It is definitely lacking in sources, and in my opinion isn't worthy of a B class rating even if it did have them, but have you found in the past that adding literally 40 'citation needed' tags to an article has a positive outcome? I really don't see its current state as encouraging editors to fix it, which is the whole point of tagging. Crowsus (talk) 01:10, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Crowsus: I don't expect all tags to be replaced, but at least a handful. It's more of a "blunt statement", to show that every sentence should be sourced. Leaving things as they were made it seem as if the state of the article was acceptable, which it wasn't. Nehme1499 01:28, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- Please see WP:Citation needed#When to use this tag bullet point 1:
Tag thoughtfully. Avoid "hit-and-run" or pointed tagging.
; - and WP:Citation needed#When not to use this tag bullet point 8:
A reference at the end of a paragraph typically refers to the whole paragraph, and similarly a reference at the end of a sentence may almost always be taken as referring to the whole sentence. If a particular part of a sentence or paragraph seems to require a separate citation, or looks as if it may have been inserted into the text at a sentence or paragraph level, try to check the original reference rather than adding tags to text that may already be well referenced.
; - and WP:CITEFOOT:
If a word or phrase is particularly contentious, an inline citation may be added next to that word or phrase within the sentence, but it is usually sufficient to add the citation to the end of the clause, sentence, or paragraph, so long as it's clear which source supports which part of the text
; - and WP:MINREF, which restricts the requirement for inline citation to contentious BLP, direct quotations, and material (likely to be) challenged, bearing in mind that drive-by blanking or tagbombing doesn't tend to be seen as genuine challenging;
- and its subsection WP:CITEDENSE:
Wikipedia does not have a "one inline citation per sentence" or "one citation per paragraph" rule, even for featured articles.
- What that lot comes down to is, no, there is nothing in Wikipedia policy or guidelines that requires every sentence to be inline-sourced. And Crowsus is right that tagbombing is more likely to discourage than encourage other editors to "help" add sources, and it certainly spoils the experience for the reader. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:29, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Struway2: I've been made aware here that every sentence needs to be sourced (
Always try to ensure that a paragraph ends with a source, even if the source is included further on in the text. Otherwise it appears to the reader as though the information is unsourced
). Also, what's your alternative? Keeping the article as it is, without correct sourcing? Plus, since I've added the tags, multiple people have added sources to the unsourced sentences, so if anything it does help. Nehme1499 15:42, 16 August 2021 (UTC)- "Here" is a peer review prior to nominating for FA. Even for FA, it isn't a requirement to source every sentence, so long as it's clear what the source is for any given sentence. Successive sentences in a paragraph, followed by an appropriate source that verifies them all, is explicitly what your talk-quote permits. My alternative, if I was interested enough in a particular article, would be to start off by using the online sources already present to inline-cite what was verifiable from those, which I'm guessing would be quite a lot of this particular article, before asking for help from others. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:01, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi there! I wanted to know what is the standard template used for a national football team page's results section? The template on Indian national football team has been edited saying that it's the new template, but according to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/National teams it's still the old one.

Reference on Italy National Team Article
Reference was required by Tbhotch who claimed that calling Italy "reigning" champions wasn't NPOV without a reference by a reliable source using that language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.178.111.153 (talk • contribs) 15:15, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- I disagree; the fact that Italy are reining champions is a fact, and a valid statement to add to the lead. Also, statements in the lead don't need sourcing if already sourced in the main body of the article. Nehme1499 15:18, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- I completely agree with you, I'm just letting you know why the reference is there in the first place. If you look there's been a bit of an edit war over it, so I included the reference to put an end to it. 24.178.111.153 (talk) 15:24, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Some assistance with information
Hi Nehme1499, I am creating the roster pages for the squads of the football 5-a-side in the current Paralympics, and for some players I can't find their position. I was wondering if you could have a look in Arabic to see if you can find the positions for the players missing it on Template:2020 Summer Paralympics Morocco football 5-a-side team roster (the info is from here but I can't find positions on the site). Thanks, --SuperJew (talk) 17:48, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- @SuperJew: I'm finding it a bit difficult to understand the positions. The Olympics use GK and B1, shouldn't we also be using those? Nehme1499 18:25, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- The B1 is the disability classification (there is also B2 and B3 but they aren't used in 5-a-side football, but you can see it in goalball for example). --SuperJew (talk) 18:44, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- @SuperJew: The best I could find are these two articles ([1], [2]), which just list the players without positions. There doesn't seem to be good coverage on the topic. Nehme1499 18:58, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you so much for looking! Yes, unfortunately the Paralympics isn't covered nearly as well as the Olympics... --SuperJew (talk) 19:09, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Recentism in Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/National teams
Hi,
I saw that you removed the key to the Recent Call-ups and wanted to know why you believe recentism applies? The key indicates the reason that the player has been removed from the squad, not that the player is injured at this present moment - which would indeed violate recentism.
Cheers,

