Krishna in History, Thought, and Culture: An Encyclopedia of the Hindu Lord of Many Names: An Encyclopedia of the Hindu Lord of Many Names. ABC-CLIO. - @245CMR: All Jagadguru's dates are not accurate, We mention in Wikipedia most widely accepted dates. For example see Adi Shankara's or Madhva's article. - MRRaja001 (talk) 10:22, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
MRRaja001 Ok 👍 .💠245CMR💠.•👥📜 10:26, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- @245CMR: Madhvas don't have work of Nimabrka (Madhvamukhamardana). Please remove the note. It is also believed that there was another person with the name Madhva during Nimbarka's time. We don't have Manuscript of this Nimbarkas work. B. N. K. Sharma also mentioned about this in his research work "History of the Dvaita School of Vedānta and Its Literature: From the Earliest Beginnings to Our Own Times". In mentioned page 97 of this book that manuscript of "Madhvamukhamardhana" attributed to Nimbarka is present in Madan Mohan Library in Benares. In Satyanatha Tirtha article also i used this. Please go through the lede section of Satyanatha Tirtha. Thanks. - MRRaja001 (talk) 10:32, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

@MRRaja001: As of now, I have got little bit of Nimbarka's ideas. He opposed the veiws of Adi Shankar and Ramanuja, stating that Brahman and Atma are diff, but unity between them is the one. .💠245CMR💠.•👥📜 12:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Birth place
[edit]@245CMR: He is widely believed to have been born in Paithan in Maharashtra, which is a center for Vaishnavism. There are also many Nimbarka followers here. He is also believed to have born in Maharashtrian Brahmin family probalbly Deshastha Brahmin. I think you need to update this.

While some believe that he was a Telugu Brahmin others contradict it and say that he was from Paithan , an important centre of Maharashtrian Pandits. Nimavats put on white garments as other Vaishnava sadhus do.
- James G. Lochtefeld (15 December 2001). The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Hinduism, Volume 2. The Rosen Publishing Group. p. 473.
According to tradition, Nimbarka was a Telegu (southern Indian) brahmin who was born in the city of Paithan in central India, but lived much of his life in the northern Indian Braj region, where the god Krishna is supposed to have lived.

Image in the infobox
[edit]A new editor keeps changing the image in the infobox from File:Nimbarkacharya's holy icon at Ukhra Mahanta Asthal(West Bengal).JPG to File:Sri Nimbarkacharya.jpg

The existing image is a real photograph of an icon of Nimbarkacharyaat Ukhra Mahanta Asthal in West Bengal. The new image is a partially computer-generated image. If you look at the edges of the person, you can see that someone has selected the background in the original and deleted it. My guess is that it is really a breach of copyright - I saw something similar done to a photograph of a tennis player 20 years ago.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:24, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

Nimbarkacharya → Nimbarka – Per WP:HONORIFICS, Acharya is a honorific, his name is usually not spelled with a space in between the name, sources present in the article name it as Nimbarka or Nimbarkacharya, Britannica has its article title Nimbarka, [1]. There is no chance for confusion based on other people named Nimbarka. Compare Ramanuja, Vallabha, Drona. See also Google N-Gram viewer [2]. Chariotrider555 (talk) 00:07, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

- Needs a history merge if this article is moved. The redirect Nimbarka was originally an article that was started in 2004, whereas the article called Nimbarkacharya was created in 2021.-- Toddy1 (talk) 03:33, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
The use of a PhD thesis as a source
[edit]Ramnarace's Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa's Vedāntic Debut: Chronology & Rationalisation in the Nimbārka Sampradāya is a PhD thesis (see WP:SCHOLARSHIP). It is not that good as a source. Sources such as Britannica are more likely to express mainstream views than a PhD thesis. Wikipedia is meant to be a mainstream encyclopaedia. WP:UNDUE says Neutrality requires that mainspace articles and pages fairly represent all significant viewpoints that have been published by reliable sources, in proportion to the prominence of each viewpoint in those sources.
So it is not appropriate to write the article on the basis that Ramnarace's PhD thesis represents the absolute truth, and anything that contradicts it is merely a claim.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:10, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
