Hi MrStoat, I notice your draft got declined. I came across the fact that Ian Charles doesn't have a Wikipedia article from a different direction: someone started an article about him several years ago in their user sandbox, but they also had it declined, and they abandoned it. I found your draft when I attempted to move their sandbox article into draft-space to resurrect it.
I've currently copied a lot of their text into your draft. I hope this is okay? I haven't deleted any of your text. I'm going to tidy up the text, as currently my merge is a bit messy. Theirs was a longer article than yours, but suffered from fluffy non-encyclopedic language (I'll trim this). They'd also used his selected publications as references, which has messed up. I'll sort that out too. With a combination of the sources you found, and his institutional sources (this is allowed for academics, by WP:NPROF I'm sure we can make this a decent article and get it through the review process.
I hope you don't mind me getting involved on the draft you started. Please let me know if I'm being unhelpful. Thank you for identifying that the article was missing, and getting it underway. To my mind, he's definitely notable in Wikipedia's sense. Elemimele (talk) 12:51, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
