Grid references
I (and another editor) am getting a '503 Service Unavailable' for grid references on articles such a Surrey Wildlife Trust. Thanks for your work maintaining os and can you advise whether this is a temporary problem? — Dudley Miles (talk) 12:08, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- Dudley, links such as this have stopped working. I was warned months ago that wmflabs were going to be shut down. What I want to know is why tools.wmflabs.org/geohack, as used by coord, on the same server is still hacking away. I find this whole toolforge / wmfalbs rather complicated but I do intend to do something about it this matter soon. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:42, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. It will be a major problem if grid refs are permanently down as there are tens of thousands of links to them. Dudley Miles (talk) 22:17, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Nicolas Chaillan's page
Sir, The pages Nicolas Chaillan and Nicolas M. Chaillan used to exist but it seems it was deleted from Wikipedia (for unknown reason, as soon as he became the Chief Architect for the Department of Homeland Security by non U.S. Wikipedia reviewers). This is obviously quite concerning. Old page: here. Last Wall St Journal article. He has dozens of articles/interviews on Google.
Chaillan was the founder of 12 companies and then sold his last company to Qualys (publicly traded $3B) before becoming their CTO and then re-joining the U.S. Government as the first-ever Chief Software Officer for the U.S. Air Force manage their entire Software workforce and weapons systems, including DevSecOps and AI/ML.
He is also a member of the Forbes Technology Council and a Board Member of the Certified Ethical Hacker certification... This is quite significant and I would like to re-create the page but it seems it has been blocked and only administrators can do so. Can you please help? Thank you, JB — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeanbernard2019 (talk • contribs) 14:21, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- Learn to provide links to the actual article/s not some scraped version. "Unknown reason" indeed! - read this - each page has been deleted three times and there is a clear reason given in each deletion log entry.
- It may well be true that any future war will be won by the side with the better software so the comment made in the AfD "sounds like the kind of person from whom more will be heard in future years" may have proved true. I have not (yet) protected draft:Nicolas M. Chaillan but, given the past history, you probably have a CoI so rather than post your new text directly, it might be better to do so via a "sponsor". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:57, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Sir, I have created an initial draft and I'm now looking for a sponsor as well. Could you please let me know if the initial draft is pertinent enough to be published? I believe it meets all Wikipedia criteria. — Jeanbernard2019 (talk) 05:11, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

Deletion Soundarie David Rodrigo
Hello. Draft:Soundarie David Rodrigo the above page has been deleted for the reason that I have copied content from the following page. . What I have copied and pasted is the list of performances, how else should i list the performances? the only obvious format being the date and the name of the performances. how do you suggest I list this table? The person the page is about (Soundarie David) is the founder director of the Choir Soul Sounds (the website is about the choir) so naturally all of the performances done by the choir, were performed by Soundarie David Rodrigo too. Please help me cross this hurdle. — Kauchis (talk) 03:57, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Learn to provide wikilinks. I believe the rule book says that copying a list is not a copyvio. However the amount of list material in your article - with just one wikilink - was a blatant case of listcruft. So, simple solution: leave it out! You have provided a link to the list and that is sufficient. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:48, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your reply. Just to be clear. Do you recommend that I remove the list from the page? I can do that? will it be better then? — Kauchis (talk) 05:24, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

Proper Einstein deletion
Hey RHaworth. You recently deleted an article of mine called Proper Einstein. The first article was deleted 2 years ago but since then, the subject has been listed in other sources that established notability. Hey, I wanted to create this article and I noticed that there was one previously which you deleted. I was wondering if there is a chance to have it restored or if it's better to start from the scratch? — Suden13 (talk) 23:27, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
- Suden13, I earnestly entreat you to provide a wikilink whenever you talk about any page. In this case two links were needed. Also, it helps greatly if you provide accurate information. I have never touched Waldemar Marszałek. However the rules say that articles deleted as stale drafts are to be restored on request without question. So I have done so. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:02, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Most of the free time i keep studying about wikipedia. Recently when i tried opening this page, its existence have been deleted from everywhere. They are very famous rap group of our country, they have millions of views on internet & great fanbase. i wonder why it got deleted. After i came to knowledge that you have protected it i wanted to write few words requesting you to restore the page. "BeMyEye" page deletion - Umbe17
