One category to rule them all?
Is there one category that takes in ALL pages with ANY problems: POV, dispute, needs citations, cleanup etc. ? Ling.Nut (talk—WP:3IAR) 07:08, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- The best place for that is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_backlog. GeorgeLouis (talk) 05:57, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Impossible to clean
So what's the procedure when I pull up an article and discover that it is just impossible to clean up? With Self (philosophy), I was able to add a plea for help to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Philosophy/To_do/to_do, as you will see if you go there, but what do I do with Sensor, which is just awful but which doesn't seem to have a project to refer it to for expert assistance? Yours in frustration, GeorgeLouis (talk) 05:47, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- I would say that almost all articles are possible to cleanup, it's just a matter of knowing Wikipedia's policies, where most issues can be answered. In terms of finding direction on how to proceed with a clean up of an article, WP:MOS is a good place to start. If you find something wrong with an article be bold and fix it, or discuss the issue on its talk page, or perhaps add a different cleanup tag in order to clarify the cleanup needed. Hope that helps. - To be honest, the article doesn't look all that horrible to me. I mean, it's in pretty poor shape, but it shouldn't be too hard to get it to a decent level. I'm in the middle of a huge edit of another article right now, but I'll look at this one next (probably early next week) if no one else gets to it first. -- edi(talk) 16:55, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
On second thought, you are probably right, but it was challenging to me, and normally I can handle most subjects with aplomb. Sincerely, your friend (after a good night's sleep), GeorgeLouis (talk) 20:40, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Page length
As this page is currently 111 kb long, can a cleanup of redundant articles/transfer to legacy section be arranged?
(Removed a section that was irrelevant to this talk page). Jackiespeel (talk) 17:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Heh. About a year ago, this page was about 160 kb in size. Definately needs to be whittled. I've been trying, as have others. I think some of the really old articles need to be forwarded to their respective project pages. A lot of them are highly technical or have specialized knowledge needs that are beyond the scope of general cleanup. --Lendorien (talk) 13:45, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps a "random page needing attention" link should be added to the navigation section (using the tags): or WP actively seeks experts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.104.132.41 (talk) 13:14, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
to do
Could you please add to the decorating/obscuring templates field or rule that if somebody put them on will explain why and what she want to do. This is time consuming and ambivalent to find out what may someone prompted to decorating section or art. Perhaps somebody can run/design a boot to gently prompt 'decorators' to either add description or remove it. 76.16.176.166 (talk) 13:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Dear User:C45207
The section http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramdasia uses various words belonging to Ramdasia (weaver community) in India.
Please let me know if cleanup is related to grammatical mistakes or spelling mistakes.

While the amount of subpar articles with some kind of lingering tag grows I'm beginning to get discouraged. This is starting to feel like an insurmountable task. As soon as it stops being fun, it becomes a chore. Maybe things will get better in the future. -- Ϫ 01:59, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Clean up list
What is required is something similar to the old lists, for 'entry + comment' as before. Some will be promptly dealt with and those remaining can be given the correct tags and placements etc. Having to run around looking for the appropriate list, finding the appropriate sub-list, find the appropriate tags etc etc will lead to 'why bother-ism.' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.198.250.70 (talk) 17:14, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup tags?
Sometimes the Random article menu choice turns up a fascinating article, but one that cries out for cleanup, too. Ettie Annie Rout is such an article. There are far too many red links, and there are other problems, too. Should I tag it with Copyedit, or Wikify? Maybe something else? I added the medical template to the talk page, but I leave the tagging and cleanup to someone else. --DThomsen8 (talk) 00:54, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- Looks like it was recently cleaned up. Oh and I agree that the Random article feature sometimes turns up great articles, and is a fine way to find pages that need cleanup. -- Ϫ 02:20, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Christian Kracht
Does Christian Kracht still need cleanup? Lfh (talk) 17:09, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- I removed the tag, looks like you made a significant enough improvement since the tag was placed. In the future, if you feel that you've fixed an issue raised by a maintenance tag you should feel free to go ahead and remove the tag yourself. -- Ϫ 01:22, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
The page Wikipedia:Jagged 85 cleanup addresses the 63,000 articles edited by Jagged 85 that are in need of verification of the sources cited in them, because of a documented pattern of misinterpreting references. Editors with the resources to check out these sources are encouraged to participate in this project.
Because of the number of articles, they are not listed at Wikipedia:Cleanup but are itemized on the fourteen sub pages of Wikipedia:Jagged 85 cleanup#Cleanup lists. Specific procedures for clearing listed pages are described at Wikipedia:Jagged 85 cleanup#Cleanup procedure. --SteveMcCluskey (talk) 17:30, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Barings Bank cleanup?
I came here to see what's needed to clean up this article, but found no listing for June, 2010. Is there another place where I might find comments? WCCasey (talk) 19:26, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
