Your edits and your signature

[edit]

Hello, I've undone your edits to Wikipedia talk:About the Sandbox because spelling errors should not be corrected on talk pages. Re: your questions at Wikipedia talk:Sandbox], I'll answer them in order:

  1. To fix your signature (and add a link to your talk page to it), go to your preferences, uncheck the box that says "Treat the above as wiki markup ...", and save your changes. I know of several users who have had this problem for no apparent reason.
  2. To see your contributions, use the "Contributions" link which is near the link to your user page.

A good place to ask questions like this is the teahouse. Happy editing! Graham87 03:38, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:39, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lezelmaz, I'm here onbehalf of WP:ORPHAN in which you are also a participant. So, we want your opinion to a WP:ORPHAN related matter. It is a proposal by Technical 13. Please have a look here. Backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Lezelmaz,

WikiProject Orphanage is holding a month long Backlog Elimination Drive to de-orphan articles which have orphan tags!
The goal is to eliminate the backlog of orphan articles. There are currently 52903 articles which have orphan tags. The drive is running from April 12, 2014 to May 12, 2014.

Awards will be given out for all editors participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive. To add your name in the participants list click here.
So start de-orphaning articles! Click here to see the list of articles need de-orphaning.
Visit Suggestions for how to de-orphan an article to know more!

Thanks. Opt-out Instructions by Jim Cartar on behalf of WikiProject Orphanage through MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:21, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

deOrphaning script

[edit]

Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Opted-out of message delivery to your user talk page.

Khresili infobox list

[edit]

Thanks for the ping. You have the right goal at your sandbox subpage; I was lazy, so didn't complete it at the article. For how it should be done, see for example, this edit. Thanks for noticing this, and happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 18:59, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Mathglot, wow. I'm thrilled and thankful for the positive feedback. Templates are crazy (for me) to penetrate, so I started by wanting to understand your thinking behind using the mighty {{ br }} over a simple <br /> fix. I appreciated an example—we're of like minds. Breaking down the infobox guided me to a better understanding of the anatomy of a Template. So all hail, {{ br }}!    I'll go ahead and post the revision. I'm not new, but I think of myself as a (very, very) "shy editor." Getting your blessing for the change would boost my confidence. I also fixed other odd elements in the infobox, like whitespace within large numbers where a comma should be. Cheers! mazal (talk) 05:34, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are more than welcome, Mazal. I used to use <br />, which I still think is perfectly fine and has some support in guidance pages (although I'd have to go look to make sure), but I get the feeling that some people are annoyed with <br /> for some reason, considering it pedantic, perhaps, or I'm not sure why. In any case, {{br}} solves that. But in reality, in that diff link I posted for you, I got rid of the {{br}} entirely, and used instead, which I think is a better approach there, and also would work at the Khresili article, if you wish to try it. Feel free to contact me anytime, whether about templates or anything else, either pinging me from somewhere, or just open a discussion on my Talk page.
Great—I will! mazal (talk)