Hi you deleted my page called "BeMyEye" yesterday. Sorry, I'm quite new and don't know where to find the wikilink of the deleted page (however, you removed my page yesterday, so I guess you remember it). I read carefully all the Wikipedia rules and added ONLY external and verifiable sources, including sources coming from some of the most important newspapers in Italy ("Il sole24 ore", "Repubblica", "Vanity Fair"). By the way, there are many relevant sources in English too (e.g Techcrunch and others). Could you please advise about the deletion? Everything I have written on was linked to a specific source. Many thanks in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umbe17 (talk • contribs) 10:47, 20 June 2019 (UTC) ==

Why didn't you just fix it? — Metron (talk) 10:59, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Metron, you will learn better if you are made to do the job yourself. And so far you have not done it properly - db-move requires two parameters: name of page to be moved and reason for move. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:51, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
I don't know how to do it and it this is not a main concern for me. So this necessary move won't be made. Gratulations! (Must be a great feeling to demonstrate one`s superiority over other people). — Metron (talk) 07:53, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
- Metron, I have no desire to feel superior, rather I am very disappointed that you seem willing to remain inferior when coming up to my standard is so easy. I am rather surprised that my usual talk page stalker has not taken me to task: although the deletion reason given in this edit was wrong, you did make your wishes clear in the edit summary. But I am going to try again because understanding templates is a very useful skill for an editor. TripleLift, again
Hi. You had previously deleted TripleLift, then when I brought it up, you undeleted saying it was fine. You then, strangely, resubmitted it for deletion, saying "Non-notable company operating in a tiny niche market. References seem to be mostly to trade papers." This seems to be a biased and uninformed take. We operate in a $20B annual market, we are the market leaders for what we do, and we are regularly regarded as industry leaders. We've been among the fastest growing companies in America, in quantitative terms, several years in a row (as recognized by Deloitte, a well-regarded international audit and accounting firm). We make many hundreds of millions of dollars. Yes, this is my company, but I think the things you're saying are simply incorrect. If you'd like additional justifications about why it's notable, that's fine - but your assertion that it's not notable is less justifiable than my assertion that it is. Just yesterday I won an entrepreneur of the year award (from Ernst & Young) 1 for the company. Here's the link TripleLift. — ezberry (talk) 21:21, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- Do not mis-quote me. Where did I say or even imply that the article was fine? But why are you not thanking me? I admitted that mine might be a biased and uninformed take so I restored the article to get other people's opinions on the matter. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. Your best bet for getting a new article is to follow this advice. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:59, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

Excessive categories
Not sure what you're doing, the user that created said categories was blocked. — Cards84664 (talk) 20:44, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
- User:Cards84664, "said categories" - but you have not said which categories! Please look at the screenshot. This is what user:Davey2010 and I were seeing: an horrible black band on the left which meant I could not get at the "block this user link"! With the default skin this band leaves the links just visible as horrible dark blue on black. Curiously, with the Modern skin, it makes the links inaccessible. I replied to your complaint here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:29, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the ping - Exactly the same problems as RHaworth - I always use the contribs link on the left however where I've clicked on it previously it now means it's barely visible and it means I have to physically bring my face right up against the laptop screen just to see what it says!,
- The unclicked links are not all that visible either, My best suggestion would be to not have the black and blue stuff anywhere on your userpage. –Davey2010Talk 11:54, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
Note that I was not trying to obstruct a block link, the links were visible for me. I'm referring to categories like Category:Railway stations in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, each with only one page and little to no chance of adding more related pages. I find that Category:Defunct railway stations in Pennsylvania suffices as a result. Cards84664 (talk) 14:31, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

Object to relations being deleted
Hi there, Question about speedy deletion of object relations institute draft page. I am new to editing on Wikipedia and I created my first draft page today. As soon as I saved the draft, it was marked by you for speedy deletion. How will I be able to create an article if my drafts are deleted within an hour? Is there a different draft system I should use? Also, it is marked as deleted due to copyright infringement, but I used my own words to describe the institute. Additionally, I was not able to even create an entire draft. I'm learning how to do everything, including citations. I added in a citation but perhaps I didn't do it correctly.
