Press clippings, invitations and speeches which mention your name do not make you the copy right holder. The files where you have made the claim of being copyright owner and are clearly not have been deleted, there is a speech which you claim is PD from a US congress library please provide a link to the source or this will need to be deleted. Also there are a number of photographs which include yourself please proved the identity of the photographer and have them email WP:OTRS with permission to use their images the permission must clearly indicate the license along with a link to images, please ote that without this information these image will also be deleted. Also where you have quoted living people please provide a links / citations to the quotes. thanks Gnangarra 12:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Thank you Gnangarra, I will look into it. However, let me tell you that all of the photos taken where I am involved are my property, takne either by my wife or some other family member with my camara and therefore I have released them to be used in Wikipedia as owner of such. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:14, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
The person who takes the photo is the copyright holder, you cannot claim to be the author of the works the licensing says I the author of this work here by release it under the following conditions this requires that the person who took the photo provides the authority for its release. Gnangarra 23:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Sorry, but you are wrong, the photos are my personal property and I am the copyright holder. Members of my family just happen to take the photos for me that is all, but I own them and I have the authority of releasing them. It is the same case when a newspaper photographer takes a photo for his newspaper, even though he took the photos, the newspaper holds the copyright. I fail to see your problem here. I have been in Wikipedia since 2004 and I know policy especially those regarding my photos. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
The person who shot the image is the copyright holder unless they release it. I take photographs of people for press releases and the like. I sign over the copyrights to the person who is in the image. They cannot post, print, or use the images for their press releases otherwise, unless I give permission. To get away from having to repeatedly give permission I merely sign over the copyright. So, this user is correct that the one who shot the image is the copyright holder. Your son or other family members should have no problem giving you the copyright as I do. Others may have more information about this situation. --KP Botany (talk) 03:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Hum, I guess that it can be done. I still think that it is ridiculous, but if it must be done, then it must be done. My apologies to Gnangarra. The proper releases will be sent to OTRS. Tony the Marine (talk) 03:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, yeah its a pain with difference between you and your family taking the photo that is why I never tagged or deleted the images because its obvious that it can and will be fixed easily. Your responses have been ok no need to apologise, copyright licensing just needs to be adhered to so that others reusing WP content can without problems. Gnangarra 16:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Happy New Year

Greetings old bean and thanks for your note - I haven't on much myself lately as have had a weird lurgy myself. Do hope your wife is ok. Catch up in the year sometime. Brookie :) - he's in the building somewhere! (Whisper...) 16:17, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey Tony, I have a doubt regarding Salvador Meléndez's (in office from 1809 - 1820) second last name. The sources used in the list refer to him as "Salvador Meléndez y Ruiz", however, while doing some research for a new project titled Currencies of Puerto Rico, I noticed that the book used calls him "Salvador Meléndez Bruna". Any idea which one is correct (if not both)? - Caribbean~H.Q. 12:45, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Got it. - Caribbean~H.Q. 10:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Article to read

Tony, Hope you are well in the New Year. This is a great piece in the Wall Street Journal on Victor Krulak - [1]. — ERcheck (talk) 22:42, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

You beat me to the list. After your note, I started to add and was in an edit conflict with you on save. I added Higgins boats and formatted the reference. — ERcheck (talk) 23:05, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Alphabetization

I've alphabetized some of your lists in the past by surname (the way it should be) and recall encountering some opposition, but would gladly devote some time to this. I particularly find your combination of alpha/chronology by centuries very attractive, organized and useful. I'll try to start with Politicians, if that's agreeable to you. Pr4ever (talk) 23:18, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Question: I was going to help with the religion section, but I'm not clear about the titles: Cruz, Nicky, Rev. or Rev. Cruz, Nicky? --Jmundo (talk) 02:23, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

I think is worth the time, it's more clearer and crisp. --Jmundo (talk) 05:33, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

I like the format used in this section, perhaps we should apply it to the entire article? - Caribbean~H.Q. 11:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