Sahi
Hello Nehme! I saw the good work you did for finding out the real name of Fabrice Sambu. Could you do the same for Moise Dion Sahi? His name is also unclear. Thanks! Paul Vaurie (talk) 04:39, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Paul Vaurie: I think the way the info is presented works. Nehme1499 11:33, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
Hello. Is it really necessary to write Serie A twice in the opening line? And also why should we add a sub-paragraph for his loan to Sampdoria? What if he will have four more loans, there shouldn’t a sub-paragraph everytime only to write a line saying he has been loaned, and no other info.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 15:57, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- @8Dodo8: The subsection will obviously be expanded with time, as he makes more appearances. It's incorrect to put his Sampdoria career info under "Juventus" imo. Nehme1499 18:49, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- I respect your view on this, but from what I recall from other pages most of them either put the info in the same sub-paragraph with the parent club or add it as a sub-sub-paragraph (four equal symbols). He is a defender so I don t think there will be much info to add.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 19:45, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- @8Dodo8: His debut, his first-minute debut, his first goal, his total apps, etc.. I think there is enough for one or two good paragraphs. Nehme1499 20:22, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

This is the kind of project that I am interested in. I do have a question. The article A.F.C. Are there any more reliable sources for non-league clubs? --dashiellx (talk) 13:19, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Your revert on WP:FPL re: USL Super League
Thanks for WP:BRD; I've started a section at WT:FPL which you are more than welcome to contribute! Also wanted to briefly explain that I didn't start a discussion initially because the sources are so clear-cut in that specific case, and because the guidelines say that discussions are recommended but not necessary. However, happy to follow BRD since you disagreed. Seany91 (talk) 12:33, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
Professional
Hello Nehme. On Pilar Khoury, I said that she was a "professional" footballer because that's what I was led to believe the consensus was on WT:FOOTY; a professional footballer is any footballer that has playing football as their actual job. Khoury also plays at a national level in France and for the national team of Lebanon. It's appropriate to write "professional", imo. But you can bring it up to the WikiProject if you wish. Amad Diallo / MOS national cup note
Hi Nehme1499 - Not only did you start an edit war on Amad Diallo but you need to bring up a discussion on the wikiproject talk page before adding content to the MOS. The onus is not on me to start a discussion about it as I am the one following the approved MOS. You are trying to make a change so you need to bring it up for discussion. Furthermore, national cup and league cup columns are very self explanatory so do not require notes. Continental and Other columns are more vague so require in-line notes. Rupert1904 (talk) 17:18, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi again Nehme1499, please stop your disruptive edits and edit warring as you have exhibited on Al Ahed FC and Hassan Maatouk articles. You are purposefully going against the MOS and are unwilling to explain why. The ball is in your court if you are trying to change the MOS. I am simply following it. Rupert1904 (talk) 23:56, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- Are you really just going to follow my edits, keep reverting and disregarding the MOS with no explanation? Rupert1904 (talk) 00:02, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
- Per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players:
This page provides a suggested layout for footballer biographies [...] nothing is set in stone
. Are you really just going to follow my edits?
Is this a joke or are you being purposefully stubborn? If anything, you editing three of the pages included in the "Top edited pages" table in my userpage is "following", not the other way around. A Lebanese editor having Lebanese clubs under their watchlist makes sense, whereas you making your first edits on those three pages is just you trying to prove a point with me. Hi Nehme, just thought I'd flag that Hala Zakaria Mostafi, Rania Babker Babo Amer, Najlaa Saleh and Nariman Lino Joseph were all recreated just now. Do the newly added sources now verify that they have international caps? From the passages that I could run through Google Translate, I couldn't locate their names but there are such images with Arabic text which may contain the answers. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 10:25, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Spiderone: The social media posts with the line-ups do include players such as "Hala" and "Najlaa", but they just say their first names. There is no way for us to confirm that "Hala" is Hala Zakaria Mostafi born on 31 July 1990 who plays as a midfielder. It's clear that the article creator knows the players personally, because their full names and dates of birth are not available online. Nehme1499 15:37, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Done - edit summaries hidden and pages protected. However a few realities for you - this editor will probably just find ways to harass you on other pages; they are probably doing it because you are making a big deal out of it (and for what it's worth you can't easily tell it's your first name); you need to keep a track of all IPs used and request a wide range block; I am not probably not going to be around as much as I have been recently for the next few weeks/months so you will need to use other channels for help when I'm not around. It's very lucky I decided to pop back on tonight! GiantSnowman 22:26, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Another Italian football article that be improved
Italy national under-23 football team I think could be improved what do you think? Dwanyewest (talk) 20:24, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Dwanyewest: I have no problem improving articles; however, since you are the one who created the article, I'm not sure I feel very comfortable with this behaviour. Essentially, you created a 1 line stub, and are delegating the "actual" creation of the article to someone else. I've cleaned up the article to a basic standard, though you can easily expand it using information present in the it.wiki article. Nehme1499 21:33, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

