Declined G6 speedy deletion at Vagonetto Decauville

Just noticed you draftified the article instead of deleting it - the editor who created the article created it at the wrong title, and rather than moving it created a new article at the translated title Decauville wagon. The draft will not be edited as the page already exists as a translation of the article on the Italian Wikipedia. Not really a big deal since the draft will get automatically deleted eventually anyway, but thought I should let you know. I probably should've explained in the speedy template, my mistake. Thanks! Tollens (talk) 19:55, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Thanks, I didn't realize any of that. I've deleted the draft. Spicy (talk) 20:00, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Thanks - I somehow missed that. What a mess. Block evasion or sock puppetry?

Hi Spicy, do you have time to look at the contributions of User:Chilli Chin? They have created a large number of articles in the last day, some of which (as far as I can tell) seem to be copied directly from existing drafts, and at least two of those drafts were created by Hawaiian Lad who you blocked for spam and likely UPE. Thanks Melcous (talk) 04:45, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

Yep, that's an obvious spam sock. It is pretty clearly the same operator as another account I recently blocked, Ana De Armani. I might look into it further and file a SPI when I'm not on mobile. Thanks, Spicy (talk) 04:59, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello Spicy,

The New Page Patrol team is sending you this impromptu message to inform you of a steeply rising backlog of articles needing review. Don't know if you remember rejecting someone's attempt to AfD this article as an "obvious hoax"? This was based on my notes on the talk page. The article had turned up at WP:PNT tagged as a possible hoax and I took a swing at it because who else was going to try to source such obscure medieval Frenchishness? Anyway, I saw this as I was going through some old work and noticed that there were two subsequent attempts to call it a hoax. I was just wondering if you have any idea what that was all about. I am not sure I can convey how obscure that topic is, and cannot imagine why anyone would create a hoax in it, is all, much less claim that one is there that (apparently) is not... although I am sure you have seen plenty of even more more pointless efforts, I guess. If you don't remember this, or can't tell me about it for whatever reason, no worries. I'm not not losing sleep over this, just kinda shaking my head. Thanks for any brainpower that you may apply to the question. Elinruby (talk) 01:58, 3 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello Elinruby. I'm not sure what the person who originally tagged it was thinking, but the subsequent activity was from a troll, or someone incompetent enough to be indistinguishable from such, who is now blocked and globally locked. I don't have any thoughts on the article myself, besides that it's not obvious from skimming the page that there's anything wrong with it. Spicy (talk) 23:49, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
thanks. I just wondered. Unless somebody somewhere is trying to invalidate somebody's title to some castle or other -- which I don't think would work -- I can't formulate a reason for a hoax in the part I haven't checked in detail, so I have triaged finishing the verification as excruciatingly boring and therefore really low priority.
TL;DR, Taking your answer to mean that you don't know either. Oh well. Thanks for the answer; it just seemed conceivable that there might have been a rant somewhere along the path to that indef. Elinruby (talk) 00:16, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Burgenland Roma

Can you please bring back the article about the Burgenland Roma? @Spicy

First of all I apologize for posting a message on your talk page. Because I have no choice without your help. I am currently in global lock due to creating multiple accounts. When I was new to Wikipedia I created multiple accounts without realizing it and unique. Later I was contributing to Bangla Wikipedia as per all policies. But my English Wikipedia account is blocked was I admitted all my early mistakes and asked them to give me a chance on my talk page. But I'm locked globally. Please give me a chance you hope no more mistakes I promise to work according to all principles.

I usually file an case at SPI and let you guys handle things but I just blocked User:TheSueSonsFour for being a suspected sockpuppet of User:Sueson766 once I saw they were recreating some of the same templates. New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Spicy,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

Hey, I saw that this user was indeffed for sockpuppeteering. Also saw concerns listed on the SPI page about NOTHERE/CIR. I take those on board, but it seemed to me that I was making a bit of headway into guiding the user toward some constructive editing. She identified a South African actor with no Wiki page but for whom their are enough sources that we could write one. I'm content to write that article myself, but I was hopeful to show them how to contribute constructively. The block is totally appropriate on paper; I just wonder if it's a slightly blunt instrument in this case. (I understand this is often a dilemma with younger editors.) Just for your consideration. --Jprg1966 (talk) 23:46, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Hello Jprg1966. I admittedly hadn't seen your conversation with the editor prior to the block. I think it's admirable that you're trying to mentor them, but looking at the history of these accounts, I'm not convinced that, even with guidance, they have the skills to be a productive contributor at this time. In addition, there are other serious concerns at play (see the notice on Divalicio's talk page). I know that when it looks like someone is at least trying to contribute, it's tempting to help them. I've attempted to mentor some editors in the past myself. However, without a minimum level of competence these situations tend to end in frustration for both parties. Spicy (talk) 01:40, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
OK, that's fair enough. Maybe in time they can return with a bit more experience. --Jprg1966 (talk) 01:48, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Srijana Danuwar

