Alex Gilbert: Expanding the article

Hello!

I noticed that you have the article Alex Gilbert under your work! Which is great. I have been helping add sources to this article. I am a general tweaker editor here in NZ. I am wondering if you are able to expand the article? I am not sure on how to write it all correctly. Have a section just about his project on the page? I see that is already there however I think it might be all over the place. I would like to know your thoughts! Thank You! --TheDomain (talk) 04:20, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. Yes I was involved in the article and after so many rejections, it was finally admitted to Wikipedia. I checked the additions you made specially for references and it certainly improved the article. As far as additional info goes, I think the Gilbert article can be expanded so as not to make it just a "one issue" article, but rather a coverage of his career. I always thought an article about a person should be about all one's body work.

For example, we just have a passing remark about his TV work like this: Quote: Outside of adoption advocacy Gilbert works as a TV field producer and occasional camera operator. He went to South Seas Film and Television School in 2011 to study film and television.Unquote

But he has done considerable work as a look at his IMDb page would indicate. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4338251/ Perhaps soemthing could be added about his involvement in Catch and Cook! With Adventure Aaron TV series where he was associate producer and camera operator on no less than 5 episodes. werldwayd (talk) 08:59, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi werldwayd. Thank You for your improvements on the article earlier on. I do think that we could add that he has worked on various tv shows outside of his adoption advocacy maybe? I am not a writer but there are so many sources now with all types of info. I thought about having Career and then under that "I'm Adopted" as a section and something else but IMDb is not a reliable source and I don't know about including it too much. I did see he has done alot of old previous film work though as an Intern and Camera Assistant but the mistake from looking at the history was, someone noted he was a camera operator. He's obviously an adoption advocate but in the past it was something else it looks like he did. On his website at alexgilbert.co.nz he notes one single line 'I also work as a Production Assistant for TV.' and the website is mostly focused on his adoption advocacy. I also found this which is coming up [1] & [2]. I assume there will be some sources that will come to light that is reliable about this. Thanks Werldwayrd. Please do go through and edit and clean up if you can. --TheDomain (talk) 09:12, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
You are probably right about him being an adoption advocate primarily. But still I feel other work he has done should be mentioned. Particularly him producing a full TV series as an assistant producer is worth highlighting. I checked the links and they look fine. But they will become more relevant when an actual law is passed in the New Zealand Parliament. But now it's just an initiative by one MP and an awareness campaign. Or a mention would be appropriate when he publicly addresses a Parliament committee on the subject with due references. Perhaps he has done so, I don't know. By the way, I was watching the film Lion and I was constantly reminded of Alex Gilbert while watching that film. Gilbert's image just flashed in my mind so many times and I remembered the long process through which Gilbert's story had become part of Wikipedia after so many attempts. In the film Lion an Indian boy is adopted by an Australian couple. I was also reminded by a song by Billy Gilman called "Oklahoma" a link of which you can find here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0aW1CQslDk Lyrics here http://www.metrolyrics.com/oklahoma-lyrics-billy-gilman.html talking about how after so many years, the adopted foster boy in the song meets his real father and decides to live with him instead. I dedicate it to you for your interest in this subject. werldwayd (talk) 10:35, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

I will see what I can do with the article myself. Do have a look and do make any edits that can help! Yes I have also seen Lion. And it reminds me of Gilbert as soon as I heard about it! Thank You werldwayd for your help. --TheDomain (talk) 18:31, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi werldwayd . I have added and cleaned up the article a small bit :-) There are so many sources so I don't think what happened to the page a few years back will happen again. How do you think the notability is on the article? I want to expand it however I have no idea how to do that. I will let it grow and work on it down the line with tweaks here and there. Please please do have a look and make any edits that may help! Thanks! --TheDomain (talk) 19:11, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Yes thankfully with all the sources, it has notability and won't be considered for deletion again. I took a look at the new edits. The creation of a separate section for television is a good start for further notability. I believe it can be a new springboard for further expansion. I have added his contribution as assistant producer for the television series werldwayd (talk) 19:32, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Note: Ive added that he is currently a assistant producer for the Cafe TV show according to his linkedin Profile. Thanks werldwayd! --TheDomain (talk) 20:13, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

