An article you recently created, 1993 Narva and Sillamäe autonomy referendum, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Swiss election results

Majority

As per reliable sources, majorities in the UK are calculated under this system. Other, different calculation systems may be more common in other countries, maybe because those favor more the margin above the majority threshold rather than a working majority, I don't know. That different countries favour different systems to calculate the majority margin does not does not mean it is wrong. Impru20talk 13:39, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

@Impru20: and why are the majorities calculating SF and the speakers?

  • Focaldata: 364-(189+52+23+10+1+7 (SF)+4 (Speaker)) = 78
  • Electoral Calculus: 363-(186+48+31+9+3+1+1+1+7 (SF)) = 76
  • Election Maps UK: 378-(172+50+28+9+3+1+1+1+7 (SF)) = 106

my calculation was originally based on: Con-(650-SF-Speakers)/2

Changes on 'Opinion polling for the 2024 Belgian federal election' page

Hi Braganza. You made some changes on the Opinion polling for the 2024 Belgian federal election page. You changed the current government to the minority government (Wilmès II) + support of other parties (which are not a part of the government). Imo, this is not correct! The composition of the current government is MR, Open VLD and CD&V, no others. Also see this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilmès_II_Government The parties supporting the government are only doing this for a very short period, just to beat the corona crisis, and are not part of the government. I think it's best to revert your changes, so the numbers reflect the composition of the minority government (MR, Open VLD and CD&V), as it was before. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EotT123 (talkcontribs) 13:34, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

But it also makes little sense to compare a kind of "rump government", that at no point (since Dec. 2018) had an approximate majority, with the opposition Braganza (talk)
This makes perfectly sense, cause this is what the page is about. There is no majority government, which doesn't mean that you have to create an artificial one. You just have to let the numbers reflect the current state, even if there is no majority. That's just the state of Belgium today: since the fall of the government in december 2018, we don't have a real government (with a majority) anymore. Period. No need to say something else or change the numbers because that doesn't make sense. EotT123 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:09, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

In fact, this government-opposition comparison serves to compare whether the current government can continue to exist and not whether a minority government exists because of a government crisis Braganza (talk) 09:44, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

--

You could have added a new (temporary?) column to include this information. The support of the other parties of the opposition might not last long, as it is already crumbling. We don't have the same view on this, so I leave this for now. I'll wait until we are in one of the following situations:

  • A new government (with a majority) is formed. In this case, the numbers should be changed to reflect the new combination of parties in the government.
  • The minority government loses the support of the other parties, and we're back to the previous situation. In this case, the numbers should be changed to the previous state again.
  • New elections. In this case, the numbers should also be changed to the previous state again.

EotT123 18:56, 02 May 2020 (UTC)

I would wait to we could use <!-- --> for this time period. Braganza (talk) 19:46, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

Warning

Hi, I see you've recently edited a fair share of categories. I do not know how you reached that information or even what you think it qualifies as "catholic political party", but please refrain from categorising labels en masse without references to reliable secondary sources and even a mention in the body of the respective articles. Regards.--Asqueladd (talk) 08:59, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