Hi, I am not against you but Did you read the comment left by Bkissin? And I didn't accept this draft though It passes GNG as well as NPOLITICIAN. Fade258 (talk) 10:18, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

That comment also provides no indication of what block is supposedly being evaded. I can see that a redirect at that title was created by a sock, but no one has provided any evidence that the IP creating the draft is a sock. If you think it is one, you can file a report at SPI, but don't tag for G5 preemptively. Spicy (talk) 10:22, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

You looked at this some time ago. Now we have a "proper logged in puppet" (0.9 probability based on quacking), and another IP address. Noting that you are not a CU, would you mind taking a look, please. I've not flagged it for CU, but you may decide it needs it. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:43, 14 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi, i hope you having a good day. Please check this user: User:1michel100, per Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fastest man2010. Unfortunately he is back with dozens of different accounts on many Wikipedia projects. He is spamming just like before. This time he even edited Spanish, German and other Wikipedias. Mikeimi (talk) 16:32, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

I'm not a checkuser. You can file a report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Iran_Turkey_war; there are instructions on how to do so on the main SPI page. Spicy (talk) 17:05, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

User sharing account

Hi Spicy, I was looking at OlifanofmrTennant's user page and noticed they declare an alternate account, User:OlliefanT, which states on the User page another person has access to that account. Though no edits have been made and I think this is an AGF mistake, I am assuming it should be blocked as a compromised account. It might also be a good idea to confirm no one else has access to their main account, especially given this. S0091 (talk) 14:26, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I've chosen to discuss it with the user first... although I have a suspicion that there is no 'compromise' and it's all just a bunch of silliness. I'm not a CU, though, so I have no way of knowing. Some CUs watch this page, so maybe they'll be interested. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Spicy (talk) 21:28, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Spicy:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 1800 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Something a little ducky

Hi there. I'm reaching out to you because I see you were active in a lot of these: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BarehamOliver/Archive. I only have suspicions, nothing concrete. I am certainly not concerned about everyone there, but I wonder if you were to take a look at Talk:Michael Stone (criminal)#RfC - See also section, whether you might agree that there is something a little ducky going on there. The IP SPAs being particularly obvious, but just possibly not the end of it. Any advice as to the next step? Thanks. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 21:00, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

Sirfurboy, if you have concerns about a named account, please feel free to make a new filing at SPI. In my opinion, it's not worth worrying too much about drive-by votes from IP addresses. CU can't do anything with them, behavioural analysis can do little, and the closing editor is unlikely to afford their votes very much weight. Spicy (talk) 03:41, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I have done so after gathering more evidence. It wasn't the IPs I was concerned with - they were just what alerted me to potential interest by socks. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 18:48, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Hi, me again. Not wanting be impatient or anything, and I know there's a backlog, but I think I presented quite a compelling case for socking here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BarehamOliver. Do I just wait for a clerk to get to it? There is no immediate urgency, but I do have an open RfC which I think has some heavy vote stacking going on. The RfC has a while to run, but if I am correct then the disruption is pretty clear, and may be having a material effect on the outcome. Thanks. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 21:11, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Yes, the SPI team will get to it at some point. I've been meaning to take a look myself but I've been too busy in real life to have much time for Wikipedia and that doesn't seem likely to change in the immediate future. Sorry. Spicy (talk) 23:37, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

You blocked the last sock in the SPI archive. A non-stale puppet, although not for much longer, is QuattrostagioniIV. The behavior's not strong enough for me to block, although I'm convinced they're a sock of someone. No one new votes the way they did at AN and dredges up a block from 2007 to support their argument. Anyway, if you're willing... --Bbb23 (talk) 01:25, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

It's certainly suspicious, but multiple others have looked already, and I doubt I'd be able to find anything they couldn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Spicy (talk) 02:21, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Understood, thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 02:30, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

