Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Ravee Farooq
[edit]A tag has been placed on Draft:Ravee Farooq requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
unnecessary redirect, no incoming links
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. An article you recently created, Raanee, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Niuma Mohamed edits
[edit]Hi ShappeAli, you recently made a few edits on the Niuma Mohamed page, specifically in the wikimarkup formatting of her filmography. I understand the unbolding of film titles, but you didn't explain your other edits and I would like to know what was their purpose. Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:01, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for reaching out to me. I planned to drop a message on your talk page thanking you for correcting the grammatical errors I made while writing the article. Apologies for the trouble you had to go through. Responding to your question, the main edits I did today were formatting and correcting the released year of some films, thanks to this IP user. I do not recall any major edits to that article today other than that. Have a good day. ShappeAli (talk) 15:10, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response, and please don't worry about grammatical errors, we all make our fair share of them ;) I didn't realize you had written the article (I didn't check), congratulations, I must say, it is very extensive and detailed, that must have taken you quite a bit of time and effort. The main thing I'm curious about as far as your last edit is concerned, is the way you changed the rowspan parameters in Mohamed's filmography. I am in the habit of bunching boxes with the same parameter, so for example, if she did three films in the year 2016, I will format it so that the year only appears once rather than three times (I'm sure there's a proper term for this action, I'm just not familiar with it). In your edit, you changed this so that the year always appears individually, even when it is repeated. So far I've only heard one argument in favour of this method, and it had to do with accessibility for people who are visually impaired, or possibly for the way it renders on the mobile app, I can't remember now. Was that your reasoning as well, or did you make the change for a different reason? Thanks! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:28, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Revirvlkodlaku: Hi, I looked at some of the featured filmography lists of some Bollywood actors including Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan and Shah Rukh Khan as reference and thought it would be better if I follow the format of these articles. But that being said I personally prefer to merge the year column. ShappeAli (talk) 04:21, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Right, I have a preference for merging the columns as well (thank you for providing a better term than the one I used); I just find it more visually appealing. Either way, I'm not too concerned about this particular article, I mainly wanted to know what your reasoning was, so thank you again for explaining :) Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 04:28, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Revirvlkodlaku: I just had a quick research and observed some FLs do have the year column merged. So I guess it would not be a problem if we do the same, right? Thank you for sharing your opinion on this and thank you once again for the grammar fix. :) Have a nice day. ShappeAli (talk) 04:35, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Indeed, I would not mind that at all as it is my preferred style visually. Thank you also for the pleasant chat and have a nice day as well :) Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 04:42, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Recent contributions
[edit]Hi, hope you're doing well! I have gone through your recent page creations regarding the Maldives Film Awards. Some added sources are primary while some sources redirect to homepage than target article. Please provide reliable sources. This note was sent as part of new page reviewer. Regards TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 13:17, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @TheBirdsShedTears:, thank your for the message. I have replaced the primary sources with other reliable articles from Haveeru mostly. I have initially prioritized the primary sources as they were listed in English language and keeping in mind that reviewers would find it easy to check for accuracy if needed. With regards to the redirect links, could you please specify which links lead to this issue. I have tried accessing all the archived links and they work perfectly fine for me. Cheers! ShappeAli (talk) 16:59, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- It appears you have added archived copies of source which is a good practice, but the original source redirects to the home page (original, archived). Since archived source URL appears ok, it is not necessary to focus on original source. Meanwhile, i am going to leave associated pages unreviewed and an expert of Maldivian language will review your page(s) as part of new page patrol. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:50, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello ShappeAli, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Jokaru, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jokaru.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|SafariScribe}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Orphaned non-free image File:Karu Hakuru.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Karu Hakuru.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
