- @Winkelvi: Thank you! Unfortunately, I was in the hospital for two days due to some complications with my heart, and the doctors have stated that they believe I had a Pericarditis and myocarditis attack, in which I was rushed to the emergency room the day after New Year's Day. I am doing better, but have to have extensive follow ups with a cardiologist, and I have not been able to edit Wikipedia for several weeks due to the chaotic holiday season. Hopefully, i'll be editing more in the future. Cheers! CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 21:54, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
4th GA Cup - Round 2
Greetings, GA Cup competitors! December 29th marked the end of the first round, after it was extended from its previously scheduled conclusion at the end of November. Because of the smaller pool of contestants this year, it was decided to keep sign-ups open throughout the month of December. This extension proved to be very helpful as we saw that more users signed up and completed many reviews. Krishna Chaitanya Velaga earned an impressive 402 points, followed by Cartoon network freak with a close 338 points. Shearonink who signed up after our extension was in third with 170 points. We had a rule clarification in Round 1 which was that many articles were being passed with blatant copyright violations and plagarism occurring in the articles. Thus, the judges have concluded that if an article is passed even if it has a copyright violation/plagarism, we will not provide points for that article as it wouldn't be considered a "complete review" under the scoring rules. In the end, 94 articles were reviewed by 14 users who will all advance to Round 2. The judges had planned on having 16 contestants advance but since only 14 did, we are changing the pools in this round. We will be having 2 pools of 3 and 2 pools of 4 in Round 2, with the top 2 in each pool advancing to Round 3 as well as the top participant ("9th place") of all remaining competitors. Round 2 will begin on January 1 at 00:00:00 UTC and will end on January 29 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 2 and the pools can be found here. Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase! To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. 4th GA Cup - Round 3
Hello, GA Cup competitors! Sunday saw the end of Round 2. Shearonink took out Round 2 with an amazing score of 499. In second place, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga earned an astounding 236 points, and in third place, Cartoon network freak received 136 points. Originally, we had plans for one wild card for 9th place, however it appears that both Chris troutman and J Milburn were tied for 9th place. Therefore, we have decided to have both advance to Round 3. In Round 2, 91 reviews were completed! At the beginning of this GA Cup, the longest wait was over 7 months; at the end of Round 2, the longest wait had decreased to a little over 6 months. It's clear that we continue to make a difference at GAN and throughout Wikipedia, something we should all be proud of. Thanks to all our competitors for helping to make the GA Cup a continued success, and for your part in helping other editors improve articles. We hope to see all remaining users fighting it out in Round 3 so we can keep decreasing the backlog. To qualify for the third round, contestants had to earn the two highest scores in each of the four pools in Round 2; plus, one wildcard. For Round 3, users were placed in 3 random pools of 3. To qualify for the Final of the 3rd Annual GA Cup, the top user in each pool will progress, and there will also be one wildcard. This means that the participant who comes in 4th place (all pools combined) will also move on. Round 3 has already started and will end on February 26 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 3 and the pools can be found here. Also, we'd like to announce the departure of judge Zwerg Nase. We thank him for all his hardwork and hope to see him back in the future. Good luck and have fun! Cheers from Figureskatingfan, 3family6, Jaguar, and MrWooHoo. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletter, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. 4th GA Cup - The Final