Hady Ghandour
Such black and white rules don't always exist or are practical. However, in my view, the guide should be 'how would the player be described if they never played international football?' - if that is different to their sporting nationality, omit it (like Ghandour); if it's the same (Sterling and Haaland) include it. GiantSnowman 17:45, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Understood, but it's simply not the same as Sterling or Haaland. It's no different to one of the many English-born players who play from a young age for Wales/Scotland/Ireland... GiantSnowman 19:19, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Are you saying that if Ghandour had not played for Lebanon under-15s he now wouldn't be a professional at Charlton?! You've asked for a "black and white" rule - I have suggested one - you have rejected it. Why? GiantSnowman 19:35, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Hey mate,
Just thinking as we're now looking to close off international careers before a player's retirement, do you feel that we should amend the key to the following (or something to this effect):
- Players in bold are still active with the national team.
- Players in italics are still active at club level.
Let me know if you feel that it'd be worth a discussion.
Felixsv7 (talk) 15:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Felixsv7: I'm neither for nor against, though for us to determine whether a player is active at club level is OR, I think. We'd need to individually source each player to prove that they are still active, just not at the international level. Nehme1499 16:39, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Give you a few minutes
I'm going to give you a few minutes to revert yourself at Phonk so that you are not in violation of WP:3RR. Otherwise, I will write up a report about your reverts at WP:ANEW, which usually results in a block. Binksternet (talk) 20:27, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Binksternet: WP:BRD: you were bold, I reverted, you should have opened a discussion, which you didn't. Instead, your decided approach was to template a regular editor, great. My reverts of the IP's edits were not "content dispute", as they were just adding unsourced information. I don't count those towards 3RR. Your constant removal of sourced information is baseless; you should have opened a discussion (either here or on the article talk page). Nehme1499 20:29, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

- The discussion is already there (see Talk:Phonk). Binksternet initially removed content on the basis that yokai is unreliable. Ok, great, I haven't added Yokai's stuff. However, the edit I made today has nothing to do with that! There are a different set of sources (all reliable). Also, just because there are red links, doesn't mean that the names should be completely removed from the article! If it's deemed that there is no basis for an article, then just unlink them; the names are still relevant to the topic of “phonk”, even if they don't have individual articles. Nehme1499 13:40, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- The guideline WP:LISTPEOPLE supports removal of non-notable names. It streamlines the prose.
- If someone played a crucial role in a musical genre then they should have a Wikipedia article written about them because of their wide influence. Writing those articles (and having them survive WP:AFD) will get the disputed names back in. Binksternet (talk) 14:17, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Levantine template
Thanks a lot for the template! By the way I think you need to edit this to make your translations available across all Wikimedia projects. A455bcd9 (talk) 13:08, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- I did it but it doesn't work because apc isn't enabled on TranslateWiki. On the other hand, ajp is. Also if you want to contribute, we're (re)starting the Shami Wikipedia: any contribution is more than welcome! A455bcd9 (talk) 13:16, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Nice work! Any reason why you preferred to use ajp rather than apc? NL has double the amount of speakers SL has. Also, "shami" is almost synonymous with Syrian (so, NL), as opposed to Palestinian. It's unfortunate Levantine doesn't have it's own code. Nehme1499 14:11, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- A455bcd9. Nehme1499 14:11, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- The idea would be to have both ajp and apc on the ajp Wikipedia, because the differences between the dialects, when written in the Arabic script, are not that important (like between European and Brazilian Portuguese). We chose the ajp code because... the ajp test Wikipedia was already there and looked nice. And there was a lot of technical work to do to enable the language code. And participants in the project are mostly Palestinians and Jordanians. In any case, all Levantine speakers are welcome to contribute in their own variety (rural, urban, Palestine, Lebanon, etc.).
- Also, I submitted a proposal in December 2021 (together with 2 linguists, including one Palestinian native speaker) to the ISO standard to merge apc and ajp into a single "Levantine" language code. We'll see if they accept our proposal... It would simplify things a lot :) A455bcd9 (talk) 14:37, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- @A455bcd9: Hopefully the proposal goes through :) Nehme1499 15:16, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- @A455bcd9: While I think it's a very nice concept, I'm not sure how we can uniform the language. I agree that a lot of differences boil down to pronunciation (of a word written the same way in Arabic script), but there are quite a few other grammatical differences between speakers of the region: someone might say "ana ma akalet" (I didn't eat), others "ana akaltish". Some might say "shu" (what), others "esh", and so on. There's no need for me to lecture you, as I'm sure you know quite a lot about this. How do you think this issue should be dealt with? Nehme1499 15:36, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- What's your question: how can we deal with different varieties on the same Wikipedia? This will be up to contributors to decide (I don't speak well enough, I only set up things so that native speakers can contribute). If they think the differences are too important then different Wikipedia will be used. But because the written language is more formal and declarative I think there should be fewer problems. For instance "shu" and "esh" wouldn't appear anyway. Then some convention can be used. The problem also exists here to a certain extent btw (cf. MOS:ENGVAR) and people manage it reasonably well. If you want to contribute to a separate apc Wikipedia feel free to do so here! A455bcd9 (talk) 15:53, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Lebanese Romanization of the Little Prince
Hi, Apparently WP:TRANSCRIPTION is not considered original research. So if you could add the Arabizi (with numbers for instance) of the Little Prince text it would be awesome. Edit-warring over a comma?
So, you're edit-warring over a comma at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti – a single comma! Do you really think that that is worthwhile? Is there really no other defect or lacuna anywhere in the encyclopaedia that you could work to correct? You cite MOS:DIGITS, but seem to have forgotten to read it yourself; here's the relevant bit: "Numbers with exactly four digits left of the decimal point may optionally be grouped (either 1,250 or 1250)". Isn't that clear enough? What you may not be aware of is that in Italian usage the comma is the decimal separator (a full-stop is the thousands separator), meaning that in a page most likely to be read by speakers of Italian, the fewer unnecessary such commas there are, the better. Would you kindly undo your mistaken revert? Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:21, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Justlettersandnumbers: Maybe looking to improve the article, that has uncited sentences, a poor citation format and needs cleanup, along with generally needing expansion (possibly using the Italian Wikipedia article as a reference) are more pressing issues to take care of, I believe, rather than being offended by the addition of a comma. Also, please remember that this is the English Wikipedia, not the Italian one, so Italian convention regarding numbers is irrelevant here. Nehme1499 00:00, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

