Removal of "move closure review" notice
Hi Salvidrim, can the "move closure review" notice at the top of the Windermere, Cumbria (town) article be removed or is the discussion still ongoing? Thanks. ▲RedScrees (talk) 12:42, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Shit, of course, and sorry that I forgot to do it when I closed the discussion in February. :) ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 13:17, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Re: [1]. I would be quite willing to write up a nom statement if you are interested. — Ched : ? 17:42, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- *shrugs* I'm only interested insofar as people think I can actually be helpful. I never bothered to seek an RfB nom because I never felt that we were in need of one more 'crat. If people think they do, then of course I'd be happy to help. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 17:44, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- OK, then I am inclined to do so. I have company coming in a couple days, so I doubt I will have an acceptable statement before the middle or end of next week. I've always found you to be very helpful in many areas, and have been impressed by your evaluation of consensus. As long as you won't "decline" the nom, I will work on it. — Ched : ? 17:48, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- I've no more reason to actively seek a nom than I have reason to decline one. :) I have the RfB page for my name watchlisted ever since a troll created it years ago. ;) ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 17:55, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

RfB
Hey Ben, how ya doin? I may have a few days to get back to that RfB thing and was wondering if you had any input. Can you find a few of your more difficult, or quality closes that I could use as examples of determining consensus? — Ched : ? 11:14, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Hey Salvidrim. Wanted to ask if you made any headway on drafting an appropriate article for Jon Jafari after your comments at the DR here. I'd like to help or give it a shot myself if it hasn't been started yet. I, JethroBT drop me a line 23:17, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

PROD applicability to previously deleted articles
Hi Salvidrim!,
While the prod policy page is a little vague on whether prod can be used on a new article on a subject that was previously deleted at AFD, if you review the archives at WT:PROD, you will see that the consensus has generally been that such articles can't be deleted by prod. See for instance Wikipedia talk:Proposed deletion/Archive 13#AFD Zombies. Calathan (talk) 20:04, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for Reply, I will not edit anymore for this Lunatic Journalist Fardad Farazad. Instead, have lodged a formal complain to BBC to do something with this stupid jerk with 100% Facebook likes. I have totally lost the interest in BBC and irritated ever since every post says Fardad Farazad Likes it and I am sure there are many who hold the similar view. Have you came across such a person in your life? Journalist are meant to be nice and informative not jerky with "likes" all over the place.
Anyways, good luck to you with supporting him.

Additional AFCs for LCS DRV
Howdy. Per the LCS DRV, could you please do the same for Language Creation Conference & File:Language Creation Society seal.png, so the article can be drafted properly? Thanks. Sai ¿?✍ 13:35, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
- The file, no, because
freefair-use media cannot be used outside of articlespace. And my understanding was that LCC was merged into LCS before either got deleted, so restoring both seems superfluous (and unsupported by the DRV). ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 12:31, 6 June 2016 (UTC)- Could you explain the first part re. "free-use media"? (I don't know what you're referring to.) Re. the LCC article, I believe it was merged — [8] — but I don't know if anything was omitted. I'd appreciate if you could take a look in case there's anything missing. Thanks. Sai ¿?✍ 12:34, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I meant fair-use images. See Wikipedia:User pages#Non-free images. As for the LCC merge into LCS, I quickly skimmed the December 2015 merge and did not find any glaring omission. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 12:38, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Got it. Should I ask you again re the file when it's ready for AFC, or just re-create it in place? Sai ¿?✍ 12:48, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

Kit Parker 2007
I'm not actually sure that photo was taken in 2007. It was published in an article 2007, but the same article also had a photo marked as taken in 2003. See, the photo caption makes it clear that he was a captain at the time it was taken. (That is what CPT means, right?) And wasn't he a lieutenant colonel by 2009? Does someone go from captain to lieutenant colonel in 2 years? Or maybe I'm wrong in when he got the lieutenant colonelcy. Colonelship? --GRuban (talk) 16:59, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

- For the record, if you look at the article history, you'll see that Salvidrim isn't even the one who redirected your article. That being said, looking it over, it looks like multiple people seem to think that you're promoting your own personal work on Wikipedia? Is this true? Because that would mean you have a conflict of interest - Wikipedia is not the place to promote oneself, your product, or your own personal research. Sergecross73 msg me 12:28, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Serge said what I was gonna say. You seem to want to see your own research published on Wikipedia and elsewhere, so I'm not the one doing any "revising". ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 15:22, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Archive link missing?
Hello Salvidrim! See this edit, an update which you made to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/114.167.178.175. Wouldn't archiving an SPI report normally produce a clickable link to the archive? In this case, the archive is present but there is no advertised way to reach it. I might try to fix this if I knew how. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 20:18, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston: Generally, when you see this phenomenon, you should do a purge and the link will pop up.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:21, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)These things happen -- easily fixable by purging the page (which I've now done). Purging can be performed via quicklink in a few toolsets like Twinkle, or by adding
?action=purge&forcelinkupdate=true
after the URL. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 20:21, 26 September 2015 (UTC)- Bbb23, yesterday I responded to this question on your talk page, and now you respond to it on mine... soon we'll be so fused that we'll be indistinguishable from one another. :p ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 20:23, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

SPI archive link not showing up
Hi, Salvidrim!. Isn't the page Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mridusinha supposed to show a link to the archive? I see your edit here did leave an archive link template, but I don't see it showing up on the page, for some reason. Bishonen | talk 14:55, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

- Meh, it only happens every once in a while, and our archival is done with a single-click-tool. Replication lag is not a big enough issue to deploy significant efforts to counteract, at least within SPI. :) ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 15:39, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

Could you consider removing creation protection from Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Никита-Родин-2002? It really needs to be created at this point. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Никита-Родин-2002 and its archive, which has been particularly active lately. ~ RobTalk 00:55, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