Hello, GA Cup competitors! Sunday, February 26 saw the end of Round 3. Shearonink finished in first with 616 points, which is more than the point totals for all the other competitors combined! In second place, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga earned an impressive 152 points, followed by Sturmvogel_66 in third with 111 points. Chris troutman and Kees08 each received a wild-card and were able to advance to the Final Round. There was a major error on the part of the judges, and initially, 8 users were advanced instead of 5. This has been corrected, and we sincerely apologize for this confusion. In Round 3, 71 reviews were completed! At the beginning of this GA Cup, the longest wait was over 7 months; at the end of Round 3, the longest wait is still holding steady at a little over 6 months, the same as for the previous round. By the end of all three Rounds, the total number of nominations increased slightly - this suggests that users are more willing to nominate, knowing that their articles will be reviewed. We hope to see all remaining users fighting it out in the Final so we can keep tackling the backlog. In the Final Round, the user with the highest score will be the winner. The Final has already started and will end on March 31st at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Finals and the pools can be found here. Good luck and have fun! 4th GA Cup - Wrap Up
Hello, GA Cup competitors! Saturday, April 1 concluded the 2016-2017 GA Cup. 64 reviews were completed by our finalists. Although the backlog increased by 42 over the reviewing period instead of declining, the increase suggests that the contest is encouraging editors to nominate articles for review. Congratulations to Shearonink, who is the winner of the Cup, finishing with 672 points! Once again, just as in last round, this is more than the point totals for all the other competitors combined! It was a close race for second place between Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, who achieved 164 points, and Sturmvogel_66, who earned 150. Though Sturmvogel_66 reviewed one more article than Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga managed to earn 14 points more due to reviewing older articles. Our two wildcard competitors, Kees08 and Chris troutman, came in fourth and fifth, respectively. There were some bumps in the competition this time: The sign-up deadline and the first round were both extended due to fewer competitors signing up then was planned for. And there were delays in tallying points and getting out the newsletter. The judges apologize for this latter difficulty. Lastly, mid-way through the competition we bid farewell to Zwerg Nase, who stepped down from their position as judge due to other commitments. Information about the Final can be found here. Thank you to all of our competitors, and congrats to our winners! Cheers from Figureskatingfan, 3family6, Jaguar, and MrWooHoo. - @K6ka: thank you for your thoughtfulness and tranquil comment during this important nomination. I peacefully acknowledge that the request for adminship is not an easy process, but the heart of Wikipedia identity is to keep the peace and put the project and community at heart before my own interest. I do love cats, and they definitely help calm my stress She is very cute! I'll keep her safe and feed her come delicious chocolate chip cookies Best regards to you, CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 02:10, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
Your RfA
Heyo CookieMonster755, I am sorry for the way it turned out. As someone who has watched you through your a bit of a shaky start, I can say that you have definitely improved a lot. And that is clearly evident by the fine edits you have made since your return. If you keep this up, I do see you becoming an admin in the future. But I believe that there's still some room for improvement which will come with time and experience.
More importantly, you need some time to settle back in. The block-unblock and everything that happened is still way too recent to be ignored. Don't get me wrong though. I have full faith in you and I don't believe that you are going to do anything like that ever again. But that's just me and for the community to be able to trust you enough to grant you admin tools, you need to prove that you are genuinely editing for the project's benefit, and that you have developed the right temperament and clue. Unfortunately, the events of the past will most likely haunt you a little even if you try after some time - which is entirely natural.
It takes time to come back from bad events but I believe you can do that. I really do believe that you can be a fine admin but you'll have to give it some time and keep up the good editing that you have been doing. I would be pretty optimistic about your RfA maybe after a year or two. To be realistic, you will definitely face opposition based on those past events no matter how long you wait but you can pass for sure if you have demonstrated persistent and level-headed editing - something that I believe you are very much capable of. Because I know that you have always tried to improve and you have done an excellent job with that.