There are the following users

Hello. [217.12.125.61] [188.244.19.112] [2401:7400:C807:E5A9:5CBB:BD20:22B6:F238] [2401:7400:c807:e5a9:ed05:ddd9:85a:b15] [2401:7400 :c807 :e5a9:edb8:34b1:7754:6429] [2401:7400:C807:E5A9:C117: E83E:C907:F3FA] etc.. He(or she) writes in a similar style, using multiple IPs and changing IPs from time to time. Write. I would appreciate it if you could take a look. Freevisa1234 (talk) 14:41, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Freevisa1234, I assume from your previous post to my talk page that you believe these IPs are being used by Fridrik222/Denosio. I'm not comfortable making any comments on the IPs as I've previously run checks on that case. However, you can create a new filing at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Denosio using the form on this page and another administrator or clerk will evaluate the evidence. Spicy (talk) 16:16, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
I understand your opinion. I see. As this is only an estimate at this point, i'll not hastily request an investigation. Freevisa1234 (talk) 16:46, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Please look into extremely disruptive long term abuse from a religious nationalist editor

There's an extremely disruptive religious nationalist editor [2] who has been trolling the encyclopedia for the past 4 years. After one of his accounts, Javerine, was blocked in April, he has been on an aggressive campaign to aggrandize his religion through a combination of sock accounts, IPs and proxies, particularly to edit military history pages with the intent to glorify his side. He has made hundreds of block evading edits in the past few months. Kindly take a look at this-[3]. Southasianhistorian8 (talk) 13:34, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

I know you occasionally look through the AFCP list, could you please take a gander at this request? I'll take an opinion or action, depending on how strongly you feel. Thanks! Primefac (talk) 08:47, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Thanks. Primefac (talk) 17:29, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for defending me from the misunderstanding regarding "DENOSIO" on 8 January.

As someone who has contributed to many visa policies and map production over the past 2 years, I have recently been focusing on defending and cleaning up the suddenly increasing number of successors to "DENOSIO."

I plan to continue to defend editors who deface visa pages in the future. Lades2222 (talk) 06:38, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for the help at SPI! Have a wonderful week. Phönedinger's jellyfish (talk) 19:54, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

Nightowlanime

Hi, you previously checked one of the ranges I looked at in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Coder1702 per the Nightowlanime SPI so I thought you might be interested. They're busy ranges so it's entirely possible that there are just multiple sockmasters merrily co-existing on there without any awareness of each other's existence but I doubt Coder1702 is my friend's first account. I've dumped some stuff on cuwiki if you're interested. All the best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:54, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

HJ Mitchell, thanks for the heads up, but I don't believe I've ever checked Nightowlanime - maybe you're thinking of something else? Spicy (talk) 13:52, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
I'm sure your name was the last one in the log for at least one of the ranges but the more I think about it the less important it is who the original account is, if there was one. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:58, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Sock

Thank you for your help at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mathew Banks. Mathew bbanks! is an obvious sock but was indef blocked today for general vandalism without a SPI. Do we need to do anything else such as tagging or checking for sleepers? Other recently created accounts such as Mat banks1, MShanks0, Sir Mo Banks and Sir Mo Banks 19 have similar names but zero edits (and thus zero behavioural evidence). Certes (talk) 20:50, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Update: I just reported another sock that I'd somehow failed to spot, so any sleepers may come up on a CU for that. Certes (talk) 21:13, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
I checked Mat banks1 because it was created just a few days ago and the username is very similar. That one's probably them. I'm not comfortable checking the others. I'd recommend just reporting future socks to AIV once they start editing - they're very obvious. Spicy (talk) 15:25, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Reporting single UPE accounts

Hi. While new page patrolling I have come across new UPE accounts, obviously with prior familiarity editing Wikipedia, (1) doing mundane tasks (2) waiting 30 days (3) drafting a promo page in userspace and moving to mainspace. The problem is I don't know who the sockmaster is, if any prior case exists. Where should these be best reported - ANI or quick checkuser requests? Thanks. Local Variable (talk) 17:10, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Local Variable, the best place to report accounts like these is an individual CU's talk page (like mine...) or email inbox. The CU may or may not decide to check at their discretion. Spicy (talk) 17:17, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Well, here's the latest Minhtrihuynh (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). See also the likely ChatGPT authored response on their talk page, and the familiarity with the concept of namespaces in the edit summaries. Local Variable (talk) 17:26, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
They're the same as Novelshiphq, which technically isn't socking as that account was only soft-blocked. I'm probably extending too much good faith but I've blocked Minhtrihuynh from mainspace for now. Spicy (talk) 00:47, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Would you mind?

