Notability of Hershey Country Club

A tag has been placed on Hershey Country Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -LelandRB (Chat · contribs) 23:16, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

List of UEFA Super Cup winners

I've noticed you've undone some of my changes, I would just like to point out a couple of things. The one long table thing is ok in principle but for the match in the middle I split it for, it was because the table headings don't apply. Who's the home team at a neutral venue. As for the c1. c2, c3 issue. Whilst it is explained how you qualify it doesn't identify which team is which. For the single match finals having the sortable c# field I put in allows a sort to see if winners of the champs league win the super cup more etc. Just thought I'd mentioned this, I hope we can work together and not trip over each other on this. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 13:07, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Whilst I would prefer to use just colours instead of the c# notation i'm not overly fond of WP:Colours doesn't allow info to only be conveyed with colour. The c# was the best notation I could think of. Feel free to use something better if you can think of it. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 13:21, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds good to me. Whatever symbol you want †, ¤, * and # are taken, but if you can find some other suitable ones thats fine. I just used the c's because it's kinda standard euro football notation for the cups. With the single matches in the double era, 1986 is the only problem one as it was held at a neutral venue. The others I've done in a way which hopefully adequately explains. I wouldn't move the 1986 match to the single match section as it stops them being default cronologically ordered. Is there any harm in having it split like I did before. It's not like it sorts anyway. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 13:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll agree to disagree. I personally think it would be okay to split it, as it gives the appropriate headers and makes it more obvious that it is different but am happy to wait for others opinions at PR/FLC. Have you had any ideas on how to go about marking the method of qualification yet. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 14:02, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Suggestion, before colouring every cell would it perhaps be better just to colour the "Team A won on aggregate 1-0" cell, as then you reduce to colours, blue background doesn't conflict with bold and blue links in those cells, and you can still work out how the other team qualified from information given in the lead. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 15:57, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Just thought I'd get your input of what else needs doing. I managed to (eventually) find the ones missed from the by club and nation tables, and I think it is all looking in pretty good order now. My only concern is that the blue links of the locations looks a bit messy, shall we just link them all like the others e.g. List of European Cup and UEFA Champions League winners. Also did you want to take it to peer review, or were you planning to go straight to FLC? Rambo's Revenge (talk) 21:37, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Super Cup: Peer Review & FLC

Just to let you know I will be away for a couple of weeks so won't be able to address any issues raised at peer review until I return. Also if you get adequate response at peer and want to push on with its FLC, please do so and i'll pitch in again once I'm back. Good luck, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 20:26, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Peer review

Thanks very much for you work at Peer review - just a heads up though. Ealdgyth tries to review sources and refs on all potential FAC articles. Since they are going to FAC, they need to be reviewed on areas besides just their refs, so I do not remove them from the backlog list if the whole review is just refs (or just photos). So I will add some comments to William Hanna later and would not have removed it yet. This is not a big deal - just wanted to let you know, take care and keep up the good work, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:26, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Peer Review

Thanks you very much for your work at Wikipedia:Peer review/Czech Republic national football team/archive1, but could you please elaborate a bit on your requests for the fan section and statistics section - once again, thank you // Finns 17:53, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

I've just Peer Reviewed the list now. I hope it has picked out a few problems you didn't notice. I took a look at your other golfing list work and you've done a really good job. Well done. Personally I think the lead photos you have on the right hand side of them could be a little bigger but I suppose it's all down to personal preference and how it displays on you screen. I'm from the north-west but I am so ignorant that I didn't realise last year's Open Championship was in Southport! Ah well. From one Koppite to another - I'm currently working on expanding Xabi Alonso (up to 2006 now) so I'll be sure to tell you when I'm going to take it to peer review if you're interested. Keep up the good work and I'm watching your OC champions peer review for responses. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 14:02, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

A bit of information about Andrew Kirkaldy can be found on google books Here. Roger Wethered - Oxford DNB link if you have a subscription is Here. Cheers. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 11:24, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
And yes I'm definitely interested in improving the Anfield article but I'll have my hands full with these three guys for a little while longer. Take care! Sillyfolkboy (talk) 11:30, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
As a gesture of goodwill I've made an article on Roger Wethered now. Hope you like it! Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:02, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

