Love the art
Hi! Just wanted to say I love the art on your user page ^u^. I was going to ask a question about closing but thought a bit harder and found a good answer so no need to ask. What is depicted in the painting, if you don't mind me asking? If you don't feel comfortable no need to answer that question, tho. — Ixtal ( T / C ) ⁂ Non nobis solum. 09:24, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Ixtal, nice to see you here! If you have any questions on closing, probably don't ask me, haha! If by the painting you mean the picture currently at my user page, it's just a pretty drawing I found from this furry artist. While I prefer keeping the children's lit theme, I randomly found this picture on commons and loved it. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 01:05, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Wow I'm glad the artist uploaded such a nice picture to commons. In any case, hope you have a good Easter weekend :) — Ixtal ( T / C ) ⁂ Non nobis solum. 09:02, 6 April 2023 (UTC)

Censorship should not be acceptable on Wikipedia
This is unacceptable. Wikipedia is a website that seeks to educate its users with accurate information that does not twist the truth in order to support any one political belief system. The page on Andrea Long Chu would give the reader the impression that Chu is a non-controversial figure in feminism, rather than the reality, which is that Chu's writings are highly controversial, and contain content that many feminists find dehumanizing hate speech towards women. If a writer had come under fire for racist comments, that information would be allowed to be included in their Wiki page so that readers understand the whole scope of who this person is as an individual and professional. Women are a protected class in the United States of America. Why is Chu's own highly controversial writing about women "not constructive" to add to the page? My contributions have quoted Chu's own words about her transition and perception of womanhood from an essay she wrote describing her girlfriend in sexist and racist terms, and in her seminal book Females which contains controversial descriptions of womanhood and femaleness that she defines as the essence of sexual submission, rather than the state of being the female sex. This interpretation of women and femaleness is crucial to forming an accurate understanding of this individual as a writer and self-identified feminist. I request that my edits be reinstated, or that I am allowed to add a separate category to Chu's page entitled "Controversies" that include the aforementioned quotations of her own writing on women from Females and her writing on asian women in her 2013 Duke student newspaper essay. I look forward to your reply. Emily. Ejdep5 (talk) 21:34, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply] Ejdep5 (talk) 21:35, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

- Would you please do me the curtesy of explaining why quotations of the author's work itself and an essay published by a well-known professional in a popular independent journalism site, don't count as reliable sources? If there is a problem with the paper from the controversial The Tablet magazine, then I will just cite the 2013 Duke student newspaper essay where Chu describes her racism and sexism towards her Chinese girlfriend. Please defend why you have censored Chu's writing about women. I await your response. Respectfully, Emily. Ejdep5 (talk) 22:21, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
Question from DanceItBreakIt (01:34, 16 May 2023)
hey there, i've been on wikipedia for close to a year now, but i'm still not sure how to create inline citations. Can you explain it to me please? --DanceItBreakIt (talk) 01:34, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- I hope Isabelle doesn't mind me answering on her behalf, but there's an "add reference" button in the edit window. Just put your cursor where you want the citation, click the button and fill in something identifying for your source (often a url works, but sometimes you have to find a DOI). The rest will happen automatically! --Licks-rocks (talk) 12:53, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi,
I see you have put a protection on this article, and I understand why. Truthfully, I've probably done something wrong. But the protection prevents me from editing and not the user Number 57, despite the fact that we did the exact same course of action. I hate to be this way but I really suspect bad faith on their part because they misled about the situation and refuse to listen on the talk page to any points I have made. Additionally, the photo I kept putting back in was used for years on that page, and so it should be restored as such since that's how it was before the dispute. (I checked revisions dating way back to 2017 and 2015, it was not changed until Feb 21 of this year).
I apologize for any trouble I have caused. 167.98.127.74 (talk) 19:52, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- There is no bad faith nor any misleading on my part, just frustration at the IP's conduct. I have repeatedly pointed out that the IP is editing against standard practice and provided multiple bits of evidence on the talk page this is the case. The only bad faith is coming from the IP who repeatedly ignores the evidence and BRD, which has been incredibly tiresome. Number 57 20:12, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- As I quite clearly stated in my comment at WP:RFPP, I respectfully asked Number 57 not to edit the article while it was protected because what I saw was an edit war between a few editors. Since they are an administrator, no level of protection would stop them from editing the article, and full protection felt like overkill. As their only edit was to restore what I assume is the status quo, I will let it be. If the two of you can't come to an agreement, I'd ask you call for a third opinion from an outside party before returning to editing the article. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 20:30, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I apologise (and I would definitely not have edited it had the article been fully protected), but this has been incredibly frustrating and there seems to be no mechanism to enforce BRD against aggressive IPs. I have already sought wider input from WT:E&R. Cheers, Number 57 20:34, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, they clearly went against the "don't edit it" idea and should have just let someone else do it if that was the case. The status quo is the official portrait, which was used on the page for eight years straight until it was suddenly changed. 167.98.127.74 (talk) 20:38, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, Number 57, hopefully this will help with solving the issue. Concerning what is or isn't the status quo, see WP:WRONGVERSION. What really matters now is trying to reach a consensus on what image we should use in the article going forward. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 21:02, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- Fingers crossed. And TBH, WRONGVERSION is another bugbear of mine. When I've protected articles due to situations like this, I have tried to restore the stable version when doing so to avoid penalise the editor(s) respecting BRD. I'll never understand why this isn't made the rule, as there's not much more annoying on Wikipedia than an article being locked in a version that rewards the violating party... Cheers, Number 57 21:10, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

