Changed your version a little bit on KLLY. Just a side not User: Joemama993 is wierd. He likes using the list that was on KLLY, you can see how I have it, which to me is better, because your explaining what the airstaff do, instead of what saying Middays John Doe, Afternoons Jane Doe. I'm working with him a little bit, but might not keep what he puts up, if don't like it. He changed KDFO, and I changed it back. Hopefully I can get him to know that a list like that is a directory. You can look at KLLY. Hopefully it's o.k. that I have the bullets on there, looks better that way. By the way, where at do you put your opinon at on WP: WPRS? User: Joemama993 put his opinion on there and you took it off. All he was doing was putting his opinion on there. By taking that off is not respecting his freedom of speech, but if you tell me where we can put our opinion at on that site, that would help.. Although, how KLLY is now is how I feel it should be, if you can supply the information, but if you can's supply the information, then there shouldn't be nothing wrong with doing the stations sites Mid-Days John Doe and Afternoons Jane Doe. --JoeCool950 (talk) 02:10, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Opinion and commentary belong on the Talk page, not the Project page. A prose description of notable programming features and personalities will always be preferred to a naked list of names and airtimes. Indeed, such lists resemble schedules which are prohibited by Wikipedia policy since this is an encyclopedia, neither a radio station directory nor a fansite. - Dravecky (talk) 06:07, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Take a look at KDFO after User: Joemama993 changes it. If you don't agree with it also, let me know and I'll change it back to how it was, which is right now how I fixed KUZZ. How KUZZ is how I feel it should be, describing what the personality does, not just the list deal. Although, if how User: Joemama993 fixes it you like, then let me know also. Let me know either way. I changed it on him before because I didn't like how he had it. By the way, the way that you guys want the radio sites to look like or the body of the radio sites with the station listed as a suggestion would look stupid. KDFO, KLLY, KKBB, and KUZZ would never look like that. You can see the station they use as an example on WP: WPRS. Just wanted to give my input there. I think that's why User: Joemama993 wants the sites to look like that, just to let you know. He hasn't changed it yet, but gave me an example of how he wants to do the radio sites. I told him just try KDFO, but if you don't like that, just undo what he did to how I have it now. Just wanted to let you know.--JoeCool950 (talk) 02:27, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've formatted the articles for the stations you mention to conform with Wikipedia standards and the norms of the Radio Stations Project. I'm not sure which part of this format you think would "look stupid" but it's not up to the individual radio stations to decide what their Wikipedia entry should look like. Promotional language is to be strictly avoided and schedules are generally forbidden so I've updated the programming sections of these articles. If you want to further discuss a general change to the way the WPRS lays out articles, talk with us on our talk page at WT:WPRS. - Dravecky (talk) 07:28, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Stop
You need to stop!!!!! It's o.k. how it is.. --JoeCool950 (talk) 17:04, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Um, no, it's not okay. You're reintroducing formatting and typographical errors, incomplete or broken infoboxes, and undoing without comment useful edits to make these encyclopedia articles more encyclopedic as per Wikipedia policies. Please stop immediately. - Dravecky (talk) 17:07, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
KVMX
Stop with KVMX..
Leave the personality stuff alone on KLLY and KUZZ. Don't want them up there.--JoeCool950 (talk) 17:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- You don't "own" the articles so what you or the station "wants" is not a primary consideration. If the information is inaccurate then it should be updated or removed but what any editor might "want" is not relevant to the encyclopedia. - Dravecky (talk) 17:17, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
STOP
STOP.... KKBB was o.k.
Wikipedia SUCKS
WIKIPEDIA SUCKS --JoeCool950 (talk)
- Deleted text restored. Deleting this section again will not hide your actions (that's why a diff is always useful) but it would constitute further vandalism. - Dravecky (talk) 17:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- And restored again. You may comment on my user page but deleting comments, especially those that are not your own, is pure vandalism. Cut it out. - Dravecky (talk) 18:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia DOESN'T SUCK
Wikipedia doesn't suck o.k. I've used some of your edits like for KIIS-FM that needed some attention on their airstaff page. I've used your edit from KVVS to put on KIIS-FM.--JoeCool950 (talk) 18:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I didn't know there was a talk page for that. The opinion that User: Joemama993 left I'll put on that page. He didn't know either, I don't think. That's what I meant about the earlier comment, but your link to WP: WPRS opened to the talk page, which is where the opinions need to be left, I'm guessing, so sorry for the other comment about Wikipedia.. You can see I changed my comment. I've changed the wording a little bit for KLLY and KKBB, still says what you changed it to, but I edited the wording a little bit to what it should say.--JoeCool950 (talk) 18:31, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- There's a talk page for just about everything at Wikipedia. We run on discussion and consensus so it's disconcerting when someone repeatedly flouts consensus without apparent cause. - Dravecky (talk) 19:00, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
If Don't like recent edits
If you don't like the recent edits, then I'm going to just delete my user account, which I can bring back, if change my mind--JoeCool950 (talk) 18:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Question
I put this on the wrong page earlier. For the hat notes, only the former call letters are what you have a link to, or the call letters? Let me know.--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:11, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- A properly formatted hatnote on the WAAY article might look like this...
- ...and you should note the proper "for" template in use, too. - Dravecky (talk) 06:27, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
KDUV for Bakersfield
I noticed tonight that KDUV for Bakersfield uses K261CO as the call letters, but I know for a fact that it airs KDUV, so KDUV is up-to-date like you have it and I made 100.1 for Bakersfield K261CO since the FCC states that's what 100.1 is, so thought I'd let you know that, so 100.1 shouldn't be on KDUV, needs to be on K261CO. Just thought I'd let you know that. --JoeCool950 (talk) 04:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- That's a broadcast translator. I'll add the appropriate table right now. - Dravecky (talk) 06:02, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- I realized when I saw that for 100.1 in Bakersfield, that I remember them saying when they say the ID say K261 Bakersfield, meaning K261CO. Didn't know that was a broadcast translator. I learned something tonight. Hey, sorry for all the stuff earlier. I checked about the introduction and the introduction that was on some of the other stations I found out was o.k. and I added it to WP: WPRS. Got the o.k. message that it was o.k. also for the second one that I thought was o.k. Although, since there's a second way to do the introduction, not all of the stations shouldn't be the same. Each one should be different, if the station has a branding name. Just wanted to let you know and the programming page is staying how you fixed them. If you are on there and see that User: Joemama993 has been on that particular page, undo his edits. I won't go into detail, but let's just say User:Joemama993 has been told also what he's doing is vandalism also, just so that you're aware of it, if you come accross his name.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- You didn't "get the o.k. message"--you had one editor agree with you but no consensus has yet been reached. It will take a few days of discussion and back-and-forth before any such decision can be said to have been made. - Dravecky (talk) 06:24, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- That's cool. I edited KVMX, but reverted back to how you had it and left an edit summary that it was being reverted back. KDUV looks better, thanks for fixing that for me. Wasn't sure how to make that known. KDUV looks even cooler now and more up-to-date.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:49, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