I have also added a separate section My Russian Side where i added info about the autobiographic documentary that he wrote and directed. I think the article is much more focussed and has added good additions about his TV career werldwayd (talk) 20:18, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your help werldwayd! Looks alot better. Before it was a bit of a mess. Thank You! --TheDomain (talk) 20:20, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Yes a few basic additions and better section titles give more focus and impact to the article. After 250,000+ edits in English Wikipedia, I tend to know what really works for an article. Anyway Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, but you do need to be involved at a certain level, like you have done, to improve on an article you do care about and feel can work on dedicating some precious time. Plus that Alex seems to be a very sympathetic and fascinating character. I think he will do good in enacting regulations about rights of adoptees in NZ and internationally. werldwayd (talk) 20:47, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Thats insane! That is alot! Thank You werldwayd! It's alot better! --TheDomain (talk) 21:27, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

werldwayd thank you for the edits tonight for the Alex Gilbert article! I found a few images on Wiki Commons but not sure if they can be used or not. I also updated the My Russian Side Book Updated Cover as from [3]. I found this too. See [4] I believe its from him a Russian TV Show called Anatomy of the Day. Thanks!! --TheDomain (talk) 08:33, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Actually you contacting me about this page rekindled my interest on the page, as I firmly believe in what Gilbert and his organization stands for. I know it is very useful and universal. The first time I got very involved was through Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron way at the beginning when huge efforts by user DmitryPopovRU was met with countless rejections and deletions of the page. He was just instrumental and never gave up against so much rejection and finally we had this article. This experience made me an even greater believer in perseverance. As a matter of fact, my entire attitude in editing in Wikipedia is very well explained in a few dedications I make to whoever visits my user page and my essential edits as a personal thank you to them. In that spirit, I dedicate these songs and the accompanying lyrics as a welcome word to all those who visit my page: 1, 2, 3, 4. It is in that spirit that I edit in Wikipedia. werldwayd (talk) 09:00, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank You werldwayd! It is looking incredible now! --TheDomain (talk) 17:59, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Redirect not to a dab page

Hi! I saw that you edited the surname article Gorsuch last week. You also created Gorsuch (disambiguation) right afterwards as a redirect. However, because Gorsuch is not a disambiguation page, the redirect is incorrect; I have tagged it for speedy deletion. I just wanted to give you a heads up for future situations. Let me know if you have questions. Cheers! — Gorthian (talk) 09:01, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

Although I rooted strongly for Nano, but I have to admit Robin Bengtsson is the best performance. And I think the best won for Sweden. As per the jury, as per the voting countries and I am sure with the popular vote. werldwayd (talk) 21:15, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
I am a little disappointed that Nano did not win. But I think when May comes I think Robin will probably be one of the favourites to place high. The performance will stand out in a field filled with ballads.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:22, 11 March 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Evenko

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Evenko, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Marina Kaye

Hi I am interested by the article. I could help you to write it. What is your opinion ? --Panam2014 (talk) 21:12, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Have you got the adress of her FB and Instagram, Twitter accounts ? Also, have you got a new photo of her ? --Panam2014 (talk) 14:02, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
We already do have an article for Marina Kaye. You can edit there including whatever I have edited. Truly I started the article on 26 May 2015 based on her wonderfully fascinating interpretation "Homeless" ‎https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwKkjLOHd7s that has been number 1 in France and Belgium and also a charting hit in Switzerland, but I don't know why it hasn't been famous elsewhere. In any case, going back to the article, a lot of fellow editors have already edited there after me. You can do the same. But if you do need my cooperation, be my guest. It would be a pleasure to cooperate for improving our Wikipedia page for such a good artist as Marina. You can also use my email as you find in my contacts page werldwayd (talk) 00:18, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
I have added the official website and the Facebook page. But for now the photo in infobox is the only file we have of her in Wikimedia Commons. werldwayd (talk) 15:31, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Some articles about her relationship with her father : [5], [6], [7] and [8]. --Panam2014 (talk) 09:31, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
Her story is like Franz Kafka's story. I hope it will work out. --Panam2014 (talk) 21:40, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
Well it is clear that her earlier childhood experiences did effect her in a profound way and is reflected in the type of music she produces. But somehow for me public feuds are distractions. I feel very much disturbed when feuds involve parents. Now it is time she concentrated on her art as that's what matters to the followers. Hopefully both sides can all get over it. I kind of am troubled if what we added will become a hindrance more than a help. We should concentrate on the art of the artist as a priority. In any case let's wait for her next album and singles instead and hopefully she will get more international fame and success. werldwayd (talk) 22:03, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
After, yes it is sad but his life has forged a certain character and a talent. Kafka was a great writer despite his difficult childhood, and that explains why his writing is lyrical and melancholic, like the songs of MK. After, I improved the article but I do not know how to format the references. And according to the latest rumors, she is going to be an actress. --Panam2014 (talk) 22:09, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
For more sources, we could contacted her ? Good idea ? --Panam2014 (talk) 21:55, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
Not really. That would be a conflict of interest. We could always search for sources independently. No reason to get her involved. werldwayd (talk) 13:42, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
I have added that she is an actress now. Could you check the article and change the infobox ? --Panam2014 (talk) 19:09, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
I have uploaded new pictures in commons. Could you chose one of them ? --Panam2014 (talk) 15:23, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi

User:Cyberpower678/IABot Management Interface/JSON to translate is where I placed the language file for the en language. If you and maybe some of your friends could translate this, I would greatly appreciate it. It's quite simple. Don't touch the keys, left-hand side, and only translate the values, right hand side. If you bork the JSON syntax somehow, it will not let you save so, it should be easy to spot what was borked.

