is there any record of how many people who viewed the previous page, also viewed this one? and if not, is such a record possible to obtain? Nickjbor 07:18, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, see http://stats.grok.se/en/201008/Wikipedia:Don%27t_stuff_beans_up_your_nose/Uh-huh. —Waterfox (talk) 19:20, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

That didn't break anything... I was hoping to end the universal knowledge once for all... Keep up the good work. I'll keep fixing typo errors in the articles, that's all I can do to contribute. Signed: ME. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.80.232.136 (talk) 14:05, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Picture
You erased the picture? Dude, sense of humour. If you are worried about bandwidth.. I can suggest a diddy of some ascii art... -07:11, 29 December 2007 (UTC)~~ —Preceding incompletely signed comment added by 99.247.120.178 (talk) 07:11, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think the picture was cool. It needs to go back on there. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 03:35, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- It was immature and in my opinion fairly tasteless. In case anyone hasn't noticed Wikipedia has a bit of an image problem. Somehow I don't think a picture that marks the deaths of thousands of people isn't exactly appropriate for screwing around. Besides, the picture actually distracts from the message you are trying to send. It goes from "oh we told you not to do something so you did. See how that works?" to either sending the message that the results of ignoring WP:BEANS will be amusing to them, or you just lost any credibility you had with them.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps it would be better to use Image:Castle Romeo.jpg or Image:Castle romeo2.jpg, both images of a test that did not harm humans? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:50, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
If you really want to use a picture to illustrate your point, perhaps something that is just mildly unpleasant.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 06:01, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I really don't see the unpleasantness in the picture. I can fully understand that the event was very unpleasant, but there's no real unpleasant things here I can see, except for seeing the cause of the event. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 12:55, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- yeah, real class. using the death photo of 100s of thousands of people as a foil for humour.
- maybe we could replace it with some close ups of the victims, and add "this is what you will look like if you click the link"? or better yet, go straight for the auschwitz pix. yeah, i'm chuckling already. 209.172.25.226 (talk) 06:12, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
I remind that we should keep in mind bandwidth and consider ascii art... 99.247.120.178 (talk) 21:57, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Do you have ASCII art of an explosion or some other cataclysm that could "crash Wikipedia"? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 21:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think the picture was a nice touch and should be readded, as far as going with ASCII art soley because of preformance, that should not be a factor. I know there is an guideline or essay somewhere around here that deals with that. As far as it being a picture of the Nagasaki bomb, I don't really think anyone would take offense to that. Nuclear explosions are very much rooted in popular culture after the cold war. --Nn123645 (talk) 06:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- You make a very good point. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 09:12, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I found the policy dealing with preformance. --Nn123645 (talk) 06:31, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

OK, I clicked. I'm sorry; it was just TOO tempting. Besides, I knew it wouldn't REALLY crash Wikipedia, but what would it really do? :O --M1ss1ontomars2k4 (talk) 22:30, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's okay, I clicked too. I figured, A. The page was totally harmless and somewhat funny- which it was- or B. It actually WOULD crash wiki, which would then deserve it for puttinthe link there in the first place. 65.223.58.226 (talk) 02:04, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Link destination visibility
The link from the main to here shows this page's title. Linking to a bogus page like Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/reallyoldarchives/Ban disruptive user or Wikipedia:Dumps of database (parody of Wikipedia:Database dumps) with a redirect to here might be better. --Clark89 (talk) 00:51, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Psudeo Error Code
I was wondering if we want to go with the psudo PHP error messages or the mediawiki cryptic XML type error. Personally I think the former looks better and slightly scarier, though I can see from the page history it has been going back and forth. —Nn123645 (talk) 04:10, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I propose we replace that nuclear explosion with this animated one one:
Someone will have to enlarge it sufficiently and clean it up so the larger size dosen't affect quality though.

First of all, check the date on those posts. Of course they already put it in! It's been seven years since they've had this conversation! Also, you're not anonymous, you're psuedonymous (unless you change IP addresses every time you do something on Wikipedia). Also, sign your posts. It's not that hard. 120.149.119.6 (talk) 09:43, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
Bad Suggestion
If it didn't violate the general philosophy of Wikipedia I'd suggest that clicking the link also blocks them from reading articles and/or redirects them to a 404 page, just for a minute or two. Maybe they'll have a panicked few seconds that they really did do it. Ikiwi (talk) 01:53, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

It said "Click here to make Wikipedia better again" and when I saw it on the editing screen it said to delete the Main Page! That's impossible! LOL!!! DatNuttyWikipedian (talk) 19:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
