this page was 15 minutes old and still under construction when it was deleted; please wait till the page has been constructed before making such decisions.
this page was deleted supposedly due to the person its about not being notable...
notability is not temporary; so worldwide headlines from 2008-2010 would count right???
how can a person decide that page about a person is not notable enough before its been written?? -the son of bon scott 01:40, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- I was the admin who deleted it. What claimed notability is there? I will restore it if there is any possible reason to do so. Merely being Bon Scott's son, or or there being a controversy about whether or not he is his son, is not a claim to notability, especially considering the requirements of WP:BLP. Bird Group
Old "Bird Group" page from cached Google seemed informative and very relevant. Reasons for deleting the article are not sufficient. -70.80.14.47 (talk) 05:13, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not done It was speedily deleted twice: first as a copyright infringement, and second as it was highly promotional. The third and most recent action was due to a community discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bird Group, which resulted in a community decision to delete. As this was discussed at WP:AFD, you will need to take this to deletion review for further action, as per the instructions at the top of this page. That said, make sure the copyright/promotional/notability aspects are clearly dealt with before attempting to do so. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:23, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

yoga of silence
The article „yoga of silence“ was deleted at the 11.december because of notability-reasons. The deletion debate had very little participation (only two persons). I consider the article as important because of the following points: Yoga of silence is very known in Europe, especially in Germany, Switzerland, France and Russia. It has been established in Germany in 1997 and grown up expeditiously (and still grows). Every weekend there are events in different cities where up to 300 people are taking part in each time. In one year there are also around 20 Retreats (duration 1-2 weeks) all over the world (India, Spain, Italy, Germany, ….). Nevertheless it is presented and discussed at congresses with neurologists, mind researches and in philosophical yoga circles (see link “Weimarer Visionen”). Because this western branch of Jnana Yoga called Yoga of silence is a relatively young phenomenon there is no academic literature about it yet. -Loverofsilence (talk) 13:58, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not done Yes it's unfortunate that this AFD had so little participation but you have to discuss this issue with the admin who closed the AFD. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 16:31, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- You might persuade the closing admin if you presented substantial coverage in reliable sources, that being our usual way of judging article inclusion (i.e. notability. Arguing how important something is won't persuade them. Fences&Windows 02:03, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Article was proposed to deletion on January 1st, when most of its contributors were on holiday, and was deleted the week after. I will support it with independent references, once it is undeleted. Can another admin please check the text for plagiarism? Despite the claim in the speedy deletion, I can't find any copied wording (and the 'source' it was supposedly plagiarised from is itself a copyvio...). Fences&Windows 01:09, 12 January 2011 (UTC)- OK, it is verbatim lifted from NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology Myelodysplastic Syndromes V.1.2007, confirmed. Request to the article about the "Tiny Raskal Gang". Why: Because the gang is the biggest Asian gang in the USA.[citation needed] And if there are only 2 of the 3 biggest Asian gangs in Wikipedia, theres something wrong. Even the smallest of those 3 (Asian BoyZ) is the 12 biggest in the USA. Thank you for responses. --Mervynbunique (talk) 19:30, 10 January 2011 (UTC) -Mervynbunique (talk) 19:33, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

- I have references. My question to you. You dont have arguments for keeping that deleted. Please keep in conversation. And big is important. It's the same with the "list of the highest buildings in the world"-article. If there are only 11 of 12 buildings there... you know. --Mervynbunique (talk) 22:45, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- The issue is not that I want to keep it deleted but what if anything to restore. If you disagree with the deletion itself, you should contact User:User:Nihonjoe and maybe later WP:Deletion review. Actually you need to go to DRV anyways with a good draft because this is only a misspelling of Tiny Rascal Gang which was deleted and salted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tiny Rascal Gang (3rd nomination), so there is even less we can do here that I originally thought.--Tikiwont (talk) 06:45, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

- Note for reviewing admins, the most recent version prior to deletion does not contain the bulk of the article. It was heavily stubbed due to what appears to be a copyright concern prior to deletion. Protonk (talk) 23:22, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- That is correct, but the stub was created by the creator after even blanking, and it still contained the 'big' claim Mervyn was referring to, whilst I considered the rest as revoked by the author. Actually that even contained on ref, which was removed soon and still would not back up much of the article. [1]. If there are other sources, recreation from scratch would IMO be the better option.--Tikiwont (talk) 06:16, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Danielle Ouimet
reasoning -216.58.75.68 (talk) 03:12, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
The cited reason for deleting that page was A7 (Doesn't indicate importance or significance of a real person) I believe that is mistaken. Danielle Ouimet was in 10 movies or series, and as an actress, spearheaded the Quebec movie revolution of the 70s.
I am interested to see the extent of the knowledge of the Quebec culture by the people who were involved in the decision to delete the page. I suspect it is akin to a person from Quebec deleting the "Shakespeare" page because it is inconsequential to the Quebec culture. Unless, of course, Wikipedia was a US-Only culture.
Please undelete the page. If Wikipedia has hard disk storage issues, I will be happy to contribute financially.
- This can't be restored here because it was deleted as an A7. However, the version that was deleted was very short and didn't say any of what you just said above. I suspect that if you recreate the article and make sure it says what you just said above and provide reliable sources for your claims, it won't be speedy deleted again. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 03:41, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