"francoism is a type of falganism" what does that even mean? If you mean "Francoism is a type of falangism", 1) broadly constructed: no 2) that is unconsequential to your edit. We don't edit by degrees of separation of free association of ideas--Asqueladd (talk) 09:03, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
@Asqueladd: If it says that the party is neo-fracoistic, it is very relevant; After all, "Fracoistic" Spain was ruled by the "Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista" Braganza (talk) 09:12, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Look, mate. Label on the basis of what sources state. It's very simple. If the party is labelled as "neofrancoist"... then label it as such on the basis of that label (instead of drawing mildly reasonable and/or outright nonsensical original research from that fact). And so on. We don't have currently that label. We have "far right political parties" which comes it handy because the party is also sourced as such. What problem do you have with that procedure?--Asqueladd (talk) 09:19, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Spain was not ruled by the "Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista (and even then the notion of an encompassing dominant ideology called falangism covering both FE de las JONS and that organization is somewhat troubling), Spain was ruled by Franco. That you apparently think Franco was a "falangist", that his dictatorship is deemed "falangist" or that "Francoism is a subtype of Falangism" are your personal opinions (not particularly informed ones).--Asqueladd (talk) 09:24, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
All in all, if I get you right, the reasoning that follows the "this is neofrancoist", so it is "francoist", so it is "falangist", so it is a "catholic political party" is bluntly speaking idiotic (no less because the relation of (original) falangism with the Catholic church is more nuanced than the case of francoism). Spanish Alternative may be a Catholic political party (it has been described as in "linked up with the "Catholic-fundamentalist spectrum" per Büttner, Frauke (2011). "Right-wing extremism in Spain: Between parliamentary insignificance, far-right populism and racist violence". Is Europe on the "right" path? Right-wing extremism and right-wing populism in Europe (PDF). pp. 181–195. ISBN 978-3-86872-617-6.), but even then you need a source explicitly addressing that issue. That is not the case with most of the rest of categorizations made by you in any case.--Asqueladd (talk) 09:43, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Then please delete "Under the leadership of Francisco Franco, it largely became an authoritarian, conservative ideology connected with Francoist Spain." (and all other sentences about Franco's opinions like Visigoths) and "Falangism places a strong emphasis on Catholic religious identity, though it has held some secular views on the Church's direct influence in society as it believed that the state should have the supreme authority over the nation.; It was less concerned about biological Spanish racial regeneration than it was in advocating the necessity of Spanish Catholic spiritual regeneration.; Primo de Rivera saw the solution to the Jewish problem in Spain as simple: the conversion of Jews to Catholicism." from the article on Falangism and Francoist Spain on their template. Braganza (talk) 09:57, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a reliable source. And indeed, I've already asked for quite a lot of "citation needed" (and the likes) templates in that article (which seems to mix concepts of political culture, political movement and ideology). A crappy one created by a LTA.--Asqueladd (talk) 10:05, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue this edit pattern, I will report you to ANI.--Asqueladd (talk) 10:10, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Please, for the umpteenth time. Vis-à-vis the categorisation of article of political parties, use the labels used in reliable secondary sources addressing the concerned parties. Insofar you don't bring a source labelling 'X' as "Catholic political party", do not categorise the article of 'X' as such (other labels apply similarly). Is it difficult to understand? If you do not do this nor try to find consensus in the respective talk page, I will report you as a disruptive case of WP:IDONTHEARYOU, the pushing of original research and Wikipedia:Edit warring. Do you get it?--Asqueladd (talk) 10:22, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Original research

I have removed the alleged Turkish party affiliations you added last year from the articles on political parties in Northern Cyprus, such as Republican Turkish Party. By law in Northern Cyprus, there can be no ties between Turkish and Turkish Cypriot parties, and the policies of those parties you linked don't even match up, so this is entirely false original research. That's in contravention of a core policy, so please refrain from such activity in the future (and do let me know if you've had similar additions re. Cyprus/Turkey so I can have a look). Best wishes. --GGT (talk) 21:39, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Please note that disambiguation pages like RAE are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

Results table format

In case you're wondering why it wouldn't work, the issue was the interwiki links. The module uses the name/link in the party field to search for a meta colour template. If the link in the party field is an interwiki, it causes the module to fall over. You can fix this by manually inserting a colour to the relevant row using |color14=#000000 or |color14={{Labour Party/meta/color}} and this will stop the module searching for a meta template. I fixed it in this edit. Cheers, Number 57 23:31, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

@Jingiby: there are more (international) sources with the same information [2][3][4] Braganza (talk) 09:20, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi, Braganza. I found it also in Bulgarian [5]. However for now this is only a claim at the Facebook status of Mickovski. Lets wait to see what is going to happen during the next week in the real politics in NM. Jingiby (talk) 09:31, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello again. According to the Facebook status of Ali Ahmeti in the news, he claims that he controls the political situation and there is no split in the ruling coalition. So let's wait until the political situation is going clearer in the next week. Greetings. Jingiby (talk) 09:48, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

On 17 November 2021, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article 2021 Bulgarian general election, which you updated. 2008 Belarusian parliamentary election

Hello. Do you remember where you got these figures that you added to the article? The CEC source that you cited has no party affiliations.