List of Liverpool F.C. statistics and records

Sorry I've not got round to having another look at the FLC, it crept out of my mind. Hopefully I should be able to have another little look at the list tomorrow. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 20:23, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

PR thanks

Nap, thanks for your PR of the hep C article. And thanks for teaching me a new thing--I was unaware of the table-sorting code, which makes the article looks very cool. Your assistance is bringing the article that much closer to FL-status. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 16:35, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for correcting the error on the Sunderland A.F.C. seasons article, I confused it with the highest Division one points total. Thanks. Sunderland06 (talk) 21:00, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey there, thanks for your reversion on this squad table. I'd reverted twice and wasn't going to risk breeching 3RR for an IP address on a table that was so obviously incomplete. I did quite like the newer version, but half complete it was pointless! --Ged UK (talk) 20:36, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

True enough, the colour hadn't occurred to me, but you're right! --Ged UK (talk) 20:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Unnedded changes?

Hello. I made some edits to List of UEFA club competition winners, that you quickly reverted as "unneeded changes", not even noticing that you reverted back some errors concerning some clubs' totals. Care to explain why they were "unneeded"? Parutakupiu (talk) 19:41, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jimmy Thomson (golfer), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jimmy Thomson (golfer) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jimmy Thomson (golfer), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 15:21, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Just letting you know that I have reverted your edit to List of Presidents of the United States. Trying to use sortability with all those "colspan=" that are in place really messes the table up. If you don't understand what I mean try using that sort on your old version. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 19:09, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

List of World Rally Championship Drivers' Champions

Hey. I expanded the article with the same target after future improvements, and besides the refs, I don't think your edits have aided the article's path into a featured list. Look around motorsport articles; there are no "country" columns. If it is your personal preference to have a separate column for flags, you need to stop inserting it into articles and discuss about it somewhere such as WT:MOTOR. I'm pretty sure this idea will be opposed, because current practice shows current consensus in this case. Secondly, why are you changing precise wikilinks into direct section links that get broken very easily, and prevent newly created separate articles from being automatically linked to? Read WP:R#NOTBROKEN. Third, why are replacing the cars' official entry names and correct models with self-coined or less precise names ("Impreza WRX" is even a factual inaccuracy, as is claiming that Biasion only drove HF 4WD in 1988)? Prolog (talk) 02:59, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Where did you get the idea that a country column is a requirement for a featured list? It certainly is not, and I found four motorsport related featured lists and none of those has it. The column has very little use, is not found in similar articles, unnecessarily widens the table (always a problem for lower resolution screens) and shouts at the reader in capital letters such as "FIN" and "SWE". Whether you personally find the redirects annoying or not, redirects with possibilities should never be replaced with target page links and the guideline is clear on that: Do not "fix" links to redirects that are not broken. Prolog (talk) 02:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

table centering

I agree that the numerical columns in List of men's major championships winning golfers should be aligned center. My edit to the table produces the same result and saves about 1/4 of the article size. Don't these two tables look identical to you? They do to me.

My version:

Country Golfer Winning span Masters U.S. Open The Open PGA Total
 USA Jack Nicklaus 1962–1986 6 4 3 5 18
 USA Tiger Woods 1997–2008 4 3 3 4 14
 USA Walter Hagen 1914–1929 0 2 4 5 11

Your version:

Country Golfer Winning span Masters U.S. Open The Open PGA Total
 USA Jack Nicklaus 1962–1986 6 4 3 5 18
 USA Tiger Woods 1997–2008 4 3 3 4 14
 USA Walter Hagen 1914–1929 0 2 4 5 11

My version sets the default text alignment to center and then left aligns two columns (Country, Golfer). Your version uses the default of left align and centers six columns. With small tables it doesn't make much difference, but with large tables, like this one, my version saves a lot of space.

The other thing I changed was your {{sort|{{flag|USA}} to {{sort|USA|{{flag|USA}}}} - I'm not sure how your version actually works since it seems to be missing a set of "}}"'s.

I'll revert back to my version unless you give me a good reason not to.Tewapack (talk) 06:23, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
