Replaceable fair use image
Thanks for uploading Image:Remak_Ramsay.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 12:40, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Mickey Devine (disambiguation)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}
" template to the article Mickey Devine (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 13:59, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Graciela Naranjo-1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Disputed fair use rationale for image
Thank you for uploading Image:Lloyd Brown.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:23, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Baseball bios
Great work on creating articles on the forgotten Major Leaguers. I have a couple of things I wanted to bring to your attention, though:
- We came to a consensus some time ago not to include links to the all-time rosters on the player bios. I've been removing the links as I've been finding them.
- It would be a huge help if you could use the {{Baseballstats}} template for links to baseball-reference.com, etc.

Orphaned non-free media
Thanks for uploading Image:Love Walked In (1997 film).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Template for Caribbean Baseball World Series
Because Template:Caribbean Baseball World Series includes entire article sections, such as References and External Links, it was creating difficulties for other editors who added material to the articles in which it was used. Although I'm aware that it may have helped in constructing the series of articles, I think its longer term use would continue to create barriers for other editors. Therefore, in each of the articles that referenced it, I've boldly replaced the template with the text that it contains. BRMo (talk) 23:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Dab "Jack O'Brien"
- I hope you'll consider consulting MoSDab/Dab as you have further occasion to work on Dab pages.
- While you were certainly sabotaged by an inexplicable and bizarrely summarized edit, IMO most editors set themselves a standard of care that leads from
- "Jack O'Brien" should be a common name; why doesn't Jack O'Brien lk to a Dab?
- to
- I wonder if Jack O'Brien (disambiguation) exists?
- and i commend such a standard to you.
- You won't be able to view the original of this diff, but i could Email it to you, i suppose, if you like. To summarize, it shows that the substantive positive differences of your Dab from the old one were 5 new rd lks. I examined the 3 IMDb pgs you cited (a long dead director of one film, who became an uncredited actor in two more abt a decade later; two actors each with one credit in the bottom 2/3 of the cast list in their respective only films) and did Google tests for the other two topics (one producing 640 hits and one 56), in each case excluding WP and those Google deems essentially identical. (If those additions were not simply WP:POINT, in an attempt to justify the downgrading of the (IMO probably deletable) editor by exhibiting a sea of competitors, i'm surprised that you didn't trouble to view the 3 IMDb pgs and draw what i consider the obvious conclusions, that keying the respective entries was a waste of your time.) On that basis i deleted all five of those rdlks as each presumptively incapable, in the absence of further evidence, of having a corresponding non-deletable article created.
- Examined at that point, Jack O'Brien amounted to a duplicate page created by error, and i speedy-deleted it under WP:CSD#G6. Should you prefer the fuss of having the four-edit edit history of your version merged into the longer one of the older Dab (as GDFL arguably requires), please say so and i will oblige you. - You didn't deserve this treatment over edit errors I made; my apologies and thanks again for your help. Flowanda | Talk 03:11, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Elrod Hendricks image
A tag has been placed on Image:Elrod Hendricks.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.