There are also several oddities with the figures. Firstly, the total number of votes in the table is 5,498,646, which is 113,999 higher than the stated (and actual figure) of 5,384,647 – as 113,999 is the number of invalid votes, it looks like you have included the invalid votes somewhere in the party totals? Also, I reviewed the CEC source, and the total of 'against all', the total is 513,008, not the 505,208 that was added in that series of edits. Cheers, Number 57 16:36, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

To be honest i used the russian wiki but there was a list of candidates per party [6], i will check the data in the next days Braganza (talk) 16:44, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
OK cool, thanks. Number 57 16:48, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Short update @Number 57:; CPB, BAP, LDPB, PCB, BSDH, RPTS & BNF are correct so far, BSDP (H) is actually even higher (by 41,630 votes) cause their number doesn't include those who were labelled "БСДП(Г)" but i still didn't found the real mistake, i have still some trouble with "Against all", Invalid and UCG Braganza (talk) 22:10, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Regarding the 'against all', there are some constituencies with two 'against all' figures. For example, constituency 17 had two candidates, but one dropped out. In the early voting there were 32 'against all' votes, while after they dropped out there were 9,313 'against' votes for the single candidate. Same thing in constituency 53 – 491 against all, 5,626 against single candidate.
In total, there were 1,509 votes cast for four candidates that withdrew.
If it's any help, here is the raw data from the CEC pdf – some constituency headings are missing due to the way the data converted from pdf to excel, but 'Electorate' is the first data row for the constituency, so if there isn't a constituency name directly above that, then it's missing. Number 57 22:30, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
@Number 57; i found my mistake on the invalid votes the 113,999 number is correct (excluding withdrawn candidates; i accidentally added the last 3 or so twice), also your number on the "against all" is correct too
after doublechecking UCG should have 131,931 votes (6,655 more, so our russian colleague oversaw their "first" candidate) & BSDP (A) 59,010
assuming the number for total votes said by Nohlen is correct the independents should have 4,035,567 votes (Nohlen had the invalid votes correct, so their number should be reliable) Braganza (talk) 08:51, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

An article you recently created, 1975 Ålandic legislative election, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:31, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello Braganza. I regularly see you make edits link this where you link a party to a party with a different name. In most cases, the article being linked to gives no impression that the party is the one that contested the election the link is being added from. What evidence do you have that the Croatian Republican Union is the same party as the Croatian Republican Party that contested the 1991 election? If you do have evidence, it would be helpful if you could add it to the party's article, as otherwise editors will click through and find an article that gives no indication they are the same party. Cheers, Number 57 18:34, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

@Number 57: that was their original name [8][9] Braganza (talk) 19:55, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Great, thanks for confirming. It would be really helpful if you could update the party's article to include this information, as otherwise people might click through and think it's a mistaken link. Cheers, Number 57 12:27, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Braganza. Thank you for your work on Democrats (Slovakia). User:Ppt91, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Thank you for creating this page on a Slovak political party! It looks like it's a brand new party, though clearly an important one in Slovak politics, so well done on covering it so quickly. It might be a good idea to mention their ideological/political position in the lead. Also, I believe that neither of the two articles cited in the lead actually confirms the name change to "Demokrati" as it talks still about "Modra koalicia" (I may have missed it, though wanted to point out in case there is a better link to replace it). Please let me know if I can be of any help.