I don't understand why a draft would be deleted. The reason I created a draft was so I could work on it and perfect it so it would not be deleted. When I did research, it said drafts can be saved for up to 6 months. I'm disappointed and discouraged as a new user, and unclear how to create and work on a draft. I would appreciate you giving me guidance on how I can create an actual draft that I can work on until completed. Thank you for your help. JungleTree (talk) 14:20, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
- "Click here" is awfully 20th century - people now recognise links. Also you need to learn the right format for a link. Yes, you do have six months to create a draft - providing it does not contain copyvio stuff. So guidance is simple: write entirely in your own words right from the start. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

He has said I have to discuss reopening the page with you - the conversation is here. Would you reinstate the page so I can update it with the new text? Or is there something else I need to do? Thanks again for all your help - Clarealev (talk) 13:42, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- Re-instated. I don't see much improvement so best of luck in your spamming. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:19, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Temper justice with mercy
Greetings! Please I just saw that my article was moved to the deletion log by you. This is my first article on Wikipedia after a 150 edits and I will be so encouraged and excited to have you help me get it to standard and have it approved. I apologize if there are rules I haven't kept in the course of developing the article and I promise to take your corrections. I'm teachable and a fast learner. Please I will be so glad if you can help brush me up as an editor. I would effect all that you recommend to put this article to an acceptable standard. Thanks for understanding. Ohanwe Emmanuel .I. Pixeom
Hi Roger, you have deleted the draft I made titled Draft:Pixeom. It is relating to an edge computing company which has been making steady progress. It has been tagged as advertising. I would like to know why it was deleted despite the references given. It would be great if you could guide me the correct way to submit this company page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akshay1514k (talk • contribs) 08:35, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- You have told me the deletion reason: advertising. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:06, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
I believe this page was parked in my subpages so that I could work on it when I got the time to. Unfortunately that hasn't happened in quite some time. I did think that was standard procedure though, so I do not understand the reason (Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service) that was cited for it's nomination and subsequent deletion, mainly because I can't see it. Mind either restoring it or sending me a copy? — Designsbyd (talk • global contribs • email) 11:27, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Text emailed. An unambiguous case of misusing Wikipedia as a free host. Staff lists are allowed but they should be limited to people about whom there are Wikipedia articles. Your list had just two such. By all means add those two to the SCI-Arc arcitle, if you can provide references. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:52, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
Substitute draft of Draft:Karen Dudley
Hi,
I have revisited my article using your advice from a few weeks ago.
I have eliminated the peacock language as well as the copyrighted material. Please let me know if it needs any more changes and what steps I should to take from here in order to submit my article for review: User:HeyitsBen/Subsitute draft of Karen Dudley.
