Commons
Thank you for uploading free images/media such as File:Madison metro state st.jpg to Wikipedia! As you may know, there is another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view your previous uploads). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading! --Stefan2 (talk) 23:56, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. On "O&O" for subchannels in infoboxes
Yeah, Sinclair might own those subchannels, but that's excessive information for the infobox. In general, we've put too much in our infoboxes! I read MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE some time back, and it motivated me to constantly evaluate whether information is useful to the reader.
When considering any aspect of infobox design, keep in mind the purpose of an infobox: to summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article. ... The less information it contains, the more effectively it serves that purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance. Of necessity, some infoboxes contain more than just a few fields; however, wherever possible, present information in short form, and exclude any unnecessary content.
Telling someone that Comet is owned by Sinclair isn't terribly useful in WUCW, especially when the network article is linked right there. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 05:23, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Great Lake Fleet logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:Great Lake Fleet logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:17, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
Good afternoon from sunny Scotland. I have removed the tag you placed on this article as I did not think it was appropriate. The article is fully cited and there are no "general references". Each inline citation is a reference for the text in that paragraph it comes at the end of. A single paragraph could have one citation, there is no need to cite every sentence. Wrongly accused
I made a change to BBC BASIC. This article does need a bit of work as it has many issues. Last October I put a comment about my intention to clean it up and had no response.
I changed the Infobox. While I was doing my second edit your bot made assorted changes that caused my second edit to do very odd things so I reverted your bot. If your bot had not caused problems then I would have left its changes alone.
Your bot had changed sections elsewhere that I had not edited. It then accused me of failing to follow the MOS.
I am attempting to clean up this article. I have followed the proper steps. I am going to do more work to the article. I can never be as fast as a bot. A bot can never know that editing is a process "Do many small edits rather than one big edit".
I have had to interrupt my edits because of your bot. BlueWren0123 (talk) 05:25, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- @BlueWren0123 No intentions of stepping on your edits. Just a friendly notification. :) Cheers!Packerfan386beer here 05:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. Just got a grumble from a 2nd bot. I do not seem to be winning at the moment.
- I do not know what went wrong with the interaction, but after your bot my replacement to the lead that I had already checked earlier and was OK moved to the end of the Infobox. I have the text in .txt files ready to go. BlueWren0123 (talk) 05:42, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- I have put in my 5 prepared edits now. Took a lot longer then I anticipated and am going to pause now and treat my bruises.
- I know that I need to do some more tidy up (the History needs a short intro and some of the refs need to be repeated within History). But not today.
- As a purchaser of the products and a reader of the documentation and magazines, I know that there is a lot of OR and Off Topic stuff remaining. BlueWren0123 (talk) 06:32, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Script-assisted date audit and style fixes question
Hello, A little while ago you did an edit to Bouteloua dactyloides placing a "Use mdy dates" template. I'm curious how it is decided to use mdy vs dmy as I usually default to dmy on any page that uses a scientific name to be more in line with international science usage. If you had not placed that template I would have defaulted to that there as well, would I have been wrong? 🌿MtBotany (talk) 23:42, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- The date change was going off of Buffalo Grass being native to North America and its growing popularity as a turfgrass on this continent. But do feel free to change it to any Int'l standard that exists. Packerfan386beer here 23:20, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
