User: YellowPegasus
Can someone look at YellowPegasus (talk · contribs) recent renames of image cleanup templates? Should they use the opaque Wikijargon term "Wikigraphist" (wikigraphists work at WP:Graphics lab and WP:Wikigraphist doesn't exist). Since YellowPegasus is an account that is only 1 month old, I'd think these are not widely accepted renames? -- 70.24.247.127 (talk) 07:01, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Is there a "Text missing" template?
When stub-sorting I sometimes find articles which have an infobox but no text. (Here's an example, unless it's been deleted as unsourced autobiography by now, and another one.) If I'm in the mood I'll create a lead sentence "X is a ..." from the information in that infobox. When I'm not, I'd like to add a template which goes beyond {{lead missing}} to say "This article lacks any text". Is there such a template out there? PamD 18:39, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Self-referral?
Another user is keen to have assistance with an article (Pierina Gilli) which they have created and for which thay are pretty much a WP:SPA. I've suggested posting on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Catholicism for help although a post I made myself on the user's behalf indicated that a backlog of such articles meant it was unlikely to get much attention from the project soon. Many of the issues are of a general cleanup nature, rather than requiring knowledge of the subject. Would it be appropriate to suggest they refer the article here for clean-up or is there maybe a mechanism like peer review but for articles of a lower standard than would be appropriate for peer review? Doddy Wuid (talk) 14:32, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I can't post it on cleanup page, so I will post it here. The article Copper Peak has several issues:
- In the introduction you can find the following statement: It is expected to be reopened for competition in the next 2 or 3 years. The statement has to become removed because nobody still knows when it will be reopened. If you check history you will find out that this statement was inserted 2,5 years ago. So it must have been reopened now but it still has not happened and probably won't happen in near future. (By the way writing something like in the next 2 or 3 years without referring to a concrete date is always a problem because it won't be true anymore after some time if it won't get updated permanently. So a reader will have to check when this statement was inserted to find out at which date it is really going to happen.)
- The section 'Renovation' is completely unsourced. In addition it needs an update because it was inserted in June 2012 and has not become updated yet. The word 'they' is used several times but it is not mentioned who 'they' are. --217.227.118.205 (talk) 01:07, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Hip House has to get general cleanup
cause every commercial running dance hit with some "raps" is sorted there and only few real Hip House songs are in the List: "Rok Da House" - The Beatmasters "Turn up the Bass" - Tyree (Feat. Kool Rock Steady) "Who's in the House?" - The Beatmasters "Yo, Yo, Get Funky" - Fast Eddie "Hey, DJ (I can't dance to that)" The Beatmasters "Git On Up" - Fast Eddie (Feat. Sundance) " Wickedest Sound" - Rebel MC Most songs in the list are Electro Hop (e.g. LMFAO),some Grime (Dizee Rascal), some Eurodance(Snap),and even Atari Teenage Riot's songs Too Dead for me and Deutschland has gotta die are more Hip House than LMFAO. --188.100.27.81 (talk) 11:02, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Kashi
Dear Wikipedia Founder
1. Kashi is salaried employee, not Businessman. This is error. Mention Director of Multinational refer linked in.
2. Daily Mail link must be avoided as Kashi objected the error news in "Kashi Samaddar fans club", instead use "The Guardian, UK".
3. Daily Mail corrected the part error News on Graham Hughes but still errors like "all 201 Countries" is appearing confusing the World. Last Country is South Sudan and 195th, so how these would be 201? Both Graham and Daily mail made mistakes or may be intentional and have proper verification like Guinness.
Do not link up anything of Graham Hughes or other Travelers as Guinness World Records did not certify them and have no evidence.
4. Put photo of Kashi on 09th July 2011- last World record at Juba Airport, South Sudan, the last country world has seen, taking from site of India book of records first person visited all 195 countries.
5. Kindly mention that the World has 195 countries + Taiwan and Kashi remains First until a new Country is born, (as many are confusing the World with 201/ 196 countries by Daily Mail) to get mileage. Is Wikipedia is not responsible to society?