The shortest one is "Puppeteers", which I believe could be merged into either "Actors, actresses, comedians and directors" or "Miscellaneous". Other than that, the other seem bound to grow, which should allow us to spread the format into the entire article. - Caribbean~H.Q. 19:23, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Otilio Warrington appears to have disappeared from the actors list, I don't know if as a mistake in the alpha/formatting process or on purpose. You may want to reinstate him, as he is one of the best known black actors/comedians in PR. Pr4ever (talk) 11:56, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Help with Secretaries of State

Tony:

As part of my efforts to updating PR-related pages with names of new administration officials, I've been trying to update several sec/state pages, including: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:U.S._State_Secretaries_of_State to include PR and/or replace Bonilla with McClintock and one of the editors has made two friendly reverts and I don't seem to get it right. I'm stumped. Can you help? Thanks. Pr4ever (talk) 14:42, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Be glad to! Pr4ever (talk) 18:59, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

I've done about a third of the surname alphabetizatio of Actors and Actresses so it's a work in progress that will take several more hours during the next day or two. Pr4ever (talk) 04:08, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I believe that this new version should pass GAN without haste, what do you think? - Caribbean~H.Q. 18:52, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I am still waiting to see if the DYK hook makes it to the main page, if that one doesn't there are at least three more alternatives. In the meanwhile, I uploaded an image of my own personal collection. There are also a couple of 5 and 10 centavos of peso coins in there, but their size is giving me some real trouble with illumination, the details aren't showing in the photos. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:45, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I just followed the book in that one, but my impression is that the Ley Hipotecaria (1861) was what affected Puerto Rico directly once it was enacted. Congrats on the GA, I will update the tally soon. Once everything returns to normal, we will begin one major streak. - Caribbean~H.Q. 19:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Chitchat

Tony, belated thanks for your holiday wishes and I hope you had a great New Year. I know we haven't interacted much here lately, but I've been pretty busy with engineering school. Don't ever go there, it's really frustratingly difficult. Anyway I hope all is well with you and your family and perhaps we will encounter each other on some editing in the near future. Andre (talk) 00:54, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

And give my regards to your wife for a speedy recovery. Andre (talk) 00:56, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Great to hear from you

Thanks for the note. I hope you're having a happy new year. Things have been good for me, although I'm spending far less time than before on Wikipedia. Best, --SouthernNights (talk) 20:04, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

I did some research back when this began and reached the same conclusion, subsequently commenting the lack of an official statement in the article's talk page. However, Republikaner dismissed my comment and carried on. I think this has become another way of political squabbling, my suggestion would be to revert File:Flag_of_Puerto_Rico.svg to the "in-between" variant so we can use that one in articles such as Puerto Rico, without catering to any political ideology. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:05, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Solicitando ayuda

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me make the page for Santos P. Amadeo, I have a coulple of links,

thanks in advance El Johnson (talk) 22:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Source Filename: Diazphoto#1.jpg

Description: Photo of Ruben Diaz Jr.

Source: Ruben Diaz Jr.

Date: Created June 6, 2006; uploaded ____________

Author: Ruben Diaz Jr.; uploader was MBernal615

Permission: See below

Bueno Tony - si me puedes ayudar (y a Rubencito) te damos un millón de gracias.

Un feliz 2009, y un fuerte abrazo por todas tus escrituras en Wikipedia.

Tu eres el Pedro Albizu Campos del internet.

Mucha salud,

MBernal615 (talk) 07:03, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Lo traté y nada

Tony,

I have the Diaz photos in my computer.

I tried to load the first Diaz photo, in exactly the manner you laid out.

Y nada!

I'm doing this by the book, carefully...I can NOT figure this out!

Yo no soy un idiota, but I am stumped.

Tony, if you can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for lending a hand.

Echando palante,

MBernal615 (talk) 13:55, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Ruben Diaz photos

Tony,

I am writing the Wiki article for Ruben.

I am not related (como familia) to Ruben, but I have known him for about 12 years. He's a good, progressive person with a good conscience.

