Notice

The article Application support via Wayland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOT: Wikipedia is not a how-to, a manual, a list of features.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Category:Statistic of Slovak places by Dušan Kreheľ/doc indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Slovakia stat templates

[edit]

Greetings! Thanks for this revert; I only looked at the preview and not the diff. I didn't realize how much longer that made the wikisource; I thought it was only going to leave the user-visible text. These nested templates make it hard for editors to figure out where these numbers are coming from, and thus difficult to correct or update or change the formatting. I still think the right thing to do is to subst: them, but it will have to be done recursively to get a clean result. I think that means nominating all of Category:Statistic of Slovak places by Dušan Kreheľ for deletion. -- Beland (talk) 00:13, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Special

[edit]

Regarding your mail, it's true that Special:Interwiki is more complete than m:interwiki map, though the difference isn't as great as you think, because it's the source from which Wikipedia:Special is generated. But Special:Interwiki does appear to have about 20 prefixes at the end which aren't in m:interwiki_map, as well as a list of interlanguage prefixes.

I don't think it's useful to most users as a "See also" link without any explanation. The other "See also" links are fairly basic and apply to links in general. This one is advanced and specific. If you want to include it, I'd suggest putting it in the Interwiki links section, probably as an {{efn}}. If you really want it in "See also", it should have an explanatory description like the other entries there do. Regards, Dan Bloch (talk) 18:41, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic bot edits

[edit]

Hi. You've made arbitrary decision to remove old MOŠ/MIS statistics links from Slovak municipality articles (even archived ones), ok, so be it, but why are you leaving empty sections there? [1][2] --Teslaton (talk) 21:45, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Teslaton: In other words, the section is not finished, since it contains a template call.
I decided not to detect the end of the "external links" section, as currently there is no clearly syntactically-semantically defined boundary in the Wiki+HTML MediaWiki language between the end of the last text section and the "meta data part" at the end of the page section. Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 22:04, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OMG, rather no comment on that (I would have to be rude). Please fix that – either by reverting those edits or by completing a proper section removal. --Teslaton (talk) 22:07, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bot suggestion

[edit]

Hey!

I just came accross this edit yout bot made and wanted to suggest you setting some kind of convention for naming the references. It just used a seemingly meaningless string with some random sequence at the end. I was thinking you may be able to use the url plus the year/date of the reference, when available, to make a more human-friendly name.

Hope you like the idea and thank you for your work. If you want to discuss this further, please hit me up in the Spanish wikipedia, I might not get notified if you answer me here.

Best regards, --Kakahuete (talk) 09:23, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

 Done
@Kakahuete: I sed cca the date of change. It's universal. No every deference must have the date. None duplicite reference with date. m:User:Dušan_Kreheľ/Bot:Merging_identical_references_by_the_bot#Reference_name Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 10:16, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!
The date of change is a much more human-friendly option. I understand my proposal was difficult to implement for those reasons you mention, but I think this solution is good enough.
All the best, --Kakahuete (talk) 14:47, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Kakahuete: Your request could somehow be fulfilled, but it is also quite subjective (some people want a year, others a web domain, others maybe a title or a person), but I prefer a simpler and more elegant solution, although it is not the most perfect. Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 13:29, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hi. A friendly FYI: I received an on-wiki message that you emailed me, but I did not receive the email. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:48, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosiestep: I sent again. Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 16:59, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Now I have received it. Not sure why you sent it to me as the scope mentioned is not my area of expertise. Sorry that I can't be helpful, but as you indicated that you submitted the information elsewhere, that might be a good way to go. Other options, of course, would be those volunteers involved with that language sister project. I wish you well, and good luck. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:07, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

BRFA

[edit]

This BRFA is an absolute joke of a request. It has zero detail, but the task and scope are identical to previous BRFAs that were denied or revoked. In the interest of good faith I have un-submitted your request for approval, because the alternate is to simply deny it outright, forcing you to create a new one and resubmit (which is a waste of everyone's time). Please do not submit for approval until you have actually taken into account the concerns and feedback from the previous two attempts. Primefac (talk) 14:34, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Primefac: Joke or scare? Or the code is programmed, and enthusiasm or go further?
Insufficient application? But that can be changed. Why dismiss it now?
Warning, if your intention was to reject the request, then I think that only deletion from the bulletin board, so this process was not sufficient. Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 21:53, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am not joking, nor am I attempting to scare you. Your bot request was not properly filled out and does not currently address the issues from the previous failed attempts. If you prefer that I decline the BRFA instead of giving you an opportunity to improve it before resubmission, then I will do so, just let me know, but then you will just have to fill out another BRFA, which as I said above is a waste of time for all involved. Primefac (talk) 06:53, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Breaking citation templates

[edit]

Hi Dušan Kreheľ, just a heads up, edits like this one have been breaking a bunch of citation templates by changing | to | within the templates. Please check and fix whatever script you appear to be using for these edits to avoid breaking unrelated parts of the page. It appears that you are also changing   to plain spaces within units, which goes against MOS:NUM, so please avoid doing that as well. :Jay8g [VTE] 23:40, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