RFPP
I apologize for the non-admin closures/declines/other notes at RFPP, I did not realize that wasn't allowed. I have been doing it for a while without anyone saying anything, and now feel very stupid for wasting everyone's time. You might want to check the archives to make sure I didn't foul up any of my previous closures. - Adolphus79 (talk) 05:30, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
I have been trying to find more information about this, but can't find anything on WP:RFPP (or the archives of its talk page) that says non-admins can't use the template. Could you please clarify where non-admin closures are discussed? - Adolphus79 (talk) 16:03, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- I don't believe it's prohibited per se for a non-admin to decline a request, but my experience is that in certain areas, such as RFPP, AIV and similar, editors adding their request usually expect an administrator to look over the issue and then act on it, which means either declining or accepting it. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 18:41, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, then I apologize again. As I said, I have been using that template for a while, and you are the first to make such a comment. I have stopped using the template and will now only add useless non-admin comments to the entries. - Adolphus79 (talk) 18:48, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- No need to apologize. It's entirely possible that I'm reading the situation wrong, as I'm somewhat newish at this still, and would welcome the input from more experienced administrators who patrol RFPP. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 21:55, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- It's fine, I know nothing I say or do here matters because I'm not an admin... - Adolphus79 (talk) 21:58, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- I’m not aware of any rules either, but some uses of the RFPP template, like telling the bot it is correct that a protection has already been done, or telling it to archive after it (quite regularly) leaves a message below an admin saying they protected the page are utterly uncontroversial for anyone to do. RFPP declines? Meh, we honestly decline so few requests that i can’t really recall seeing a non admin ever doing it before. Courcelles (talk) 22:27, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Nevermind... it suddenly seems that multiple people have an issue with me working on RFPP because I am not an admin. I'm sorry for wandering away from mainspace because I got bored and wanted to help my beloved 'pedia, I think I'm done trying to do anything more than minor punctuation and grammatical fixes on the articles themselves for a while... - Adolphus79 (talk) 23:36, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello again!
Hi! I'm contacting you regarding making autoconfirmed or confirmed access protections permanent for Killing of Manuel Esteban Paez Terán. After the protection expired the vandalism returned, and while I do my best to try to speedily revert that vandalism.
I think the risk for that type of vandalism happening without notice will become longer as less editors watch the page. Thanks, LoomCreek (talk) 20:47, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi LoomCreek, and apologies for the delay. The article's history show very little editing coming from unregistered or new accounts, which have a mix of good and bad contributions, so I don't think protection is needed right now, specially not indefinite. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 22:54, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
- Okay fair enough! I'm somewhat new to this process specifically. The thought process was that while not a frequent issue it is a consistent issue, that seems unlikely to go away for this page. As a significant potion of the IP edits for this page have been vandalism. And no worrys about the delay. LoomCreek (talk) 22:59, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