Thank you -- HeyitsBen (talk) 13:14, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Why did you delete my bureaucratship request? It was not a tester or a hoax; it was a genuine request. It is just that I didn't know what it was talking about substituting a template that wasn't there. — WikiSmartLife (talk) 02:06, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Truly it is a wiki treason to do the right deed and give the wrong reason. A more realistick deletion reason for your page was simply: far too soon. It will be a useful exercise for you to answer the following question: never mind bureaucratship, what are the user names of the two most recent successful RfA applications? How long has each been an editor and how many edits has each done. If that does not give you the message, read the instructions in RfA carefully. But don't let me put you off continuing to edit. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:14, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
MvirDB deletion
Hello, I am requesting that the page be restored. I understand it was first requested to be deleted because of copyright violations. However, before deletion I had already edited it such that it was delivered in my own words. This page is part of my undergraduate project at my university. At the very least, grant me permission to rewrite it. Thank you. Huynhw1 (talk) 16:11, 2 July 2019 (UTC)huynhw1
- Learn to provide a link when you talk about any page and put new messages at the bottom of this page. Restored. I cannot see any copyvio and I would certainly like to hear from user:MDPMHG as to why it is an attack page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:53, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Help me write a better article
Hey, you deleted my article about Jocelyn A. Cooper, last week and stated your reason to do so as copyright infringement. what helped you determine this? was it my lack of references? was it my style of writing the facts? did you believe I stole someone else's work? As I've done my reading and due diligence on what is needed in a Wikipedia article, I am more prepared to rewrite this topic, but I want to know things that you look for when reviewing work so I can have a better understanding of the criteria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadwrotethat (talk • contribs) 17:49, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
- I did not delete draft:Jocelyn Cooper last week. Clearly you do not understand the meaning of the words "copyright infringement". Yes, stealing someone else's work is copyright infringement and you have clearly done so. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks this woman is notable and writes about her here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:53, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Advitya (2020 film)
This should be salted as well Advitya (2020 film). Thanks. On another note-right after you deleted User:Dreyoncooper he recreated it. Wgolf (talk) 21:11, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! (One pleasant surprise happened earlier-after I sent a COI notice and a guidance for younger editors-instead of contesting the deletion the person actually just blanked there page! Wow!) Wgolf (talk) 21:19, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Music F Fatafati
You have deleted my page. You have protected it too. But, it has coverage on 2 Business Standard (print media), 3 mxmindia, 4 indianblooms (via ibns). Two notable actor and actress were present at its logo launch. As far as I know, TV channel doesn't fall A7 criteria. So, please restore my page. -- S. M. Malvasia wine
Good morning, you've deleted my sandbox in violation of G11, I would really appreciated if you had send to me a message explaining how to edit it so that it would meet the Wikipedia criteria. It took me 2 hours to make it. I just want people to know about the true story of the Malvasia Wine. I could have removed any reference to the producer (even if they do in fact own the PDO for this wine), even if I saw in other pages that sometime they are named in the description, for example Vin Santo or Champagne. Please restore my sand box and explain me how to edit it so that it won't be deleted again. — Winelover10 (talk) 06:38, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of my pride and joy
EMU ROCK got reported by a random. Took me hours to make and distribute that song AND I even linked myself as the artist. What is going on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AidenIreland (talk • contribs)
- What is your definition of a "random"? Kindly have the decency to wait until someone who: knows how to create wikilinks, does not shout and has no coI, thinks your music is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:24, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
Just let me create a userpage in peace, team.