He spends a lot of time visiting the schools in his district, and being a role model for young people.

Tony I can send you the photos when I get home -- the photos belong to Ruben, not to me.

Gracias por la ayudita (even for trying), hablamos pronto.

MBernal615 (talk) 19:23, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I'll work on it

Tony,

"If the photos belong to Ruben, then we can not legally upload them unless he personally relinquishes the copyrights to Wikipedia."

  • Okay Tony, thanks for the advice. I'll go to work on this. How does he relinquish? Is there a form?

¡Saludos!

MBernal615 (talk) 22:37, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

We did it!

Tony,

Thanks for the advice!

I was able to load the photos properly and finish the article.

Cuando tengas un momentito, please take a peek at Ruben Diaz Jr. and tell me what you think!

Gracias por tu buen consejo,

MBernal615 (talk) 07:40, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Tony

Tony,

Thank you for looking at Ruben's article.

A big thanks for the links and tweaks you added!

I adjusted the spacing a bit, to equalize the spacing between all the sections.

Thanks also for the advice regarding the photos. I need to do something quickly.

One question:

Am I supposed to send Ruben's scanned signature, or is his printed name good enough, on the copyright release form?

Thanks,

MBernal615 (talk) 07:30, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Which license do you suggest?

Tony,

I'm doing this for the first time, so could you please advise me on this...

Which license is best, for Ruben Diaz Jr. to pick?

Thank you for the help, and Ruben thanks you too!

Carabane

Hi Tony,

Back in 2007, you told me that if I ever wrote something I thought could be good enough to be featured, to let you know so you could take a look. It took me a while, but here it is: Carabane. I've set it up for a peer review here. I'd really appreciate any advice you can provide.

Thank you,

Neelix (talk) 18:51, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

PS - Good to see your effort on the immigration to Puerto Rico series is still going strong.

Hi Tony,
Thanks so much for your encouragement and helpful suggestions. I just finished taking care of the single-sentence paragraphs and I am about to check for online access date omissions. I'm going to try to take care of the red links by creating the corresponding articles rather than delinking. May I ask you to leave a note on Carabane's peer review similar to the one you left on my talk page? It would just help move conversation along.
Thanks again for the review,

Help with Speedy deletion

I have been notified of a speedy deletion of a brief note I wrote with one El Nuevo Día source about Antonio Sagardía, Puerto Rico's new Attorney General. Virtually every other state Attorney General, as I commented in his discussion page, is considered notable enough to appear in Wikipedia, and Puerto Rico's Attorney General should not be singled out for deletion. Any suggestions or comments about what I think is a discriminatory application of wiki notability policies? Pr4ever (talk) 11:17, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help! Pr4ever (talk) 01:53, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Great save!

Tony,

That was a great save, on the article about the Attorney General of Puerto Rico!

Te lo dije...tu eres el Don Pedro del internet.

I agree with you 100%...the Attorney General of Puerto Rico, who has also served as Acting Governor of the island, is by definition Notable.

I added a bit of formating to help the piece...I hope it helps.

Ruben Diaz Jr.

Dear Tony,

Thank you for your advice on January 16, 2009 regarding the copyright licensing procedure, for the photos of Ruben Diaz Jr.

I followed your advice exactly as you stated on 1/16/09, and as seconded by the user "Lincolnite" on that same day.

In accordance with this procedure:

Permissions were all sent to OTRS, and all OTRS notices and adjustments were placed on the summary page of each respective photo.

Thank you again Tony, for your great help.

You brought some badly-needed order to the situation!

Siempre,

MBernal615 (talk) 07:39, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Ruben Diaz Jr. format

From Tony:

  • Check out the rest of the article and merge any other lone sentence which you may have. Your article will look much better. If you ever need my advice do not hesitate to ask. Tony the Marine (talk) 08:34, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay, Tony. Thanks.

Some sentences represent a stand-alone idea (not many) and I tend to leave those apart...but I'll merge a lot of them, as you suggested.

The Rainbow Coalition section had clear, chronological beats...each beat containing a separate event...so I conveyed those beats accordingly.