Hey,
The changes that you've made to the columning on the Records section now bunch the two tables next to each other rather than separating them evenly on the page. Why do you think that this is an improvement on the previous col-?
Cheers,
Felixsv7 (talk) 13:59, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Felixsv7: Because col didn't account for the width of the device. On mobile view, you would be forced to scroll horizontally in order to view the table on the right. Now, if the two tables don't fix next to each other on a narrow screen, the second table goes below the first one, while they stay next to each other on wider screens (desktop for e.g.). Nehme1499 14:03, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
- Is there a way of more evenly spacing them for desktop viewing rather than having them immediately adjacent? Felixsv7 (talk) 14:10, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
Paulo Dybala
Recently on Paulo Dybala's article you have reverted my edit that put the timespan of his career at 2015-2022, despite the fact that he confirmed that he's leaving the club. And if you check the view history, you can see that the user Dr Salvus was basically being a textbook warmonger. You'd do yourself a pleasure by self-reverting your edit. Fijipedia (talk) 22:24, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Fijipedia he can still renew (I hope so, knowing it won't happen). And that edit you'd pointed out at Paul Pogba (one I don't want to be at Juve) is wrong. And Dybala's contract is ending on 30 June. Wait for Inter to officialise him. Dr Salvus 22:32, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus It's not just Pogba. Players such as Tchouameni and Nunez (leaving for Real Madrid and Liverpool respectively) have their current club start shown as 2020 and end as 2022. No need to break Wikipedia norms. Also, why are you even here and a completely different user's talk page. Is this your second account or something? If that's the case, I think this account's revert on Dybala's article breaks Wikipedia policy. If not, you shouldn't even be here. Fijipedia (talk) 22:52, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus On top of that, it is said in the body of the article that "Dybala played his final home match for Juventus on 16 May 2022 against Lazio, being substituted by Martin Palumbo in the 78th minute, for which he received a standing ovation." What's the point of reverting my edits if the body directly supports my claim? Fijipedia (talk) 22:56, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Fijipedia Nuñez and Tchouameni have arleady signed with their respective new teams, but Dybala hasn't yet. That's the rule and someone else would have reverted the edits. Then, you did ping me, so I knew your comment. The sentence about Dybala's last Juventus game may be notable for the standing ovation received, which no one can ever cancel. And no, we are not the same person at all.
- To conclude, this talk page is no place to discuss about. Do something at Wt:footy instead. Dr Salvus 23:27, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Fijipedia: Dybala will leave Juventus (future tense): ergo, he hasn't yet left. Wait until 1 July to make changes. Nehme1499 23:50, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

I have read your comments at COIN, but that was not why I was placing {{uw-coi}} here - it was to ensure that you are aware of what conflicts of interest are and when you are required to make disclosures. Mustafa Saadoun
Hi Nehme, I hope you're well. Regarding Mustafa Saadoun, is there established consensus for whether playing for a club at youth level means the player is included in the players category for that club? I note, for example, that Harry Kane played for Arsenal at youth level but is not in the Arsenal F.C. players category. Likewise, Ryan Giggs played for Man City at youth level but is not in Manchester City F.C. players category. Thanks, Hashim-afc (talk) 02:38, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Hashim-afc, check this discussion. See comments such as:
- I see no problems with including youth players in the parent category, which is what we currently do.
- The main category has always been used for any player who is on the club's books, even at youth level.
- As far as I am aware the current set-up is that we have a single category per club, and into that we put everyone who was with that club as a player, be that as a youth or an adult.
- As far as I'm concerned, I would not put youth players in the senior category. But it seems to be the current status quo, so unless we have another discussion this is how I would procede for now. Nehme1499 11:49, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
FC LYON
Hello Nehme, I made that edit on the FC Lyon category because it’s a sports club with several sports, and I specified what “players” meant– specifically footballers. Ideally, the category should be renamed. Paul Vaurie (talk) 22:24, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Paul Vaurie: My bad, I think Wikipedia messed up on my end. When viewing the dif it showed me as if you had copied and pasted Marvin Tshibuabua's article onto the category page. Anyway, I would keep the template and request a rename into Category:FC Lyon footballers. Nehme1499 22:27, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

A humble request
Hello Nehme, I hope you're well & contributing tremendously. Here on the page, Mohammedan SC (Kolkata), Mr. Debankan Mullick made a ton of edits, removing important data, records, file–images, citations and others, without mentioning edit summaries. According to me (who, within a year or more than that, contributed neutral data, references, and things related to the club), those edits (few of those, are acceptable; others are synonymous of vandalism) predominantly made the article poor, inappropriate, and "damaged". I'm requesting you, if possible, please take a look on those happenings, and fix/restore all necessary data and references, to make the article "healthy". Thanking you a lot at the end & keep smiling :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Billjones94 (talk • contribs)

