Notice of noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is "Request for block review". Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 10:45, 10 April 2017 (UTC) Thank you for letting me know. Vanguard10 (talk) 03:30, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for signing up for this project. It is a very busy and active project with lots going on and we can always use more help and especially a fresh set of eyes. If you haven't done so already you might want to add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft to your watch list as this is where much of the background discussion occurs. You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. If you have any questions you can leave me a note or post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft, either way you will get a quick response. - Ahunt (talk) 11:45, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

wikibreak
[edit]Vanguard10 is taking a short wikibreak and will be back on Wikipedia soon. |
For the next three months, I will not be able to edit in a substantial fashion, such as improving an article to FA or GA standards. I will read Wikipedia often and occasionally add small edits, though. Vanguard10 (talk) 02:10, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please clean up the naked URLs. For more information please see WP:CITE

I Saw Figure 5 in Gold
[edit]AT DYK I left a note asking someone else to do the length check. If that passes (and I believe it will, or will be close enough to fix), I hope you can return to continue the process. Otherwise, please leave a note that someone else should take up the review. David notMD (talk) 12:01, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
- Progress being made. To run a copyright check, go to this: https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/ Once there, type the title of the article into Page title. What you will get for I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold is "Violation possible" Look for the highest percentages. Way over on the right, click on Compare. That will show you a side-by-side comparison of the possible source of content and the Wikipedia article, with duplicated text highlighted.
- I believe the article is OK as written. the possibles are because of the long quotes in the article, which are indicated as quotes and attributed to the original sources. The top one - slideplayer - is something different. This is what is called a mirror site. It copied exactly what I composed at Wikipedia, over more than 20 separate edits, to create its content from the most recent version. So that is it copying me, not the reverse.
- I am continuing to make small changes to the article because I intend to nominate it for Good Article status after the DYK appears. David notMD (talk) 11:55, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Will you be returning to continue the DYK review? David notMD (talk) 19:48, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for completing the process. FYI - rather than the green check you added, for DYKs you are supposed to use the template from the DYK process, as it creates a green circle with a check inside. I replaced your green check with that. David notMD (talk) 12:18, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

DYK for TWA Hotel
[edit]On 23 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article TWA Hotel, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Eero Saarinen-designed TWA Flight Center airport terminal was designated a landmark and is being redeveloped into the TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/TWA Hotel. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, TWA Hotel), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Request for Participation at WT: Airports
[edit]As you may be aware, there was a recent discussion on the talk page of WP:Airports which prematurely and without consensus resulted in mass changes to airport articles throughout Wikipedia. Before a drastic change like this is put into practice, it is important to have clear consensus, which from my readings as an observer, did not occur. Many of these changes started to occur before any real discussion had taken place, and despite much disagreement from some community members. Disagreement is good -- it's great actually -- without it nothing would ever get done. But it's important that everyone opinions are heard fairly and accurately, and that significant changes like merging the Regional Airline destinations with the Mainline destinations are not done without such consensus. I encourage you, as someone involved in WP:Airports and the original discussion, to voice your opinions and discuss with others about how we should move forward at this point. Positive and constructive conversation is the way to a consensus. I also ask that everyone (myself included) ceases merging or un-merging mainline/regional destinations until a censuses is reached. Please contribute to the conversation here. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 00:44, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 9
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited WestJet Encore, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Chinook and Bombardier (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Thanks for starting that discussion. I was worried the discussion we were having had stalled, and at risk of being archived without being resolved (someone programmed the bot to be very quick on the trigger, archiving threads less than a week after their last activity; fortunately, that's been fixed, but it seems we need more time than even that). Whatever comes of it, I'll abide by it. I did reply to you there, however, not so much to reply to you personally but so we can get the ball rolling and centralize the discussion, get all the opinions in one place. May 2018
[edit]It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. SounderBruce 21:45, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know your concern. Do know that expression of concern can be interpreted as a false accusation or even a personal attack so expressions of concern have to be worded with utmost care. There was no canvassing. I did not ask anyone to make a comment on any talk page. I am actually very concerned about you. I thought that you might be a good person to work collaboratively but it appears that there is a risk of edit wars based on the large amount of discussion that has taken place just to use the word "adjacent" to describe a bus stop. Vanguard10 22:00, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. SounderBruce 22:24, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- I am very disappointed at your behavior, SounderBruce. I would have expected better decorum from you because of your many edits. Because of your aggressive behavior, I do not plan to edit anymore on Wikipedia after finishing a DYK being prepared and fixing that article a little, concluding the noticeboard action that you started / finish working on just one paragraph (last paragraph about the bus stops) of the SeaTac/Airport station article in question. My other work on other prospective FAC articles is now suspended. It is possible that I might return in 4-6 months or edit a minimal amount but no commitment is being made.
- If you, SounderBruce, are the face of Wikipedia and how an experienced user acts, or is what the administrative community encourages, it is not the Wikipedia that I know and dedicate my time for.
