really is incredible. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 18:46, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I remember the Maharaja grand interiors inside the jumbo. Additionally, I got a spot for t-tails like the Boeing 717 and McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Series. For regional flyers, I'll go for the Cessna 208B Caravan. From good ol' Boeing, I have the spot for the 747, 767 and 777. Fokkers like Friend and Fellowship also hold a place. From Airbus, the A300, 320-200s,330neo and the 380 are my favourites. The British Concorde is unforgettable. Lockheeds like L-1011 TriStars and L-188 Electras are in my list. I also like McDonnell Douglas' DC-9, DC-10-30, MD-11, MD-80 Series and MD-90 Series. I also have a like for Russo-Soviet aircraft like Ilyushin Il-62 and Il-96, Tupelov Tu-134, Tu-154, Tu-204 and Tu-214 and Yakovlev Yak-42, Yak-82 and MC-21. BuddyHeigh (talk) 14:11, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those are all amazing and unforgettable aircraft you've named there. Basically named Aviation History since the 70s and I like it. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 14:20, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to 1966 Palomares B-52 crash, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. 2000 Tehran ruway disaster

[edit]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. Thank you for created useful articles. And if possible, can you create "2000 Tehran ruway disaster" ( A collision between Iran Air Force C-130 and Iran Air A300, all 8 people on C-130 died ). Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 08:37, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tô Ngọc Khang. I was thinking of that disaster but there is a serious lack of citations. I might consider creating it but I need time thinking about it. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 08:48, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Tô Ngọc Khang. If you want, you should create a draft about it called the "2000 Tehran airport disaster" since the collision didn't take place on the runway and I might help you. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 08:49, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Aircraft involved in the accident when still in service with previous operator

[edit]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. I think we should use accident aircraft photo in service with previous operator (if we don't have photo of aircraft with current operator) on infobox and put similar aircraft photo is below. In my opinion, anyway photo of accident aircraft is still better. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 14:10, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tô Ngọc Khang. It really makes no difference. Also, remove that watermark from the image of the accident aircraft. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 14:35, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Aircraft involved in the accident with a previous livery

[edit]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. Should we use the photo of accident aircraft with previous livery (if we don't have photo with current livery) on infobox ? Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 06:25, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tô Ngọc Khang. If we don't have a photo of the accident aircraft with the current livery, it is better to display and aircraft similar looking to the one involved with the same livery (imo). We could place the aircraft's previous lives photo at the bottom of the infobox. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 19:10, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For me, I will do the opposite. Anyway photo of the accident aircraft should be given more priority or no need to add. This is similar to aircraft involved in the accident while serving other airlines. I think we should hear opinition from others people.
@Aviationwikiflight@Dual Freq@Maungapohatu What do you think ? Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 22:39, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really know how Commons works and I'm pretty sure I need 500+ edits to be able to move pages in Commons, similar to English Wikipedia. I might be wrong about that or I just don't know how to move pages/photos in Commons. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 13:28, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@JMSNXYZ. Hello there. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 17:17, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. I think we should use the BOAC photo on infobox and remove the photo of similar aircraft. I found a photo of 5N-ABD on internet and it has a different livery. See https://www.vc10.net/Airframes/Images/5N-ABD_LHR_outsideTBA.jpg. I also don't found any photo of VC10 with same livery on Commons. So current photo on infobox also don't show that the aircraft look like when it was crashed. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 05:24, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay do it. Remove that Nigeria Airways photo and explain your claim. If someone reverts your edit and then instead of reverting back, go to the talk page and explain your claim and evidence. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 02:45, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ilyushin Il-76

[edit]