Good Article Reassessment
Nehme1499, the Sudan women's national football team article is currently undergoing a GA reassessment, which can be found at Talk:Sudan women's national football team/GA3. It seems likely that, absent someone knowledgeable who is able to work on the issues raised, the article will be delisted from being a Good Article in early August. If you are able to stop by and improve the article per the reassessment, it could retain its GA status. Thank you for your past work on the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:45, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

1963 Arab Cup squads
I know you reverted my edition because it was according to RSSSF. But that same source (RSSSF) also said "Note: it is possible that Samik Bechkejian played instead of Samik Sabkadjian.". KoreanDragon (talk) 08:07, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @KoreanDragon: True, but it says "it's possible". Both players exist, it's just that RSSSF isn't sure which one was at the Arab Cup. FA Lebanon doesn't have info on the 1963 Arab Cup so we can't use it to determine the names of the players at that competition. Nehme1499 10:45, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- FA Lebanon actually has data about the competition, but i had to check the single profiles of the players (where it says the competition they played), since it requires to log in for the tournament information. KoreanDragon (talk) 11:36, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @KoreanDragon: FA Lebanon will migrate to a new website (relatively) soon, so I'd wait until then. Nehme1499 11:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Changes?
I must have supposed that you could revert the edition... but what "established format" are you talking about? In the debate that you opened yourself (this) most of the editors agreed that this stupid color scheme could be avoided. Therefore don't cite "established format" when you are the only one that persist on using the unuseful light blue. Fma12 (talk) 16:53, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Fma12:
- Kante4:
Agree with the overkill with the icons and as a whole it's not an improvement, tbh
- Lee Vilenski:
I'm not a fan of either if I'm honest
- Spike 'em:
I prefer the before table, though could ditch the coloured rows
- Kante4:
- The consensus seems to be to keep the established format removing the colours, not to overhaul the whole format. Nehme1499 17:21, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Lee Vilenski: I'm not a fan of either if I'm honest (?)
- Kante4: Agree with the overkill with the icons ... (but the current table depict both, an excessive amount of flag icons and the unncessary addition of light blue).
- I don't see consensus has been so categorical, nevertheless I'm going to remove the pointless color scheme. Fma12 (talk) 18:45, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Juventus U23 new (horrendous) name
Why not doing what's being done at it.wiki? Dr Salvus 19:53, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

Monza–Juventus
Monza's first Serie A victory (but the players clearly boycotted Allegri) is always notable and will remain in Monza's history for ever. Don't understand why it could be a WP:RECENTISM.
Off topic question: who did you support beetween them? Despite the results, Stroppa's ball is not bad. Everyone can be better than acciuga. Dr Salvus 18:34, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: True, maybe recentism isn't the correct word I was looking for. In general, I don't like writing things as they happen time by time, as you risk to write a series of "on [date 1], this happened. on [date 2], this other thing happened, etc...". I'd rather wait until the end and write a better-flowing summary. Anyway, I've restored the mention of the win; I'll rewrite the section at the end of the season anyway.
- Stroppa is an Allegri 0.5. Pass the ball from the GK to the CB, LB, CB, back to the GK and repeat. I think I lost the passion I had for Juve in the 2011–2017 period. Monza has kind of filled in that gap in the past 3-ish years. Nehme1499 18:53, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- I am in the same situation. I too lost the passion I had for Juventus. I no more celebrate Juventus goals and have recently started supporting for the opponents to see Allegri sacked.
- Hopefully, I have always had some interest for Juventus U23 which has grown with the time. However, I can never see their matches because they are not free-to-air.
- I am obsessed with Juventus U19, trained divinely by Montero. In this season, I have seen every minute of Juventus U19 matches (except for a match). You do should watch their matches, they are the only team that can make me rejoice. I also try to be informed as much as possible on lower youth teams of Juventus and Italy. - @Dwanyewest: I think that List of foreign Serie A (women's football) players should be more similar to List of foreign Serie A players. Ranocchia and Juventus Next Gen
(I still keep watching the best loaned Juventus footballers pages), how do you get to encounter footballers as you did at Filippo Ranocchia? Then, to reduce that potential huge list at Juventus Next Gen, what about inserting the players who have had more than x first-team appearances? Dr Salvus 11:00, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: I just happened to bump into him in Monza after the game vs Milan. Looking at FC Barcelona Atlètic and Real Madrid Castilla, they seem to have fixed 100 top-division games and/or 1 national team game. Maybe we can re-add the list for now with 1 top-division/national team game, and then, in the future, restrict it further by increasing the games. Nehme1499 11:21, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

. I mean, he moved for footballing reasons, of course he's without his family. And what does COVID have to do with anything? Or for example,[...] and two minutes after the Milik goal, he crossed for Matías Soulé, from which Weston McKennie scored the definitive 4–3

(Italian sentence structure). He made his Mallorca first-team manager in June 2020
(manager?). There is way too much detail, there is no need to talk about all the youth teams, or specify that he made his debut in June 2020 specifically. He's still 17: what will the lead look like when he's 30 if we continue like this? Nehme1499 10:50, 11 November 2022 (UTC)- I am more arrogant than I think. At school I don't even manage to get a mark superior to 8.5/10 in English. I should be reading more leads in young footballers' articles.