- I'm glad I looked into that. I noticed that, and thought it better be brought to someones attention about KDUV having a translator in Bakersfield. I'm guessing that's how most of the christian stations like Air 1 for example broadcasts is through a translator. Wish though, but there's nothing you can do about this, but wish KDUV had a translator up where I live!! Now your going to laugh at this. I put my user page up for deletion, and they deleted it. How can I get the page restored to how I had it.--JoeCool950 (talk) 07:00, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Question
How can I get all of my contents back on my user page after a delete on User: JoeCool950? Was able to remember some of it, but not all of it. What I basically did was made it back up, but I'm seeing about getting it restored to it's original!!--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:57, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
The Shannon Smith thing was a typo on KDUV, it should have said Shannon Steele. When you changed it back on the programming page, it made it wrong again. Should have said Shannon Steele, that's why I made that correction. Shannon Smith doesn't even work for KDUV. Everything is correct and Shannon Steele is the assistant program director and music director. I know that for a fact--JoeCool950 (talk) 16:59, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- That's why I asked about your edit on your talk page. Leaving an edit summary when you make this sort of change is both encouraged and appreciated. Changes made without comment, especially when no reference is offered, are easily mistaken for vandalism. - Dravecky (talk) 18:41, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Will you see if you can get a logo on the KGEO site. I tried, but couldn't figure it out and gave up.--JoeCool950 (talk) 17:29, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've added a logo, a reference, and updated the infobox with more FCC data. Enjoy. - Dravecky (talk) 18:55, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Category:Conventions in Texas
I would like to do rename Category:Conventions in Texas to Category:Fandom Conventions in Texas. The name as it stands would include business and industrial conventions such as the annual Mary Kay convention in Dallas, Texas. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 21:39, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- For consistency with the other 49 states, I strongly feel that the convention name should remain as it stands. Articles like Permian Basin International Oil Show need a home too. With only about two dozen articles in the category it's far too underpopulated to consider creating a subcategory just for sf/f or anime conventions. (And they would need to be specific, to match the existing category structure, since "fandom" is too nebulous.) - Dravecky (talk) 01:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- The only two categories by the name "Conventions in state" are Texas and Category:Conventions in Minnesota. The same information is probably in Wikipedia for other states, but it should be uniformly organized. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 18:36, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Station ratings
I'm glad you were able to explain to Joemama993 about the station ratings. I'd take them off too, with what you were talking about. And since this is an encylopedia, not a stations website or something else, I'll agree that the programming should be done in a prose. It makes more since that way to. You don't see a book encylopedia have lists on it, all of the wording is in a prose format, so with that being said, guess we should do the same. One question, is it vandalism taking off messages on my own talk page? I took of the warnings that you left. Just want to check. By the way, if you want, you can take off all that arguing stuff on your page, if you want.--JoeCool950 (talk) 01:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Removing those vandalism warning templates could be considered a form of vandalism, yes. - Dravecky (talk) 11:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- It shouldn't though, since it's on my own talk page.--JoeCool950 (talk) 18:18, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Is it a smart idea to put all of the old messages in an archive. I don't have an archive on my talk page, but like how you have your old messages in an archive, then that way, you can put all of the old messages in one and save all of the current ones. Just an idea I had for mine. I might consider doing that for mine, so instead of totally removing it, I can put it in my archive and that way, it's still on my page.--JoeCool950 (talk) 18:29, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:KKGRlogo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:KKGRlogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yet another logo bot-converted to PNG. I wonder why this one was a straggler. - Dravecky (talk) 11:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm guessing, since KLOVE is a non-commercial, or the station that it's on in Bakersfield is non-commercial, I'm guessing that KLOVE doesn't need the Bakersfield market template on there. I did the same thing with Air1, since it's like KLOVE, where it says stations. That needs to be the same for Air1, no Bakersfield or High Desert template on there, and I'm guessing that's because all of the stations templates would have to be on there, which would be too much templates. That's my guess, but I fixed Air1, so that you don't need to fix that or revert it back and it's all updated. --JoeCool950 (talk) 02:27, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
WSYA...again
Thought you might like to know that yet again, another launch date has come and gone for WSYA. No sign-on yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arob22 (talk • contribs) 15:08, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Seriously? And this page had me convinced it was for real this time. Any word from the station on what the heck they're thinking? - Dravecky (talk) 16:31, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- No word yet. WSYA is currently simulcasting WTDR. It sounds like they have an FM radio plugged directly into the transmitter as there is static on the station within the city grade signal. Both translators are currently off. We can hear WZYP and WAHR quite well in Anniston and Oxford. I'll keep you posted if any more information becomes available. Arob22 (talk) 19:05, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- The word I have received today from one of the senior sales staffers at Jacobs Broadcast Group is that they have decided not to launch WSYA. I am looking for confirmation on this and will let you know ASAP. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arob22 (talk • contribs) 16:54, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Please check Talk:WFRP#Rationale_for_deletion_of_disambiguation_page if you haven't that page on watch. Regards, CapnZapp (talk) 20:44, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I just wanted to let you know that I got User: JoJo995 in trouble. I noticed that User: JoJo995 and User: Joemama993 had the same information on their page userpage and I pointed it out to a administrator plus User: Joemama993 had blanked his page, which is clearly vandalism and felt it needed to get reported for that. I'll definitely not do any sockpuppetry. If he wanted his username changed, I could have told him what to do, to avoid that, but I'm not going to back up User: Joemama993 anymore.--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:12, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okay.... For the record, blanking your own user page is generally not considered vandalism. - Dravecky (talk) 14:49, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
The page looks better. I'm going to use my sandbox to see if I can get the programming page a little more up to-date. If you look under the history, you can see what it was before. I keep telling User: Joemama993 that, that's what you guys want on the programming page is for it to be in a pose format. He said he's confused. I read on the talk page that's what you all agree, and don't want to change what you all agreed about with talking about the programming on the radio station pages. User: Joemama993 just has to apply by the rules, or not be on Wikipedia. Since I know that's what you guys want on the radio station pages, I'm not going to change them. I might fix the wording to make it make sense to me as a reader also. Hopefully, that's o.k. If you have any problems with User: Joemama993, then just let him know like what you had to do with me.--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:38, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
No content in Category:Breaking Bad episodes
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Breaking Bad episodes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Breaking Bad episodes has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