Tony, you are a great spirit. In my short time on Wikipedia, about 90% of the "edits" I've received are from people with a gripe or an agenda. Few of them simply want to help.

A lot like life, I suppose.

You are an exception to this, my friend. You have earned great respect from many people, and certainly from me.

Thank you for your kind hand in all of this, and for all your life work.

Echa palante, tiburón!

Governors

I've added two governors and one first lady to the list. Tony, since we now have one pre-20th century, several 20th century and three 21st century governors, should we start clasifying them alpha/chronologically as in other sections of the list? Pr4ever (talk) 12:51, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Done. You're right! (as usual) Pr4ever (talk) 01:51, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I just bought a fantastic 300-page book covering the guard's entire history, from Juan Ponce de León up to the 1980s. I was thinking that we could work this up to FA once the four articles that are on-hold (Luis Muñoz Rivera, Isolina Ferré, Luis Muñoz Marín and Orlando Cepeda) are nominated. In the meanwhile, I'm expecting to fix Raúl Juliá and will present a new format for the list of scientists. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:33, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Manuel Olivieri Sanchez

I don't know what my history professor in the Colegio of Mayaguez was drinking, but he never talked about him and the struggle for civil rights. Puerto Rico Flag

Thank you for your help, and your objective participation which aided a lot. At least we got to solve this, although in the process I earned Caribbean's hate. Nonetheless I look forward to collaborating in other areas. Republikaner (talk) 15:44, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

The Color Blue In The PR Flag

Practically, it would be better if it were the darker blue...so that as the sun beats down on it...it will take a longer time to fade and then become the lighter shade...What do you think??

Also, man, there are so many more important issues to discuss, promote, etc. regarding our status as a commonwealth, as "American Indians", our combined health: aids, alcoholism, our educational and political standings, etc., etc., etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.161.53.158 (talk) 00:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I think that you are right and that you have a great sense of humor. Now, in regard to the issues, I also agree with in that there are more important issues to discuss, but when you have numerous people war-editing over the color of the flag, a consensus had to be taken. You know, the funny thing about this whole thing is that we all discovered and learned that there is no official tone of blue to be used. Uno siempre aprende algo nuevo. Tony the Marine (talk) 00:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

It seems like the dust already settled, my connection has been down for a while. Technicalities, huh? Things like this make me wonder how we could possibly control the articles if Puerto Rico's status actually changes, oh well... - Caribbean~H.Q. 17:54, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Maria Elena Holly

Hello, I saw that you've recently restored (or moved) the Maria Elena Holly from a redirect. Since there was a previous AfD discussion with the result of merge and redirect to Buddy Holly, I added a merge proposal. There seems to be valid content in the Maria Elena Holly article, so I didn't revert your changes outright. Maybe you'd like to perform the merge yourself or add to the discussion. Averell (talk) 22:24, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your answer. I have no strong opinion on this merge (neither am I so familiar with the topic), so let's just see what the discussion brings. If it turns out that the article can stand on it's own, it's fine by me. Averell (talk) 13:23, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

I closed the discussion/request now. There's obviously no consensus to merge, so the article should remain in any case. Averell (talk) 23:31, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, thanks for the compliment, I can only return it. Averell (talk) 23:37, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Re:My apologies?

This issue of the flag in the infobox would not have happened if I had not translated the article. You have offer different alternatives to meet the editor concerns but it seems he only wants to prove a point but I will keep assuming good faith.

When moving boxes I found a book of letters by Betances compiled by Luis Bonafoux. The last letter in the book is a letter by Betances to Francisco Basora. Betances writes, "..hazte natural americano despues de la guerra...No hagas la boberia de irte a meter en una cosa que no ira nunca adonde nosotros espereramos. Mucho mas sensato es hacerte un buen lugar en Nueva York." This letter doesn't have to do with anything, but for some reason I keep thinking about it when I read the discussion. --J.Mundo (talk) 06:44, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

PR governors

Hi Tony- thanks for the note. Yep, I know about Juan II- I was referring to first native governor under US administration- sorry about that, was trying to do too many things at once and screwed up the text. I like the re-write you did on it much better. Only one glitch though, the section dealing with Pinero still mentions him as the first native Puerto Rican to hold the highest office (no qualification made).

