- As something towards resolution of this, I've identified the EF hit in question. I'm not certain exactly what caused the filter to match, but I suspect that if the content was in English there wouldn't be a problem. —SMALLJIM 12:03, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- I am quite familiar with this filter. It will trigger if you're using Cyrillic - this is fairly unavoidable. However I'd suggest two working workarounds: a) log in, or b) include the interwiki (ru: ) or any wikilink in the edit summary. It would be possible to allow 10/8 addresses, but these two solutions would be preferable. -- zzuuzz (talk) 12:26, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- (b) works, but I still think that Labs IP's should be excluded from spam checking. MaxBioHazard (talk) 03:21, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

- Attempting to add the 'organization's official website' with an external link to http://www.ecakingman.org/ for the already existing reference to the Emmanuel Christian Academy's under 'Other Schools'. This external link 'within the body' of the article is allowed under the Wikipedia guidelines for 'external links'. I also was adding the link to the wiki page for the Kingman Academy of Learning but that change also was not accepted because I could not save the page. I 'tried again' to save the page at least 10 ten times and was not allowed by the 'warning' against spammers adding external links inappropriately. I'm okay with getting a 'warning', but once is enough.......and then let me(or anyone) reap the consequences of being 'blacklisted' if we are failing to adhere to Wikipedia guidelines. And I am OKAY that submitting this 'false positive' report puts my edits under 'greater scrutiny'. I'm not a spammer.

One, you completely b0rked the article formatting. Two, the article on the place does not need an extensive discussion on the language spoken there. Three, although the links you added appear to be relevant, it is strongly frowned upon to add links to your own content on Wikipedia; this is considered conflict of interest editing. ⁓ Hello71 16:13, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

The section "sexual terminology" of the ancient Roman poem Catullus 16 is currently edited from a Christian perspective. For instance, sex acts are represented as obscene acts and anal and oral sex are said to mean homosexuality. The first issue is a misrepresentation of how Romans saw sex and the second issue is a set of implications that only a person who understands sex and aggressive language very poorly can come to.
In addition, the poem contains a verse I'll fuck your asses and mouths. It is a very aggressive poem that is intended to show how much the poet is a manly man. In this poem, Catullus can be understood as the Roman equivalent of modern aggressive singers. For that reason, if we want to explain what this poem is about in an honest way, we need to allow bad language including face-fucking, butt-fucking, I am a man, I have a dick, and go to hell.

- Description
- I was trying to edit a song title in the Nothing But The Beat 2.0 tracklist "What the F***" to "What the Fuck" as I think the asterisks (censorship) is not necessary due to the Wikipedia's nature of not requiring to censor profanity. Also "What the Fuck" is the actual song title not with asterisks.

- Reporting this on behalf of Provoallstar. I'm concerned about edits like this one — it's basically just replacing one link with another. Is the filter intended to catch edits of this sort? Regardless of whether the new format is best, this is plainly good-faith editing. If we could magically prevent all false positives, I don't expect that the filters would be doing anything here. Nyttend (talk) 15:05, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

- There were a lot more links in the new version than in the old one, so it wasn't just mostly replacing one link with another. Jackmcbarn (talk) 01:16, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

- Description
- I was trying to fix some dead urls. (1) A link to an article on Khaleej Times had gone 404. (2) I did a google to the site's title; it hit on a link to an archive site -- one new to me. (3) When I tried to save the new cite template, with the new archive in the archiveurl field, my edit was rejected. (4) A discusssion at WP:Archive.is RFC had decided the site should be put on a blacklist. (5) THIS IS THE PROBLEMATIC PART -- I commented out the url that was on the blacklist, and the rogue blacklist robot blocked THAT edit.
Robot! You are our slave! Material inside comments is for humans to read, not robot slaves! Your author should have programmed you to ignore everything inside them!
- This would be funny if it weren't so annoying. This bot appears to be so paranoid it won't even allow me to post a good faith comment about its problematic behaviour in a comment where I tried to use a URL that it was told should be blacklisted.
I repeat my position, comments are for humans to read, and should be hands off to robots.

- @Hbs~dewiki: There's profanity in the page, and that together with major changes by a user with very few edits caused the filter to trip. If you lost your changes, I can copy them to a page in your userspace if you'd like. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:28, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
- I've saved my version. - True, the changes are major - but then the article was very muddled, riddled with errors, and badly outdated - plus marked with a couple of maintenance tags. What I do not understand: Where is there profanity on this page? I can't see anything - so please let me know. Hbs~dewiki (talk) 01:19, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Hbs~dewiki: The author of one of your references was "Ralf Fücks". Although that seems to be his real name, for obvious reasons, it tripped the filter. Jackmcbarn (talk) 02:35, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- So can you reverse the decision of this filter? If the filter can't distinguish between an umlaut and a normal vowel it's obviously not working and needs to be fixed - nevermind the fact that en wikipedia even has an article on Ralf Fücks. Hbs~dewiki (talk) 14:48, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Hbs~dewiki: It deliberately doesn't distinguish between an umlaut and a normal vowel. If it did, vandals would quickly learn to use umlauts on all of their vowels when vandalizing. This is why the filter only applies to editors with very few edits. If you just want to get your edit to save, you can do it in two parts: first, make all of the changes but leave the name out, then in a second edit, add the name. Jackmcbarn (talk) 16:41, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! I'll try that shortly. Cheers Hbs~dewiki (talk) 16:57, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