Then again, there is so much more to Wikipedia than adminship. Not having the admin tools doesn't really affect one's editing in the main space - which is what this project is truly about. In any case, I hope you won't let this discourage you or get to you in any way. This does not at all mean that you are a bad editor - just that a few bad things happened too recently. You are a fine editor, a great example of someone who has truly improved, and someone who shows a lot of potential. Don't feel bad about this and keep doing your thing. We need dedicated editors like you to stick around. Kind regards, — Yash talk stalk 06:39, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
- As someone else who has been through the RfA process (also unsuccessfully) here's my free advice: keep your head up, go back to editing and enjoying the content-creator and other non-admin side of things here. Hope to see you around! - Bri (talk) 15:55, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
- To @Yash!: I want to thank you, with all honesty, for your thoughtfulness during this awkward time in the Wikipedia community. I have had a recent undertaking from the Wikipedia community–and they made their voices loud and clear that adminship is not for me. I understand the position of the community, and accept the verdict of this failed nomination. However, I will still continue to work on making the community a better place for newcomers, and building existing projects to surpass the level of excellency we have now. My block was due to behavior that I regret, and frustration with the Wikipedia community for not being nicer to me. However, I'm making contributions that help the website, and look forward to continuing to serve this community as an editor and pending rights reviewer. You are right, there is much more to adminship. The focus for me is to improve Articles for Creation and create a dynamic editing aspect that will serve Wikipedia for the greater good. Thank you for your kind regards, and I hope we talk soon. Until than, best regards, CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 21:06, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
- To @Bri: Thank you for your lovely comment. I will continue to improve content and use my existing power(s) to improve the community for the better. I hope to see you soon. Cheers, CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 21:06, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
AN/I
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Beyond My Ken (talk) 13:00, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Beyond My Ken: I saw the discussion, and with regret, after it was closed. My intentions was not to cause chaos, but it seems like my witty and tranquil persona has had you concerned. I want to inform you, that I am pleased that you have reported me, but it was misguided to assume that I am WP:NOTHERE. However, the discussion was solved with tranquility of administrators, and I thank you for using good manners during this awkward situation I've put myself in. I just want to let you know, first hand, that my recently declined RfA was out of all seriousness, but I preformed a humors persona as a save face for my reputation after the failed RfA. I'm definitely committed to improving this website and building a stronger community. To assume my efforts are with void is the wrong approach to the Wikipedia identity. All my love, CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 20:59, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
A cup of tea for you!
Hi CookieMonster755. Sorry to see that your RFA was WP:SNOW-closed. I was surprised to see the ANI thread as well. Wikipedia is (sadly) a place where drama like this run rampant, but not everyone here is a snake in the grass. Now sit back, have a cup of tea, clear your head, and start over. You can still do great things on Wikipedia without being an administrator. (I assume you want cookies with your tea?) —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:27, 9 May 2017 (UTC) |
- @K6ka: thank you for your kind message of support. Yes, the RFA was SNOW closed, but I am grateful for the learning opportunity I got from this experience. The ANI thread was started out of bad judgement, and was closed due to lack of WP:NOTHERE evidence against me. I have no anger against anyone here, but like you said, drama is rampant in the Wikipedia community which can cloud judgement among editors in doing the right thing. I do really love tea, thank you *sip sip* and I love cookies (my username, haha). I am doing much good work for the community even though I am not an administrator, and I am thankful for having editor friends like you. You make the community tasty and drama-free. Cheers, with best regards, CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 02:36, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

ASCE wonders
I can't find any reference that the ASCE had the NYC Twin Towers on their list of "seven wonders of the modern world" - all the lists I can find, including the one referenced in Seven Wonders article, list the Empire State Building but say nothing about the Twin Towers. Do you have a reference for that? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 00:27, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- @DavidWBrooks: There is a source regarding the former World Trade Center Twin Towers as a former "wonder" on the PANYNJ (they own the WTC) website, here. CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 23:41, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

Articles in the Courts of... series
These articles are part of a complete and longstanding series of articles listing the courts in each state. It is important not to confuse these with "Judiciary of" articles, which are about the judicial structure specific to those states, which these are not. They include all courts physically located in those states, whether they are part of the judiciary of the state or not (for example, Courts of New York containing the United States Court of International Trade, an federal tribunal with international jurisdiction that happens to be located in New York City). bd2412 T 01:48, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:100 Adelaide Street West Rendering.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:100 Adelaide Street West Rendering.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:45, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- I saw that you prodded this file for deletion. Since you are the uploader of the non-free file, you realy don't need to prod it for deletion since you seem to agree that it's no longer needed. You can use {{rfu}} or even {{db-author}} instead. I've tagged it with the former and just notified you as a courtesy. Prod takes seven days and anyone can de-prod the file, even in bad-faith. The other templates take much less time to resolve so an adminsitrator will get to them much more quickly. Another option would've been to simply let the file be deleted as an orphan per WP:F5. This takes at least five days as long as nobody re-adds the file to an article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:54, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, @Marchjuly: thank you for notifying me of this matter. I replaced the deletion template with {{db-author}} – the file is no longer needed due to the fact that a free image has been found. Thank you for giving me tips on files and deletion matters, I really appreciate it cheers, CookieMonster755✉ 03:02, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

Cookie, please stop responding to him. You are giving him exactly what he wants. That's what DFTT means. Give the admins some time to deal with it.