Amad Diallo
He made 8 senior appearances in 2020-21 season for Man Utd - having already spent 2 seasons with Atlanta's senior career. In what way was he a Man Utd youth player in 2021-22? GiantSnowman 21:37, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- He signed for Man Utd in January 2021. His article says "He was first called up to the senior team on 9 February [2021] [...] on 18 February [2021], Diallo made his first-team debut for United" - so immediately involved with the first team! GiantSnowman 21:41, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
No consensus
per the 2020 RfC. Please maintain the stable version of the article. Fyi, Diallo played more youth games (5) for United than he did Premier League games (3). He also played the youth games as an 18-19 year old, not as a 30 year old coming back from injury. Nehme1499 22:58, 11 November 2022 (UTC)- (talk page stalker) I don't like not considering him as a youth player either but think of minor nations (such as your Lebanon) in which not much information on youth careers is known. Dr Salvus 23:10, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- We include information based on reliable sources anyway. If sources are not available, we don't add the information. Nehme1499 23:31, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- How do you determine whether x has ended his youth career or not?
- You can do it because the player was in England. How do you manage to know when an anonymous Lebanese player played his last non-senior match without using Trasfermarkt (does it even cover the Lebanese youth league?) Dr Salvus 23:40, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't have to determine anything on my own. I just report what sources say. If they state that a given Lebanese player was a youth player for a certain club, without specifying the year range, I don't add years. Nehme1499 23:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes - and the sources say he began his senior career with Man Utd in February 2021, after signing for them in January 2021. the fact he might also have appeared for the youth team does not matter. Players of any age can appear for Premier League youth teams, see this. GiantSnowman 07:58, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Please refer to my comment above. Diallo was an 18-year old player, not an overage player recovering from injury. And as I (and countless others) have stated before: one does not exclude the other. A player can play both at youth and senior level at the same time. Same as someone playing internationally at both U21 and senior level, or someone playing for both Juventus F.C. and Juventus Next Gen. It doesn't make sense to say "once he makes his first minute of senior play, he automatically can not be considered a youth player". What about cases such as Jacopo Surricchio? According to you, he should be considered a Roma senior player, just because he played eight(!) minutes of third-division football aged 15, and was signed to Roma's under-17s (not even under-19s!). Nehme1499 11:57, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Would suggest this be discussed at WT:FOOTY. We may find other opinions. Dr Salvus 11:59, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- If anything, a second RfC should be opened. Nehme1499 11:59, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Surricchio seems to be able to make his Roma debut (he managed to play in Serie C at 15). What about Arnel Jakupović? Empoli gave him to Juventus on a six-month loan in January 2018. As far as I remember, he was never called up to Juventus first-team and played as a overage player for Juventus U19. He'd already debuted earlier in senior football but he can not be considered as a Juventus first-team player.
- There are pros and cons with both ideas. Dr Salvus 12:21, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- "Seems able" and "played" are very different. He is nowhere near making his first-team debut for Roma in the Serie A. Calling him a senior player for Roma is ridiculous. And, if anything, your Jakupović further proves my point. Nehme1499 12:23, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- But I have to say that it is difficult to determine when a player ended his youth career in godforsaken countries or before the 1970s. Dr Salvus 13:05, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Per what I said above,
just report what sources say

The way you update things is by editing the GA nominee template on the article's talk page. It's especially important not to edit the GAN page directly since we've just gotten a new bot, and direct edits might cause issues with the bot. Thank you. Your GA nomination of Soony Saad
The article Soony Saad you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Soony Saad for comments about the article, and Talk:Soony Saad/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. TFL notification
Hi, Nehme1499. I'm just posting to let you know that List of international goals scored by Hassan Maatouk – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for January 27. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 22:23, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
DYK for Soony Saad
On 15 January 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Soony Saad, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Soony Saad (pictured) scored on his Major League Soccer debut on his 19th birthday? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Soony Saad. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Soony Saad), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

New section
Hi Nehme, congratulations for your work so far and keep it up!! You've probably noticed that I'm making new pages for football players in the Premier League of BiH, but since I don't have time and a lot of them were sent to "Draft" for references, could you fix something a little because you really know about it. Of course if it's not a problem User:Elektrotehnicar07 (talk) 17:48, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Domanda
Grazie in anticipo e buon wikilavoro. --SonoGrazy (talk) 20:49, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
--SonoGrazy (talk) 14:15, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- @SonoGrazy: Sì, esatto. Basta che soddisfi GNG. Nehme1499 14:22, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Categories
You create the category first and then add articles to it second, not vice versa. I have no way of being able to read your mind, so I don't know if you're actually creating the category immediately or if you're planning to just leave the redlink illegally loitering there for hours and hours like you did with the redlink on Joya Maria Azzi — but I must never, ever, ever look at any page and see any redlinked categories on it at all, because redlinked categories are disruptive to Wikipedia. So you create the category first, so that it's not a redlink when you add it to the page, because it's not my job to be able to read your mind about what you do or don't intend. Need a help regarding deleted pages
Bothering again, since you are semi-retired I am hesitant always. I need a little help with deleted page data. A lot happened in different Indian football articles between 2020-2023, and I was unable to response or edit since I was inactive for 2 years. India women u17 results, India u20 results & India u17 results were deleted per AfD. That's fine that they were deleted per consensus. But as you know these are statistical articles, and as I work mostly on statistics, these results and information are gold to me, which I have created and arranged with lot of effort and foolishly I did not keep any copy of these anywhere with me. Can the data be recovered or can I find the history of the page, or any sister page anywhere on web, from where I can get back those results and statistics, if so can you or anyone mail me, because I really need those results. Was going to ask @GiantSnowman:, but it seems he is on vacation. It will be a great help if I get those results and stats. Thank you. Drat8sub (talk) 08:14, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

