1961 Indian annexation of Goa
I understand that you blanked out entire portions of 1961 Indian annexation of Goa because it featured first hand information from a Portuguese military officer that did not fit in with your POV. Your excuse was that it relied on what you referred to as an 'iffy' and 'self published website'.
The information in question was taken from an interview with General Azaredo, published in O Expresso, a well known Portuguese journal in 2001(see http://www.teiaportuguesa.com/lusografo/india.htm and http://www.archive.today/PzSG8[dead link ] I have therefore taken the liberty to update the reference to the original text of the interview, along with a link to a translation.
I have also taken the liberty of undoing your patriotic act of blanking it out.
In the future, please do not blank out major portions of articles in this manner as it disrupts the flow and structure of the text. If you feel that a piece of information is not reliably sourced, consider looking for more reliable or original sources, or raise a flag on the sentence and wait for other editors to correct it.
- First drop your condescending tone and next enlighten yourself with wikipedia policies on WP:SPS, WP:NOR and WP:NPOV. Your POV tainted rubbish was removed and will again be removed for the same reasons which were mentioned in the edit summaries. Neelkamala (talk) 08:43, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Neelkamala, will deal with you on the presumption that you are acting in good faith and not a vandal. Please do not give me reason to suspect that you are a vandal.
First, I do not understand where the stuff you blanked out was POV rubbish. A piece that says that there were such and such numbers of POWs is POV rubbish? A piece that says that something called the Azad Gomantak Dal engaged in armed revolt is POV? A piece that says that Three light infantry battalions were transported to Goa is POV? A first hand account by Lieutenant Francisco Cabral Couto about POWs trying to escape is POV rubbish? have you seen what you blanked out?
Please check the stuff that you have blanked out (which I have reinserted) and ask yourself if any of this is POV. These are all important parts of the article that iMHO must be built on... not blanked out.
Before plunge headlong into an edit war, please see the changes I have made - where I have removed the original link to goancauses.com and replaced this with the original article published in the O Expresso.
I called your act patriotic, since I noticed how you removed only portions of the article that did not reflect well on one side in the conflict. I see that you left several parts intact - even though these were also referenced to the same iffy website - presumably since these did not counter your own POV. You are justified in thinking that I was condescending to you if you were unable to perceive my hint.Tigerassault (talk) 18:59, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Responded on talk page of article. Go read WP:RS and WP:SPS before edit-warring and trying to lecture others on editing when you dont know the difference between a reliable source and a propaganda piece. And keep the condescending tone to yourself and quit dirtying my userpage with your juvenile accusations of bias. If you have anything constructive to add regarding the article use the article's talkpage. Thanks. Neelkamala (talk) 06:17, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