Status report on the Country outlines (Around the World) project
Penubag has been hard at work developing awards for this project. He has completed a very professional looking medal, and is almost done with a trophy that is truly awesome - both of these awards are visually stunning.
I and a few others have been working steadily on the country outlines - one for every country of the world! They're shaping up nicely. So far, 28 of them have been moved to article space - these aren't complete, but they are complete enough to be made available for readers to benefit from them. The rest of the set still includes temporary data that was generated by template (because it matched most but not all of the countries), and before the lists can be moved to article space, all the temporary data needs to be checked for accuracy, and if incorrect it needs to be replaced with correct information.
The effort on the lists has been on 3 fronts:
- Working on the lists in article space to complete them so they will be good examples for editors working on the rest of the set.
- Adding or correcting other data (fixing redlinks, filling in blanks, etc.). The main type of work participants in "the contest" will be doing. The reason we're doing this is to get a feel for it, to develop the fastest methods for each type of task, etc.
- Improving the overall design and implenting changes on all 247 pages, whether in article space or not.
There has been some opposition to us running the contest based on edit counts or iterations. The concern is that we should reward quality work and not quantity, for fear of crappy edits done quickly without thought. I pointed out that the collection of pages are drafts in the Wikipedia namespace (therefore posing no danger to article space) and that most of the work needs to be done with power tools like AWB and Linky (which are specifically designed for repetitive work), but the reply was that we shouldn't set the precedent of rewarding barnstars for numerically-based tasks, and implied the threat of continuously MfD'ing the contest if we attempted to do so (like they did with the Awards Center - I was very surprised and disappointed that participants didn't step up to defend it). So we need to be careful in determining what exactly the awards will represent, and how they will be awarded.
Since rewarding iterations (passes with AWB on all of the pages in the set) are out, we really don't need the globe in stand anymore. Two awards should suffice.
Once we get started with the contest, I'd like to kick the whole thing off with a round of medals for those dedicated few who have worked hard on the project so far.
What do you think of all of this?
Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.

Question
Will you tell me how the sister stations are suppose to be listed? I looked at KVMX and it looks like it goes FM, then AM. Really shouldn't matter how they're listed, but just like to know. Thanks. That's what I noticed by the edits from User: Smackbot on KKXX-FM. Would just like to know, and thought it would be a good question?--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:20, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- The preferred way to list them is in strict alphabetical order with AMs ahead of matching FMs so a list might look like this: WADF, WBFG (AM), WBFG-FM, WEDO, WWTE, WZDX. (Keep in mind, I just made up those callsigns for this example.) - Dravecky (talk) 03:48, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and User: Smackbot is a bot, not a person. - Dravecky (talk) 03:55, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- I thought I'd ask. I'll look at KVMX to see if that's how it is, if so, I won't change it "again", because that could be considered WP: vandalism, since that was done to KKXX-FM, but thought it would be smart to ask, so that I can make sure the other ones that were like KVMX are changed to how they should be.--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:39, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Sister Stations Update
Thanks for letting me know how they should be. I looked at KVMX after and I can see how it's done now, after that example. It is in Alphabetical order.--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:48, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just wanted to let you know that I got KRAB fixed for Sister Stations and KBFP-FM. Saw that you got the other ones. Just wanted to let you know took care of KRAB and KBFP-FM. You can look and let me know if they're right now. If so, that's how they're going to stay now.--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:56, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Deletion nomination of WSS/P and SFD
Re your comment at WP talk:WSS - :The nomination smacks strongly of WP:IDONTLIKEIT.
Even more so when taken in combination with Ryulong's recent attempts at making a WP:POINT at SFD - the nomination pointed to was re-opened as a courtesy to Ryulong after he unilaterally re-created a deleted stub type which had been debated a few days earlier. Rather than debating the point he immediately launched an attack on the whole WP:SFD process. On reflection, a combination of speedy deletion and reporting to WP:AN/I might have been a better move. Grutness...wha? 05:27, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Question
I want to ask this, just in case I decide not to, but if I don't want to be an editor for Wikipedia, how do I get rid of my userpage. I deleted it awhile back when we were having our fight over the radio pages and I deleted my user page, but then changed my mine and had them restore it. I do though know it's not vandalism to bring back your own page, if you change your mine. Just want to know what to do, if I decide not to be an editor for Wikipedia? I'll still stay on for now, but if I come to that decision, what do I do?--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:57, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