Any prediction for the match
Hi, sorry to bother, it does not happen often that my country is facing the country of fellow wikipedian with whom I worked in various articles. Though not appropriate but still...So...quite excited what would be your prediction for the match. 2-0 or 2-1 India winning for me Drat8sub (talk) 13:41, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Drat8sub: hey, no worries. I think India will have the upper hand in the two games, considering they're playing at home and all. I believe we'll draw one game, and India will win one. I'm not feeling super confident about our team, especially in attack. Hope they prove me wrong. Nehme1499 13:45, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Honestly saying, I just want to see India converts the chances they make. India always plays good in midfield but final third is worse. We are worried about the finishing. 2 shot on goal out of 23 chances in last match, not a good scenerio for Asia Cup. Check for the player Chhangte and Sahal while watching, or Mahesh Singh and Apuia if get in as substitute, good players. I think Lebanon is not on full strength so far I know but Matar and Darwaich, these two players are exceptionally well.Drat8sub (talk) 13:57, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Drat8sub: Exactly as predicted, well deserved. Nehme1499 16:10, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- That's an intense match, both the team, we were just little better today. Truly speaking this is one the best match India played in last 1 decade. We are facing 3 more match again against Lebanon. Waiting for more drama in the pitch. SAFF...Merdeka...KingsCup waiting.. :) Drat8sub (talk) 16:14, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Drat8sub: Honestly, I don't remember ever seeing poorer displays from Lebanon than what I've seen in this tournament. We are not ready at all for the Asian Cup. Hopefully we sack this coach in time. Nehme1499 16:25, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

2023 SAFF Championship
Hi, you have to stop putting the name of the stadium in links : the rules of Wikipedia are simple 2023 SAFF Championship. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking : Read the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking : Generally, a link should appear only once in an article, but it may be repeated if helpful for readers, such as in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead. Repeating the name of the same stadium in the same city is useless. Pindrice (talk) 09:54, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Pindrice: You wrote it yourself:
it may be repeated if helpful for readers, such as in tables

Omar Bugiel nationality
Omar Bugiel is Lebanese from birth since his father holds Lebanese nationality. This is jus sanguinis. See Lebanese nationality law. In 2017 he obtained a Lebanese passport, not the Lebanese nationality. Frenchl (talk) 13:34, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Frenchl: I reverted back to your version as it's clearer. Though, having been born abroad the father would have had to complete the necessary paperwork to make Omar a Lebanese citizen. Lots of people "recuperate" their jus sanguinis nationality later in life. Jus sanguinis just means that their are "eligible" for citizenship upon birth, not they they are automatically citizens. Nehme1499 13:36, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- No, it is automatic at birth, there is no paperwork. Nationality is not a document. Frenchl (talk) 13:40, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- I am telling you from experience, paperwork is needed if you are born with another nationality (such as Bugiel being born German). Nehme1499 13:42, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Yes I made a mistake. I've checked some official texts and in Lebanon registration is needed. Jus sanguinis differs from a country to another, sometimes it's automatic, sometimes paperwork is mandatory. I apologize. Best regards. Frenchl (talk) 13:52, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Card information in football box
Template:Football box don't have card info mentioned in it. However, Template:Football box collapsible have the scope for adding card info atleast red cards which are rare. I can understand World Cups main pages don't have these info since supposed to be summarised but the information is put in details in sub pages. However, for small event like SAFF where sub pages are highly unlikely, is it not ok to put red card info since rare incidents. What do you think? Drat8sub (talk) 05:31, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- There is no consensus by the community about this, see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 149#Red cards in national cups. Nehme1499 07:22, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hmm, I can see, both the discussions seem futile. But however, it seems only one of the users was opposing the exclusion and rest all seems likely agreeing for inclusion. Except FIFA World Cup and continental tournament, where huge no. of matches are played, and highly competitive, red cards in matches are expected but in friendly tournament and small tournament red is a rare occurrence, and I think if sourced properly can be included, noting that one of the template have the sent off parameter. The user at the 2023 SAFF edition removed the sourced info twice for which I am not re-adding the card info, don't want to go in edit war, they have a tendency of edit war, but I think adding the card info is not harming the article anyway rather giving more insight. Request for review of a FLC Nom
I have nominated a List article at FLC, AIFF Player of the Year Awards. However, reviews by other editors have been done including the director at FLC Giants2008, I would still like to see you comments there. If you find something to be fixed, I will love to do that. Removal
If some articles have unsourced material, you can add the template:Citation needed to them instead of removing all the contents like you did here. I'm in the process of restoring that part and adding the respective sources. So please, don't remove that content again. Thank you. Fma12 (talk) 14:42, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Fma12: Don't call the content removal "unexplained", when I stated pretty clearly that it was unsourced. As long as the content is sourced, I won't remove anything. Next time, though, practice in your own sandbox before making the edit live. Nehme1499 14:49, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- The decission of practising in my own sandbox is on me, not you. I call my edit "unexplained" when the real word should have been "vandalism" but I did not want to be so though. The history section has a lot of wikiliks that prove themselves the content is reliable so such removal was, at least, misguided. Fma12 (talk) 15:09, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Fma12: Removing unsourced content is not vandalism, keeping it is. Also, see WP:CIRCULAR. Do whatever you want, as long as there isn't a block of unsourced content. Nehme1499 15:15, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- As I said you before, you should have put the "citation needed" tag and then (if nobody added a source in a specific amount of time) remove the content. But you chose the easiest option, which was on the verge of vandalism. WP:CIRCULAR does not apply here so the sources were indicated in the articles linked. Nevertheless, I added them to the history article.