Also, maybe you can clear something up for me. I've been asking this in the discussion sections, but apparently no one reads those things! Do you know of any logical reason why Rafael Hernandez Colon would not be considered the 4th and 6th governor of Puerto Rico? He was elected to two separate gubernatorial administrations. It makes no sense to me to list him as solely being the 4th. He doesn't remain the 4th elected governor even when serving after the 5th governor, Romero Barcelo! The precedent I am thinking of here is Grover Cleveland who, like Hernandez Colon, led two, separate administrations, and, as such, is identified as the 22nd and 24th President. Do you happen to know what the official PR government position on this is (if any)? What is your opinion? The Original Historygeek (talk) 01:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Puerto Rican citizenship

Gracias for the userbox. When you have a chance please take a look at User:Jmundo/Puerto Rican citizenship. Any suggestions are welcomed. I don't usually create articles but I think this is an interesting subject. --J.Mundo (talk) 01:29, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I understand what you said. The PR citizenship was created by the U.S to denied the protection and rights of the constitution to Puerto Ricans (it sounded better than noncitizen nationals). Mari Bras used the "Ciudadanía Nacional de Puerto Rico" to reaffirmed Puerto Rico's nationality . The PR Supreme Court used the citizenship case to reaffirmed the legality of the Estado Libre Asociado (the first part of the ruling reads like a manifiesto popular saying things like "the power of E.L.A emana del pueblo and not the U.S constitution"). Mirian Ramirez de Ferer and the anexionista wanted to used the case to reaffirmed that the citizenship was merely a "ciudadania de domicilio" just like any U.S state. And finally Acevedo Vila and the PR Department of State maybe used the certificate to get the votes of the indepedestista. The fun never ends...
Now back to the Jones act. The only interesting thing I found in the case of Ferer v Bras is on page 30: "El Art. 5 de la Ley Jones, 39 Stat. 953, disponía que las personas que fuesen ciudadanos de Puerto Rico, según lo establecía la sección 7 de la Ley Foraker, quedaban declarados ciudadanos de Estados Unidos, pero que podían conservar su condición de ser sólo ciudadanos de Puerto Rico, si dentro de seis meses declaraban su intención, de no ser ciudadanos de Estados Unidos. Se le dio, pues, a los puertorriqueños en 1917 la opción de aceptar o no la ciudadanía americana." Now, my question, was this wishful thinking by the court or did Puerto Rican had a real option of not accepting the U.S citizenship in 1917? Sorry for taking so much space, I just realize that this article needs more research. --J.Mundo (talk) 16:54, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
pd: I added your sentence and link about the Gonzalez case and the clarification about the Juan Mari Bras' argument. The article stills need clarification about the Jones Act.
Several observations about this interesting subject. I don't think that Ferrer vs Mari Bras is the definitive last word on this subject. Days before that opinion was published, then Gov. Rosselló signed into law a bill introduced by then Sen. MacClintock that reaffirmed the domiciliary nature, under the U.S. Constitution, of the Puerto Rican citizenship. Although lack of knowledge of a law does not excuse one from complying with it, the truth is that the justices did not really have any knowledge of that new law as their opinions were being released. Thus, there is no reference to a law, that may very well dispose of the issue, in the Court's opinions in Ferrer vs Mari Bras. Now, the bill's author is the new Secretary of State and, within a few weeks, the Court's 3-1 PDP majority will, for the first time in history, become a 3-out-of-7 minority! According to a radio news story I heard, MacClintock has continued issuing PR citizenship certificates, but has delegated signing them to his Deputy Secretary (very much in keeping with MacClintock's diplomatic way of dealing with issues---fulfilling his legal obligations without violating his personal convictions!). If a test case were filed to enjoin him from issuing future certificates, with his law and with PDP'ers about to be in the minority on the Court, who knows what will happen! Article Correction Request