- By the way, that's not considered vandalism for taking of the template you put on my talk page. If it was on your talk page, I wouldn't touch it, because then it would be considered vandalism, but since it's on my talk page, not considered vandalism. By the way, WJYY looks a lot better, or better than it did.--JoeCool950 (talk) 23:53, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Question on Userpage Template and Talkheader Template
Do those templates have to be on there? I was looking at your page and noticed you don't have the Userpage Template on there. I found a better way to have the Talkheader Template on my talkpage, if you want to take a look. I've never heard of the Talkheader Template. Just the way it was on my talk page looked stupid, but I've got it fixed the way it should look on there, if I have it on there. Just was wondering if the templates need to be on the User page or Talk page.--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:47, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I do have userpage on my user page but it's at the bottom. The template is optional and placement is up to the individual user, as far as I know. Both templates are entirely optional but I find the userpage template useful as my page sometimes shows up in Google searches. - Dravecky (talk) 04:54, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for helping out with the Monroe page. If I can't think of anyway to expand it, is it alright to request a deletion of that page, if I can't expand it. I work for the school. I could do some research to find out exactly how many kids we have going to the school right now. I do know for a fact the other name for the school is Alternative Education because when I hear our secretary or office clerk answer the phone, that's how they answer the phone. I'll have to get more history on the school to put in there. I do know for history of the school it was the elementary school for a small town near Tehachapi that was known as Monolith, but the that town doesn't exist, and then the Tehachapi Unified School District took it over. The original Monroe Building was built in 1956. There are portables out there too. It's actually a pretty small school, if you look at it. There are only 8 portables out there. One portable is where the office is at, then one is our libary and then we have Tehachapi Adult School out there in a portable and then 5 teachers teach in the rest of the portables out there and one in the actual school house plus we have a cafeteria in our school house which use to be a classroom and a DDR Room, just to kind of let you know what what all is there. Pretty small. I don't know the exact number of kids, but I want to say around 140. Just guessing though. I don't want to blank the page, but if I can't think of a way to expand what I already have, then I will request a deletion rather than blanking the page. Don't want to blank the page, but after I wrote what I had, then I couldn't think of another way to expand it. Based on some of the info I told you about, excluding on the teachers and number of portables, if you think you can expand it with that, you're more than welcome. I'll look at it and let you know if it looks like it's explaining what the school is about. By the way, is it o.k. to a Continuation School listed on the California Schools deal? I noticed all of the other schools aren't Continuation Schools. I noticed you just had high school in brackets, I made included the continuation part so it says continuation high school, since that's what Monroe is in Tehachapi.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:16, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just want to remind you though that I am not blanking the page, since I felt it on my heart to have something about the only continuation high school in Tehachapi on here, but if no one is able to expand it, then I will request a deletion because it is considered vandalism according to what I read on vandalism under the wikipedia rules on blanking a page like this, so just wanted to let you know. I'll give it about a couple of months or so, to see how I feel and whether it explains it well enough about the school. Will you though let me know if there are any continuation high schools listed on Wikipedia to see about ways to expand the Monroe one. Thanks. I did update the programming for KUZZ because for some reason, Donna James isn't working for KUZZ now, so took her name out. Once I find out who replaces her, I'll had that persons name on there. Just wanted to let you know. Sorry, KUZZ is a little bit off topic, but just wanted to let you know.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:23, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I've got Monroe High School (Tehachapi) fixed up, if you want to read it. Look at it and let me know if it better explains to the readers about the school. I've also fixed up Tehachapi Unified School District. Figured there needed to be something about our district also. I've added references to where it needed to be added. Let me know if it looks o.k. for both, or explains about each. If so, then cool. That's all I want to know, especially Monroe, since I work there. I've got Monroe fixed better, now I don't have to worry about requesting a deletion for the page. By the way, it's a Continuation High School, but we call it Monroe High School, so we'll leave the name Monroe High School, just to let you know.--JoeCool950 (talk) 08:06, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Introduction on WP:WPRS
I've never noticed this, until looking on at the discusstion page, and then the project page, and the introduction that is currently on WP:WPRS uses the word "currently." Don't know if Wikipedia wants us to use the word "currently." If Wikipedia doesn't like that, might want to change that. Just thought I'd let you know that.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:13, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
KDFO introduction
I just wanted to compliment you and let you know that the introduction on KDFO looks a lot better than what it was, or to me it does. I was looking at how it previously was and what you changed it to and like it a lot better. Seems like how it was before, seems like it just went on and on after it said what kind of format it was. I didn't change it to how it was before because I like how you fixed it up. You notice I'm not changing anything. To me, all the radio stations look how they should now. You can see I don't notice stuff to much if it looks good, because I just now notice KDFO which you switched back in October. Just the wording on KDFO is different, but not too much different, you just made the introduction make more sense to the readers, which I think it should. Thanks. By the way, if I changed the KDFO introduction back, which I'm not, but if I did, (hopefully not vandalism for saying this) then I'm stupid.--JoeCool950 (talk) 07:42, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
removal of politics section from Rachel Maddow page
Since I'm new at this, maybe you can explain to me what I did "wrong". It's been up on the discussion page for several days and I thought I had linked to the reference material correctly. Any information would be appreciated.
Wperdue (talk) 23:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)wperdue
- I've rewritten the text a bit to make clearer that these were in opinion pieces and included fully fleshed out references to the sources. When you added the text to the article, I'm guessing you cut and pasted from the displayed Talk page because your "references" were simply [1] and [2] with no underlying url and thus while they might appear at a glance to be valid there was no actual reference made. Given the occasionally controversial nature of edits to public figures with a political involvement, it's best to be safe and require robust sourcing. That said, I'm sure there are other voices in print that would describe Maddow in less absolute terms and it will be important to include them in this paragraph as well to avoid the perception that only one POV is being pushed. - Dravecky (talk) 00:05, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. I'm still getting the hang of adding references. I will attempt to be more thorough in the future.

Broken autoformatting
Hi, I noticed that you have been adding concealed links to autoformatted dates. Such edits break autoformatting. There is no point in having the links for autoformatting if it is broken. Like many editors, you are probably unaware of that aspect of autoformatting. I will fix it again. Please don't add concealed links within full dates. If you don't believe me just ask anybody that knows how autoformatting works e.g. at wt:mosnum. Regards Lightmouse (talk) 13:36, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
KUSW
Thanks for greatly expanding this article about a radio station. I do have some questions on the wording for circular polarization and not interfering with tv channel 6:
- How far is KUSW from KREZ-TV, as the crow flies?
- Channel 6 audio is 87.75, not 87.9 The whole channel is 82-88.
- Is there anything in the FCC link that says they had to get some special waiver and had to use vertical polarization?
- Is it unusual for a radio station, especially a noncommerical one, to use only vertical polarization? I thought radio stations tended to use vertical and television stations tended to use horizontal.
- And strictly speaking, these two stations wouldnt interfere with each other; it would only be an issue with poorly-designed TV sets. Squidfryerchef (talk) 05:33, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's 72km and this application spells out all the gory technical details. Scroll down to Exhibit 19 towards the bottom. It is unusual for an FM station not to use both horizontal and vertical polarization. As to the amount of actual interference or exactly which viewers would be affected, you'd need to speak with a broadcast engineer for a better explanation so I'll just trust the FCC application on this one. - Dravecky (talk) 05:41, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- OK, maybe that would be a better reference for the discussion on mitigating interference. By "not really interference", I mean that receivers with decent selectivity shouldn't be bothered at all by a second adjacent. Would it be appropriate to include the distance in the article ( probably best in miles )? 75 km isn't exactly "close proximity"; that's the distance between Boston and Providence ( which incidentally have an 88.1 and a channel 6 ), a casual reader of the article might think theyre only five miles apart. Squidfryerchef (talk) 06:01, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Anticipating you, I've added the note "(72km)" to the article and while that's a long distance on the East Coast it's practically next door in the Western US (and for certain broadcast signals). - Dravecky (talk) 06:10, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