David A. Harris
David A. Harris · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
I am respectfully requesting that the page for David A. Harris be restored immediately. It was unexpectedly deleted for no apparent reason. Mr. Harris is the Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) a very prominent Global Jewish Advocacy organization. Nothing that appeared on Mr. Harris' page was factually incorrect or inappropriate. I was very alarmed to see this page go missing and hope it can be remedied right away. -184.75.6.82 (talk) 23:04, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- The article was originally deleted nearing on a half decade ago in a deletion discussion Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David A. Harris due to copyright concerns. The newest revision was speedily deleted as a promotional piece. I'll take a look at the content in a bit to see how valid that decision might have been. Protonk (talk) 01:00, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- The original was deleted in February 2006. A tiny stub was created in May 2006 and has been added to steadily ever since. It grew into a puff piece, and has repeatedly been edited by people seeking solid sources, trying to diminish the puffery, etc. The deleted version was still fluffy, but not really a good candidate for speedy deletion. I would suggest restoring and stubbing, or else taking it to AfD if the Harris-worshippers won't leave it alone. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:21, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Agile-Team (software)
reasoning -Bet Bass (talk) 14:51, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
The "Agile-Team (software)" article has been deleted as overly promotional.
However, Agile-Team software is just one of a big serious of project management tools described in the Comparison of project management software. The article was created after I found out that this tool was missed in this comparison table.
I tried to follow Wikipedia rules and recommendations while writing the article. I created the article in my user space with the Article wizard and tried to write it from a neutral point of view. There was no intention to make it promotional. Note that the article included description of features that are compared in the Comparison of project management software table. The deleted article also included a link to competitors.
A number of people looks for comparison of project management tools, and it is nice that Wikipedia gives them such possibility. However, it is important that they receive full information without exclusion of such tools as Agile-Team.
I will be very grateful for any feedback and help in restoring the article and making it useful and answering all Wikipedia requirements.
With best regards
Bet Bass (talk) 14:51, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- Article was no longer in user space and I agree it was overly promotional. If the article is undeleted you have to work more on it. I do not know this software but being neutral is not enough - it should also be notable. I noticed that there is no article about Agile-Team Aps so I'm not sure a rewrite would help. --MGA73 (talk) 16:15, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

- Not done - As also announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Muppet (slang), it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Courcelles (talk · contribs). Wikipedia:Esperanza/Coffee lounge
I'm a researcher currently with the GroupLens project at the University of Minnesota. We're looking at the impact of various programs in Wikipedia designed to help new users. In particular, we'd like to do some analysis to determine whether the now-dead Esperanza coffee lounge actually had a positive or negative effect on other forms of Wikipedia editing. I'd love to be able to see and analyze the historical text and history for this page; restoring it to my user space for a period of time would be sufficient. Our specific goal is to study whether and how social interactions affect Wikipedia editing. Thank you! -SeparateWays (talk) 19:18, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's more that 5000 versions in the history, so I'd need to double-check whether I can restore them all at once, and would rather do so in place itself under the redirect. Alternatively and probably even better, as your objective is not directly related to improving the content, you could contact the Wikipedia foundation out of office as your activities are certainly of interest to them as well.--Tikiwont (talk) 18:33, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Gotcha, that's a lot to restore, and I'm sympathetic. Would it be more straightforward to get me just three versions of the page and its associated talk page, at random points from within its history? (something like, revision numbers 1500, 3000, and 4500)? A few scattered revisions would help me better understand what I'm studying. Email for those would be fine if that's easier. (I have been able to dig up other approaches using Wikimedia tools to get edit counts, dates, etc, but I can't easily access the text itself.) SeparateWays (talk) 19:28, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's just that some time after that MfD deletion we introduced a restriction for deleting pages with more that 5000 revisions. Which means that i should be able fully restore it, at least proceeding in chunks, but would need help to get it re-deleted. Still, a temporary history undelete is presumably of most use to you. Just let me know when you don't need it any more. Moreover, whilst the MFD is clear enough, we might then even check, whether simply leaving the history under a protected redirect still causes major concerns four years after Esperanza. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:19, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

The exact reason for deletion is unknown. It appeared that ONE person had a problem with the page as it existed, although it was factually similar to pages on other publishing companies and was modeled after such pages. The Quick Deletion process did not allow for sufficient time to properly defend the page at the time.