If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ --Rajah (talk) 19:03, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Talk:Image:Elrod Hendricks.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image source problem
Thanks for uploading Image:Buck Freeman.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC). I generally don't question the creation of biographies, but in this case I'm seriously wondering if this has potential to develop, this player only had one season in MLB and its bringing a low count of Yahoo! hits, with virtually no direct ones. As they say, the goal of Wikipedia is to have every article featured, and while that may be essentially impossible at once due to the massive aquantity of articles, at the very least all articles should have GA potential, neither WP:BASE nor WP:PUR would benefit from perpetual stubs. Am I right by assuming that you have more information than the one used already? - Caribbean~H.Q. 04:46, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- The problem is not really having a brief article, I figure that a makeshift "career" section could be built, using summaries of those 27 games and any minor league season, the issue is that it goes unattended, in articles covering obscure players its better to put every last bit of information as quickly as possible, otherwise some web sources might go dead and a good ammount of information could be lost in the process. If the article reaches 10,000 kb that should be enough to push it over the GA fence due to the small quantity of information available. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:48, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Bob Montgomery
Is there some particular reason you've taken several instances of links to Bob Montgomery (baseball) and changed them to link to the page Bob Montgomery (baseball player) page, which is a redirect to the first one? I just changed those while doing some work on getting rid of links to disambiguation pages and it's been popping up on my watchlist. Just curious. -Dewelar (talk) 03:04, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Friendly chat
Hey, how's one of my best buddies here? I was glad to hear from you. Sorry, that it took me so long to answer, but I have been absorbed with re-writing the Puerto Rican Campaign article. Hey, did I tell you what happened to me this last May? If I didn't, check it out in the article which my son wrote: [[Tony Santiago}}. My other son is going to a NY Yankees game with my granddaughter this September before they tear down the House that Ruth built. Man, for me G.S. has committed a mortal sin and after this season, I do not want to know anything more of that team. Drop me a line. Tony the Marine (talk) 03:43, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Randy Ruiz
Hey there. I was wondering if could help me expand Randy Ruiz, a Minnesota Twins-related baseball player biography. You did a fine job with Steve Rodriguez, and I'm sure you'll be able to help out with Randy Ruiz]]. It'll be greatly appreciated. -- RyRy (talk) 03:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you that I expanded it myself. Thanks anyways. Best, RyRy (talk) 20:34, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Anthony Warde
Nice article. You know, I had never heard of Anthony Warde until now. One of the interesting things that I find when watchimg a movie are actorse like Warde, who you see in bunch of films yet, you can't remember their names because they normally play secondary characters. One day my sons and I watched a movie and some guy played a character called "Morti". For us "Morti" was the high light of the film. Now, we don't know the actors name, however everytime that we watch a film and the actor who played "Morti" is in it, we say "Hey, look it's Morti". Tony the Marine (talk) 01:25, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- Now I remember, the movie was "Undercover Blues" with Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid. Stanley Tucci played "Muerte" (aka Morty). Man, that guy had me laughing for months. Tony the Marine (talk) 15:50, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Ewell Blackwell
Hi MusiCitizen, just curious about some mark up near the beginning of Ewell Blackwell article. It appears that you made the edit back in 2005. For my concern see Talk:Ewell Blackwell. Thanks. Daytrivia (talk) 21:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Sam Dodge (disambiguation)
I have nominated Sam Dodge (disambiguation), an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sam Dodge (disambiguation). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Deleting references
I appreciate your work on the film serial articles, but please stop deleting the references I have added to them. It took me a long time to collected referenced information and I've noticed at least two examples (Perils of the Royal Mounted and The Iron Claw (1941 serial)) where you have removed them.
While I'm writing, it isn't something I care about but there is a discussion at Wikiproject Films which is against using tables in cast sections, which I have noticed you doing: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films#Cast section - AdamBMorgan (talk) 13:17, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
A page you created has been listed for deletion. Please see the article, WP:MOSDAB and WP:PROD if you wish to contest this. Thanks, Hndis (talk) 18:20, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Dee Hoty.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dee Hoty.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? dave pape (talk) 01:40, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Re: friendly salute
Thanks for the note. There's about 4-5 of us out here creating these pages, and I'd like to see them all done someday in the next year or so. Now that I'm back from vacation, I can pick up where I left off. -Dewelar (talk) 22:47, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Reverting your edit on List of Major League Baseball players: W1
I'm not sure why you're removing the differentiators from this player list, but that's only part why I reverted it. The main reason is that on your recent edit, you also deleted about 3/4 of the page, which is now restored. Would you mind letting me know your thoughts before proceeding with this? Thanks. -Dewelar (talk) 01:05, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- They look all right, although generally I try to avoid linking teams more than once. I'm still a bit confused as to why you're removing the differentiators, though. I put them there originally to give folks a little more guidance as to just which Bob Smith they were looking at. -Dewelar (talk) 02:41, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media
Thanks for uploading Image:RedSox CircleSoxLogo.gif.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:03, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Chico Carrasquel image
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chico Carrasquel 52 T-4C5D5.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wizardman 20:02, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