my 2p
I would like to modestly call attention to an essay I just wrote called "The nature of stub sorters." I am inviting a select few to peruse it at leisure and offer comments or changes if desired. I don't know what purpose it will serve, although I may cite it on occasions when we moppers are more than usually misunderstood. Thank you for reading. Her Pegship (tis herself) 21:09, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
On essays like WP:NME
You're right, I should have said that WP:NME is an essay, not a guideline, but per WP:ONLYESSAY it's wrong to say that an essay, especially one that reflects such a strong consensus, carries "no weight". (I was going to say this on the WMRO AfD page but the discussion closed as a WP:SNOW Keep before I could click "save page". - Dravecky (talk) 06:32, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- But that link itself links to an Essay, which also carries no weight. Consensus carries weight, essays describe 1) prior consensuses with varying levels of accuracy and/or 2) things that have some but not wide spread consensus; which is why they're essays. We have no rules for Radio Stations, this is fact. We have a generally accepted consensus, this too is fact. I have no problem with this guy trying to find out what that consensus is.--CastAStone//₵₳$↑₳₴₮ʘ№€ 06:44, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Disclaimer. I'm the one who wrote the relevant section of NME some time back. It was simply a vehicle to summarize common arguments and outcomes with regard to articles about broadcasting. It makes the case that broadcasters are part of the local infrastructure in ways that most other business are not, and it contains guidelines about when it makes sense to start work on an article and whether its likely published sources exist for them. It uses the term "presumed" notability instead of the controversial idea of "inherent notability". This is so we'd have something to show edits who are unfamiliar with the broadcast world. So it is appropriate to cite it in an AFD, not because it trumps other arguments, but because it provides background information. Squidfryerchef (talk) 21:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

A Thank you from Spaceman42
Dear Mr. Dravecky, I thank you VERY MUCH for making my recent Entry on Wikipedia.org of "The Last Voyage of the Starship Enterprise". A much more interesting format reading as well as adding some links to this famous Saturday Night Live comedy TV script.:)
I should point out there is another Wikipedia.org contributor name "SummerPhD" apparently did not like my entry and tried to have it deleted. He also seems to have a grudge against me. I also put in an item on this so-called Sagging(fashion)(where certain people have their pants a few inches below the waist showing their underwear), saying that many school districts around the USA ban this because it is considered unhealthy and vulgar. Plus, many in the Dallas area where I live also consider it street gang wear. It seems he doesn't like this true statement, and does not like the "last Voyage of Enterprise" entry as well. Just letting you know about this guy. And also thanking you for improving my entry. :) - Spaceman42 (talk) 03:12, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- No worries, I'm always happy to help improve a worthy article. The key to a successful Wikipedia article, as it would be for any encyclopedia article, is to be able to prove both verifiability and notability through references in third-party sources. Did magazines or newspapers write about this fashion trend? If so, cite the parts of your article that are backed by these sources with proper references and you'll likely never have an issue of this sort again. - Dravecky (talk) 05:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I would have surely thought that a proper hangon and blue-linked talk page would have alerted you that something was up, but I guess it didn't. hbdragon88 (talk) 07:43, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- I saw the hangon tag, reviewed the text of the talk page, and still believed that the handle of an online poker player would not meet the notability standards for professional poker players. I'm all about giving articles the benefit of the doubt, frequently declining improper speedy tags or doing a bit of fixup to make it a useful stub article, but this seemed fairly cut and dried. - Dravecky (talk) 07:47, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Where is it written that speedy and afd can't overlap? If the speedy fits, it makes sense to tag it even if it's at afd. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 18:15, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- My understanding has been that once an article had been taken to AfD that process should be allowed to form a consensus, even if that consensus winds up with the article being speedily deleted. Speedy deletion is for the unquestionably deletable articles. If my understanding is in error, I'd be happy to review that guideline or policy. - Dravecky (talk) 18:22, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just a note on this. There are times when an article at WP:AFD will be speedy deleted. For example a WP:SNOW series of comments requesting speedy deletion, the author blanking the article page after the AFD process started (G7) or where another editor has taken the article to AFD in good faith but it clearly falls into a speedy criteria. It's a bit of WP:IAR really. Pedro : Chat 12:13, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
It was Somali, not gibberish
Hello! Early in the day, you deleted an article called Yaaq as G1. The article was not gibberish or nonsensical – it was written in the Somali language and it details a town in Somalia. The existence of Yaaq is confirmed here: [1]. The article was posted in the section for non-English entries in need of translation, and I had also requested the article’s creator for an English version. I don't know how it came to get a G1 tag, unless someone substituted the translate tag for a speedy delete tag. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 21:48, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, User:Yupik tagged it as db-spam and I'll confess that I did not recognize the Somali language. Give me a moment and I'll restore the article. - Dravecky (talk) 22:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I've restored it with an appropriate note in the history, reverted the addition of the spam tag and removal of the not-English tag, and added both a proper category and a stub tag to the article. If there had been any kind of note or clue in the text, article history, or on the talk page I would have declined the speedy but I hope you can understand why I made the call I did. - Dravecky (talk) 22:07, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