Hi, Tony. I'm a History professor at the college level. Although I use Wikipedia a lot in the preparation of my classes, I'm no expert in posting new articles, although I would like to learn. I just want to write to you, and I don't know how. That's why I don't know if I'm using the correct procedure. I just want to point out that I found an error in the article of Dra. María Cadilla de Martínez. What is wrong is the picture in the article, because it's a picture of Luisa Capetillo. I took the liberty of translating the article into Spanish, since my High School in Arecibo is named after María Cadilla, and my class is celebrating it's 30-year anniversary this year. Please use the picture I included, and post the article in Spanish, if you want, because I really don't know how to do it.

The article is located here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dg8329h6_0ck4mp8fw

Buddy Holly

Hello SilkTork, I suggest that the "GA" review of the Buddy Holly article be placed on hold until the consensus taking place in said article's talk page is concluded. Reason being that the overall content of the article may change upon the conclusion of said proposal. Thank you, Tony the Marine (talk) 15:14, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

I'll take a look, but my intention is to write up the article to GA standard and then nominate it. I'm not reviewing it for GA myself. SilkTork *YES! 08:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

He is has interesting story indeed. A working man that has the pantalones of going to the U.S representative to tell them that the Treaty of Paris was null. I can understand why the official history has forgotten him and Gonzalez but what I don't understand it's why his story is missing from the modern independence discourse. No wonder our people thinks that the indepedendistas are an elite group of Oxford and Harvard graduates that are not connected to the needs of the people. Ruben Berrios should not have exclusive rights over the history of la lucha por Vieques. You sir, have broken this myth and many mores. The publishing houses are going to go broke in you keep witting the truth about our history. --J.Mundo (talk) 22:41, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Hola!!

Hi how are you doing Tony??
I made and article and I am trying to make it more notable, but not really sure how, can you help?
Thanks,
Mdandrea (talk) 07:16, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I have tried to find reliable sources but have only found probably one because both magazine articles I found were linked to their website.
I know the company is real, I found the coordinates for it, I have also found a Swedish Wikipedia article created in October 2006.

DYK nomination of Orlando Antigua

Hello! Your submission of Orlando Antigua at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Manxruler (talk) 05:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

awards

Sorry if it bothered you. I've been going around replacing some .gif images with superior .svg images; more specifically, File:Philpuc.gif with File:Presidential Unit Citation (Philippines).svg. When I saw both ribbons and streamers, it occurred to me that it was fiarily redundant... the same award depicted in two similar ways. Eventually, once I hack my way through all adding awards to as many american military bigraphies as I can, I'm going at add streamers to unit articles. But at the rate it's going, I might be a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant before I get to that! It's taken more than a month to clear out most of Category:United States Marine Corps generals... and I'm still in the names starting with S in that category! But it makes me glad to know that my amigos are always around. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 19:18, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Category:State cabinet secretaries of Puerto Rico

As the creator of Category:State cabinet secretaries of Puerto Rico, I agree with you and other commenting users that the category should be renamed. On the issue of which parent category it should be included in, I have proposed two possible solutions to that question. Please see the CfD discussion page relating to this category for more details. --TommyBoy (talk) 02:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Black history in Puerto Rico

I was thinking, based on the comments in the GA, that perhpas we need to upgrade List of Puerto Ricans to include ancestry. This way we can link from all the immigration and ancestry articles to the List, without the need for outright inclusion in the articles. This would allow for increased article quality. Let me know what you think.--Cerejota (talk) 04:32, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for accepting my request. I glad that this drama is over. I should have known better. Now back to editing. --J.Mundo (talk) 17:27, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Unblock

I'm sorry about it.

First, the user DID mock someone warning him about civility.

Second, user DID ask for an unblock, and was reviewed to be ok. He abused the system by posting a second unblock request immediately afterwards.