Faith2Share
Speedy deletion was used because this was suspected of being a promotional page. It was not. It was an academic attempt to explain a phenomenon which already has several references in other articles within Wikipedia. As Wiki is currently weak in the area of religion and specifically Chrisatian mission, as an academic in this field, I am trying to update some of this - see my edits in several other articles. I am a member of the International Association of Mission Studies and committed to extending the understanding of mission into Wiki and other electronic media. Faith2Share struck me as a particularly interesting new phenomenon in mission. Incidentially as a 'closed network' (and not a company or anything similar) I don't think Faith2Share would be interested in 'promotion' even if my article sought to do that - which it does not. Thanks for your consideration. Once this is sorted I will make other contributions. -Markoxbrow (talk) 22:40, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- Did your article meet the notability requirements?
Notability in a nutshell: If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article. - In other words, if something was important enough, then other people would talk about it and there would be mentions of it in magazines, newspapers, books, good websites (not blogs), etc. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and we try to cite good sources to back up the things we say here. Let me know on my talk page if I can be of any further help. :) Banaticus (talk) 22:48, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Hans Hermann Junge
I think it invalid to state the reason this page is being deleted is because the individual's only historical significance is that he was the husband of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge when in fact he was Hitlers personal valet prior to Mrs Junge ever meeting Hitler or becoming his secretary and they were married on Hitler's suggestion. He is far more historically significant than was suggested by the person initiating the deletion

Ray Woodcock
I could research this, Wikipedia, but this is the point. Your processes have grown too cumbersome. Your editor deleted an article. I have objected to that deletion. It is a simple matter. Many would-be contributors are not going to bother (or may not be able) to explore your legalistic system in order to voice a simple objection.
The name of the page is "Ray Woodcock." It is a disambiguation page, like the disambiguation pages that exist for other names. If the situation were not evident from looking at the page itself, the notes appended to it explain the objection. -Raywood 11:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not done. Disambiguation pages are to provide a guide to Wikipedia articles with similar names, about subjects notable enough to have articles. Yours was simply a discussion of the names "Ray" and "Woodcock" plus a linkfarm of four Google searches giving external links to people who happen to be called "Ray Woodcock." Nomads Golf Club
The intention of the Article was to demonstrate the ongoing Charitable contributions of Nomads Golf Club as well as acting as a placeholder for authority and relevence with respect to the Clubs history of Philanthropy and the history of the club itself. There is no intention to 'unambiguously advertise' the club, however, as Wikipedia is regarded as authoritative and relevent no-one can deny the positive attention the article brings to the organisation. -Highlanderdownunder (talk) 09:10, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not done. An article about this club may be possible, but it will not be this one which:
- contains flagrant copyright violations - the first two sentences I checked led me to large chunks copied from http://www.scnomads.co.za/history.htm and http://www.napcp.org.za/wc_1.htm. Wikipedia cannot accept text copied from elsewhere unless a formal release has been made by the copyright holder, see Wikipedia:Copy-paste and Wikipedia:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations, and in any case material written for other purposes often has a promotional or informal tone unsuitable for an encyclopedia article
- does not adequately establish notability. Of the first six references, five are deadlinks and one is merely a listing, and the deadlinks do not look as though they were independent. Notability has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
- is too long and rambling. An article about a golf club does not need to provide a detailed description of every charity it supports - and my comment is made after another editor removed 15 kilobytes of copy-pasted material on 28 December.
- I will provide more advice on your talk page within a day or two. JohnCD (talk) 14:52, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
I have the permission from Nomads South Africa to reproduce the text on the Wikipedia article, however I accept the verbosity of the text is such that it needs to be refined and cut down to a suitable encylopedic entry. It should be noted that neither of the links you have referenced are under copyright notice therefore without permission I can reproduce, however in this instance as mentioned before I have the full support of all clubs in Nomads SA to reproduce any text from their websites. I am not sure in what form a written statement of consent is required as proof, please advise on that point. Before I found out the article had been deleted it was my intention to update the broken links to properly qualify for notability and edit/update the article to a suitable/acceptable level under Wikipedia policies. I am not sure what the 15KB of copy pasted material is but you must understand that I am technically inferior in the knowledge required to easily navigate through the many hoops required for posting to Wikipedia. Can the article please be reinstated so I can make the relevent edits required for compliance?
- "...therefore without permission I can reproduce" - sorry, but that is absolutely wrong, see Wikipedia:Copy-paste: "Copyright does not need to be asserted – if the source says nothing about licensing or copyright, you must treat it as copyrighted." Copyright is an extremely serious matter for Wikipedia: I am surprised all this was not caught by the "bot" (automatic system) which screens incoming material for copyright problems. Our license permits readers to copy, modify, and re-use for any purpose including commercial, and under every edit screen is a warning of what you are agreeing to. Just asserting permission to reproduce is not enough. It is essential that the copyright holder understands and agrees to the license terms. If you own the copyright, the necessary procedure is explained at WP:Donating copyrighted materials, if someone else does, at WP:Requesting copyright permission.
- So I cannot restore the deleted article, even into your user space for modification, but I can email the text to you if you enable the "Email this user" option on your account. To do that, click "My preferences" at the top of the screen, and on the "User profile" tab, at the bottom, enter your email address and check the box marked "Enable e-mail from other users."
- I am doubtful whether it will be worth your while to organise a copyright release for much of this material. The article contained about 6,000 words of extremely detailed history: "From 1960 to 1964 Mike Florance ran the club with the help of a couple of members and sponsor's female staff. (notably Helen Inggs of United Tobacco and, later on, Jean Bechet of BP in Natal) In 1965 Ludie Ludeman was elected Captain of the Transvaal club with Mike in the engine room as Match Secretary. With the advent of the first National Tournament in 1966, a National Executive Committee was established with Anthony Handley as first Chairman with Brian Barends as Honorary Secretary... " That is fine for the club's web-site, but is really more than the readers of an international encyclopedia want to know. JohnCD (talk) 14:58, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

