DYK for Julián Ladera
On 12 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Julián Ladera, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Julián Ladera was born in a ghost village? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Julián Ladera. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

IRC
Hi, several people from the baseball wikiproject are getting together after Wizardman's sudden retirement to figure out a better way to organize the Wikiproject. One of the ideas we came up with is having our own IRC channel to help each other, as well as new users with collaboration and content. If you need help connecting to IRC join #wikipedia-coffeehouse connect. The IRC channel for Wikiproject Baseball is #wiki-baseball connect. Thanks Secret account 15:02, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Mace Brown.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Mace Brown.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 17:14, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

You expanded[1] his article a few years ago. One thing- obituaries fail WP:RS. Here's a very recent example[2] of a baseball related obituary making false claims. A more infamous example is the false Bill Henry of a few years back. Obituaries can be used but in a very limited way as a source. Mostly in regards to where a person lived. I'm pointing this out because you cite the obituary for Herriage being part of 3 high school championship teams and I've removed it....William 14:50, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Wes Ferrell-1937.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Wes Ferrell-1937.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wizardman 19:33, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

Category:New Orleans Pelicans players
Hello - you had added this category recently to Earl Smith (1950s outfielder). I just wanted to make you aware that this category applies to the current NBA franchise by this name. I think you intended to add Category:New Orleans Pelicans (baseball) players. Thanks! Rikster2 (talk) 02:01, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

Blocked

Request reason:
Hello! I have been a Wikipedia contributor for almost 11 years and never had been blocked for any reason. Actually, I have no idea how to solve this problem myself, so I need a helping hand to fix this, please. Many thanks for considering my request. MusiCitizen
Decline reason:
=The IP address you're using has been blocked, because it acts like a proxy server. While we could grant you IP Block Exemption, this would only be done if there was an actual need for you to edit from this IP address. PhilKnight (talk) 16:32, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- You'll have to tell us what message you are getting. I can't see any direct block on this account. Peridon (talk) 16:02, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Dear PhilKnight and Peridon: Thanks for your quick reply. Apparently I am only allowed to edit my own talk page, because when I try to edit other pages, including mine or other user talk pages, appears the message "You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create the..." (Editing from 190.72.0.0/16 has been blocked [disabled] by NawlinWiki for... etc.) I think that it could be caused by a proxy server, according to its Wikipedia entry, but I cannot find the way to solve this problem by myself and do not know to do. Could you help me? Sincerely, MusiCitizen (talk) 17:41, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Are you editing from your normal place? Have you changed your internet provider? Are you running any sort of anonymising software? (If you don't know what that means, you probably aren't...) Any sort of change can cause this problem. If you can think of any changes, let us know. Peridon (talk) 14:48, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
