If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sudanese Women Empowerment for Peace requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://archive.maryknollogc.org/newsnotes/36.1/Sudan.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for contributing articles on Sudanese journalists such as Madiha Abdalla. Please remember that in Wikipedia we refer to people by their family name, not their given name. Please try to take a little more care about spelling and capital letters - I've tidied up that article a little. Thanks. PamD 10:26, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another point: do you mean that she works for "newspapers" (things like The Times or "newsletters" (usually the publication of a group, aimed at its own members). I didn't change this as I was not quite sure, but it is important to use the right word if she actually is a newspaper journalist. I know it must be difficult editing in a language which is not your first language. Thanks. PamD 10:28, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@PamD I know this is an old post but I do not think you were correct as the person is from a culture that doesn't use surnames, see also MOS:GIVENNAME FuzzyMagma (talk) 13:08, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't copy material you find elsewhere online

[edit]

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am a Wikipedia administrator. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the copyright policy of this website to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. The Wikipedia copyright policy and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policy. There's a simplified version of our copyright rules at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Further copyright issues will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:50, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For WikiGap Challenge 2020, the first prize is to go to Geneva and visit UN Human Rights. Writing one of the bonus points articles, about women active in human rights, yields double points in the competition. I hope you join this year too! Your draft article, Draft:Mayom Declaration

[edit]

Hello, Ola.mahadi. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Mayom Declaration".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hello and thanks for your edit

[edit]

Hello Ola.mahadi, thanks for reading and adding an infobox to my article about Mohammed Altoum. As you can see from my personal page, I have written quite a lot of articles about culture in Sudan. This is my main interest, and I usually do research on the Internet for my articles, but I also lived in Khartoum from 2014-2018. Now I am retired from working life, and am happy to share any information on how to write good articles in English with you or any other Wikipedian writing about Sudan. If you like, I can also review your draft articles before you publish them in the mainspace. You can just send me the link to your drafts, I can then make any changes or comments and you can see, what I changed. - Don't worry about difficulties in the beginning, I had to learn a lot during my first two years at WP, too, and I am learning new information every day. BTW, I am German, but prefer to write in English. Best regards to you and the other Wikipedians in Khartoum, Munfarid1 (talk) 14:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Yusria Mohammed Alhassan

[edit]

Hello again, I have just read and made some improvements to your draft article Draft:Yusria Mohammed Alhassan . In order to be of any use for English speaking readers of the wp, you need at least one or two sources in English. Otherwise, an article may not fulfil the requirement of notability and will not qualify for publishing. Please see WP:N and Help:Your first article

In general, try to do your research on a topic first, and then try to start writing a draft article that will fulfill the basic requirements of wp. Good luck, Munfarid1 (talk) 15:46, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Article about Fatima Musbah Abbas

[edit]

Hello Ola.Mahadi, on March 11, I created an article on the English WP on Sudanese scientist Fatima Musbah Abbas. As there seem to be not enough sources for this, the article has been proposed for deletion. This could occur on March 19, so if you want to translate this article into Arabic, this would be the deadline to do this. I believe the Arabic WP has different rules for notability, and you might even be able to find more sources in Arabic. - Best regards to all at the active Sudan WP Group, Munfarid1 (talk) 22:35, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