If I have the Wikipedia team's attention, my user page is supposed to be personal, not accused of being a web hosted service. If they really hate me that bad, the least they could do is tell me. But instead, they wrongly punished me by accusing me of using Wikipedia as a web hosting service. User pages are not meant to be treated like this. I was considering emailing Wikipedia a "You're the best website ever!" picture, but the fact that they're bullying me like this is making me change my mind. I've gone through too much pain as is, but if they're gonna delete my pages, then I'm gonna delete my account. If I want to give them another chance, I might make a new one. Emphasis on might. They've been torturing me so much that I might never return to wikipedia. — FrischAnimations (talk) 14:46, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Railway stations in Lebanon County
A tag has been placed on Category:Railway stations in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Talk! 02:52, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of my sandbox
Creating User:Abbycarroll/sandbox. My sandbox was deleted. I am confused as to why due to it being a private test ground ? I created it to test my main draft. Please undo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abbycarroll (talk • contribs)
- Please learn: new messages go at the bottom of this page; create a link whenever you talk about a page and sign your message with ~~~~. You do not need a test page for a draft! Do you understand how to read an edit history; to view a previous state of an article or how to read a "dif report" such as this one? Please reply. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:07, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Hi Rhaworth. Not sure if you saw WP:AN#Draft:Dujuan Thomas, but if you did then thanks for that. The draft was, however, also tagged for speedy because it contained some BLP violations, etc., but the creator removed the template. Perhaps John from Idegon's concerns were addressed, but it might be worth taking a closer look just to make sure. I'm not sure if a WP:REVDEL is necessary, and similar content was added to Mel B as well; so, maybe some additional cleanup will be needed there as well. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:13, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

I can do better
Hello admin! I had just created my very first article and it was deleted. I understand that I fell short of some standards which is as a result of my naivety as a rookie. Please temper justice with mercy and send me the deleted draft so I can make amendments. Would appreciate if the corrections can be stated so I effect it and would from the bottom of my heart appreciate mentorship from you as a legend with 15 years experience. Thanks for your kind consideration. Ohanwe Emmanuel .I. (talk) 22:49, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

Deleted article
Hi, I'm Silvia Bruni, I saw you deleted the article European Solidarity Corps, written in a course for Erasmus students at the University of Florence where I'm working. I would need some clarification. The European solidarity corps is an European initiative. The article was a simply description with many official sources as references. So I don't understand the motivation you mentioned for deleting it. Maybe it would have been better to discuss if the article could me improved before delete it. I hope we can talk about it and, if is possible, to publish a new version of the article. For the students who worked there it would be a satisfaction. I've sended also an e-mail, I'm sorry, I'm very protective of my students ;-). Silvia bruni1 (talk) 11:51, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- It depresses me when course tutors are unversed in Wikipedia ways. You need to learn to provide a link to any article you talk about and to read a deletion log entry carefully. The deletion log says: copyright violation. As long as an article contains copyvio stuff, an admin will zap it. It is up to the author to re-instate it with the offending bits removed. I have emailed you the text.
- Incidentally the article may still fail on notability grounds. One reason I am a fervent Brexiteer is based on this list of projects that I have helped finance and which appear to have made no impact anywhere. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:45, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
OS tool thingamabob
Hi - I was looking at List of Category A listed buildings in Moray (I'm gradually working my way through the list, writing articles about buildings that don't have one), and clicked on one of the OS numbers under the 'Grid Ref' column. I got this 503 'Service Unavailable' error - it says you're the maintainer of the tool, so I came here. Is this a temporary glitch, or is the tool no longer operational - in which case, should I remove all the links to it from the list? Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 17:49, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- Please do not delete the links. Please do pester me in a fortnight's time if I have not done something. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:19, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- OK, will do - I visit that list quite often, I'll check it periodically to see if it's fixed. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 07:36, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
Royal Monument of Manhattan
Hello RHaworth, I'd very much appreciate if you would send me the deleted article on the Royal Monument of Manhattan. This was posted by my son and he is currently hospitalized for mental illness. Any clues to what he was thinking are crucial. Thank you, Redbirdatdawn (talk) 21:27, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- Fascinating! Text emailed. I asume you have also seen Alban's user page. I hope the shrink will address Alban respectfully as "your royal highness". I even checked the proposed location of the monument, 30th St and 11th Ave - is it near where Alban lives? There is a gas station there which no-one would miss if it were replaced by the monument. Do let me know how things progress - probably better to do so by email. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:19, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Restore my page
Hey, I know why you deleted the page I created (Secret (Alli Fitz song)), and I wanted ask if you could restore it. I worked really hard on that page and I really don’t want to redo it. I was really thinking of making a page for the singer of it (Alli Fitz) the next day, so please restore it and give me at least 24h to make a page for Alli. Cold Alex (talk) 22:09, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