  • I simply copied Cyberpower678s message to me. I have tried to translate as many as I can. If you find time for it could you take a look. I think Cyberpower would really appreciate it as he is trying to complete work on a bot that will archive dead links on SvWiki. You can perhaps not help me with this but at least I try to ask :)--BabbaQ (talk) 21:16, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:1000-miles-apart-xander-rawlins.jpeg

Thank you for uploading File:1000-miles-apart-xander-rawlins.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi, since I see you doing it in multiple places, I thought I'd inform you of the guideline at Wikipedia:PSEUDOHEAD. You're not supposed to use semicolons to make subheadings. Rather, you should always use equal signs which allow you to go down to Heading 4. Thanks! --Spike Wilbury (talk) 23:13, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

The file File:Giant-album-will-sheridan.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free cover art being used in a decorative manner in Will Sheridan#Discography. Non-free cover art is generally considered acceptable when it's used as the primary means of identification in a stand-alone article about the work in question. The use in other articles, however, typically requires a much stronger justification as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3. This particular album cover is not itself the subject of any sourced critical commentary within the relevant section so the context required by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking; moreover, using non-free album covers to illustrate single entries in a artist discography is something not allowed per WP:NFLISTS and MOS:MUSIC#Images and notation

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:10, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

The above also applies to File:Ngoma-will-sheridan.jpg. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:12, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments. I have rethought the whole presentation of the Will Sheridan discography section, did away with the album covers and did away with the infoboxes and and made the listings collapsed. werldwayd (talk) 15:30, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Bang-Bang Club update

@Werldwayd: Hello I working on an update of the articles about the Bang-Bang club and also the members. I take my time and maybe next year the job is finished. Because I did find your name as first author for some of this article I contact you. The theme I found via the photo of the Boy (girl) and the Vulture by Kevin Carter. My first impression was: something is wrong with the article about Kevin. Started my research and now I see: first I have to correct and update the other articles about this "club" and the other members. Only after this I can write an artikle about Kevin like my artikels about Georg Nees, William Fetter or Alex Kempkens (hi was in Biafra). I appreciate if you take a look at my updates. Best.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 07:21, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

@Werldwayd: Hello, I started with the article about Greg Marinovich. Please take a look. If you can help with the formatting of the citation I would appreciate this very much. Best. --Maxim Pouska (talk) 09:10, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Thank you Maxim for your great work on covering of Greg Marinovich and Bang-Bang Club. As you notice I have made some important review of the page and obviously the very much needed clean-up of the page. I've left the contents practically intact, but had to correct language, grammar extensively and the way referencing was done which was very much lacking. Now I think it is more in line with an encyclopedic presentation although it may need further review by other editors as well. When I started the Bang Bang Club page on Wikipedia, I was fascinated by the subject immensely. The fascination has not gone away after all this time despite editing thousands of other Wikipedia pages. This particular subject and page still hits me home to a great extent every time. What an amazing and remarkable work these journalists did, each and every one of them. Again thanks to your valuable contributions. werldwayd (talk) 15:05, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I just made the article Faydee on the Spanish Wikipedia and I can't figure out how to add the languages to it. Do you know how to do it? If so can you please do it for me since I have already made attempts in doing so. Plum3600 (talk) 23:39, 22 June 2017 (UTC)Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

I thank you very much for adding a page for this veritable international artist Faydee who I really like, exactly like you do. I greatly appreciate you adding the Spanish version of the page as you did. I see that the Spanish link has already been added now. So my help will not be needed there. But what I did was to add a the latest song by Faydee called "On My Way" with James Yammouni and Adam Saleh. I dedicate it to you as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvLIsWcjPx8 I see you visit Imran Khan page As a matter of fact, I run my own website http://www.1wxrld.com and I have currently not only two Faydee songs at #8 and #19 on my chart but an Imran Khan hit with the Moroccan Dutch duo Twin N Twice at #50 and I dedicate that song to you as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opusUVvp2bk The duo is signed to Imran Khan's label and is the first act to do so. werldwayd (talk) 00:28, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