Previous to your addition, I added the shoot-down of the Ilyushin Il-76 to the Ilyushin Il-76#Operational history section here. I didn't read the whole page and missed the Ilyushin Il-76#2020s section. There are two sections with mentions of accidents. Should there be two sections mentioning identical incidents? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 18:53, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Adakiko. It looks like the two sections mention the same accidents in the exact order. However, accident/incident events should be mentioned in the #Accidents and incidents section, not in the #Operational History section. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 19:47, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. I think we should put the photo of the aircraft involved in infobox and put the photo of similar aircraft below. Anyway we should prioritize photos of the aircraft involved. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 14:52, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We've had this discussion multiple times and there are others who disagree with you also. Hi @Ivebeenhacked. Why we can't use newer photo ? It show fully the aircraft and not showing other aircrafts. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 15:48, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I did same thing with Air France Flight 447 and replace by a newer photo, you reverted it and say that: This is a better image as it shows the whole plane properly and not showing other aircrafts. See: [3] Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 15:53, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted that edit of yours because you replaced the previous image without a good explanation and without discussion with others. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 15:56, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think using the new photo is better. It show fully the aircraft and not showing other aircrafts, and the time it was taken is nearer. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 16:01, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Ivebeenhacked. I created Korean Air Lines Flight 642 (An accident of Korean Air in 1976). Can you help me to improve this article. Tô Ngọc Khang (talk) 11:45, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll help you. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 13:51, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2024 in aviation

[edit]

Why did you readd an event without an article? Bloxzge 025 (talk) 04:12, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Because someone had draftified it by basically saying that the article lacked citations. I added 4-5 citations and re-moved that draft to an article so now the event has an article (again). And I'm sorry that I forgot to re-add that link to the article. It sure felt like I just reverted your edit without explanation (which is what I've literally done, regrettably). Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 04:16, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm gonna ask what I was writing here instead of making a new section, why did you add the midair collision when there's no article? Bloxzge 025 (talk) 01:55, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
TBH, I don't even know. I just heard of a collision while on Google and just decided to add it because of the fatality count (regarding the type of aircraft), regardless if it had an article or not. I wouldn't be surprised if my edit did get reverted. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 03:21, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

List of accidents and incidents on commercial aircraft

[edit]

You recently reverted this edit I made removing a 1959 crash from the List of accidents and incidents on commercial aircraft.

Per your edit summary: If you feel like the article doesn't meet the inclusion criteria, nominate it for deletion or something.

Enforcement mechanism #2 in the inclusion criteria, which reflects community consensus, says that Any new entry that does not meet the inclusion requirement of this guideline can be removed by anyone; the burden is on the includer to prove that a new entry meets the guideline... I did that. I'm not going to AfD the article itself, because I do not dispute the notability of the event; I only question its inclusion on the list, because it seems to clearly violate the inclusion criteria. Additionally, I started this discussion on the list's Talk page to politely (I hope) hash out whether the entry complies with the inclusion criteria, and the includer has pointed that some other, older entries appear not to comply either. Sorry, I misunderstood. Thanks for fixing my mistake. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 04:27, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to 2024 San Fernando Airport runway excursion. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:49, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Aviationwikiflight. You sure you're sending it to the right user? I haven't created this article. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 08:52, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't matter anyway. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 08:55, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since you were a major contributor to the article (representing around 1/3 of the edits), the notice was nothing more than customary. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 08:57, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't thought of that, somehow. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 09:02, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2025 (Australian federal election)

[edit]

It’s not necessary to add a citation needed notice to the entry on the 2025 page about the Australian federal election, because if you open the article specifically about the election, it’s properly cited, and the entry in the list of dates on the 2025 page simply summarises it in a couple of sentences, in line with the usual practice when an election is on a list of dates on Wikipedia. Thank you! Hydroxyzine-XYZ (talk) 09:41, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You can't really expect someone to look for citations like that. All I saw was unsourced content and I correctly placed citation needed tags. There's nothing wrong or unnecessary about that. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 09:56, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to British European Airways Flight 226. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Feel free to revert if you disagree, but please note that whilst you have cited sources, these sources are either databases (tertiary sources) or the final report. In my opinion, you'll need to find secondary sources that provide significant coverage of the accident beyond the 21st of December, 1961. Aviationwikiflight (talk) 18:30, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I'll take care of it. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 02:14, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse advice

[edit]

Autobiographies are not absolutely forbidden, though they are highly discouraged, because it's very hard for people to set aside what they know about themselves and only summarize what others say. 331dot (talk) 12:43, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for clarifying. Hacked (Talk|Contribs) 12:46, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

News

[edit]

Recently, on 29 December 2024, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. 179 people have been confirmed dead, with only 2 survivors. What happened was that the plane belly landed after its main landing gear failed to deploy. It overran the runway, and was destroyed by fire.