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 11:59, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to List of films featuring giant monsters have been removed because you cited the information you added to IMDb. As discussed at WP:RS/IMDb, IMDb is considered a questionable source, and generally should not be used as a sole reference. You are welcome to re-add the information using a different reliable source, or with an additional source confirming the information from IMDb. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Wikis are similarly unreliable per WP:SPS. Sorry to write to you again. I'm just super frustrated right now, because I have hard time really understanding what exactly the reason for keeping it the color as dark red is. Party logos are not the same thing as what colors each party are associated with. There are examples of political party logos who have multiple colors, but on wikipedia we only use one color, and I really belive that the color should be what the popular association with the party is, instead of how the logo design is. Die Linke - Liberal Alliance - Danish People's Party - DUP - Socialist Left Party - Christian Democratic Party - Swedish People's Party of Finland - Fine Gael - Lega - Forza Italia are examples of parties not using their logo colors, so I really fail to understand why we can't use the same logic for Green Left. It's just much better for maps and images on wikipedia (who doesn't use have the party names included) to have an easy seperation between the parties. If we kept Dark Red (the color that the media use for Social Democrats), readers might think that the information we have on Green Left is about the Social Democrats.

The reason I write to you on your talk page, is the hope of getting an explanation I can agree with, so I would appreciate it if you would argue why you have decided to support Dark Red instead of Hot Pink.

I hope you have a nice day :) Thomediter (talk) 22:12, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

Republican Left/Republican Union

Re your recent edits to French elections, do you have a source that supports the fact that Democratic Republican Alliance = Republican Left and Republican Union = Republican Federation? I couldn't find anything when I was reformatting those articles, hence not linking them. Also, readers will find it a bit confusing to click on a link to "Republican Union" and end up at an article titled "Republican Federation" that does not even mention the phrase "Republican Union".

Also regarding this, the reason I reverted you was because I regularly see you adding unsourced ideology-based categories to articles that seem to be based purely on their names. If you are going to add categories related to ideologies, please make sure those ideologies are actually sourced in the article. Cheers, Number 57 18:17, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

@Number57: "Left Republicans/"Républicain de Gauche" was the parliamentary group of the Democratic Republican Alliance as referred to their english & french articles while the Republican Union is "Democratic and Republican Union" Braganza (talk) 18:25, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

Can you provide sources for the Left Republicans query. And re Republican Union, why did you link to the Republican Federation rather than Democratic and Republican Union? (and this also needs a source to confirm it is the same thing). Number 57 18:30, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

Ways to improve Next Cypriot legislative election

Hello, Braganza,

Thank you for creating Next Cypriot legislative election.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hi Braganza, nice work on your new article. It would benefit from inclusion in appropriate Wikiprojects. It currently relies on a single reference, and so requires additional referencing - e.g., what is the basis for the date of the election, and the voting system; where were the opinion polls published, etc. Good job!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Bastun}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Socialists and Democrats (Hungarian political party)

Hello Braganza! I just saw the hungarian political party, which is splited from the Hungarian Socialist Party. The 1st party is a Democratic Coalition (Ferenc Gyurcsány's party), the 2nd is the István Újhelyi's party, and the 3rd party is the Socialists and Democrats, which is founded by Attila Mesterházy, who also was a member of the Hungarian Socialist Party. These political parties is splited from the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), the first is the Democratic Coalition, the second is the Opportunity Community, and the third is the Socialists and Democrats. The MSZP is joined to the Left coalition, which one of the party was a member, this party is called the Jobbik - Conservatives. The Jobbik was a Far-Right political party, before the Jobbik is changed they ideology, and turned into the Centre-Right political party, and the Our Homeland Movement is splited from the Jobbik, and the Jobbik is now called Jobbik - Conservatives, Márton Gyöngyösi changed the Jobbik's name to Jobbik - Conservatives. Braganza, can you create a new page, which is will be called Socialists and Democrats ? And by the way, Happy New Year to you! KovZXad1970 (talk) 20:49, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