The article Marc Hamilton has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. PKT(alk) 13:16, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Dear Werldwayd! can you make an article in English about Serbian pop-folk singer Sandra Afrika, which previous version deleted threee months ago? if you make this article, i will be grateful! Thank you! --217.66.152.98 (talk) 15:10, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

I would have loved to help. But this page was subject of discussion only very recently and was deleted after much discussion. So it would be just too early to reinstate after 2-3 months only and if I do, it will become subject to deletion discussion yet again. I do realize she is very popular and notable in Serbia, Croatia etc, but we do already have pages for her in those languages. Your request prompted me to check her materials though and I may consider her songs for inclusion on my personal Top 100 music website http://www.1wxrld.com And yes, I may come back to this artist at some much later stage to try to revive the English-language Wikipedia article. But it is just too soon I believe. werldwayd (talk) 18:20, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Expansion of Alex Gilbert

Hi Werldwayd,

Last time we talked I have added many more new sources for Alex Gilbert. There is so much I can have a look at for the article. I have added these but I am sure that we could expand the article even more. What do you think? Do you want me to link you with the new sources? --TheDomain (talk) 01:27, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Sure. If you have additional sources, it is always good idea to add and improve notability criterion. I think after the Parliament initiative in which he met many important figures who wanted to sponsor his project, media coverage tremendously increased. So go ahead to expand both with references and new content. It is well worth our while. werldwayd (talk) 07:09, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
For sure werldwayd! I expanded it a bit but I won't go overboard. But I understand that there are so many sources now. It must be able to be expanded on his early life etc. but it might be too soon? Never too soon I say! --TheDomain (talk) 08:01, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
I am not sure how to write all of that. But I will try! Thank You werldwayd --TheDomain (talk) 10:14, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Eyewitness-the-film.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Eyewitness-the-film.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:59, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Voice (U.S. season 13), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Someone Like You (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tim Schou, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. this old house collapsible seasons

Not sure if this is a edit done by you or was removed by a member that I can't see their edit but your collapsible sections somehow have been removed. I did make a edit which notated the change of host from 2002 to 2003 from Steve Thomas to Kevin O'Connor.

I was wondering if this is something you may have removed and I just can't see that or if it was removed by someone else. It looked better the way you had it instead of the way it's at now because the other way you could shrink the seasons and find the season you want quicker.

Page I'm referring to....

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_This_Old_House_episodes Winsdor2252 (talk) 23:24, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

Actually when this listing was part of the main page of This Old House, the page was extremely long and very tedious. But with moving of all this into a separate List page, I am neutral actually whether collapsing is actually needed or not. Either way the listing is ok with me, and I ave no preference, but I am aware that in separate listings of TV episodes, usually the presentations are kept intact rather than collapsed. werldwayd (talk) 01:02, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to United Nations Detention Unit you included material from People detained by the International Criminal Court. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:26, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The-Plain-Truth-August 1983.png

Thank you for uploading File:The-Plain-Truth-August 1983.png.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 13:30, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Werldwayd. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Nick Nittoli, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:35, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Groupe Valentine Inc.

I would like to congratulate your hard work on trying to improve the article MTY Food Group and other relate articles. However, some of your work would be quickly undone by other editors since your new article about Groupe Valentine Inc. is is almost identical to the recently deleted Valentine (restaurant) article that failed WP:AFD per discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Valentine (restaurant). You may want to read the comments and try to improve the article by addressing the mentioned deficiencies before the article gets deleted a second time. - 68.50.32.85 (talk) 05:03, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks User talk:68.50.32.85 for the reminder. I was absolutely not aware of the discussion on Valentine (restaurant). Had I known, I wouldn't have created the page in the first place. What I felt when editing MTY though was that all those details about Valentine in a MTY Food Group article unlike tens of other MTY brands just gave undue emphasis to Valentine, which I must admit is a very very small portion of the MTY organization. So why all that detail there. So I just moved Valentine restaurant to a separate page, that's all. I would be very comfortable if the whole new Valentine article is deleted. What we now have in MTY article in a brief paragraph is more than enough I believe to cover the subject. werldwayd (talk) 08:54, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Good to know that you understand the situation. The reason why the Valentine section of the MTY article had much more detail than the other brands is due to the decision of the AfD to merge the Valentine article into a section of the MTY article in the hope that a future editor might expand the article enough to survive another delete attempt. Since Valentine is based in Quebec, it is my opinion that it would be very difficult for an English speaking editor to expand the article without having the ability to read the Quebec-based French language news sources. (BTW, it might not be a bad idea to look at an article's recent editing history prior to performing major work on an existing article since that might help you avoid wasting time on something that could be undone a few days later.) - 68.50.32.85 (talk) 02:19, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
