[edit]Hacking images
[edit]I haven't seen this for myself, but see the message on this Talk:Flags_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America#www.cadsofttools.com_HIJACKING_Open-Source_Wikipedia_images talk page. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 00:35, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Bubba73, hope you're well. I see that The Anome has already taken up the issue at the said talk page. That's almost like sending Iron Man in to finish the job :D I think we don't need to do anything beyond that. Pleasure to see you around. Warmly. Lourdes 03:13, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, so I'm going to considered that it is being handled. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 03:37, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Key Art - please tell me
[edit]Please find someone that can answer this. Does this style exist before now? Where? When? By Whom?
"Rough definition of key art to me - 'key art' assumes there is a lock to the art and the artwork is meant to be hung up where others who do not know the key will view the artwork. (like code in view of all... cryptography test like I suppose - 'key art' is meant to be displayed in front of everyone, but the 'key art' is at it's best when before knowledge of the key the viewer can't get the level or levels the key reveals - 'key art' is at it's perfection when after the key is seen, the viewer is like 'why didn't I see that'). The ordering in some 'key art' is necessarily very precise. - invented in 2017 for fine arts, I guess..."

- Hello there and welcome to Wikipedia. This desk is for editing assistance on Wikipedia and not for general queries. The appropriate desk for the same would be Wikipedia:Reference desk/Humanities, where you could repost your query. (Just for information, we've had the Key Art Awards organized by The Hollywood Reporter for many years now. I don't believe they define it precisely in the manner you do but it may refer to the same genre. Interestingly, my husband has a tie of Gianfranco Ferré, which has the GFF logo hidden as a key art. Anyway, the RefDesk responders would be able to assist you better. Come back here if you have any editing issue. Thanks.) Lourdes 12:15, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. The piece has a greatly detailed message within it, so it's far beyond a logo. It is definitely code(will have to amend the definition. I am glad to know that fun hidden things have been going on. Didn't realize that there was a Key Art Awards... that's interesting, I will look that up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.167.181.141 (talk) 12:24, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
One more thank you. Wikipedia humanities was immensely helpful, and AnonMoos nailed it with the mention of Roman à clef. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.167.181.141 (talk) 13:06, 27 August 2017 (UTC)
Denise Oliver-Velez
[edit]Just saw that someone put up a page about me. My name is misspelled in the headline. My correct name is Denise Oliver-Velez - no accent mark. Can't seem to find how to edit it DeeOlive (talk) 15:52, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Denise, I have done the requested change, as the sources apparently also mention the name without the accent. Thanks. Lourdes 16:09, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
How to return the content of possibly lost article Feudal tenures?
[edit]Feudal tenures is redirect. This implies that the creator of this redirect could destroy the original article. Is there any way how to verify this conjecture? Thanks in advance! Chomsky (talk) 15:58, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Chomsky, don't worry. When an article is converted into a redirect, the past content can be accessed through the redirect's history. In certain cases, when an article is first deleted and then redirected, the past content can be accessed only by requesting any administrator. However, Feudal tenures has no original content within it. It was created as a redirect and remains so till date. Read Help:Redirect to understand how redirects work. Feel free to write back for any more clarification. Thanks. Lourdes 16:13, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Dana Tai Soon Burgess wiki
[edit]Hello! I updated and cited the Teaching section for Dana Tai Soon Burgess (specifically George Washington U. info - he is no longer the department chair). I also added interview links from media sources including the Smithsonian, National Portrait Gallery and ARIRANG TV in China. A bot reverted the interview links, but the teaching info is also not showing. Can you please advise? Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.15.194.160 (talk) 18:41, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. Thanks for your contributions. Your additions of Youtube links may not be acceptable, as Wikipedia requires absolutely reliable sources when you contribute to biographies of living persons. The bot had reverted your addition of the youtube links. I see you have reverted the bot's edit. I should suggest that you immediately undo your edit and instead of youtube links, use reliable sources to support your added material. Please necessarily go through Wikipedia's absolutely imperative biographies of living persons policy, WP:YOUTUBE and reliable sourcing guidelines before continuing to edit; this will be really helpful. Please don't hesitate to come back here for more help. Warmly. Lourdes 03:40, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Lupin Anti-Vandal Tool not working
[edit]For about a week, I have been using the Lupin Anti-Vandal Tool to correct typos in articles. For some reason, today it isn't working. The tools aren't appearing in the tool section, and when I try to go to the spellcheck page, it doesn't work. Does anyone know why it would suddenly stop working? CoolieCoolster (talk) 23:44, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello CoolieCoolster, the Lupin tool is known to have issues with browsers like Explorer, Chrome. I should suggest usage of Firefox for a seamless usage. Also, if you've installed the script in your vector.js page, I would suggest removing the script from your vector.js page and reinstalling the script in your common.js page. Adding the script to vector.js may create issues when viewed in skins other than the default vector skin. Another issue that may be hindering your usage is Wikipedia's RSS feed (which Lupin utilizes), which is known to be spotty. You can't do anything about that though. More information on the same can be found at WP:LAVT. Warmly. Lourdes 03:46, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- It has been in my common.js file since I started using it. I am using Chrome, and it worked until yesterday, so I'm not sure what happened. CoolieCoolster (talk) 14:39, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- I went on Firefox to see if that would let me use Lupin, but even in Firefox it isn't appearing. CoolieCoolster (talk) 14:47, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- You're right. I tried it too and the tool doesn't seem to be working. Let me request PrimeHunter for inputs. Thanks. Lourdes 14:41, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