Now, if someone tells you to be civil and then you make sarcastic remarks and mock the warner, you aren't showing signs of accepting the problem and you're acting incivilly. And since he mocked the warnign, he can't say he wasn't warned.

So I think you showed poor judgement, but it's your call and I won't do anything about it. Just consider the whole thing next time (like the unblock had just being reviewed and accepted, did you talk to previoues reviewer? ) -- m:drini 17:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Do NOT LIE

You state that I've been harassing Jmundo for a while. That's a gross misstatement, and I ask you to retreat it or prove that I harass it. I only applied a block for NPA after he mocked an user warning him.

Yes it was me. And I posted at the wrong page, it was for Cerejota.
At the moment I'm on a text terminal and having a lot of trouble editing (I don't even know when I'm logged in as you see above). -- m:drini 19:07, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Then you are still wrong. I said Durero and Netito were harassing Jmundo. Please - again, you make an uncivil claim against a fellow user, I really suggest you apologize and move on. We all do mistakes.--Cerejota (talk) 19:22, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I misread then, as I stated I was having a hard time. Now I'm back to a graphical terminal.
But again your behaviour isn't the best either, like this incivil bully claim: [2]
I just don't know when it became a good thing to make fun of those warning about incivility, which started all this.

My dear, this is an etiquette violation; please, do not continue in this way or I will ask for a block for you. -- Netito777 19:36, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Oh no, los bibliotecarios of the Spanish Wiki are here! This must be a bad joke. --J.Mundo (talk) 19:55, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I stand that Jmundo's actions were downright unacceptable, and by corollary those cheering him up and calling other people adjectives. -- m:drini 19:27, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I did not employ a single adjective and I did not " cheer" him "up" as I had no idea if he were sad or melancholy. Your blocks were capricious and your characterizations of my comments mendacious. I would write this in Spanish that you more easily understand, but I will not give you another chance to mischaracterize my statements.173.28.159.111 (talk) 19:37, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

The community clearly disagrees with your appreciation of the events and the things that were said. Calling spades, spades has never been considered a problem - sarcasm is also not considered a problem. As demonstrations of uncivility go, this is incredibly tame and you went overboard with a 72 hour block. You just accused an editor of LYING (in all caps) and refuse to apologize. Please: once again I ask you to apologize, recognize your errors and lets move one. --Cerejota (talk) 19:35, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Not to mention that you ignored the repeated instances of harrasment on the part of Netito and Durero: if you were to block, you should have been fair and given blocks to everyone.--Cerejota (talk) 19:37, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I agreed that I overeacted because I was frustrated. Netito thinks he can treat me informally, "A ver, muchacho" 1. Durero and Netito use sarcastic language to talk about my actions, (1), 2, without mentioning the conversation in the Puerto Rican campaign article (1). This is why I overreacted and I apologize. I hope we can get back to editing. Gracias (thanks), --J.Mundo (talk) 19:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I respect that. I disagree that I did anything worth a block or even a friendly civility warning. I was blocked on spanish wiki for calling a user "muñequita" and then a sysop from there calls you "my dear" and I point out he has some nerve (¡Qué cara más dura!) and it is some nerve. And then I get blocked by a stwerad who says I cheered you up??? I am terribly connfused by all this, but it seems that drini is more so. Sorry for junking up your talkpage Marine 69-71. I will take this somewhere else. Thanks for your kindness.Die4Dixie (talk) 19:57, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
And your high moral ground is canvassing then... [3] [4] *sigh* -- m:drini 21:34, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Review

I wondered if you could take a look at the comments that drini left on my page and see if you believe them to be an accurate reflection of what I said, and my comments related to them. I am not trying to stir up drama, but if calling action penedejadas is the same thing as calling a user a pendejo,(which would be a personal attack) then I obviously don´t know the policy. It would seem that if that is so, then saying to cerrejota don´t lie is the same thing. AVI´s comments make it appear that admins have accepted drinis version and that I deserved some kind of block, and was let off for time served. I question if the block was justified at any point.Die4Dixie (talk) 19:09, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
