Harvard Library
[edit]The Harvard Library includes more than 25 libraries across Harvard University, as well as shared services in access & discovery, preservation & conservation, information & technical services, and digital innovations & strategy. The Harvard Library is nearly 400 years old, making it the oldest library system in the United States. Its collection holds nearly 21 million volumes, 400 million manuscripts, 10 million photographs, and one million maps.
Project Aims
[edit]- Create or enhance citations for articles
- Edit articles to add images and or to expand the content, in accordance with Wikipedia’s guidelines
- Add digital images from public domain or CC licensed Harvard Library collections to Wikimedia Commons
- Add citations and/or edit articles in non-English Wikipedia (for staff with relevant language skills).
- Contribute to Wikidata
- Provide links to finding aids and digitized primary source material where possible throughout Wikipedia.
- Create or enhance existing biographies of people and organizations whose papers and records are held by the Harvard Library.
- Create or enhance existing biographies of Harvard University faculty and alumnae.
- Create or enhance existing entries about or related to Harvard University history.