A germ of an idea
Respecting your opinion as I do, and having enjoyed working with you as I have, I had a thought that I wanted to throw past you and get your opinion on.
Having made my way through all the U.S. call sign disambiguations, I've now moved on to the Canadian ones, while also trying to clean up that mess of frequency disambiguation pages that were created a while back. As I've been doing this, I've started thinking about the broader issue of keeping these pages clean of incoming links. The watchlist feature of Wikipedia Cleaner helps for the ones that existed when I dumped them in there, but how would I know if new pages were created so that I could help keep those clean too? It's just felt like something was missing — that there was a gap in the toolkit.
And then it hit me. We have disambig for the normal cases, geodis for place names, hndis for people's names, schooldis for educational institutions, etc. Why not callsigndis — a template that would feed , where all disambiguation pages for radio and TV station call signs could be housed.
This would operate under the same rules as the other sub-disambiguation pages — if the page only has call signs, it could just be tagged with callsigndis and the template would automatically include the page in both and . On the other hand, if the page includes both call signs and other types of entries, then the instruction would be to tag it with both disambig and , so that it has the general disambiguation page visual at the bottom of the page.
Coding the template and template documentation looks pretty straightforward, because I could just piggyback off the coding for geodis. The first run of tagging all the pages would be a huge job, but that only has to happen once. After that, it's just a simple matter of comparing the 3 or 4 letter abbreviation articles starting with C, K, V, or W (to cover Canada and the U.S., at least) that are members of against the same range of every once in a while to find the newly-created disambiguation pages and then retag them, clean them of incoming links, get them onto a cleaning watch list, etc.
Anyway, long post, but I'd be curious to hear what you think of the idea. Thanks in advance for your attention. Mlaffs (talk) 21:49, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I like the general idea but that category name's not quite the right one. I think is more in line with and will prevent people from trying to apply the category to non-dab articles. I'm all for anything that keeps Wikipedia, and especially the radio station portion, more organized and easier to maintain. - Dravecky (talk) 23:06, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed — it wasn't ringing completely right for me either, and I like your suggestion. So, the big question is, oh ye of the freshly-handled mop, does this require some discussion at WP:DAB, WP:WPRS, and/or WP:TVS, or should I just be WP:BOLD? Mlaffs (talk) 23:22, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say "yes" to some discussion, if only to prevent surprise when people's watchlists start going crazy from all those changes. I don't foresee any strong objections from any of the projects involved. - Dravecky (talk) 23:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Cool beans - I'll start with the radio & TV folks and see if they're even interested in using it before I go to the dab folks. Thanks for the sounding board! Mlaffs (talk) 00:16, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Restoring broken formatting and useless Easter Eggs?
What is the value to the encyclopedia of edits like this one? I hope you're not trying to make a point. --John (talk) 19:02, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm simply trying to undo the latest swath of damage to contextual links caused by an improperly coded bot. There is an ongoing discussion which has been moved to WT:MOSNUM on this subject. - Dravecky (talk) 19:05, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I saw that. Lightmouse's edit that I highlighted your reversion of was in fact correct as there is consensus on the planes project not to use Easter Egg links in this way as they are held (I believe correctly) to serve no purpose. What would you say the damage was you were trying to repair exactly? --John (talk) 19:14, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- See my reply at WT:MOSNUM as WP:EGG is actually quite clear that such contextual links are permitted in exactly the usages that Lightbot was undoing. - Dravecky (talk) 21:19, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- It says "Avoid piping links from "year" to "year something" or "something year" (e.g., 1991) in the main prose of an article in most cases. Use an explicit cross-reference, e.g., (see 1991 in music), if it is appropriate to link a year to such an article at all." Maybe you should go read it again. --John (talk) 23:12, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- As I noted at WT:MOSNUM (which was then moved back to Lightmouse's talk page and which he has chosen to delete) many of his edits were to infoboxes and sports articles which are black-letter exceptions to the general caution against piped links. He has done this a number of times and when some other editors took it to WP:ANI last month, it was apparently resolved when he promised to discontinue such edits in the future. Now he claims he was "frustrated" but has resumed these edits against consensus and his own promise as he no longer feels "frustrated". I laid out plenty of diffs to illustrate the problems cause by this bot which you should be able to see in the history. - Dravecky (talk) 00:44, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. Lightmouse did not delete it, incidentally, but moved it back to the MOS talk page where it belongs. Can you show evidence that "infoboxes and sports articles ... are black-letter exceptions to the general caution against piped links", please? Thanks in advance. --John (talk) 00:57, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and while you are at it, can you answer the question on the specific edit I queried, which concerned neither an infobox nor a sports article. Thanks, --John (talk) 01:02, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

- (de-indent)WP:EGG says, "However, piped links may be useful in places where compact presentation is important (some tables, infoboxes and lists); and in the main prose of articles in which such links are used heavily, as is often the case with sports biographies that link to numerous season articles." - Dravecky (talk) 01:18, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

- That edit was one of several to articles "in which such links are used heavily" and seemed to be part of larger the pattern of inappropriate edits by the bot. If you feel this specific edit in in error, please feel free to revert it or make any other edits to that article you feel appropriate. - Dravecky (talk) 01:45, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, that is a good reply. As they say in primary school, two wrongs do not make a right, and I feel that while there may well have been problems with certain of Lightbot's edits, blind mass reversion of another user's good faith edits is also a problematic behavior. Much better to discuss civilly towards a solution, as we seem to have done here. Best wishes, --John (talk) 02:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

WJBE
Regarding your question about DYK eligibility for WJBE if it gets split.... I'm pretty sure the "WJBE (defunct)" article would not count as "new" if it were based on the section from this article...rather, it would probably have to be expanded from that (currently 802 characters, so it would have to get up to 4000)...but I'm not 100% sure, so you may want to see input from one of the admins or other longer-standing contributors here (Gatoclass, BorgQueen, Art LaPella, Orlady, Suntag, Royalbroil, Daniel Case, RyanCross are some). One possible solution is that you could remove that section right now and put it in your userspace (under something like User:Dravecky/WJBE (defunct radio station)) and then restore it to article space once it's ready.... if it was out of article space for a long enough time, we might be able to make an exception and consider it "new" content, rather than requiring 5x expansion. —Politizer talk/contribs 06:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Given that a brief history of other notable stations that share a station's call letters is encouraged for radio station articles, I'm quite averse to removing the text for the sole purpose of making it easier for me to get this in DYK at some point in the future. I only got into DYK after a suggestion in my (successful) RfA and while it's a thrill to see an article I've helped create or expand get some attention on the front page, for me the creation of the new content is more important that any possible award. That said, I do have a couple of other hook hopefuls up at the moment, one of which is shockingly not about a radio station in Alabama. The hook I wrote for The Betrayal (film) just got put in the next update queue, too. (I didn't work on the article or make the nomination but the promoted hook is the one I wrote.) I'm enjoying this DYK experience and hope to see more interesting facts from my articles shared with the larger Wikipedia readership. - Dravecky (talk) 06:48, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- That's a good point; improving the encyclopedia is definitely better than getting awards, and removing content just to make it into a DYK later would not be very good for the encyclopedia. We can wait and see what happens with the proposed split of the current WJBE article, but in any case it's good that you've got other nominations up as well! I just got started at DYK about two months ago when I stumbled across it and nominated one of my new articles for fun, and while I was there I figured I should do my part to review a couple other ones as well, and then I just got dragged into it and have never stopped...it's a lot of fun to work at. I look forward to seeing you there more in the future! And, by the way, congratulations on your RfA. —Politizer talk/contribs 06:58, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