warnings on the page were repeatedly answered, such as insufficient notoriety. My most recent of three books was listed as a finalist for the Frank O'Connor Award, an international prize originating in Dublin. All three books were prize-winning short fiction collections. There's no vanity press work here. More than 100 of my memoirs and short stories are in print--but the complaint from Wikipedia seemed to have been insufficient online evidence. Ilkka_Saari
Ilkka_Saari · ( talk | logs | links | watch ) · [revisions] I made a wikipedia page for Ilkka Saari has IMDb ranking around 100000, so I think it is worth a wikipedia page.
About 300000 to 1000000 people see the name Ilkka Saari annually so there might even be traffic into this page. Significant amount of those persons will search
wikipedia for Ilkka Saari for reference; and thus give support for wikipedia. For these reasons final acceptance would be advantageous for wikipedia Information of Ilkka Saari is redeemed appropriate/correct by IMDb,Inbaseline
The deleter Michig said as an excuse for his unjust deletion that he can disregard IMDb totally. I sent him a copy of Ilkka Saari's CV as The Variety id =7303 and asked how many professional websites he is able to disregard. Ilkka Saari has IMDB, The Variety and Inbaseline; three professional websites. As per words of Michig professional websites are an encyclopedic proof. The Variety includes references to Bond#24 / The Visitor screenplay. Michig has not conveniently answered to critisism and private references to Matrix trilogy. On request The Variety content will be provided to whomever is judging unjust deletion
Michigs answer to Variety CV: Regarding your further emails, notability needs to be established by significant independent coverage in reliable sources (i.e. reliable independent sources writing about Ilkka Saari in a non-trivial manner). A CV is not independent, and there's no significant independent coverage at IMDB. Please channel your efforts into finding suitable examples of significant coverage as this is your only hope of justifying an article here.--Michig (talk) 10:29, 22 January 2011 (UTC) shows that as he can not justify further disregarding both The Variety and IMDb Michig chooses to ignore / disregard The Variety CV by not referring to it; which means malice in disregard of facts in this case
I hope you notice that I am fighting for the rights of 7 million film industry people, and you should have clear guidelines of who can be in wikipedia by filmindustry rankings. So I hope you reassess this case and even factualize by your answer that there is an existing lack of guidelines
The list of film industry ranking / notability providers is very short; it is IMDb; which I have around top 100000. Develop clear guidelines of who can be in wikipedia for film industry people and judge me accordingly. This is what I ask of Wikipedia

Wikipedia has decided on its guideline for inclusion: the criterion is called notability and is not a matter of opinion, or of IMDb ranking but, as Michig told you, of whether you can demonstrate "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Tom Waits
I am Rickie Lee Jones, a new member to Wikipedia.
wikipedia is, as I have read, not only a discography but a factual biography of artists. It is created by users, and it includes opionions as well as opinion of fact. That is, what a thing 'meant' to a career. My inclusion of a paragraph in 1970's about Rickie Lee Jones and Chuck E Weise was deleted from the entire history of Tom Waits, and I find this most offensive and peculiar, since the relationship is well documented. Why exactly was it omitted? -Balmgirl (talk) 15:22, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