@KovZXad1970: does the party have any representation or will they run in the European election? if not i fear the article could be deleted cause others might see them as too unimportant Braganza (talk) 21:00, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
@Braganza Yes yes! The Socialists and Democrats is run for the 2024 European Parliament Election in Hungary, also the Opportunity Community is run too, the Second Reform Era Party is too, the Our Homeland Movement, the Jobbik - Conservatives, the MSZDP, the Everybody's Hungary People's Party, and the other hungarian political parties also run on the 2024 European Parliament Election too! It is really truth Braganza! These parties is running for the 2024 EU Parliament Election, but also Péter Jakab's political party On the People's Side party is running in the EU Parliament election too. But the Second Reform Era Party and the Everybody's Hungary People's Party is do not run for the 2024 local elections in Hungary, for some reasons. KovZXad1970 (talk) 21:06, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
is there a full list of parties yet? Braganza (talk) 21:20, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
@Braganza Yes! 2024 European Parliament Elections in Hungary page is still not avaliable in this Wikipedia, but the hungarian version is avaliable. But you don't speak hungarian ? I just asking about it. KovZXad1970 (talk) 21:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
i dont, but can use Google translate lol Braganza (talk) 21:24, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
@Braganza Right. I speak English and Hungarian language. The 2024 local elections in Hungary is will be on June 2024, with the 2024 European Parliament Elections in Hungary. The Fidesz is running with the KDNP, just like in 2009, and 2014, and 2019, and also 2024, just like the local elections since 2006, and since the 2006 Hungarian Parliamentary Election. The Our Homeland Movement is running on the EU elections and the local elections, and this party is not running for coalition for other parties in Hungary. Gergely Karácsony is running for the local election in 2024, in Budapest, he is supported by the MSZP, Párbeszéd, Momentum and the DK, the Jobbik is not supporting Karácsony, just like the Our Homeland Movement party, and the LMP. The Jobbik is got their own mayor, just like the Our Homeland Movement, and the Fidesz, and the LMP too. The EU Election is also set in Slovakia, Slovenia, and the other EU member countries. You know, the Péter Jakab's party the On the People's Side party is splited from the Jobbik, just like the ReforMers party, which is founded by Andrea Varga-Damm, and the Civic Response, which is also splited from the Jobbik. That's all i know. The first party which is splited from the Jobbik, is the Force and Determination, the second is the Our Homeland Movement, the third is the Civic Response, the fourth is the ReforMers, and the fifth is the On the People's Side party. Braganza, i know, the Our Homeland Movement is called Jobbik 2.0, because this party is an Radical Right-Wing political party, which is similar to the MIÉP (István Csurka's party), the MIÉP is called Hungarian Justice and Life Party, in hungarian meaning Magyar Igazság és Élet Pártja, and the Our Homeland Movement is Mi Hazánk Mozgalom. The Ferenc Gyurcsány's party is called Democratic Coalition (DK), which means Demokratikus Koalíció in hungarian. That's all i know. KovZXad1970 (talk) 21:39, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

National affiliation of Italia in Comune

Do you have any sources for this edit in Italia in Comune? I'm not aware of any link between Azione and IIC. SilverShadow2 (talk) 17:37, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

@SilverShadow2: [10] it was a claim by +E even Braganza (talk) 09:55, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
[11] On that same tweet, Pizzarotti himself denied the news. At the moment, both Pizzarotti and Falasca are still member of +E: if and when they'll leave to join Action, we'll update their pages. Moreover I think it's not correct to link IIC with what Pizzarotti and Falasca do: for example, Alessio Pascucci joined Greens and Left list at 2023 Lazio regional election. IIC is at the moment inactive, and what their former members do now is not something relevant for the party itself. SilverShadow2 (talk) 11:02, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