KUZZ
The citation is already there for what you were talking about. It's down at the end of all that. The citation at the bottom is for the whole thing, just so you know. That's why I have a citation there. If you click on the #4 citation under reference, you can see why I put the citation there at the end.--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:44, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, the "History" section wasn't just based on that article—it was a word-for-word copy of that entire article! I have removed the entire copyright-violating text. A new History section could be written based on that primary text and other reliable sources but it can't be a simple copy of somebody else's existing article. - Dravecky (talk) 06:20, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds cool. Would you be able to help me retype the entire History for KUZZ, so that it's not word for word. By the way, there's no need for the tag, if the citations that where needed were for the history.--JoeCool950 (talk) 02:55, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Mark where you think citations need to be at on KUZZ, because where you had it at, you took that out. No need for the tag, unless you see other places for a citation, or reference. If I can reword the History, then I'll type it in there tonight, if you can think of how to reword it, then cool. I might even see if some else I know on Wikipedia can work on the history and we'll have it to where it's not word for word. Would you mind looking at Tehachapi High School? There was some contraversy on that page and to me, looks like the KUZZ history, word for word. If you want to read it. You're more than welcome to rewrite that, if you agree that it's word for word. Whoever started that page copied it right from what the reference says. If you can reword that, so that it's not word for word, you're more than welcome to. I left a comment on the talk page. You can read that if you want. I was just giving my thought about the Tehachapi High School page. But, to me, that page could be rewritten. Thanks.--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:14, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

KUZZ History
Would you be able to rewrite the KUZZ history, so that it's not word for word from the website. I would greatly appriciate it. You might be able to do better at rewriting it, so that it's not word for word. Thanks. It's not back up there, or what was on there. I've been meaning to take it off to work on it, but wasn't sure how. If you're in the process of working on it, then totally cool. The original one will stay off and we'll get the new one that's not word for word up whenever it's rewritten. Thanks for your help.--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:11, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not rewriting the history section myself because I'm in the middle of other tasks and don't have the same ready access to Bakersfield-specific sources that you would. I do suggest you take a stab at rewriting it, especially if you can find multiple sources to verify the history. - Dravecky (talk) 03:18, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm working on it also, but don't know if I want to rewrite it. Too much stuff. Suggestions???--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:34, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Tag on KUZZ
Don't know why you left the tag up, unless you're leaving it up until the history is rewritten? If so, then I'll add one more tag that should be up there also--JoeCool950 (talk) 03:11, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- The tag is on the article since it's almost completely unreferenced. The opening and programming sections need proper sourcing from reliable primary and third-party sources. - Dravecky (talk) 03:15, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Let me know if that's better?--JoeCool950 (talk) 04:00, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, thanks, but other than the JET articles all I can get at through Google Books is snippets. It's enough to tell me where to look (and WorldCat tells me where the books are hidden across the D/FW Metroplex) but it seems no single library here has more than one of the eight books that will help me expand this more than another couple of paragraphs. I do appreciate the assist. - Dravecky (talk) 04:54, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

I don't know any other thing that needs to be referenced, but that stuff shouldn't be removed. If it looks better, then go ahead and take the tag off.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:00, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Suggestion for KUZZ History
Do you have any suggestions for the KUZZ History, so that it doesn't look like it's word for word. Let me know. Don't feel like rewriting the whole thing out. Let me know what I could do with what was up there.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:14, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I know what I'll do, I'll do a history of 107.9 itself. Let me know if that's good, or should be of KUZZ itself. Need suggestions, before it's rewritten and put up?
- It's the KUZZ article and the article about the FM radio station at 107.9 MHz so history sections about KUZZ (AM), KUZZ-FM, and the other stations at 107.9 FM would all be appropriate. The ref-improve tag needs to stay on the article until a few more references from third-party (i.e. independent of the radio station, Buck Owens, etc.) sources have been added. (See WJDB-FM, currently featured on the Main Page in the "Did You Know?" section, for an example of the kind of sourcing that would be appropriate.) - Dravecky (talk) 06:36, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Added Reference for KUZZ and need opinion for History
I added a reference for what I think you were talking about that has the actual name of the company that owns KUZZ. I'll put it on KCWR too, since KCWR is a sister station.
- I also need your opinion for the History stuff that was up, do you think that was too much, even though it as copied, do you think that was too much information. I'll put the orginal in my sandbox, and you can show me, if you know how what needs to be cut out. That's what I'm trying to do right now, and then reword it and still use the about us as a reference. Let me know though. I'm not putting the history section back up, until reworded, so that it's not copied. I'll put the orginal on how it was in my sandbox, because what will be the orginal won't go up, until it looks like it's not copied word for word from what's on the KUZZ website on section "about us". Thanks.--JoeCool950 (talk) 01:52, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

- No problem — I just kept a running tally as I was tagging all the dab pages with the new template/category, which is also all but done now. Not being a project member, I didn't want to presume, but if you think that the project would be interested in having this missing articles list as a subpage there, I wouldn't object at all to it being moved over. That's why I left that comment to that one user that you noticed, because what was on there was what that dude put up who I left the comment to "not to change KVMX again." Yours is better. Dravecky, would you mind checking the FCC webpage for WSYA to see if the lack of information on there about its tower and transmitter is of any significance to the WSYA page? Additionally, you might want to know that there are unconfirmed reports circulating that this station has been repossessed by the bank through which it was financed. WTCW
Got this message about WTCW and am not sure how to procede:
"Hey Neutralhomer, another editor has added some info on WTCW that is possibly incorrect. Being a lifelong Letcher County, Kentucky resident, I do listen to WTCW and it does have a classic country format as well as being an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds radio network. However, The True Oldies Channel website added by the editor still mentions WTCW as an affiliate. To top it all off, the station website--a subsite of sister station WXKQ's website--has the program schedule for WXKQ (which has a classic hits format) listed as theirs. Unless the editor knows some future plans for the stations, there seems to be a whole lot of discrepencies. Your thoughts?? Willking1979 (talk) 15:42, 20 December 2008 (UTC)"
The True Oldies Channel website has been known to be a little off sometimes, having old information. Since the main station website says it is Classic Country....should we take off the information about True Oldies Channel or leave as is? Take Care...NeutralHomer • Talk • December 21, 2008 @ 00:26
- I've pulled the oldies info pending some sort of independent confirmation. I added it in good faith but the station website is inconclusive and I can't find a good recent third-party source. As to the state of the station's website, that's something they'll have to take up with station manager. Oh, and feel free to let Willking1979 know that they can always ask me about my edits directly. (I'm mostly harmless.) - Dravecky (talk) 02:36, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I completely understand you added in good faith, so no worries there. My main concern was that the True Oldies Channel site was out of date....having old information it might cause innocent goofs in your editing.
- I will do a Google search and see if I can't find a third-party source that has updated format information for WTCW.
- I will let Willking1979 he can contact you too, that you don't bite :) Take Care....NeutralHomer • Talk • December 21, 2008 @ 03:31