Would you mind blocking a an IP sock of User:SeriousHist, Special:Contributions/185.243.209.67. See the last thread on User talk:Qiushufang, the other IPs have been blocked by Bbb23 as proxies. I think that IP is a callback proxy as well. Thanks, v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 02:10, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Tool time

Hey Spicy! Did you use a script to format my horrendous data dump of names at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Lutheress? However you did it, thank you.-- Ponyobons mots 22:54, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Don't tell anyone, Ponyo, but I used ChatGPT. You could also do it using find-and-replace but it would probably take about the same amount of time. Spicy (talk) 00:23, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
I tried to find a way to use the cut and paste option from the CU tool to sort them, but I was paranoid about accidentally including stray data even if it was possible. Thank you again for cleaning up my mess.-- Ponyobons mots 19:53, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Bodiadub

Hello. Thanks for your efforts on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bodiadub. I started following another link (oneidentity.com) that I found in the discovered sock edits. I found 24 accounts that spammed the link. 2 of those you blocked in this round of blocks (11pigeons and Khall6) and 1 of which that you blocked a few weeeks ago (金牛5). User:Kuru was on top of it and has already blacklisted the link. Since the spam has been scrubbed and blacklisted and the accounts never return to editing, do you think that it would be beneficial to file another report? I don't mind to do so if the information collected would be of helpful, but don't want to just cause more work on everybody if there won't really be any benefit. Thanks! Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 00:56, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Apparition11, feel free to file another report. It's generally a good idea to run checks on these accounts. Spicy (talk) 00:58, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Sounds good. Will do! Appreciate it! Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 01:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
For the record - there's a ton of these. Always the same pattern. Create account, make a couple dozen minor edits, a few months later make a few dozen more and then slip in one or two spam links that are roughly in context, then usually abandon the account. I usually find it easier to track the links and not the socks; I've probably added a dozen domains from them. I'm sure the underlying IPs are a hot proxied mess. I think this is primal.co.th that's behind these, but not sure. Sam Kuru (talk) 01:04, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Possible UPE

This user is likely an undisclosed paid editor doing the usual sandbox-and-move-to-mainspace: Volbers (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). Local Variable (talk) 05:23, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

I don't think that behaviour on its own would merit a check but I did run one because I saw that a blocked account (RipleyRaderLosAngeles) previously tried to create the Ripley Rader article. There's no obvious evidence of other accounts, although something about the data seems kind of sus. Spicy (talk) 11:03, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
I admit that this kind of behaviour seems difficult to deal with, until the community agrees on a process about how to deal with it. They're articles that are technically within policy, barely within the notability guidelines, but made by contributors who are WP:NOTHERE. Thanks. Local Variable (talk) 12:59, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Quick question regarding SPI

Hi Spicy, just a quick question - regarding this SPI, is it worth reporting future already-blocked accounts (if any more are created) for the SPI record & to request CU, or would doing so be unhelpful/a waste of time? I'm happy to do so if I come across any, I just don't want to if it will annoy the SPI team! All the best, ‍—‍a smart kitten[meow] 19:46, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

It's not really annoying but I personally wouldn't bother. Spicy (talk) 20:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

A bowl of strawberries for you!

Thank you (again) for your work at SPI! Hope I didn't check off too many squares on the SPI bingo card. Have a lovely week! Schrödinger's jellyfish 18:26, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Nauman335

Thanks for your work on this as always. I am not sure if I should add to, create a new case, or simply request a quick CU so hoping you can point me in the right direction. The SOCKS in this case have created Draft:Khaie and Draft:Serial Killer (Pakistani TV series) from IP addresses over the last month (there's a 2400 range, 2404 range, and 223 range). I am looking to tie the IP addresses in the draft history to the SPI so they would be G5 eligible? CNMall41 (talk) 05:33, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

There is also Draft:Akhara (TV series) with other IP ranges. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:34, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Actually, I just refiled it so that all the IPs are in one location. They are back again today editing from IPs. Hopefully that makes a CU easier.--CNMall41 (talk) 20:36, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
CUs don't like to comment on IP addresses, so I'm going to leave that particular filing for someone else. Spicy (talk) 00:11, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
I understand. It gets worse actually as I found at least one experienced user I am sending email info on. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:58, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Jim 2 Michael

This editor appears to be another sockpuppet account associated with Jim 2 Michael. You have recently blocked two of his other sockpuppet accounts, namely 0qetuo and Zmlaqp. 33ABGirl (talk) 05:21, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi 33ABGirl, please create a SPI filing so this can get a closer look. Thanks, Spicy (talk) 10:23, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

I think this block needs to be revisited

You blocked this range from specific non-editing actions a while ago, but I think they probably need to be blocked further due to IPs continuing to vandalize, quite frequently. Here are the reverted contributions.