- On further look, the person I remembered doing this vandalism (the disruption one which made me assume LTA, not the report) about a week ago was just them, it was the same IP (<diff>) - which they have admitted is a free VPN in their talk page. They have been blocked for 1 year though, so I guess that ends that. – 2804:F14:808E:A601:21F6:A6D:DADF:F210 (talk) 20:40, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Appears that the issue has been resolved while I was out. I should've probably have gone with a site-wide block to start with. Oh well. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 21:13, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

Strange situation at Talk:Iran and the Russian invasion of Ukraine
It looks like a newish user requested a move, then may have tried to back out, but it's still there at the article page. But I'm unclear about it, and very unclear what to do. Could you take a look. Thanks. Adoring nanny (talk) 16:53, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Seems like the bot has already removed the template and the discussion from the RM/C page. Isabelle Belato 🏳🌈 17:01, 3 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello, can I ask for advice please.
I've come to you as you protected List of most watched television interviews earlier. Another editor, KentHaaChe (talk · contribs) has added the Twitter interview with Andrew Tate (uncited)[2] The article clearly states "This is specifically on broadcast television and not on other television sources such as YouTube, Twitter or other online sources." The interview was posted on Twitter. I've already reverted various edits 3 times and don't want to abuse the 3rr rule. I have engaged with KentHaaChe on their talk page. [3] Advice would be great when you're available. Many thanks, Knitsey (talk) 06:01, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- All sorted out now. I hope I didn't disturbe you with any pings you might have got. Knitsey (talk) 08:22, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- It's no problem, Knitsey. Had I been awake at the time, I would've blocked them as clearly not here. I was wondering why that article got so much attention recently, but from those user's edits I can see why now. The article might need a ECP lock eventually, but we will see. In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |

Thanks re: Anti-Flag
Hey, just dropping by to say thanks for protecting Anti-Flag. Given what I've heard about the band and misconduct allegations, and given the BLP violations already posted there in the past few hours, I anticipate the next few days are going to be extremely rough for that page... and they only would have been rougher if you hadn't protected it. Take care! :) Afddiary (talk) 01:58, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- No problem, Afddiary. While I was unsure if there was a need to protect the page due to the addition of unsourced info regarding the end of the band, the recent addition of serious allegations sourced to a podcast made me decide some protection would be best. IP hopper
Hi Isabelle Belato. I saw your post User talk:2A00:23C8:3984:6201:65D4:C916:EDCC:7670. It looks this same user is also Special:Contributions/2A00:23C8:3984:6201:A846:D2B7:FA8A:29B7, Special:Contributions/2A00:23C8:3984:6201:480F:982C:FDB8:4349 and Special:Contributions/2A00:23C8:3984:6201:A846:D2B7:FA8A:29B7 and is hopping IPs primarily to edit war at Pop Max and Kix (UK and Ireland TV channel). Perhaps those articles might need at least WP:WHITELOCK for a bit to stop reverting and encourage things to be resolved via the article talk pages. -- 21:06, 19 August 2023 (UTC) Marchjuly (talk) 21:06, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Marchjuly. All the IPs you mention here are from the same /64 range, so hardly IP hopping. But, since they've been disruptive on multiple pages, including continually adding unsourced information, I've blocked them for 31 hours. If the issue persist, let me know. Dear Isabelle Belato, please tell me why you deleted Farzad Ghadri's page because it had many references Ahmadech4 (talk) 13:24, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Ahmadech4: The article in question was previously deleted via a community discussion.
