Maps
[edit]Can we organize the maps into CMP / Official instead of "Bomb Planting", etc? It'd look much nicer. Tokakeke 22:55, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Ah never mind I'll do it, if it doesn't look nice you guys can revert it. Tokakeke 22:58, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
wow nice work. Tanguezo
OK, i added the new CMP2 maps.... anyway, can someone plz check my grammar as im not that good in english spelling and grammar, and yeah someone plz add nore to "Saber System" about IDR and so on! --Yzmo 07:10, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Why did u delete the cool pic??--Yzmo 17:40, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
We need some cool start pic next to the content.. the one i put in got removed :( --Yzmo 14:58, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Cant we try to make this page a features wiki page... would be cool :)Yzmo 21:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, that'd be cool. First we need to cleanup the how-to stuff ("special 2 is flamethrower, etc") and work from there. Wooty 18:19, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Classes Cutdown
[edit]It looks alot better now, alothough, we should look at some other features articles about gaming, to see how and what they contain/how they are built upYzmo talk 06:51, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, i continues to clean the howto stuff, like i wrote "powerful pistol" instead of level 3 pistol. What about that line in the "soldier" text telling what the most common build is.. it sounds wierd. I will also try to upload some good screenies(but it may take some time untill ill get them). Anyway, continue like u guys did and it has a good chance to become a featured page(i think itll become the first featured page about a game mod)Yzmo 17:04, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
OK Wooty, use discussion page instead. Anyway, how would that work with having all maps in one paragraph?? i mean, thyre different maps??Yzmo 10:52, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback#Movie_Battles. A simple paragraph talking about how "Movie Battles has many distinct map and objective types Lunarbase makes you destroy the generator, while DOTF has the player hack a number of panels to get inside the throne room.". Right now we have a huge list, which is not very WPish. Also, when the site goes up, we need to add citations from the Features and possibly from the PC gamer article. Wooty 18:33, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Get it, but that map description would have to be quite long, i mean more than 5 sentences or so, but anyway, ill keep that in mind, and with the citing, i think ill put them in tomorrow, and maybe ill start with the maps, but maybe it would be better if u start it off so that i can see what u think.. and then ill continue. And thanks 4 putting it into the feedback list ;) Our next goal is to make it a "Good Article"Yzmo 20:08, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
To the guys who want this page deleted: This is not an How-to manual, i admit that it contains a few how-to sentences but we are trying to cut down the how-to stuff, and a few sentences how-to stuff is NOT a reason for deletion.. and ive read the WP:SOFTWARE nothing there says that its forbidden to have some how-to sentences or writing about a mod... it only says that u shoulnt write about software u have made myself. and this isnt the case here as at least 10 000 people play moviebattles, i wont remove the deletion template yet, i want you to remove it..Yzmo 19:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
W00t, the Article is really short now...Yzmo 18:03, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, and it's also not a huge list of cruft. Wooty 18:31, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, lets do the same thing with the Classes Section.. but maybe the article will get too short that way...Yzmo 13:55, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion
[edit]You also might want to read WP:V, and WP:RS which the article also has problems with. And I can't remove the AfD notice only admins can. Whispering(talk/c) 19:53, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I know that, citing on the todo list for the page, i also removed most how-to sections, now its really hard to find any howto sentence. But all that is just NO reason to delete the page, there are far worse pages which are NOT delete candidates..*adds citing template*
- Not a valid argument see WP:INN. Whispering(talk/c) 20:03, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
The problem is that there are not many sources to cite... i mean if u play the mod u learn about it, but u cant put "playing the mod" as cite, its not like writing about a national park or so where u can find books about it. I would just want to know WHY u want the article deleted.Yzmo 20:12, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Yzmo - if you don't know Wikipedia policy trying to debate with someone who does is pointless. Notability is fickle around WP. However, a howto-y article and lack of references (which weren't added because the site was down), are not valid reasons for deletion. Please read my comment on the AfD. Wooty 21:12, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
What is with the deletion now... i think the ones who want it deleted gave up...Yzmo 13:56, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
This modification does not have enough sources to even be considered a credible modification, much less an encyclopedia-worthy entity. This entire "article" is in the format of a game's manual, something which is accomplished on the home site and in the files given to you by the downloadable exe. The entire amount of information that can be gleaned from this article would be better demonstrated using an Excel spreadsheet, for download at the main site. Please remove this article at once. NotValkyrie 22:11, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
This page barely classifies as a Wiki page. This entire article involves them describing their glasses and what guns. Comparing this to other mod pages that hold information on history, plug ins and other additions to the game. This is basicicly a pathetic attempt to try and lure some gullible people into an already failing mod. They don't even make a proper Wiki article, they just copy and paste information from the game manual on their homepage. This information is not even worthy of a web page let alone a Wiki article. Please, anyone who actually cares about the standard Wiki allows delete this thread.

This is a last grasp of air for a dying mod. The proverbial horse has been completley beaten to such an extent that its face now resembles that of James Carville. The true mod died a year ago, and this is the last sad excuse to save its outdated gameply. This "siege edit" is the mod equivalent to the game ET. The mod has taken a nose dive much like Howard Dean, and should be treated like the bastard stepchild of the gaming community. This wiki should be removed harshly by lethal, and unhumain ways just like the American Indians.Notdill 22:31, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- This mod is still very active, just take a look at the forums and ull see:)Yzmo 18:09, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- I look at the forums and I see four posts a day that are not related to griping about bugs. Compare this to even unofficial forums for Counter-Strike or comparable modifications. NotValkyrie 00:36, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- There are definitaly more than 4 posts/day as a at least 20 users make more than 4 posts/day(look userprofiles)
- There are approximately 40 to 150 posts made every day on those forums, so the user who claims this is a dead horse is full of shit.

Things that need to be done
[edit]We need to get more references, wikify this a bit, clean up the listy parts of the article, and add some more references to how it fits in to the general Star Wars universe. --Wooty ( Woot? | contribs) 01:40, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, So we have to clean up the classes section... i already removed a lot of how-to stuff there(look history), but it still looks a bit unorganized... And as references, what do you suggest?
Maybe some history of the mod would improve this page.Yzmo 18:10, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Question : How do you cite sources from a computer game mod? Gab.popp 08:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- You don't. People shouldn't have to play the mod to verify the information. --Wooty Woot? contribs 11:11, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- No idea what that means (Begins reading "Reliable Sources" and "No Original Research"). Btw, Good job on the cleanup of the article. Gab.popp 21:03, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

History Section
[edit]What do u think about my history section, improve it where u can plz... Yzmo 16:57, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps..
[edit]we should summarize the classes in one or two paragraphs? This makes it easier to cite, less listy, etc. --Wooty Woot? contribs 04:08, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Considering no one probably cares about the mod, we could do that. It would also make it look better. Gab.popp 09:26, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- i have thought of the same thing.. it looks to listy now..Yzmo 19:13, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- If you dont have anything against it.. ill do it soon, wooty, u gotta help me ;)Yzmo talk 20:27, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Cleanup Tag
[edit]I looked through the article and there isnt really much mure to clean up, so.. any reasons to not remove the tag? Yzmo talk 11:54, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
B-Class!
[edit]I believe this article now fits the criteria for B-Class. Though not a long article, the subject doesn't demand a long article. The quality of the prose, images and referencing is better than many B-class articles. Congratulations! Una LagunaTalk 16:49, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yay.. This is AWESOME.. Big thanks for the help Laguna Yzmo talk 10:31, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