6. Kindly do not be partial to British, follow Truth and do not put junk.
Hoping to see proper correction soon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.125.28.94 (talk) 01:00, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
As many editors here are interested in the cleanup of needy articles, I thought I'd propose the articles revolving around the Chach Nama. This is a 7th-century Persian chronicle of events occurring in Sindh earlier in the century, including a myriad of internecine conflicts, invasions, and palace intrigue. I have made a preliminary list of a few needy articles at User:DCI2026/Chach Nama table. You really don't need any experience to edit effectively in these areas, and help is appreciated. dci | TALK 18:49, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
Another page needing cleanup
Hi. Like another poster I'm not logged in, so I don't have a way of adding. The article is Switch (corporal punishment), and first off, it focuses entirely on the fetish element of it, and second, the language is so so weird, like it's been translated from another language or something. 108.180.252.74 (talk) 04:08, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- I reviewed the page and it is entirely appropriate now, the weird language and fetish element having been taken out."Selene Scott (talk) 00:53, 30 September 2014 (UTC)"
Cleanup
I notice that this article starts off on the wrong foot by referring to strikethrough as strike-out. One should be careful to use precise terminology, particularly in the computing context . . .
I, personally, would be overjoyed to clean up pages, but not for free. My free efforts to correct things typically meet with disapproval: either some moron "corrects" the material by deleting my valuable additions and adding foolish, largely incorrect tripe; or some person in authority accuses me of VANDALISM. No, it definitely does not behoove one to contribute to Wikipedia.
You know, it's funny, but I learned a long, long time ago—before my first foray into consulting—that people respect what they pay for. You could be an unskilled bum, but get people to pay you handsomely and watch the respect bubble up and spew forth. On the flipside, work that is done for free is always received left-handedly. - I don't know of any contributor who gets paid on here to do work. Maybe I'm wrong but I noticed nobody made any offers. And I find it odd that for all your 'skills' you used a bot to sign you as anonymous. "Selene Scott (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2014 (UTC)"
"Check Please..."
hello, I wanted to help do clean ups, I looked around for a link that said sign up or something but couldn't find one. I cleaned up the wording, sentence structure, and punctuation on the Loretta Lynn page. Could someone check it out. I don't know if its in good enough shape to come off the list, as I didn't do any work as far as finding references for the info. Thanks, "Selene Scott (talk) 00:44, 30 September 2014 (UTC)"
- If you think the article Loretta Lynn is fine, be bold and then stike it off leaving a comment. There is no hard and fast criteria for how to address pages here. Sincerely, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 07:20, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Selene! Under the "Members" tab is where you can put your username to "join". Not really a hard and fast thing though. As for the Loretta Lynn article, Ugog is right. If you feel it's fine, leave a comment and strike it through on the main list. Especially if you've done work on it! Kobuu (talk) 11:55, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
Categorization for Dancing
Plz readdress me if I got the wrong page for the request: cleanup needed for the two categories
Terminologically they might be differentiated, but in practice their content is very similar, I guess it was not only me who got confused making the choice. Should they be merged? The one with no interwiki should probably go into the one which has more of links therein? Are there any other considerations? --Shanghainese.ua (talk) 19:33, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

Jan Norberger - Can someone please review this for me so that the Clean-up / Neutral POV tag might be removed. I have received some feedback from other users and removed citations that linked to Mr Norberger's LinkedIn page, replacing them with verifiable neutral citations. I have also added additional verifiable citations for paragraphs that didn't have any prior to the tag appearing. Any assistance would be appreciated. Bug with CleanupListing report?
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but perhaps someone can figure out this bug: why is Line Löwenstein listed at https://toolserver.org/~svick/CleanupListing/CleanupListingByCat.php?project=Poland#Articles%20with%20topics%20of%20unclear%20notability ? This article was tagged with {{notability}} few years back, yes, but it was turned into redirect two years back, and nobody has restored the template since. Yet it is still in the cleanup listing. Seems like a bug? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 22:09, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Bare urls
(Cross-posted from Category talk:Pages needing cleanup Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to write, because no-one has posted here since 2011, but.. how do we choose which tags get articles listed in cleanup, and who chooses them? "Neutral"/"verify" do not, for instance, but "bare urls" does. I ask because I would be in favour of getting the "bare urls" tag to send articles to a different place. I am looking for articles to do a more thorough cleanup (for example, what used to be called wikify) as these are the articles that make the encyclopaedia look worse. I understand that bare urls are a problem which need to be fixed but I don't see them as cleanup jobs in the same category. And yet so many of the articles listed here are simply bare url problems, more so as time goes on, it seems. It makes it harder to find articles needing more serious cleanup, and skews the stats about the cleanup backlog. Is there any way this can be changed? If people agree, of course.. Jdcooper (talk) 21:19, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Assuming you're referring to {{Cleanup bare URLs}} adding articles to Category:Wikipedia cleanup? I see a lot of subcats in Category:Wikipedia article cleanup containing the stuff that you want. Ugog Nizdast (talk) 02:31, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
