Talk:List of cancelled Game Boy Advance games

Games that may not deserve to be in this list
[edit]Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory's citation only assumed a GBA release would exist. No official announcement was made in that citation, nor could I find one elsewhere in my brief search. Similarly, Barbarian's citation wasn't the correct article, and was a repeat of the first citation of the article. If someone can find valid citations, I'd appreciate it, as I couldn't find any in the admittedly brief time I looked. Otherwise, I feel these games should be removed from the list, since there's nothing I could find from publishers implying the games actually were planned for the GBA. - I know that this comment is almost 2 years old, but for record-keepings sake:
- I agree about Chaos Theory. I was unable to find a source that verified a GBA version, and removed it from the list.
- Barbarian, on the other hand, has an IGN source verifying it was announced for the GBA, so it's still on there. Sergecross73 msg me 18:19, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]- Radio Rayless - looks like an F-Zero clone. I couldn't find a reliable source to warrant keeping it on the list, but I found enough unreliable sources mentioning it that I do think its truly a cancelled GBA game. Can't got on the list without an RS, but leaving a note here incase anyone does find a source... Sergecross73 msg me 18:04, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
is HHPAY:Puffy Ami Yumi And The Manga Madman allowed to be on this article?
[edit]it IS a cancelled GBA game after all, and i think it deserves to be documented. 107.184.173.213 (talk) 05:16, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- See the inclusion criteria at the top of this talk page. Every entry needs at least one reliable source verifying the info for the game's entry. See WP:VG/S for a bunch of sources that would be usable or to be avoided. Sergecross73 msg me 14:10, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- look, to me, a cancelled game, OFFICIALLY announced or not, deserves to be documented here as LONG as a prototype is public. 107.184.173.213 (talk) 00:10, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, I love documenting cancelled video games. Myself and another couple of editors have written 99% of the cancelled video game lists on Wikipedia. But it's not about being "deserving" of anything; Wikipedia operates on WP:V. Everything needs a reliable source verifying it. If we can't find that, then it needs to be documented on another wiki. Sergecross73 msg me 00:31, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Found a source in the big list above and re-added it. Like Sergecross said, Wikipedia policy says we can only add entries if they have coverage in news outlets. (Which honestly isn't a huge inconvenience most of the time; there's usually something to be found if you're willing to put in the effort to look.) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 07:05, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for finding that. I almost suggested looking at Time Extension, as they seem to be the go-to reliable source for documenting "breaking news" cancelled game stuff. Sergecross73 msg me 17:14, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