These edits are coming from across the range unfortunately. Thanks! Philipnelson99 (talk) 18:44, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

My block settings for that range were very intentional. It is large and very busy. You've linked to the reverted contributions, but the contributions in general paint a different picture. Since a lot of people like to vandalize, you will see a lot of vandal edits if you look at any busy range, but that does not necessarily mean the range should be blocked if it would significantly affect legitimate users. Spicy (talk) 19:17, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Understood. I do realize the collateral that would be caused by outright blocking it entirely. Just wasn't sure if any more action needed to happen. Thanks for clarifying! Philipnelson99 (talk) 19:31, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello

I hope this message finds you well! When you have time, I was hoping you could look into protecting Little Bear & Oswald as well as List of Little Bear episodes as you did Jack's Big Music Show to protect from vandalism! All vandalized by the same editor. Elvisisalive95 (talk) 17:53, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

I looked at those articles but I don't think there's enough disruption to justify protecting them yet. We'll see if they come back. Spicy (talk) 17:55, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
Ok, thank you for keeping an eye out! Elvisisalive95 (talk) 17:56, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

Merging two SPI

Hi Spicy, I come from Spanish Wikipedia. I was noticing that a category has been created for the sockpuppets of the user Exactamente, however I also noticed that there is a category for one of their puppets Viva la independencia. If it is possible to review the category on the Spanish Wikipedia, you observe that all of them are actually socks of Exactamente, which is the master. Merging the SPIs and categories maybe is more easy to react against Exactamente's vandalism. Thank you. Taichi (talk) 22:33, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Thanks Taichi, I've merged the cases. Spicy (talk) 21:27, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

Did just as you requested

Thanks. I needed that information to be oversighted fast. Don't want anybody else attacking me. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 11:27, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

More socks

Saw [[4]] after coming to [[5]] from WP:Teahouse#Reporting an administrator / moderator. Seems to be a few more editors there possibly associated with the subject, and [6] seems to be a paid editor given their statement about signing an NDA. I'm not sure they are a sock, or if either of the other SPAs are. Over to you if you want to investigate. Doug Weller talk 13:42, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

Discussion on lifting the ban

I would like to discuss with you lifting the ban, I refer to this topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Maneesh#c-Spicy-20240207104100-Notice_that_you_are_now_subject_to_an_arbitration_enforcement_sanction-1

You recommended that User:Maneesh appeal the ban. However, appealing the ban may presume that the initial reasons were incorrect. This is my understanding of appeal. I would, however, ask whether there is a different procedure, i.e. lifting the ban after substantial time have passed, without re-considering the initial reason of the ban?

Thank you in advance for your reply. Maxim Masiutin (talk) 10:50, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

If the ban was meant to be temporary the administrator would have defined it as such. Please read the information at WP:AE. My decline of the unblock request was procedural and I have no interest in this matter other than that. Spicy (talk) 10:51, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

Attacking

Hello, hope you’re fine. a User, Khwiser moved Asjad Raza Khan to Draft and now moved Mufti Salman Azhari, he just installed MovetoDraft tool and moved it to draft after 3 minutes of Installation, i hope the user is attacking on Barelvi articles. The user is also saying that they’ll report about my multiple accounts which i have already disclosed. Hope you’ll look into the matter. The user having a less number of edits, who have never drafted such articles in past, started from here only and undiscussed move is done. — QuadriSyedSahab(T · C 11:52, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

The user moved it by writing “This article was sent to AFD. There were two keep votes from the now banned sockpupe at that time. This cleric is not notable.” But you can have a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asjad Raza Khan and also at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asjad Raza Khan (2nd nomination) when there was sock strike and then the nominator had withdrawn the nomination. I hope if the user wants to Draft or want to get it deleted, they should try AfD. Waiting for the response. — QuadriSyedSahab(T · C 14:06, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

Help

wonder if I can trouble you with my SPI. I think I submitted it wrong. suggestions? Cheers - FOX 52 talk! 04:11, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

@FOX 52: It was too much of a mess to fix; I've deleted it. Please use the instructions for creating a new case at WP:SPI, or you can use Twinkle if you wish.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:24, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

As long as I'm here... You were the last CU to confirm socks in the above SPI. Although T&TRKFNF2022 has been around for a while and hasn't been uncovered, they edit not only the same Canadian transit topic but also entertainment articles, like Dead Malls, for example. Unusual userpage they created back in August 2023, although it doesn't look like the few socks I glanced at create userpages. Anyway, if you think there's enough to justify a check, your call. I noticed them only because they were reported at WP:AIV.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:38, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