- @Fma12: Removing unsourced content is not vandalism, keeping it is. Also, see WP:CIRCULAR. Do whatever you want, as long as there isn't a block of unsourced content. Nehme1499 15:15, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
DYK for Juventus Next Gen
On 28 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Juventus Next Gen, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Juventus's reserve team, Juventus U23, won their first trophy after only two years in existence? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Juventus Next Gen. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Juventus Next Gen), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Sock tagging
Can I ask why you're tagging an IP as a sock-blocked account when that IP isn't blocked, has never been blocked, and isn't an account? firefly ( t · c ) 20:40, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Firefly: See this. It's the same guy as all these IPs. Nehme1499 20:42, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Okay... but why are you tagging them? We don't tag IP user pages at all - see WP:SOCKTAG under "IP addresses". The template states
This account is a suspected sockpuppet of <master> and has been blocked indefinitely
. Neither bolded portion of that statement is correct here. Please stop tagging these. firefly ( t · c ) 20:49, 23 September 2023 (UTC)- @Firefly: I have been doing so based on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 162#Croatian IP, in which @GiantSnowman: came up with the idea to create Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Sportski recenzist. Nehme1499 20:54, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- That is… not the best solution. If we think these IPs are being used by this person, the best place to handle that is SPI - where rangeblocks, among other solutions, can be considered and we can build a log of sockpuppets without misapplying sock tags for the purpose. firefly ( t · c ) 21:06, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: what do you think? Nehme1499 21:25, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- IPs have been tagged for years, there used to be a dedicated template for it at {{IPsock}}. Logging IP addresses used by a sock master over time helps build a picture of the range for a range block. GiantSnowman 07:56, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman
Logging IP addresses used by a sock master over time helps build a picture of the range for a range block.
I completely agree, but the best way to do that is at SPI where evidence can be presented and a case history built. There was indeed an {{IPsock}} template, but it was deleted at MfD after a discussion at the SPI clerks' noticeboard precisely because it isn't particularly useful and was being misused, and the consensus was that there are much better ways to handle IP socking. - In this case we have IPs scattered all over a bunch of /16s, many of which haven't edited since 2020, some of which have one edit in something like 2017. They're mostly Hrvatski Telekom ranges with some A1 Hrvatska thrown in - I know nothing about that ISP, but they evidently have very dynamic assignment patterns, which makes tagging the individual IPs even less useful unfortunately.
- I think the best plan is to file a pro-forma SPI with the various ranges (I'll do that) for record keeping and so we can see if there's any benefit to rangeblocks (given the large ranges involved I am sceptical but haven't take a proper look) and then clean out the category (I'll do that once I've filed the SPI). firefly ( t · c ) 11:03, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Lebanon women's national under-20 football team
The article Lebanon women's national under-20 football team you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Lebanon women's national under-20 football team for comments about the article, and Talk:Lebanon women's national under-20 football team/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Wikipedia in Lebanese
Hello @Nehme1499! I know you are no longer very active here, but I was just wondering if you would be interested in contributing to a version of Wikipedia in Lebanese (Levantine Arabic), which is in the Wikimedia Incubator now. There is renewed interest in this project, and even a small number of edits per month would make a big difference. Here is a brief intro in English. Lebanon v Australia
Hey mate, Whenever you happen to drop in and see this. I was wondering why Lebanon chose to "host" their "home" game against Australia in Canberra (and not say Qatar or UAE) as this seems to give Australia a massive advantage (and tbh it's already quite a mismatch). Any insight? --SuperJew (talk) 08:09, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Listen here. How is EFL more reliable when that very source page is currently non-accessible? And there are many sites that confirm his full name. What is this? Rubenaf16 (talk) 18:05, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

Hey mate, this Aussie born footballer has been called-up to an international camp by Lebanon (thanks to her father) according to this recent source. Do you have any more info/sources about this or about the camp? Does it include any A friendlies? --SuperJew (talk) 09:34, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- We were supposed to host a friendly tournament (source) against Bangladesh, Jordan and Nepal, but it ended up being cancelled due to security concerns (source). Nehme1499 10:45, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info! Shame it was cancelled. Wonder if there's a replacement friendly as she does mention the possibility of playing a match. --SuperJew (talk) 12:32, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- I think we are still trying to arrange some friendlies, but no luck as of now. Nehme1499 12:56, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

Friendly question
Hey, Nehme! I wanted to write to you to ask you a question amicably. I've noticed you declared yourself "semi-retired" two years ago. Can I ask you what happened to you since then? I've always valued your editing style deeply and to be honest, the fact you're no more very active displeases me. Fond greetings :) Wikipediæ philosophia (talk) 22:21, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