KUZZ Page
Let me know if there's any more references that need to be on the KUZZ page. If not, I'm guessing the tag can be taken off.--JoeCool950 (talk) 06:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- The listed company name does not match the one in the Goliath reference. The BuckOwens.com reference is to a menu page that does not back up the claim it is supposed to source. And the programming section needs at least one or two independent sources, like a newspaper article or magazine story, for verifiability and to show notability. The primary sources you have added help a bit but this needs at least one or to third-party sources before the tag can come off. - Dravecky (talk) 08:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

KUZZ Page
I fixed up the references a bit, to make them make sense and added one reference for the Program Director. His real name is Evan Bridwell. KC Adams is his radio name. Thought there should be a reference for him. Let me know if that helps a lot. You can read in the history to see what I did, to help out the page. Let me know if that helped out a lot.--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:23, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- KUZZ looks better. Hopefully, the references I added helped out. I did some research on what else you were talking about for the programming. Hopefully, that helped out a lot.--JoeCool950 (talk) 07:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Concern for WYCD page
Someone on the WYCD page keeps adding in a schedule. I keep changing back to how it should be. The sister stations have schedules similar to what someone keeps changing WYCD back to. Plus, WWWW-FM has the same thing. Not sure if the pages should be watched or not. Just wanted to let you know what's up with these pages, especially WYCD, which I would consider vandalism of the person who keeps putting the schedule times back on there.--JoeCool950 (talk) 05:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up the articles and left the IP editor an explanation. I hope this is sufficient. - Dravecky (talk) 06:12, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- That looks better. The ones you fixed, you'll have to watch, because I fixed WYCD as you noticed to how it should be and I went back on and changed it to how it should be and whoever is changing it keeps changing it. Just wanted to make you aware of it. If whoever it is does it again, need to report them for vandalism, if you agree?--JoeCool950 (talk) 07:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Kinlock Shelter
Thanks for looking to improve Kinlock Shelter. You recently added the Alabama structure stub tag to Kinlock Shelter. I have changed it to the generic Alabama stub tag, as I'm not sure a rock shelter, which is a natural feature, falls under the building/structure tag. Since the geography tag doesn't really fit either, I think the generic stub status works best. I hope you don't mind. Jo7hs2 (talk) 01:37, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- I consider it a structure but this is not a deeply held conviction so I bow to your greater experience with this topic. Thanks for helping to improve this and any other Alabama-related article. - Dravecky (talk) 07:11, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Malfunctioning DYK bot that need fixing
Hello! Sorry to bother, but the current slate of DYK-honoured articles from 20:55, 28 December 2008, (including my entry for A Daughter of the Congo) seemed to be the victim of a malfunctioning DYK bot. All of the articles received templates for DYK notice, but none of the authors received the DYK notice on their talk pages. I saw that you were the admin who put that list together, so I am asking if you could please rectify that error and send out the DYK notices to the editors whose work was honoured. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 20:48, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- This appears to be the second time the bot dropped the ball (see messages above). Is there any way to fix this? Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 01:30, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

- Gatoclass asked me to look into the bot's recent erratic behavior; If the same editor has written/nominated multiple articles, we need to add different amounts of spaces after the username for the additional articles, as instructed here. Otherwise they will receive the same credit multiple times. I am not certain if it is the cause or there are more, but the bot is highly sensitive to the format thing; it needs to be awfully precise. --BorgQueen (talk) 05:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- The spacing thing hasn't been the issue, best I can tell, and the issue of late has been that if there are any credits for nominators then none of the credits for creators will get posted but if it's all creators then they get posted just fine, no matter how many go to a single editor. - Dravecky (talk) 05:51, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

If you edit a protected page, please post on the talk page that you have done so and remove the Template:Editprotected. Otherwise the page remains in 'Category:Wikipedia protected edit requests'. Also, and this is a matter of opinion: if an edit is requested to one of the most active pages on Wikipedia, usually the input of more than two editors is necessary to ensure consensus exists for a content change. We literally just got through an edit war on Meet the Press over the inclusion of the name of the show's host in the title of the article. The one & only editor who promoted the use of "Meet the Press with David Gregory" argued that because the title card says something, that's the name of the show. In short, no, that's not how you judge the name of an article, or the title of an Infobox. The remainder of this comment is copied from an earlier comment to another editor who is not applying the principle of WP:RS:
Don't be confused by what the show's graphic says; graphic designers don't decide the names of shows. The graphic is telling you both the name of the show, and its host. A graphic is allowed to do that. If you read, say, the press release announcing Shuster's selection as the host of the show, they put the words "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" in quotes. Same thing with the transcript for the most recent show. You are also welcome to check your local TV listings, the source code to the 1600 Pa. Ave home page (which does not contain the words "with David"), and any number of other reliable sources (e.g. New York Times), which is the only true criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. Warren -talk- 05:21, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'll confess, I was also thrown by MSNBC shows Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann which both do appear to contain the hosts names in their full official titles on the MSNBC website as well as other places. After reviewing the MSNBC site, I'm content that you're right about the naming for the show. Sorry for any confusion. - Dravecky (talk) 06:03, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
User:Cirt added a Dyk credit for the article on my talk, but the article is missing a DYK tag, and also is missing from the archive. Cirt told me to contact User:Dravecky, who was in charge of adding DYK tags on the article talk, as per discussion above. Can you please help me? Is the article a DYK? Where is the article entry? I searched in the archive and nomination page by using Ctrl + F, maybe i missed it. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:37, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, first things first: that set wasn't in the archives yet since the bot didn't do the update to the next set properly and I'm having to do by hand all the stuff it's supposed to do automatically as quickly as I can. Second, the bot handed out all of the creator and nominator credits without issue for that set but only handed out article credits for the articles without parentheses in their names so I just had to manually tag Koni (dog) and Oil Shale (journal) as well as the church. I can't wait until the DYK regulars are back since I'm just the Emergency Holographic Doctor trying to keep it running in their absence. I hope this helps! - Dravecky (talk) 05:56, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: A few notes on assembling a DYK queue
Thanks for the notes - I agree that would be optimal, but it'd be easier if more hooks were ready and verified to accomplish that. Cirt (talk) 06:40, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well, with four or five queues already assembled, that gives editors a full day to verify the existing hooks before we "need" to start filling more queues. - Dravecky (talk) 06:44, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
